One Night. His Rules. It’s a Devil’s Bargain. She calls it a devil’s bargain. I call it a deal she can’t refuse.I was owed a debt and I expected payment. That payment? One night in my bed. My rules. The debt cleared, and she could walk away. There are worse things. And besides, debtors can’t be choosers. The night started as it should. She obeyed as she should. But then something happened. … it should. She obeyed as she should.
But then something happened. Something I was unprepared for. And what I saw changed everything.
I broke my own rules after that. And I didn’t keep my end of the bargain. Because walking away was no longer an option I would grant her, no matter the cost.
Author’s Note: Devil’s Bargain is a Standalone Romance from the author of the Benedetti Brothers Mafia World and the Dark Legacy Trilogy.

AAH!!! Natasha does what she does best…she makes you fall in love with her characters…pulls you into her story and doesn’t let you come up for air until the very end. Devil’s Bargain did just that to me. Hawk and Melissa’s story is so full of hotness, mystery, and emotions. I loved the semi darkness of this book. It’s not as dark as I am used to from her book, but I totally loved seeing this side of her writing.
Hawk is a little rough around the edges and yes, he did somethings to piss me off, but he totally redeemed himself and made me fall in love with his story. He is hot as hell and a man that gets what he wants.
Melissa has such a good heart even after all she’s been through in her life. Her story really pulled on my heartstrings.
These two have so much chemistry that set those pages on fire and their story will absolutely melt your heart.
This is a can’t miss read!!

Anytime I see a book written by Natasha Knight, I make sure to pick it up. She’s a phenomenal writer who first hooked me with her Benedetti Crime Family saga and then later with her Taken, Torn and Twisted trilogy. This story, The Devil’s Bargain, is every bit as good as her previous works..
I’m not one who discusses plot in reviews (read the blurb) but I do want to say that the story of Hawk and Melissa is a very compelling and honestly alluring read. Melissa is stuck paying a debt for another and Hawk, after meeting Her, is bound and determined that she would be the only one to pay it back, such is his instant attraction to her.
Now let me tell you what Natasha’s writing does. It takes you out of your ordinary world and easily transports you into the intriguing and oftentimes alarming worlds that she creates. You forget you’re reading, the images in the book free-flowing through your mind, allowing you to experience her scenarios first hand. And oh my, what wonderful stories she weaves! Again, anytime you see a book written by Natasha Knight, pick it up. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.
This book was so good! Hawk & Melissa were so good together! You kind of expect to not like Hawk, for him to just be all bad guy or antihero, but it doesn’t take long to realise he’s much more complicated than that! It doesn’t take long at all for him to become obsessed with Melissa and learning her secrets…. and she’s trying to hide from her past and not let anyone in. It’s equal parts heartbreaking and touching and sweet and sexy and dark…. it’s just a really good read!
My first book by Natasha Knight and it did not disappoint! With plenty of action and hot sex scenes that will have any reader coming back for more!
What happens when you make a deal with the devil? You can either make lemonade or you can fight it.
Hawk was and foremost a businessman and he always got what was owed to him. Melissa was on the run from her past and when Hawk wanted a meeting with her she had no ideal who he was.
Melissa agrees to spend a month with Hawk but in that month things shift and things happen that will forever change Melissa and Hawk’s lives.
Another fantastic read by this author also phenomenal cover!! I’m kind of a cover wh**e and when I saw this cover I was hooked! Ms. Knight always has great characters and story lines and this story is no exception. I love the chemistry between Hawk and Melissa. Hawk is a powerful and dangerous man whilst Melissa is just an innocent caught up in something she has no understanding of. My heart absolutely broke for Melissa many times but I loved how she kept her innocence throughout the whole ordeal. Melissa is keeping a secret and of course Hawk must discover what it is breaking his rules of of one night only. This is an intriguing and heartbreaking book that kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole book! I highly recommend this book!!
