The villain isn’t supposed to be king.I have a simple plan.Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university. One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke. One glance and he suffocates my air.One glance and he issues his death sentence. His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos.“I will destroy you.”Everything about Aiden King is black.Black mind.Black heart.Black … you.”
Everything about Aiden King is black.
Black mind.
Black heart.
Black soul.
I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left.
I didn’t.
I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne.
The devil in his hell.
And now, I’ll pay the price.
Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous.
But being wanted by him is lethal.
Deviant King is book one of Royal Elite Series. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive. Aiden isn’t the normal romance hero. In fact, he’s not a hero at ALL. So please don’t read this if any of that bothers you.
This book is part of a trilogy and is NOT standalone.
The second book, Steel Princess, is available now.more
This is a great series! I loved the characters and their chemistry! Aiden was amazing, I loved to hate him. I need to know what happens next after that ending!
I can highly recommend it!
5 Deviant Stars!!!
There aren’t enough words to explain how much I love this book! It killed me when I had to put it down to do adult things. The author had me hanging on every word and waiting for the other shoe to drop. The twists will have your jaw dropping! The writing is magnificent and will leave you wanting more, regardless of the cliffhanger. I have found a new favorite author for sure!
I first met Aiden in Cruel King (Levi’s Book) in the Noble Savages Boxset and I was soooo excited to hear he was getting his own book! Then to hear it’s a trilogy, even better!!!!
Bully romance is fast becoming on of my favorite genres. Deviant King is dark high school bully romance at its best. Aiden is the ultimate bully who rules the school. He is everything we love to hate. He is dark, malicious and twisted.
“The hell ruler. The black king. Black mind. Black heart. Black soul. He doesn’t even have to do anything. He just sits like a king on his throne and watches what his loyal subjects do.”
On Elsa’s first day at RES Aiden told her he would destroy her. He set everything in motion to do just that. Then senior year hits and everything changes. Elsa’s biggest concern, can she trust him? She wants to, she sees some of the darkness in him. “Souls are attracted to each other.”
With everything this girl has endured, I’m in awe of her. “Time heals everything is a big fat lie.” I just want to hug her and take it all away. She is introverted and mostly keeps to herself. Doesn’t engage with the bullying, but stands up for herself when needed. I love that she befriended Kim, even when Kim warns her against it.
So much happens in this book and I know there is still so much to come! So many things are in play, I can’t wait to see where the author takes us! If you are looking for your next bully romance, this is it!
I don’t know what to say, before Levi and Astrid’s book, I had no idea about this author,
but when I read their story I immediately liked it and rated it 5 stars
The story of Aiden and Elsa it was dark, sexual harassment,
secrets, and lies I was expecting such a blood-spattering mystery
which I, unfortunately, I couldn’t get, yes there were fights,
but it was more such a bullying otherwise, It was well-written
But the reason I didn’t rate this book with 5 stars,
this book was only for Elsa point of views would have wanted to know what Aiden was thinking
Of course, the end of the book was such a turn, which I wouldn’t have expected
Thank you!

Deviant King by Rina Kent is “Frozen” meets Sher Khan. That person that will eat you alive if you let him. A Bully Romance with a twist of dark mixed in.
Rina Kent is such a storyteller that you don’t realize you are almost done with the book and then you are pissed at yourself for reading the book so fast. Unlike some bully romance sometimes it feels like the characters are too old for high school. With Deviant King the writing for each character works perfectly.
So much dark, what the heck moments and many heart palpitations throughout the book. Rina Kent has dived right into Bully Romance with a perfect 10.
He’s a god amonst his peers, but a monster at the same time.
She’s an enigma, who walks around with a target upon her back, thanks to him.
Together they are pupils at the Royal Elite School where he can do no wrong, and everything is twisted to shine an innocent light upon him.
He continuously tormented her indirectly the past couple of years, but this year is going to be different.. right?!?
Oh my god I never wanted it to end!! The deliciously tantalising and downright torturous behaviour is heavenly!
He’s everything you shouldn’t ever desire and want up close and personal, buuuut he’s also the guy you want to stay on the right side of.. hes so very dark and dangerous!
She’s the girl they shouldn’t notice, but yet they do!
Nightmares are her reality and her reality is a total nightmare if he has anything to do with it! where does the cycle end!
What an utterly spellbinding read! I couldn’t put it down, I always needed that one more chapter until there were no more left and I was left astonished, amazed and traumatised!
Now I want to reread it!! Just because I need MOOORREEE!!
