Attending King University was at the top of my bucket list. Falling in love with my professor wasn’t.Earning a full scholarship to King University was my hard earned ticket out of hell. I’m happy to be away from the small town I grew up in and all the equally small minded people who live there.King was going to be my safe haven. A place where I could leave the old me behind and finally grow into … behind and finally grow into the young man my family had desperately tried to hide away.
Diving head first into new experiences, new friends, and parties, I didn’t expect to run straight into the one thing I wasn’t ready for.
His arms are welcoming, his body is addictive and his lips are heaven. Cole Huxley is everything I could fall in love with, except for one problem… I never wanted to fall for my professor.
Devilry is part of the King University Series, but can be read as a complete standalone.

I loved this book. I know the subject matter isn’t for everyone, but I loved how Cole held on to Elijah determined to never let him go. I loved how Cole’s family never once turned their back on him or Elijah showing him how family should be.
This is my first M/M romance. I love the forbidden romance/ age gap/ student teacher trope but I was really unsure about reading something so outside of my comfort zone. I didn’t know what to expect at all. What I found was that I fell in love with this couple. This story is heartfelt, very romantic, hot, and opened my eyes to a world that I will admit I wasn’t sure I was going to like. Bravo 5 stars all the way!
Cole & Elijah have so many obstacles stacked against them. Other than Cole being older & Eli’s professor, Eli has deep-rooted family issues that makes him feel alone, vulnerable & insecure. Can Cole show Eli the meaning of acceptance & love, all while risking his job & Eli’s scholarship?
This book is fantastic! With this being Marley’s first MM book, I hope she continues to write more! She captured so much in Eli – fear, regret, self-doubt, & loneliness. Cole did his best to protect & support him. This was an amazing read, showing us how beautiful & unapologetic love can be.
Elijah Williams, 18, Rivaling any Hollywood heartthrob, his hair is now brushed back into a perfect quiff, forest green eyes, is a amazing beautiful person, in- and outside. Sadly he is saddled with religious homophobic parents.
Professor Cole Huxley, 31, He’s got dark colored hair, steel coloured eyes, his face is adorned with a short, well-manicured beard that accentuates his full lips. He’s sexy. Herculean perfection.
When Eli and Cole literally smack into each other, the attraction is instant.
My mind. Confused.
My body. Intrigued.
My dick. Very interested.
But the professor and his student do collide in privacy and start a clandestine, but scorching hot secret affair.
Realising that this thing between them is not just sex and physical attraction, Cole & Eli wholeheartedly choose each other and embark on a hurdled path to get their HEA.
“I want you. Your heart. Your soul. Your body. Your mind. I want it all.”
This story is absolutely beautiful. Cole and Eli are a breath of fresh air. They give you all the delicious feels. I will say I want stories from other characters as well. Their journey together is done well. The writing and flow of this book is perfectly done. I absolutely recommend this book.
Devilry was a heartwarming, taboo, professor/student novel that gave me all the feels. From the moment Cole and Elijah ran into each other sparks flew and that chemistry just intensified throughout the story. This age-gap story was hott, steamy and intense. These characters were well developed and will grab your interest from the start and you will fall madly in love with them as the story progresses. You will love the romance between these two. Their steamy scenes were scorching yet there were intimate moments that were sweet and emotional. Additionally they were surrounded by a cast of secondary characters who provided balance and support and greatly added n additional layer to the story.
Devilry is the second book in the King University Series. It was well written, evenly paced and will evoke a range of emotions. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MM romance and Taboo romance.
Nothing I write in a review will be enough to say how great this book is.
This story will stay with me FOREVER!
Elijah and Cole..oh my stars.
The physicality – the sexual chemistry- the fight for dominance was so intoxicating.
Oh all the first kiss..holy hell! I think my heart stopped.
I did shed some tears because it was so beautiful to watch a man see that’s he’s enough just the way he is.
Beautifully written with such passion and grace.
I highly recommend this read!

M/M romances aren’t my usual go to books but I started this series and figured WTH I’m going to read this one as well and boy am I glad I did. Marley did such a wonderful job with Cole and Elijah’s story. It was a sweet and sexy read and I loved the journey Elijah goes on learning more about himself and learning to accept himself as we read.
Cole and Elijah come from two different types of families. Cole’s has always accepted him and in doing so he has felt comfortable within himself and those he is attracted to. Meanwhile Elijah has the complete opposite and has been through a lot and is at school to get away and to find out more about himself. I loved the friendships that both Cole and Elijah find themselves and I love the relationship that build between the two as well.
