Attending King University was at the top of my bucket list. Falling in love with my professor wasn’t.Earning a full scholarship to King University was my hard earned ticket out of hell. I’m happy to be away from the small town I grew up in and all the equally small minded people who live there.King was going to be my safe haven. A place where I could leave the old me behind and finally grow into … behind and finally grow into the young man my family had desperately tried to hide away.
Diving head first into new experiences, new friends, and parties, I didn’t expect to run straight into the one thing I wasn’t ready for.
His arms are welcoming, his body is addictive and his lips are heaven. Cole Huxley is everything I could fall in love with, except for one problem… I never wanted to fall for my professor.
Devilry is part of the King University Series, but can be read as a complete standalone.

Awesome M/M read that wonderfully written! Book 2 of The King University series did not disappoint. I loved these characters and storyline from beginning to end! This student/teacher romance can definately be read as a standalone, but you should definately read book 1 too!
This was my very first MM romance and I must say what a great way to be introduced to this genre! Marley Valentine does a great job capturing the essence of both Ellijah and Cole and their one of a kind relationship. This is an amazing coming of age story full of tender moments between the main characters as well of some definite sexy times! One thing that we see from the very start of the story is the way Cole allows Ellijah to come into his own. He doesn’t try and change him but loves him because of the way he is.
Devilry by Marley Valentine is about personal growth, self-acceptance, and most of all love. The road to finding happiness is not always an easy task, but once you find people who you can be yourself with that is worth everything even the pain you went through! Great job Marley!
Marley Valentine, what have you done to me???? Let me just say that this is one of my top reads of 2019. Hands down. Devilry is book #2 in the King University Trilogy and I have been anxiously awaiting this book. It is a wonderfully written love story with so much emotion, heat and heart. I was hooked from page one and this book held my captivated to the very end. Cole Huxley…holy smokes! Hot Professor? Yes, please! And Elijah, gives as good as he gets. Gah!!! Love them. I simply adore the way Cole and Eli love each other; their vulnerability, their passion and their chemistry. Marley tackled tough topics such as religion and homosexuality with such grace and care. I can’t wait to re-read this gem.
4.5 stars
Devilry is quite the M/M delight! It was sexy and sweet and truly a fantastic story!!
Cole and Elijah just had that immediate attraction from the moment they ran into each other on the jogging trail. Cole, obviously was a little more forward in his advances, as Elijah was still a bit reluctant to be open about his sexuality. They soon found out he was his professor, but neither of them could stay away from the other. There was just an energy between them that just kept intensifying, until they couldn’t hold back their desires.
I adored how Cole was with Elijah – he was patient and didn’t rush anything between them. The age difference didn’t even factor into things much, because Elijah was mature beyond his years. He had gone through so much in the past few years of his life, and he was ready to spread his wings. Cole allowed him to do that and so much more. He helped him to voice what he wanted without fear of any repercussions or anyone putting him down for what he wanted. Cole also gave him something that had been missing from his life – a family. Watching him be welcomed with open arms made me smile – Elijah truly needed that. It was also nice seeing the friendships these two men had with those closest to them – the supporting characters definitely helped add an extra element to the story, and I hope we get to see more of them in book 3 as well.
The only reason for me that I knocked half a star of the rating is because it was just a little too similar to book 1 in terms of plots, with both of them having a student/teacher/age gap aspect to the story. In a series, I just want a little variety in the tropes so the books don’t all seem the same. Still, I loved the story and the characters and I’m excited to read the next book in the series!
Never in my life have I felt so freaking protective of a fictional character! Elijah just had my heart from the very beginning and I wanted to go into the story and beat the crap out of anyone who dared to hurt him! I wanted to hug him and hold him and tell him that not everyone are jerk faces like the people he has dealt with….. but thankfully he found that person in Cole. I was very wary of Cole at first. I was not at all sure how this was going to play out for them. And in addition to Cole and Elijah I got to know a whole lot of other people that I am quite eager to find out what their stories are! This book was way hot in so many delicious ways, and the emotional content was there! It was SO there! I felt it all with these 2…. and I am quite sure I will want to feel it again! I just love them, That is what this whole thing boils down to. I was made to love these 2 men! (and a bunch of other people I can’t wait to read about!) If M/M is your thing this is one book that is NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
What a great romance by Marley Valentine. M/M is my jam these days and she really delivered in this taboo, age-gap love affair between a sexy professor and his young, hot student.
The connection between Eli and Cole is hot, hot and hot. I had all the feels as they ventured into dangerous territory with their forbidden relationship. But that’s what makes it more exciting, right?!?
I felt their ups and downs every step of the way. They were both vulnerable in so many ways, but they simply brought out the best in one another. They were sweet and gentle when they needed to be and sexy when the chemistry between them exploded.
This was a win in my book and I’m really excited to see if Marley ventures into this genre again. Bravo!
