I totally adore E.J. Stevens’ Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective series. Devil in the Details is a short side story that gives a real taste of Ivy’s world, including nice cameos by characters beloved by series fans such as Sparky, Jinx, and Forneus. This is both a wonderful short story introduction to this world that newcomers can enjoy on a standalone basis and a great treat for longtime fans. Either way, it’s highly recommended.
Loved this short story .
Ivy Granger series is a must to read. Loved each of the books in the series.
In this short story Ivy becomes a very protective “mamma bear” to her little demon who she thinks is ill. But then you get a twist , followed by another.
Loved the ending. From the first page to the last a great story.
Poor Sparky…
NO SPOILERS HERE: Ivy’s beloved little demon baby, Sparky, is feeling under the weather and Ivy must figure out what is wrong and find a way to fix it. This little short story carries a big message about compassion and maternal instincts. I would love to read more about the events at the end of the story and maybe even have that spun into another adventure for Ivy and her friends. Overall, this was a short but exciting little adventure for the Ivy Granger series. More please.
I was provided with an advance copy of this story by the author and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.
This was a fun and quick listen. Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective and Fae, is searching for help for her sick “baby”, Sparky. Sparky is a demon and appears to have some sort of illness. She and her best friend/roommate, Jinx, soon find out that Sparky isn’t sick, he is just being summoned by someone who needs a demon. Who would be cruel enough to use a toddler for their own nefarious purposes? Ivy and friends will soon find out!
The characters are engaging, the action is great and the interaction between the characters is wonderful. I enjoy this series a lot and this was a nice short read. It could be read as a standalone, but in order to fully enjoy it, I would suggest reading the first books in the series.
The narrators did a great job and added a lot to the book. I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.
Devil in the Details is a short story in the Ivy Granger Psychic Detective series by E.J. Stevens. Very enjoyable addition to the Ivy Granger world. It is a very well written, fast paced story with phenomenal characters. Sparky, Ivy’s beloved adopted baby demon, is very ill and Ivy must ask for help from someone she does not like to help her find out what is wrong with Sparky and how to cure him. Will Ivy be able to and how far will she go to save Sparky? This short story is narrated by Melanie A Mason and Anthony Bowling.. It is an excellent narration and brings the story to life. I highly recommend this story as well as the Ivy Granger Psychic Detective series. I had previously read this story after receiving an ARC and was also given an Audible Code and this is my voluntary and honest review.
A quick, fun bite of urban fantasy
Audiobook version: 5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration
I really enjoyed this 34-minute jaunt to the exciting life of Ivy Granger, psychic detective. It is book #3.75 in the series, and beware: it contains a few spoilers if you haven’t read books 1 through 3 yet. I had only read #0.5 and #1 so far, but I was fine with the spoilers because they just piqued my interest in reading more of the series. I recommend this little audiobook if you read and loved at least the first book in this series.
This story was quick, but it was great for a short commute. It quickly plunged me back into the crazy paranormal town of Harborsmouth and the quirky bunch of characters that I love. Ivy and her best friend Jinx have a new paranormal problem that takes a team of their buddies to fix. The story felt complete, exciting, and heartwarming.
The narrators Melanie A. Mason and Anthony Bowling gave a lively duet performance. Ms. Mason did most of the narration, and Mr. Bowling contributed the few male parts. This pair are fantastic at bringing this fun urban fantasy series to life.
I requested and received a free audiocode from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
A short but entertaining audiobook in the Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective series. Ivy’s lovable adopted toddler demon is in deep trouble and Ivy and her friends need to find a solution to the dilemma or they will lose Sparky. Great character interactions, good narration and entertaining plot but would have liked it to be longer.
Ivy and her toddler demon are in deep doodoo. They need help from friends fast! I like Jinx’s part in this short but busy piece of Harborsmouth life the best.
Narration is done by a familiar skilled pair who always do their best.
Devil in the Details (Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective (#3.75), my eighth read from author E.J. Stevens and my sixth Ivy Granger read. Well-written with intriguing characters. I got the book back in August of 2018 and never got around to reading it until now. E.J. Stevens is rapidly becoming a go-to author for me! I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Melanie A. Mason & Anthony Bowling’s narration adds to the book’s enjoyment. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Welcome to Harborsmouth, where the supernatural exist unbeknownst to most humans.
Ivy Granger, cofounder of the Private Eye detective agency, has an ability to ‘see’ through touch.
Written with a humorous touch and filled with quirky characters, I laughed more than I stressed, because I know Ivy Granger is on the case.
Spanky, her demon child is ill. She had saved him once, and she would do it again. He is family.
Devil in the Details by E J Stevens was a quick read, yet it was filled with supernatural goodness.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of Devil in the Details by E J Stevens.

I’ve enjoyed all the novels and stories in the Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective series… including this one. From book to book and story to story, the characters continue to evolve as they interact with each other.
Along with human inhabitants, Harborsmouth is home to all kinds of paranormal beings, including the demon child Sparky that Ivy and her roommate Jinx have adopted. Much to Ivy’s chagrin, Jinx is currently dating Forneus, the Grand Marquis of Hell. To round out this supernatural multicultural mix is Kate, a witch who despises demons.
Sparky has come down with something that is making him truly ill. Ivy and Jinx need help figuring this out. What are his adoptive moms to do? You will find out when you read this short tale of mysterious mayhem.
Wow this is a real page turner. An adrenaline rush. Its a shorter read. But its packed with action and twists and turns. I definitely recommend

Evil in the Details is my introduction to the author E.J. Stevens. It is a good short story featuring the heroine, Ivy Granger with her human friend and her demon lover. They are trying to save a sick demon child from being summoned to who knows what. Who are the real monsters here, the demons or those that would summon a child for evil deeds.
I enjoyed this short story very much and look forward to reading more about Ivy Granger. My only downer was that it felt slightly rushed and ended too abruptly for me. It would have been nice to learn more about the bad guys and what they were up to. But maybe in a future installment.
The author gave me a free review copy of the ebook, and I volunteered to provide an honest review.
I loved this but it’s not really a complete story just a snippet really about Ivy and her much loved Sparky. Sparky is sick but as a Demon he’s susceptible to things that Ivy hadn’t considered. Luckily as an emerging Fae princess Ivy has tricks up her sleeves and knows all the right people. It’s just so disappointing that this was so incredibly short but nevertheless I did enjoy it and Ivy is always a joy to read about
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
I received an ARC copy and voluntarily but this is my review
Hooked, one book after another you never know E.J. Stevens might have in store for us. Ivy gets to the root of the problem when it comes down to her or her family.
Devil in the Details is a short story in the world of Ivy Granger. A cute addition, this story features Ivy’s demon child, Sparky, and his mysterious illness. The story could be considered a standalone but reading the entire series is a must for lovers of urban fantasy. Highly recommended! I was provided a copy of this book to read.
Ivy makes a Scary Mommy. Somebody hurt her baby demon and she dealt with them – with extreme prejudice. [Much Applause!!] I wonder how many mothers and social workers would want to hire her to deal with child predators. There would be a lot fewer child abuse cases. Since Ivy Granger and Eve Dallas seem to have similar personalities (though different views on the applicability of the law), is this what Eve Dallas would look like as a mother? Yikes!
I received this ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely love it. Yes it’s a bit too short but it’s so good, we can see how deeply loving and loyal Ivy is to her family no matter how said family was built together. The title couldn’t fit better either it’s just perfect.
This novella was also great to see how the characters have evolved and how some relationship grew…
to recommend to all lovers of the series for sure for a short but great reading time that will leave you smiling.