Marley did such a great job with this book. I absolutely loved this installment of the King University series and I am thrilled that I decided to read this book.
Devilry is the second illicit M/M student/professor story in the King University Series. It can be read as a standalone, however if you enjoy forbidden student/professor stories, then I sugget you start with the first book Depravity. The story is sweet and steamy and full of genuine feeling. I liked Cole and Elijah, they had such a heated instant connection that I couldn’t wait to read how their story played out. Looking forward to reading Harper’s story next.
So beautiful!
There’s something so beautiful about a pure love. Any kind of love! And this undeniable but forbidden kind of love story is so beautifully written by Marley Valentine. Cole and Elijah captured my heart from the first chapter and they never relinquished their hold. I loved their story, and I loved this book!
I’m not an avid MM reader but this book was EVERYTHING! So many times I wanted to reach in and hug Eli and hold him. However, he didn’t need me, he had Cole there doing just that. These two were amazing with how they came together and were there for the other in every way they needed. It was sweet and sexy and so amazing! This was my first read by Marley and I will for sure be reading more. So, so good!
I most definitely need to read way more of Marley Valentine and I definitely want to read more in this King University world. This story was deliciously taboo in a few ways and a wonderfully steamy MM story to boot. Eli is a character that I wanted to hug and love on and I wanted nothing more than for him to find acceptance and love. Did I get what I wanted? You’ll have to read it to find out!
I immensely loved this story. Everything about it touched my heart. Devilry was very well written and you can tell the author put her heart and soul into every word. While there are plenty of scorching moments, I found the relationship developing between Elijah and Cole most prominent in the story. do read quite a bit of MM romance. That said having different authors perspectives on this genre I know what I like, I know what I enjoy reading. And this book had all the feels I look for in that perfect read. In addition I want to say that this story was very believable. Some of the emotional aspects broke my heart, but there were so many moments that made me smile and swoon. Cole was the older in the relationship however Elijah was very mature. There were times where if I didn’t know better I would say Elijah was the older in the relationship.
Another great enjoyment of this book for me was all the secondary characters. They really all were an integral part of the book. In fact, the author has me curious if there will be any spin-off novels coming.
This is not the first book I have read by this author. I’ve enjoyed most every book I read by her. She is a talented storyteller. I also want to say that whether or not you are a fan of this genre, You’ll enjoy it regardless. It’s deep, angsty, emotional and the happily-ever-after was perfect. Don’t let me forget to mention the epilogue was incredible too. This was the second book in the King’s University series. I can’t wait to read the third! I recommend this as a must read especially if you love a book that will pull at your heartstrings.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it 🙂
I’m a huge fan of this authors writing style. Although this is a new genre, she once again has delivered an exceptional story. The ability to bring an array of emotions through a broad range of vocabulary is an amazing gift. There were numerous occasions where I found myself feeling as if I shared these moments with the characters.
Eli was such an endearing character and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him blossom into the man he became. The dedication, compassion, honesty and maturity that he showed was admirable. He literally fell head over heel for the forbidden fruit that was Professor Huxley.
Cole was played the field, he wasn’t looking for, nor did he think he needed a commitment. A whole lot of new emotions arose when he came face to face with his new student Elijah. They both know that this is only going to end badly and with lots of hurt. However just like that block of chocolate…one square is never enough.
This was a well written boom that grabs you from the beginning. Cole and Eli’s story is a sweet and sexy taboo student/teacher romance. Great characters and great chemistry between them. They will have you feeling many emotions.
Devilry, by Marley Valentine, is book two in the King University series. This is my very first book by Marley and WOW! What an amazing book! This book can be read as a stand alone. The first book in the series, Depravity, is by Jacob Chance. The characters do recur in this book but are not required to enjoy this one! All of the genres involved in this book, M/M, student/professor, and age gap, are favorites of mine.
Cole Huxley has just relocated to accept the job as a professor at the esteemed Ivy League King University. Cole is thirty one years old. He’s known he was gay all of his life and has enjoyed the complete love and support of his family. He’s comfortable with his life but he has never been in a long term relationship. He has just never met anyone that made him want more than casual. Then, on the first day of classes, someone literally bowled him right over, and his life was forever changed.
