One Night. His Rules. It’s a Devil’s Bargain. She calls it a devil’s bargain. I call it a deal she can’t refuse.I was owed a debt and I expected payment. That payment? One night in my bed. My rules. The debt cleared, and she could walk away. There are worse things. And besides, debtors can’t be choosers. The night started as it should. She obeyed as she should. But then something happened. … it should. She obeyed as she should.
But then something happened. Something I was unprepared for. And what I saw changed everything.
I broke my own rules after that. And I didn’t keep my end of the bargain. Because walking away was no longer an option I would grant her, no matter the cost.

The inside is as beautiful as the cover. Love love love it!
So right off the bat I have to comment on this cover. It is freaking smoking hot and I love everything about it. Moving on…
The book itself…well it was pretty damn good as well. I always enjoy this author’s writing style. It has an ease to it that makes reading her books enjoyable. The pace was perfect (apart from the ending). The plot was engaging. That said, I also thought it was underdeveloped regarding the heroine’s background and the “baddie” situation. The resolution of all the plot points felt a smidge too easy and/or swept under the rug (if you will). I didn’t find it particularly angsty. There was no OW or OM drama. The sex scenes were hot (some dub-consent). There were a few secondary characters I’d love to read more about. Especially Axel and Declan. And both Melissa and Hawk were likable main characters.
Last, and here is the major issue I had with this book, the ending felt SO rushed. I was at 90% and I kept thinking this must end on a cliffhanger because there were a lot things left to deal with. However, there is no cliffhanger, and I felt like there were many issues that needed more fleshing out. The baddie situation. Liza. Declan. Even the romance between Hawk and Melissa went at turbo speed in the last 10% of this book. I think a few more chapters of fleshing out would have made this book a 5-Star read for me.
Well, what else to say except that this is another amazing dark read from my favorite author!
I love Hawk and Melissa’s relationship love how is Melissa, her character, but mostly I love Hawk… He was the perfect balance between being ruthless and dominating while also being caring and protective.
It was one hell of a emotional read!
Wow! Why have I not heard of this author? The minute I started reading I was drawn into Devil’s Bargain like a moth to a flame! I read this book in 1 go.
Devil’s Bargain is a standalone romantic suspense and I have never read a book by this author and it won’t be my last! This book held me enthralled to it. I couldn’t put it down!
This is Melissa “Doe” Chase and Hawk MacLeod’s story. Hawk wasn’t a nice guy but he protects and takes care of someone if they belong to him and Melissa ends up in that position.
I loved Melissa’s character she really likes to poke the bear. Melissa is Hawk’s weakness and they electrically charged when they are together!
Devil’s Bargain is a really good book and I can’t wait to read more by this author! I highly recommend this book!
Devil’s Bargain by Natasha Knight is the story of Melissa Doe and Hawk MacLeod.
Hawk is harsh business man who takes what is owed to him in any form, even human form. Do to his past and present situation makes him stay had and never bending. Even when he meets Melissa he is attracted to her but he doesn’t lessen his toughness for a while and treats her somewhat harshly until he can no longer stop his feelings for her. Melissa too has had a easy life, never able to get a break from what is happening to her and now she has to stay the night with Hawk to pay a debt. But even with the darkness that is her life is some brightness deep inside her that keeps her somewhat innocent. But what happens when the Devil’s Bargain isn’t able to end?
Great Dark Read!
I always look forward to reading a Natasha Knight book.
She is so talented with writing great gripping plots.
But she also balances the dark aspects and the romance so perfectly.
Her dark alpha heroes are everything!
Once again she delivers this and so much more in Devil’s Bargain.
The book started off right away with a bang.
I started it and finished it in one go.
Hawke is a sexy successful man.
He’s brooding,a bit dark and a lot mysterious.
He lacks for nothing.
Especially women who would love to spend even one night with him.
But the innocent who has captured his attention would rather pass on that.
Melissa is such a sweet girl.
But is sassy and determined.
She’s kind and big hearted and so caring even at her own expense.
When she’s taken to fulfill a debt she she accepts to safe someone else.
When Hawke and Melissa go into this bargain they don’t realize their lives are about to forever change.
They are complete opposites of one another.
But they do share one thing, both are running from their pasts.
If they want to stop running they will have to learn to trust each other.
Better said than done because both have been hurt and betrayed.
I loved Hawke and Melissa so much.
I loved their story.
I loved the connection that they felt while trying to fight it.
I especially loved the emotions and the emotional aspects of their story and what they brought out in each other.
I hope Ms. Knight gives us more of Hawke and Melissa down the line.
ARC REVIEW: Devil’s Bargain by Natasha Knight.
Rating : 4 Stars.
I was over the moon to have received the review copy of this story. DB is my first read by Natasha Knight, but certainly not the last. Right from the cover reveal, she had me wrapped around her pinky finger! And she didn’t disappoint in the slightest manner.
Hawk & Melissa. Two endless souls treading on horizon. With troubled past and heavy baggage, they have their own emotions to figure out and fight against. But, one night between them and the devil chose to never let her go. Hawk captured Melissa’s Soul. Body. Heart. Oh Hawk! That Scottish, ruggedly handsome highlander gave me major Outlander vibes. In fact I even imagined him to be Jamie at one point of time, just to put a face to that name. He was enigmatic, charismatic and exquisitely dangerous man, with undeniable power. What was that pull that attracted him to poor ol’ broken Melissa?