I literally squealed when I learned I was getting an ARC of the Devil’s Bargain, and once again, Natasha Knight didn’t disappoint.
It’s always exciting to dive into one of her books, to see how far she is going to push her characters and their emotions.
Starting out as a debt story, the Devil’s Bargain evolves into a sensual and intense dark romance. The mysterious business man Hawk bargains for a night with Melissa. But will a night of her body ever be enough?
“This woman, this broken thing, I’m never going to get enough of her.”
With a gripping storyline and amazingly deep characters, I couldn’t stop reading. Page after page, I fell in love with the hot alpha Hawk, his controlling ways and the raw traits he slowly unveiled. There is something so fascinating about damaged characters! Melissa’s fierceness and vulnerabiltily offered an interesting blend, which is clearly my favorite cocktail. The fight she shows in spite of her heart-breaking and revolting childhood were amazingly handled.
“The more strokes I lay down, the less she fights, the more I know she’s in real trouble.”
Delightful, steamy, passionate and emotional, this is a read I highly recommend.
If you ever want to judge a book by its cover, then this book is it. Gorgeously hot, I could devour him just like I did Devil’s Bargain!
Melissa is running from her past, as is Hawk, but for very very different reasons. When her past catches up with her, she meets Hawk under extremely unconventional circumstances, although with the delicious darker undertones I’ve come to know and love from Natasha Knight.
Hawk is ruthless and expects people to follow his rules, but he has his own moral code and a ton of secrets too. When he didn’t do what I assumed he’d do, I very quickly realised there were a lot of complicated layers to this man and I couldn’t wait to see them peeled off. I also knew this book would be different from others I’ve read by this author. Melissa is such a strong character and stands up to Hawk, but she has such a raw vulnerability to her, what she’s been through is heartbreaking, but Hawk sees something in her and wont let go.
This story is passionate, hot and intriguing with a good balance of suspense, tension, emotion and character growth. It’s told in dual pov and I loved that their journey took them to the Highlands of Scotland, where its beauty and wildness strike a chord in both of them and helps them realise that life is too short to live in past.
Fantastic story and just a bit different, but no less addictive. I couldn’t put this book down and loved every moment. Highly recommend!
Melissa is a good hearted person who is running from a past, and she work for a charity. When Melissa is abducted from her flat and taken to Hawk who is a ruthless businessman, she agrees to spend one night with him in order to settle her foster sisters gambling debts. One night leads to more, but no spoilers from me, this is a must read story. This story is beautifully written and starts off as a dark read, and moves on to complex characters and plot, which this talented author has done an amazing job in penning. I highly recommend for all.
This book has it all. A strong willed heroine, a Sexy as sin Alpha male, touching moments and danger. Throw in a family feud and it becomes explosive.
Being Scottish myself I loved reading the descriptions of the family estate, that certainly tugged at my heart strings.
This author never fails to deliver strong believable characters who suck you right into their story and take you on the journey right along with them. You’ll laugh and maybe even want to yell at times, but you keep on reading. Melissa & Hawk are on different. Their chemistry and banter will keep you hooked and flipping through the pages to see what comes next, I know it did with me. The story is gripping and fast paced so you don’t notice the end until your there.
If you like a touch of danger with your romance then this is the book for you.
If you follow my reviews, you KNOW how much I adore Natasha Knight’s dark, twisted, sometimes gut-wrenching stories…she is one of my DARK QUEENS who never disappoints! Devil’s Bargain is yet another stellar example of WHY I love her writing!
Hawk MacLeod….enigmatic, tough businessman, hardened by past experiences yet somehow still has the capacity to care, especially for one sassy, feisty, damaged heroine with a soft heart.
Melissa Doe…secretive, closed-off, terrified of being found by the monster(s) in her past yet strong-willed and still protective of those who don’t deserve it.
Hawk and Melissa’s story had me hooked from the prologue! Hawk appears to be a cold-hearted, tough-as-nails, arrogant man, but as the story unfolds, his many facets are slowly revealed…and let me just say that I fell HARD! Just like Melissa did!