I cant wait for the second book December cant come quick enough!!
Overall Rating – .5
Lovers of a bully romance will love and devour this book.
Elsa has just stated a new school and on her first day she is targeted by the schools Elite, mainly Aiden King who decrees on her first day that he will destroy her!
Fast forward two years and Elsa is now in her final year before university. Yes, she’s been bullied over the past two years but now Aiden is now firmly set his sights on her, there is no way of her getting away.
Elsa isn’t comfortable with Aiden’s new obsession over her. He’s constantly pushing her, always seems to be near taunting her and isn’t shy about his need for her. She doesn’t want to believe that he has feelings for her, not after being her biggest bully, but he’s so skilled that he uses manipulation well.
Aiden is a dark character, there is so much going on with him that we just don’t know and with each new chapter, the mystery grows. He’s not a character you will like straight away and will definitely have to warm up to him but he will grow on you. I would have liked to have seen a more softer side coming through him, he’s unreadable and calculated 98% of the book. He’s obsessed and possessive to the point of crazy over Elsa, something that she can’t quite believe.
Elsa is so different from many heroines in bully romances. She’s strong, doesn’t cower and will easily defend herself. She’s had a tough upbringing and can’t remember anything prior to her parents being killed at the age of seven. I’m dying to find out how the story will go, I’ve got my suspicions, but it’s probably not going to be as easy as that.
Although the first sex scene isn’t until around 73% into the book, the heat in scenes previous to this are sizzling hot. Aiden sure knows how to treat a woman with his dominant ways and is unapologetic as to when and where!
This is book one in the trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger with so many unanswered questions. I devoured this book with the easy writing style that pulled me in with the complex characters, addictive plot and the mystery of what has happened to Elsa and that somehow Aiden is involved in. I’m dying for book two! Hurry up December!
Kent is a new author to me and I’m glad I came across her on Instagram, a new fan I am for sure!

First, Rina Kent is a new to me author and boy has she left me totally impressed. Now I’ll have to go look at her backlog because I’m obsessed with this author.
My god this has been my go-to genre since it became a thing. Something about the bullying has me hooked!
Deviant King….man this book has gotten me obsessed and I LOVE the Royal Elite.
I was so, so into this book that I had a hard time putting it down. The secrets and everything that revolved around these characters that it had my whole attention. Nothing could get me away from my kindle while reading this magnificent book.
I can guarantee you that this series will be on my top reads!
Wow! This book packed a mean punch. It is definitely not your average Bullymance. Aiden, the main male lead, is twisted, cold, calculating, ruthless, and extremely possessive. And Elsa, the main female lead, is strong, but also vulnerable, and missing a large chunk of her childhood memories and there in lies a mystery. Be aware that this book is the first in a series and a cliffhanger, but it is so worth the investment to read it! And I can not wait till book 2 is here. 5 Entertaining Stars!
Five deviant stars for Elsa and Aiden !!!
This is the first book I’ve read by Rina Kent and I only have words of praise.
I love everything in this book.
From the beginning to the end.
From the writing style, through characters to the storyline.
But, you need to know a few things before you start reading this book.
“Deviant King” is a dark high school bully romance in full meaning of those words and it isn’t the book for everyone’s taste.
Elsa is a female character who came to a new school wishing she had top marks so she could apply for Cambridge.
But, you know what they say.
One is our wish and the other is what we get.
Her first day of school was living hell the moment when she met Aiden King, who promised her that he will destroy her.
And that was happening for the two years but he wasn’t the one who bullied her.
That was his followers.
And in the senior year, it came the time for Aiden to take this treatment in his hands and torment her on his own.
Aiden is a male character for who you can be for sure that he isn’t a prince on a white horse.
He is the one who can make your life miserable if you resent it.
Elsa and Aiden’s relationship from the beginning isn’t normal or healthy.
Aiden has a hidden motive and that’s the main reason why he makes Elsa’s life a living hell.
There were moments when I hated him so much because of everything he did to Elsa.
But, there were also the moments when I loved him because of his attitude which has changed and he started protecting Elsa from everything and everyone.
The end of the book destroyed me.
I was like ” And now what?”.
Just at the moment when the secrets started coming out, it was the end and I wanted to continue with reading.
How do I suppose to wait until December 12th?
Because I need the next book “Steel Princess” from the “Royal Elite” series right now!!!
I also can’t wait for the bonus scene which includes Aiden’s point of view.
If you’re looking for a really dark and bully romance, this is the one you should read the next!
