One Night. His Rules. It’s a Devil’s Bargain. She calls it a devil’s bargain. I call it a deal she can’t refuse.I was owed a debt and I expected payment. That payment? One night in my bed. My rules. The debt cleared, and she could walk away. There are worse things. And besides, debtors can’t be choosers. The night started as it should. She obeyed as she should. But then something happened. … it should. She obeyed as she should.
But then something happened. Something I was unprepared for. And what I saw changed everything.
I broke my own rules after that. And I didn’t keep my end of the bargain. Because walking away was no longer an option I would grant her, no matter the cost.

Devil’s Bargain is struck
I really love Natasha’s stories as they start off under less than normal circumstances (dark) and always have a good storyline and great characters with chemistry and end well….okay except for one book but I think you all know which one I’m talking about
Melissa is on her way home and when she walks into her house, she realises too late that she’s not alone. When she gets dragged to an auction whereby she meets Hawk…she can’t understand why she’s there, until Hawk enlightens her. Melissa has a past she’s running away from and unfortunately Hawk puts her in the spotlight.
Hawk isn’t interested in anything Melissa is saying to him, he only cares about recouping his money, that is until he buys her and makes her a deal she can’t say no to
I simply could not put this book down, I was sucked in completely from the first word. I’m looking forward to Declan and Axel’s stories next
Natasha Knight is one of those authors who I sometimes cringe a bit while reading but danged if I can’t stop reading. I’m not really a dark romance reader but I can’t help myself when Ms. Knight has a book coming out. Hawk is a dark and dangerous man and Melissa is an innocent person who is caught in the middle of something she doesn’t understand. The story is dark but I couldn’t stop myself from reading this in one sitting. It’s that good. When the conflict comes up with Hawk’s half brother, Declan, you can feel the emotions rolling off the characters. And James is the sweetest little boy that you can’t help but fall in love with. When Hawk has to go back home to Scotland after his father passes away, he must confront his past, even though he doesn’t want to. And what happened in Melissa’s past just made me break down and cry!!! When everything comes to light, what will happen with Hawk and Melissa? Get this book!!! I promise you, it’s awesome!!!
Well well well….what a surprise, Natasha Knight did it again, she nailed it.
Once again with some parts of the book I was unsure how to feel about it all just to end up loving the story so much I immediately craved for more.
Melissa Doe is trying to live in the present and keep her past locked out but one night places her in a very unconventional situation where she has to choose between herself and a person she cares deeply about.
Hawk Mcleod never could have guessed how one insignificant meeting with a total stranger would come to change his life and bring the true him out in the open.
These two are so delightful and powerful in their own way.
Melissa is pushy and forces Hawk to face his demons weather he likes it or not while Hawk waits out Melissa and gives her the chance to tell him the truth before he beats her to it.
They brought the best and the worst of each other but the darkness did not overweight the true light that is the core of this heart wrenching story.
This was a true rollercoaster with dark inputs and very emotional stings that truly pulled at my attention. I didn’t want to stop reading and would gladly read more.
Natasha Knight showed once again how amazing her writing is and how good she is at capturing the reader and hold their attention in the palm of her hand.
Highly recommended book and my heart’s deepest love for it.
Fantastic dark read!
Devil’s Bargain was a fantastic read that hooked me from the beginning all the way to the ending that I didn’t want to see come. Starring a sexy as sin antihero I adored to a feisty and resilient heroine with a riveting mix of danger, suspense, and moments that had me swooning or growling in frustration this book had a bit of everything to keep me spellbound. I loved the banter between Melissa and Hawk and the sparks that flew between them had me devouring every page as quickly as I could. The journey these two took me on was heartbreaking and touching. I was a bit sad to see their story come to an end but I can’t wait to see what’s in store for some of the other intriguing characters who piqued my curiosity!
4.5 stars
I absolutely fell in love with the Devil. There are very few heroes that can be hot and cold at the da time. I just loved how everything evolved in this dark story and how he shows us all his different faces but also how he felt hard for the h, how he tried to protect her and how he acted around her, all alpha male but with a big heart he was down on his knees for her.