Melissa. Ah, what a woman! She was fierce, stubborn, strong willed, broken, tattered, a beautiful doll who survived through a horrendous past, forever on run. But one fateful meeting with Hawk and things took a turn. Needless to say, their chemistry burnt my curtains and bed sheets. Even my ovaries! Ha. Their slight touches were so shuddering. So intimidating. They were so careful around each other. When boundaries were tested, the deal was reflected. Hawk wanted to love, to take care of his beautiful broken princess but was she worth the trouble?
When your past hurdles through that thin line, it’s only a matter of time until your reality becomes a far etched dream!
Recommended for readers loving ROMANTIC MYSTERY genre.
I thank the author ever so kindly for providing me with the ARC. I hope to meet you in other books, soon!

Would I read more from the author? Hell Yes
Would I recommend this book? Hell Yes
I just want to start by saying I LOVE that the heroine’s name is my name!! LOL and I LOVE this book. It captured me in from the very first page until the very end. Melissa Doe is taken from her house. Confused, but with no other choice she goes with these strangers to meet a man named Hawk. Hawk is the CEO of Hawk Enterprises amongst other endeavors and loans money to many types of individuals. When He is owed a debt from a girl that can’t pay, Hawk decides to collect it from her sister, Melissa. All Melissa has to do if offer herself up for one night to the highest bidder. Can she go through with it? Especially after seeing Hawk is the one to buy her! He isn’t what she thinks he is and that scares her. They both have secrets…and they would do anything to keep it that way…These two are going to steam up your kindles so be prepared! I can’t say too much as I want you to experience this book for yourself but this has many twists & is a great romantic suspense. This is the first book I’ve read from Natasha and will definitely be looking her up! I could not put this book down and where can I find myself a Hawk!! Yummy! Told in dual POV
As always Natacha hits it out of the park with the Anti-hero character. I hated him so much until I fell in love with him. Strong storyline, great chemistry.
Some grammatical errors
This book was so good, it takes you down the rabbit hole, it’s dark to a certain extent; but, it’s so deliciously sweet too, the story is easy to get lost in, and I love Natasha books, her mind is fantastic.
Why has this book been sitting on my TBR, I should of moved it up to the top of the list before now. Hawkes hurt and suffering was a grieving process, for what once was and what was lost forever. He builds an empire and surrounds himself with loyal men. This is not a man you want to be indebted to, because he is going to collect. When Melissa Doe is pulled in to pay a debt incurred due to association, things take a turn. Hawke has a one night proposition for her in exchange for the massive sum. Melissa excepts, but she has a lot of ghosts and Hawke changes his tactics.
Circumstances beyond Melissa’s control seem to have ruled her life. But when she meets Hawk, is he truly the better option? This book had some darker elements, although not as dark as this author’s other books, but it was intriguing and steamy. I couldn’t decide if I liked or hated Hawk, at times I think it was both. He was a hard man to read, and I didn’t like the way he treated Melissa for most of the book. There did come a point though, where I could see the tide start to change, but would it be enough? Melissa couldn’t catch a break, and I hurt for all she endured. And I couldn’t decide what Declan’s intentions were. So many pieces of the puzzle keeping me in limbo in this thrilling book!
Absolutely amazing read. Love this author.
This was my first book by Natasha Knight, and I must say I truly enjoyed it. Hawk and Melissa story was very interesting, the emotions and sex scenes had me reading it from start to finish. I liked the darkness behind, not so much but in a good amount, Hawk was a strong H, with both dangerous and protective sides. Melissa was a woman that saw past the front that Hawk presented. I am sure going to be reading more from this author.
Natasha delivers another awesome book! started out brooding and had an edge to it! Turned out sweet and heartwarming!
I always look forward to Natasha’s writing. And this was no exception. In the beginning Hawk and Melissa’s story is the expected dark and twisted that I have come to love to read from this author. Though somewhere near the last half of the story, it seems to take on a different theme. I do love that it proves people can change, I feel it is almost two stories in one. That being said I did still enjoy the story. Hawk and Melissa are perfect for each other
I really enjoyed this book!!
Natasha Knight has a way with words that just sucks you in until the end and this book was no different. The way this book was described I was expecting it to be darker than it actually was, however I’m not complaining one bit.
This story does have some really heavy subject matter but the relationship between Hawk and Melissa made up for it, because their relationship was beautiful.
Hawk starts out this big, bad guy that eventually starts to show his more tender side as the story progresses. His heart is bigger than he realizes because he is used to showing his big, bad, scary guy image.
Melissa has not had the best past, however she has this strength about her that carries her through all the bad. She deserves the happily ever after that she gets because of all the bad that she has endured at a very young age.
Melissa and Hawk bring out the best in each other. They also make each other realize they deserve more than they have.
I loved this story and all the: passion, love, and a little darkness with suspense. I can’t wait to see what Natasha Knight comes out with next.
A new book by Natasha Knight and it was one of those book I couldn’t stop reading. I kept flipping the pages until I was finished.
Loved the fast paced story and the characters. Hawk is a very interesting and complex characters. he has many facets to him and not all of them are good, but he is not a bad person either. He makes choices and accepts the consequences.
Melissa was a survivor. My heart broke after reading her story, she was so strong for living her life and in the end findigin happiness.
Loved the fact it also took place in Scotland. i could just picture it.
Natasha is showing why she just ROCKS with mafia romance with Devil’s Bargain! This is one deliciously dark and seriously hot story about Hawk and Melissa. The story is well written, with the ending taking a very unexpected turn that helps make the rest of the story fall into place. With a hot, dark, antihero like Hawk, his obsession with Melissa makes you swoon and root for them even as their secrets try to keep them apart. A great read!