Be prepared for unexpected!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Rina Kent never freaking fails when it comes to writing! These characters consumed me and made me obsess! This is a must read that will shake you to your core and make you question everything you’ve ever known. The way she intertwines all these characters and situations is pure genius.
Aiden is the man!! He’s mean, arraogant, and does not give a crap about anyone!! The sexiness he exudes is so much!!! Elsa has no clue what has hit her. She just can’t deal with Aiden. You will get to watch their relationship unfold in so many ways. You will be enthralled and come to see a side of Aiden you didn’t think he had.
An amazing 5 star read!!
I think Kent’s writing just keeps getting better and better. I had read the Royal Elite spin-off first and was super excited to read this. Wasn’t disappointed for sure! There was so much angst, darkness, and wtf moments interspersed between the sweet romance and sexual chemistry. Love this series so far.
Elsa is trying to finish off her senior year in order to reach her dream college by flying under the radar. However, Aiden King has other plans for her.
Deviant King is book one in the Royal Elite Series and it starts with a bang! Elsa Quinn our heroine goes to the Royal Elite School, a school that will ultimately help her get into her dream University of Cambridge. She is shy, unassuming, keeps out of the way but somehow ends up on Aiden King’s radar. Aiden Quinn is the quintessential rich boy; top soccer player has everything handed to him kind of guy. Moody, bash, domineering and to top it off a bully, making Elsa’s life hell along with his sidekicks. The only thing Elsa doesn’t know is why, why is this happening to her?
This book starts off with a bang when Elsa and Aiden are first introduced and roars along at a fast paced. You see the development of Elsa and Aiden’s relationship as well as that of other characters such as Kim (Ella’s best friend) and the Elite boys (please let there be books about them!). There are also times in the book where Aiden is just cruel, doing realty horrible, deviant things which make you feel a little hot under the collar. What you never quite know is what Aiden you are going to get, the one who can be someone sweet or the ultimate psycho!
Elsa is a brilliant character and she for the most part meets Aiden head on, putting on her mask and pulling up her big girl pants to try and stop Aiden and his gang from getting to her. Her backstory is also interesting and I can’t wait to read more in the next book about what happened to her as I think it is going to be a doozy of a subplot. Also……cliff-hanger! OMG, one of the best cliff-hangers ever, I totally didn’t see that coming!
The story is genius in the sense that it keeps you guessing. Aiden drops all of these one liners about how Elsa wronged him first but you just don’t know what’s happened! Plus, Rina Kent, it is totally unfair to leave me hanging like that, I need to know what happened!! Just saying
If you like bully romances, mixed with a lot of dirty talk, sexy scenes and some amazing characters, then this book is for you! Unputdownable!
ARC received for a fair and honest review.

Holy Moly this book was absolutely fantastic! What an incredible ride…this story took off from page one and just kept on going. It hooked me from the very first chapter and left me gripped on the edge of my seat from start to finish. On Elsa’s first day at RES Aiden threatens to destroy her. She’s spent two years avoiding him and staying off his radar, now he’s changed his strategy. This story is dark, suspenseful, with lies, bullying, drama, and secrets. It’s so well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters captivating and were well developed. An exceptional book and I can’t wait for more!
Wow!!! I just finished this book and am absolutely mind blown. It’s dark. It’s riveting. It’s a high school bully story unlike any I’ve read before. The characters are AMAZING! The story is MIND-BLOWING. The writing is phenomenal AND it’s only the beginning.
Aiden and Elsa take you on a wild ride of high school bullying, domination, steamy scenes, secrets, lies, heartbreak and so much more. On her first day at RES he promised to “destroy her”, now two years later he’s changed tactic. It’s senior year and EVERYTHING she thought she knew is changing and some secrets are coming to light.
I can not wait to continue their story in book 2!!
If you like dark, twisted and erotic stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat in suspense and keep you guessing from the very first back… then I highly recommend you check out this series.
What a wonderful twisted way to start a series.
Not only is this genre different from the authors norm, writing only one POV is as well. She does it brilliantly just like she does everything, but I’m looking forward to hearing A’s side of the story.
Bravo, definitely got me hooked and begging for more.
This was my first book by Rina Kent and I was not disappointed! Rina kept you in a rollercoaster with your feelings for Aiden but in the end he is the ultimate asshole you love to hate and hate to love. I was originally concerned that I may not like Elsa and that she may end up being weak but I actually really liked her character and I feel like she only became stronger as the book went on. I also loved the chemistry between the two of them, it wasn’t some Insta-love situation but one where you can actually see their feelings growing (despite either wanting to actually acknowledge them).