Even if it was my first read by the author, it definitely won’t be the last.
I was excited to get my hands on this books.
I loved the cover and Natasha Knight had me very intrigued with the blurb. I loved the beginning it caught my attention right away. It had all the elements of a dark twisted read. But then about 50 – 60% into the book things changed. And things got a little lighter and the story seemed to go in another direction. It was like two stories in one. And towards the end things were a little rushed. I felt like things were left out or the story didn’t feel complete.
I liked the book and the characters. I just didn’t love it. I enjoy Natasha Night’s writing. I will continue to read more by this author. I give this read 3.5 stars.
OMG!! Natasha Knight really brought this story to life for me! I think I cried the whole time I was reading Hawk & Melissa’s story. Hawk, the man with a heart of gold & the temper of the devil. Melissa beautifully broken running from so much heartbreak of her past. But still able to love.
This story almost broke my heart as bad as Sergio.
I love how Natasha can write such extreme dark dominate anti-hero assh*le’s who can love so completely for the right women. Strong take no prisoner’s women.
Devil’s Bargain is my first Natasha Knight novel and I was not disappointed. This story had me captivated from beginning to end and I read it all in one sitting.
Hawke and Melissa, two flawed, complex individuals were intriguing characters with troubled past that affected them both in different ways. These two started out as enemies but that eventually evolved into more. Their steamy scenes were off the charts hott and their chemistry was intense. The extended characters added another layer to this novel
The plot in this story was so much more than I was expecting and it went in a direction I did not see coming. What started out as a slightly dark romance turned into a beautiful love story that will evoke a range of emotions from you. The extended characters added another layer to this already well-crafted novel.
I absolutely loved this story but I felt the ending was a little rushed. I really wished it was a bit longer. However Devil’s Bargain was an engrossing tale and I would highly recommend it.
DREAMY’S REVIEW
Devil’s Bargain by Natasha Knight is my first ever book by her and to say that I loved and enjoyed every single word of this book is an understatement! It simply amazed me with how utterly consumed I was by this fantastic read!
We’re first introduced to our main characters, Melissa Doe and Hawk MacLeod! Both with troubled pasted and heavy baggage and emotionally, they didn’t know what they’d be up against.
Their meeting is done under unusual circumstances, but nonetheless, there is something there between them. I felt it in my bones!
After one fateful night, it sealed the deal. Hawk owned Melissa, deep down in her soul.
Hawk is the type of hero you just can’t help but love! He’s a cold, condescending jerk who is enigmatic, so sarcastic, and yet, he had this edge to him. There was something about him that intrigued me a whole lot and I could not get enough of him! As the strong progressed, I fell in love with him even more!
He is definitely a dangerous man with some serious power. A domineering man with a fierce loyal and protectiveness that I definitely did not expect!
Melissa is the type of heroine we all know and love! Sassy, brilliant, feisty, strong willed, stubborn, and wouldn’t go down without a fight. She is that woman who is constantly running, especially from her hard past, but after one night, things take a huge turn.
Beautifully broken and damaged, yet so strong. I couldn’t love our heroine anymore than I did! I was in love!!
I cannot stress how much I loved how just one night changed everything. I loved how a deal with the Devil became so much more!!
Their push and pull had me. IT HAD ME!!
The slow burn and sizzling desire between them had me craving those small touches, burning for their chemistry, and thrilled when the boundaries between them were tested! And let me tell you, the dubious consent had me hot and bothered!
What I was especially surprised, thrilled, and loving was the emotions this author was able to evoke out of me while I was reading! Having this be my first book by this author, I hadn’t known what to expect.
And yet, Knight blew my mind with The Devil’s Bargain and I seriously cannot wait to see what she has coming up next! The secondary characters truly captured my interest, and with that, I’m hoping we get something for them, something more. I’d definitely read it!