Elijah (Eli) Williams grew up in a very small town, with equally small minded people, including his parents. He knew he was different, that he liked boys instead of girls. But he was led to believe that he was dirty for feeling this way. That he was worthless. Getting accepted to King University was his out. He was getting away from the town and the people that made him feel like he was less. This was a new start for him.
“He’s everything I know I shouldn’t look twice at, but I can’t turn away.”
Eli knew as soon as he touched Professor Huxley that there was something different in their connection. Something electric. But he was his teacher and he couldn’t jeopardize his scholarship. But he can’t get him off his mind. And it seems that Prof. Huxley might be feeling something too. Could it be that he was flirting with him?
“He’s not just my professor, he’s the man who’s changing my world.”
At the same time as Eli is dealing with his growing attraction to Cole, he is also dealing with his roommate and his roommate’s friend, Callie. Both of them are troubled in their own ways. Also, a friendship is developing between Cole, Miles and Harper. I love that I already knew what Miles was going through from the first book. And I can’t wait to see what Harper’s story will be.
“This gorgeous, irresistible, young man is slowly becoming everything I didn’t know I wanted, and everything I had no plans of letting go of.”
Attraction between Cole and Eli turns soon to lust and then to obsession. As their feelings deepen, they take risks. If they are caught, they could both lose everything. I loved, though, watching Elijah slowly begin to accept himself, to leave the negativity of his past behind him. To find love and acceptance with both Cole and his new friends.
I loved every single thing about this book. I completely fell in love with Elijah and Cole. Neither of them knew that their future happiness was waiting for them on that university campus. I think what I loved most was that they both recognized it, and neither of them was willing to walk away from it. No matter what.
The third book in this story is Debauchery, and is Harper’s story. I…can’t…wait!!!
“Things worth fighting for are never easy.”
Marley Valentine has set a new standard for MM romance. This book gave me all the feels. ALL. THE. FEELS. If you’re undecided on whether or not to read this book because it’s MM then don’t be; the love story between Cole and Eli transcends sexuality. At time I forgot it was two guys because the pure unadulterated emotions coming from these two was all you could focus on. The love between Eli and Cole was so raw and real it almost become it’s own character. This was so much more than expected. I expected a taboo MM student/teacher age gap, but I got so much more, so much. This is romance writing at it’s finest, and Marley came to slay with this story.
This book is a great addition to the King University series. Seriously though this is a must read series of the year. An unprecedented level of pure feels is what this book give you. Thank you Marley for sharing Eli and Cole’s story with us. #2019MustReadSerie
There is one word that is being used to describe this book amongst the readers and it’s “Perfect”. I couldn’t agree more. I absolutely adored this whole new experience. I gave this genre of MM a chance because of my love for this author but honestly; by the end of the prologue I was hooked. I could sense it was something special.
Elijah was an amazing gracious young man, studious but, with a hint of inexperience, due to his self-imposed social isolation to achieve his scholarship goals. His dream was to go to Kings University to become his own man with a new life.
Cole Huxley a gorgeous young Professor teaching Religious Studies was also venturing into something new. An accidental collision has the two of them meeting, capturing each other’s attention. I instantly liked Cole, his caring persona, and the way he interacted with his family and handled his new peers, he just seemed like a great guy.
This was the classic Taboo scenario, Professor and student. The way these two came together, their backgrounds, their mutual interests, the chemistry between them is mind-blowing. One compliments the other beautifully, it is the perfect love story; one filled with touching sensual and hot scenes, which were fascinatingly visual.
“I want, and I want, and I want.”
I loved getting to know the side characters in this book. The fantastic banter as the friendships were developing made me want to take a seat amongst them. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series I have a feeling it’s going to be a standout.
I FREAKIN LOVE Cole & Eli! Together and separately. Whew, these two are amazing. And hot, did I forget to mention H O T?!?!
I always love professor/student romances, but sometimes they’re cheesy and/or only focused on the forbidden naughtiness of it all. Devilry is much more well-rounded. Both Cole and Eli are naturally and organically real, individually and together. And both sweethearts with their own backstories that are detailed well, especially Eli. God, I could go on all day about Devilry and Eli and Cole, but I don’t have all day so I’ll just say this. READ THIS STORY. It’s amazing. It’s superbly well-rounded. It’s sweet. It’s sexy. And it’s real. It doesn’t get a whole heck of a lot better than Devilry.
Marley Valentine rocked my socks with Devilry!!!!! What a brilliant five star read!!!!! Phenomenal!!!!!!