There are dark elements in this surprisingly romantic read from an author who normally does more dark and gritty, with a side of romance! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, though! The darkness comes from the backstory for each of these characters, especially Melissa’s…there were times where I wanted to jump in and do some serious damage to a few of the people in her past (you’ll have to read the book to find out exactly WHO I’m referring to!)
All-in-all, this is a fast-paced, steamy (the sex scenes are HAWT), spicy, a little bit dark and suspenseful read that I would recommend to anyone!
Oh my god! What an amazing 5 star story this was. I read this none stop until the last page. It was a dark romantic story, but not too dark. Just the way I love them. Natasha Knight write’s the best kind.
Hawk takes Melissa captive because her sister owes him money. He planned to sell her, that is until he sees this fiery women and wants her for himself.
This is a captivating and intriguing story. I read this in close to one sitting. A solid page turner that made me fall in love with these amazing characters. It’s somewhat of a darkish romance that was full of suspense. It was intriguing until the very end. Beautifully written with a seamless plot that kept on surprising me at every turn.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story
What a truly fabulous read! This book grabbed my attention from the start and built the kind of addictive story that had me glued to my Kindle. With intense character and plot development, Devil’s Bargain is a book that demands your attention and focus. I loved both Hawk and Melissa. They transform in this story, revealing layers that ensure you empathise and fall in live with them.
With elements of a dark romance, Devil’s Bargain is more than that and has a ‘lighter’ edge as we see, very quickly, that Hawk has more of a heart than even he thought. They both have such strength and go on a wonderful, transformative journey together.
I loved this book. It went in directions that I hadn’t quite expected, which made the reading even better. Bravo!
Thrown to the wolves like a piece of meat by her foster sister.
A guilentene hanging above her head. A decision that’s not a decision. A choice that was never a choice.
One night to erase the debt, one night for a clean slate but it’s too much, too soon, too sudden.
Shes not what he expected, hes not where he ought to be with her, he needs more.
A new deal, a new opportunity, more time to discover her unsaid words, and reveal the secrets behind her actions.
Will she accept…?
Eeeeepppp!!! suspence and intriege, secrets and lies, deals and blurring lines this book has it all!
I love nothing more than to read a book and not know what’s coming next. To be literally hit in the face with a revelation and be left with my mouth hanging open.. and this book did it to me several times!!
Excitement built inside me, as I greedily inhaled their story. I knew this was going to be a good read before I read it..and why….
Well firstly the cover spoke to me and whispered in my ear.
Secondly Natasha Knight is one of my favourite authors she writes such fantastic books!
and Thirdly I had this feeling, and you should always trust your first instinct!
This isnt as dark as some of Natashas other books, theres light on the horizon. Through pain and punishment, fog and mist it’s there.. Can you see it?
But my gosh that doesn’t make it any less of a read, I freaking loved it and everytime I close my eyes I’m seeing a true Scot now!
Five stars and a big thank you for my newest book boyfriend!! Hes my first Scotty!!
OMG! I loved it so much! Impossible to put it down before finish it! This story has it all! I love the characters, and the storyline. It’s dark, mysterious, breathtaking, heartbreaking, and heartwarming afterward. Hawk and Melissa share a strong, and sizzling chemistry. Hawk is ruthless, alpha, powerful, dominant, but he is also very possessive and protective. Melissa is such a great character, broken, but strong, and gentle. They are great together. The supporting characters are also very interesting, and I would love to know more about them. The scenery is beautifully described. I love Natasha Knight writing, and this story is one of my favorites from her. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. If you like dark romance, you should love this one. Really! Now, I want it in audiobook!
Think dark, intriguing and twisted. Think raw, gritty and emotional. Think intense, passionate and erotic. Think heartbreaking, soul numbing and overwhelming. Add absolutely brilliant and stunning execution of all of the above with flawless writing. And you can imagine just how amazing Devil’s Bargain by Natasha Knight is.