All in all, Natasha Knight’s writing is superb, utterly captivating! Her talent knows no bounds! She was able to bring the story, the plot, the world, the characters to life and devouring this read was so easy for me because she has me completely hooked with Hawk and Melissa! I’m hoping we get to visit them again because I need more of them!
“There are reasons why people do things and you don’t know anything about mine.”
Five devilish and dreamy stars:
5 DEVIL BARGAIN STARS!! This dark emotional story had me on the edge of my seat. Hawk and Melissa story has all the feels, sexiness suspense with dark elements…..it was PHENOMENAL. This was my first book by Natasha Knight and it will not be my last. You need to 1-Click this book now.
Right away I did not want to like Hawk but as the story progressed more and more I saw bits of him that showed there was more buried under the thick wall of being a cold and unfeeling asshole. Melissa and her story broke my heart but she is a strong woman who didn’t let what she went through break her. Even after everything she is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those she cares about even if they don’t deserve it. She is so kind and caring that you can’t help but to want to see her get her happy ending. Unfortunately that road isn’t a smooth one for sure.
Is she a slowly putting the pieces together still? Yeah but she isn’t one to give up. Could Hawk destroy all her hard work? For sure. Could her past put her in jeopardy?? Hell yeah, but Hawk knows that something is up and isn’t about to let anything happen to her.
Natasha did such a great job once again with Hawk and Melissa’s story. Did I want more from this couple?? Heck yeah but I fell in love for these two so it may be just the case of never getting enough. This book was chock full of emotions and kept me totally sucked in. I had to know how it would all play out. I was seriously getting really annoyed when interrupted because this book is one of those you will not want to put down. Now I want to get my hands on his brother’s story! Devil’s Bargain is a MUST read!!!
I am a fan of Natasha Knight’s creativity of words and worlds. I have followed her on her literary journey and enjoyed all of her books regardless of performance rating. This one is no different. While I liked the storyline and the characters, there were a few scenes that felt like deja vu, the details almost identical to another Knight novel.
The ending I found kind of rushed, with the romance and love declaration more instantaneous than most. I felt cheated with not being given the outcome of the heroine’s “brother and sister” and felt that NK could have explored that a bit more.
The dark romance factor was there along with a bit of angst and emotion, and I think with a bit more of suspense build up, darkness and development it would bring the whole story to a level that one looks for in a great read.
3.5* Stars!
I’d take this Devil’s Bargain! 5 stars
I loved this book! I was intrigued from the very first pages then I couldn’t stop reading as I got deeper into the story. I loved Hawk & Melissa together & what they brought out in each other. My heart broke for Melissa many times, and I loved that she still had innocence about her & the ability to love. Hawk, ah Hawk! I enjoyed his Alphaness, and his journey out of darkness in this book. I highly recommend this book! I received a copy of this ebook from the author for my honest review.
WOW! This book was totally delicious,a dark romance with plenty of sexyness that had all the emotional feels that will keep you on the edge of your seat through out this story,it will keep you turning the pages with how this story unfolds until you have devoured this whole.
When Melissa meets Hawk she has no idea how her life is going to change as she has been hiding for seven long years from her past and when she gets tangled up with Hawk her past come rushing to the front of her mind with all the memories she has locked away inside her.
Hawk is a dangerous business man who runs a casino along with other businesses and the night he asks her for a night in his bed for a debt that is owed him by her family she has no idea what impact that this is going to have on her life. They both have disastrous pasts and the way they both deal with this is heart breaking.
One night is not enough for Hawk with Melissa so he offers her a deal, you will have to read this book to find out what this deal is and what happens between this couple.I loved this book and Natasha delivers a superb book again time after time, this is not as dark as some of her books but it is still a intriguing story full of passion, emotions and sizzling chemistry between Melissa and Hawk .

Gah! When Natasha Knight releases a new dark romance everything stops for me. For that reason when I read the blurb to Devil’s Bargain, I could not jump aboard fast enough. I absolutely loved Hawk and Melissa and thought their attraction and connection was sizzling!