This book.was full of surprises and keeps you guessing about what’s really going on…. I need answers!!!! I cannot wait for book 2 and all of the angst and excitement that I’m sure will come with it!
I received this novel from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.
This book rolled through my email as a Cover Reveal Blog Tour and I was all over it like it was cake. OMG! Sometimes I think authors are just at home in their writing caves penning books for me. Rina Kent studied my reading preferences and was like, ‘Well, Ali will be all over this’ and created Aiden King.
If you are riding the wave of Bully or Dark High School Romance, you will enjoy the hell out of this book.
Deviant King has become somewhat of an obsession of mine. I have read three books of this genre in the last week for review. Some good, some bad, but this book had all the complexity of fine wine, and I kept going back to study it. I read this twice, read the prequel Cruel King from the Noble Savages anthology, and ran out of time to remain soaking in this Royal Elite world.
Heroine Elsa Quinn is white bread. She’s on the near side of becoming a sandwich, ultimately waiting to be put together to fit someone’s tastes. Without even being aware of her delectability Elsa has been an item on Aiden King’s menu from the start. Unfortunately for both of them, she is about to be devoured by a man with a very dark appetite. What King doesn’t realize is that sinking his teeth in his Ice Princess will only leave him hungry for more.
But beyond my food analogy, Elsa’s character reminds me of a doll–and I thought this before I read Cruel King where Astrid, Aiden’s cousin’s girlfriend, describes her the same.
This girl is a hot mess. She is more or less defective body parts glued together with weak threads of who she thinks she needs to be for those around her. Dressed up in a world her family wants her to be part of, filled in with enough caution to keep her from looking beyond her nose, Elsa is a people pleaser blinded by her feigned contentment.
And because the world outside of her sheltered home life is ugly, she plays pretend with others so that her Aunt and Uncle have no clue how others treat her at school. And she tells herself she doesn’t want to know their motives and purposes in fear it could soil her future. She truly is “Frozen,” as her nickname suggests. To know things about others would be to learn things about herself–one of her biggest fears.
Rina Kent is a clever devil. Readers, together with Elsa, are forced to witness Elsa become a ‘real girl’ through each painful interaction with the monster that is Aiden King. She is training both character and reader to feel affection for the nightmare and molding us to love our cruel bully. But Elsa and we readers are sadly handicapped by Elsa’s own refusal to understand why villains become villains. Her obstinate belief that to understand bullies somehow gives them power or a reward is what keeps her that brainless doll.
Now Aiden King is a fantastic anti-hero, but his fellow Royal Court of anti-heroes somehow builds him firmer into supremacy. While it’s easy to think that he is the sole piece of power on the game board at Elite Royal, one must realize that the Exchequer is just as capable of manipulating the game as he is. One thing that I didn’t see until late into the book was that his pawns are far more deadly than his court pieces. I did a second dive back into this book to see how Kent built this destructive underlayer woven within the narrative. And as Aiden says in Cruel King to Levi: every game begins with two Kings.
I highly recommend this book. I loved it. There are a few dark romances that I felt held some similar plot devices to this novel, but at this point, the genre is littered by derivatives. It wouldn’t be possible for an echo not to be heard. AND READ CRUEL KING! It made me more freaking fascinated by the most demented King of the King Kingdom.
Deviant King is definitely a bully romance and although I hate bullying of any kind, I found myself sucked into this story and didn’t want to put it down! This is Aiden and Elsa’s story at Royal Elite School and it is a dark, twisted, steamy story with so many unanswered questions! The push and pull between Aiden and Elsa keeps you glued to the pages. AND THE ENDING!!!! I need book two NOW!
This author seriously knows how to hook you on her books from the very first page and keep you addicted to the story the entire time you read it. I have to say that Aiden and Elsa’s story is probably my favorite by far and its only book one and is absolutely everything! I truly can not wait for the next book and to see how their story is going to go from there and what’s all going to happen.
Aiden threatens to destroy Elsa on her first day at RES. She has spent the last two years trying to stay off his radar while his minions revel in making her life miserable. The only thing keeping her sane is her best friend, Kim and her countdown down until she can escape to Cambridge. In an attempt to defend her best friend’s honour, she has put herself in harms way. Now Aiden’s black soul threatens to tear her life to shreds unless she agrees to bow to the King. Aiden and Elsa’s story is dark and twisted and filled with secrets, lies, betrayal, and manipulation. The cliffhanger ending left me screaming for more. This is another 5 star must read by this amazing author.