Melissa has no idea about the devil waiting in the dark when she returns home after an exhausting day at the second hand clothing store she owns. In the blink of an eye she is thrown into a chaotic and dangerous world where she meets Hawk. Strong, powerful, intimidating, dominating, arrogant and every forbidden delicious quality you can think of yet he is hiding a world of pain and hurt. He is captivated by Melissa. Because she is different from everyone. God my heart almost could not take her pain. She is a miracle, a fighter, a survior and a perfect embodiment of resilience and willpower. Hawk pushed her limits and broke down her walls till she had to surrender. He went to the darkest hell to love her, soothe her and avenge her. And she did the same in her own way.
The angst meter of this story is way too high. The suspense and thrill kept me on the edge all the time. The twists and turns never stopped coming. But what I loved the most was the built up of the chemistry between Hawk and Melissa. Natasha Knight ‘s words sliced through my heart and made me feel every broken love, burning desire and heartache. They were dancing on shards of their traumatic past, bleeding feeling all over the pages. They were dancing in a burning room without a care of consequence. Their love was tender and violent at the same time. Their loss and vulnerabilities connected them deeply. The author made them perfect for each other in a tragic way that only two imperfect souls can understand.
Natasha Knight has created a sensational story of heartbreak and all consuming love in Devil’s Bargain. A devastating and sensual story of second chance at life and love!
Received ARC for Honest Review
This book went nowhere that I thought it was going, and took turns that I didn’t really expect, and I couldn’t turn away! Knowing you are getting a ‘sold for a debt’ story (one of my favourites) and then getting to see true ugliness and evil in that story, not what I bargained for. Not from our characters, our characters, even the bad guys, have a surprising amount of heart, and soul, and a conscience that stays hidden, but only to protect. It protects themselves, it protects others, and in the end, it gets them their happily ever after
This story wasn’t the dark read I expected; it was a read about people who experienced dark things. One, never let it snuff out her light, and the other, buried their light so deep, only she could let him release it
I loved Hawk! The man is hot and so bossy and protective. From the moment he met Melissa, he felt drawn to her and changed all his rules in order to be with her. I’ll admit, I struggled with liking Melissa’s character a little bit at first, although I can’t really put my finger on the reason why. However once Hawk discovered her secret, I changed my mind and decided I really liked her. My respect for her grew and I was able to see her as a stronger person for what she survived. I understood her attitude towards the situation so much better.
I feel there is the potential for another book with these characters. Hawk’s brother Declan is a good guy and I wouldn’t mind reading his story and watching him find someone for a HEA. I also felt there really wasn’t a resolution regarding Melissa’s sister.
Overall, I enjoyed The Devil’s Bargain. It’s told from dual POVs, has good characters with great chemistry, it’s not too dark and has a good ending.
I was kindly provided an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Where can I find myself a hot Scotsman?! This story about Hawk and Melissa will keep you captivated from beginning to end. They meet under unusual circumstances and there is something about Melissa that Hawk finds appealing, but she has a debt to pay first. Melissa has a very troubled past and when someone threatens her, she feels her only outlet is to stay with Hawk. But will he understand her reasons? Can he protect her? And will his past come to haunt him and stand in their way? This story has it all, anger, happiness, tragedy, lust and maybe love. I truly enjoyed this story and so will you! These characters will ingrain themselves into your heart!
It’s no secret that I read every book that Natasha writes. I love her writing, love her thinking and how she knows how to get us to the edge.
Natasha brought me another side of writing . True, it is not as dark as Natasha always bring us, but I have an exciting, sexy, romantic, passionate and emotional.
Devil’s Bargain was a different writing experience. I love stubborn heroes like Hawk and Melissa, characters who know what they want and not give up.
Natasha knows exactly how to make the story perfect. When she brought the story of Declan and Axel. This part of the story takes out all the perfect emotion. (I admit, I fell in love with the little boy).
I definitely recommend for this book.