When Melissa Doe meets Hawk MacLeod she has no idea her life is about to change. Agreeing to his proposition of spending one night in his bed as repayment for a debt, Melissa assumed she knew what to expect from the dangerous and ruthless business man. But what she found was that there was more to Hawk than meets the eye when one night with him is only the beginning.
OMG!! Devil’s Bargain was absolutely delicious. It had the hot sexytimes we’ve come to expect from Natasha Knight coupled with the delicious darkness her stories always have. But what I loved more than anything was the fact that this novel was more than Knight’s usual dark romance. It was emotional and showed an almost transformative characterization in the hero as he grappled with who he was, what he lost and ultimately what he wanted to regain in his future. He was the perfect balance between being ruthless and dominating while also being caring and protective. Hawk had different facets to him and it was amazing seeing him balance each one with his growing feelings and regard for Melissa!
All in all, I loved this story and felt that Devil’s Bargain was another fantastic five star story by this author. It was sexy, romantic, passionate and emotional. What an amazing read! 5 stars, ~Ratula
Emotionally fabulous
OMG!! Devil’s Bargain was an absolutely fantastic dark romance with all the emotional feels that will keep you turning the page. Natasha Knight has delivered us a delicious sexy, romantic, fiery story of Melissa Doe and Hawk MacLeod that you fall in love with.
Hawk is a hard person who is angry with a past he cannot change, and will stop at nothing to get what he wants and Melissa an innocent bystander sought out to pay back debts that were not her own. Melissa battles to stand her ground against Hawk’s wishes, but security she feels when she is with him has her internally conflicted. As Hawk is forced to deal with his past, his cold-heartedness ruthless ways transform.
I loved this story from beginning to end. Definitely deserves its 5 stars.
Hawk and Melissa are polar opposites.
He’s neat – She’s ‘relaxed’.
He’s rich – She’s surviving.
He craves control – She craves freedom.
Together they are one sexy mess!
“I’m a half full kind of guy”
Hawk had me a bit on the fence. All sexy “ugh you mine” caveman protective then blink he was ruled by his vengeance and anger. He wasn’t who everyone thought he was. Then again the initial auction left me with all kinds of questions as to his true character. Wait till you hear his secret.
One slice of humble pie, please.
Melissa had a whole house full of skeletons that she was trying to hide. When her past came calling and the truth was revealed I saw her in a whole new light. She did what she had to do. There is always a choice, not always an easy, one but there is a choice and I think she made the right ones.
This was a hook right from the start. Hawk had an edge to him that made him both the perfect hero and the perfect anti-hero. The storyline was easy to follow, though at times I questioned how we got where we were. The cast was perfectly scripted I loved or loathed them, there was no middle ground. Except with Hawk. There are multiple smaller storylines within Devil’s Bargain leading me to believe we can expect more from this cast. I do wish this had been longer. I have a lot of questions. There were some secondary characters and plotlines that I felt were introduced to the reader but not followed, this is what leads me to believe future episodes are possible. I also would have liked more knowledge or even closure with regards to certain scenarios that are current couple faced. Melissa’s past is one of them. I also would have enjoyed more time with Hawks kin and the story there. I felt that the section was rushed, and I really was enjoying it.
I know, call me greedy.
I do hope to see Declan gets a story.
We do wrap up with an HFN.
I had to read this book simply for the name, Devil’s Bargain, and I just love Natasha Knight books! This book did not let me down! Natasha grabbed my attention quick and kept me engaged and never wanting to put the book down.
In this we meet Hawk MacLeod, he was a ruthless businessman who always gets what he wants & Melissa Doe, the girl with no past, these two were as different as night and day. She doesn’t belong in his world, men like Hawk rule and woman are put on auction blocks to be sold to the highest bidder.
The Devil’s Bargain was a deeply emotional, dark , raw and, gritty story. Hawke and Melissa’s story is a slow burn, enemies to lovers, where Melissa is paying for the mistakes of her family. When you make a devil with the devil you never know what you’ll get.
Natasha Knight wrote a fantastic book, and it has it all: passion, love, romance, a little darkness and suspense. I loved Hawke and Melissa and their story!
