The villain isn’t supposed to be king.I have a simple plan.Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university. One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke. One glance and he suffocates my air.One glance and he issues his death sentence. His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos.“I will destroy you.”Everything about Aiden King is black.Black mind.Black heart.Black … you.”
Everything about Aiden King is black.
Black mind.
Black heart.
Black soul.
I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left.
I didn’t.
I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne.
The devil in his hell.
And now, I’ll pay the price.
Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous.
But being wanted by him is lethal.
Deviant King is book one of Royal Elite Series. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive. Aiden isn’t the normal romance hero. In fact, he’s not a hero at ALL. So please don’t read this if any of that bothers you.
This book is part of a trilogy and is NOT standalone.
The second book, Steel Princess, is available now.more
Holy crap Aiden King is the cruelest, most hateful, arrogant, smart, and beautiful man. I wanted to punch the crap out of him one second but then the next I was falling hard for him. Aiden is enigmatic and such a genius player to his own game that Elsa doesn’t even stand a chance no matter how strong she is or pretends to be. They call her Frozen because everyone thinks that she thinks she is better than everyone when in reality she is pretending to hold herself together when all she wants to do is fall apart. At first I wasn’t sure why Aiden was acting this way towards her and I was kind of hating him and his manipulation, but then we learn a little more about him and the kindness he eventually shows towards and only towards Elsa and it makes you love him. The author draws you in and makes you feel the emotions and turmoil that she has to endure. The cliffhanger at the end blew me away and was such a twist that I am dying to know what happens next. I need more!!!!!
Wow! Just wow! I love this new bully romance that Rina Kent has come out with! Just when I don’t think she can surprise me anymore she goes and destroys any of my expectations in what I think I’m going to be reading. This is a bully romance unlike no other that I’ve read. She has created a world and characters that I am so emotionally invested in now .I mean I literally felt all the feelings Elsa was going through and my heart just aches for her and even Aiden I find my heart hurting for him too . I’m so rooting for these two and I hope we get some answers in the next book to some questions I’m sure we are all wondering about. This book is so steamy ,angsty and maddening! Gahh! Holy shit ! I never saw that ending coming and that little bitch Silver ughh ! I hope Elsa puts her in her place and shows her what a real queen acts like! I have so many questions that I need answers too! And I adore Kimberly and the rest of the four horsemen . I am truly invested in this trilogy and can’t wait for book 2 ! Definitely 5 crowning stars ! If you have read or are new to Rina Kent’s books you definitely are not going to want to miss this book this is her truly at her finest . Well done Rina Kent
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
I’m so glad there is an author dedicated to bully romance, I know I’ll come here to sate my bully romance craving and the plus point is good writing. The authors heroes are great a-hole (if you can tolerate such heroes pick this book) and a fighter heroine.
Elsa was a mystery. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle after her parents death. Starting her senior school wasn’t so bad until she was labelled an outcast.
Aiden was dark, mysterious and class A a-hole. He is an outright bully who targets Elsa and imitates questionable behaviour.
What is the motivation behind Aiden’s behaviour I’m curious to know, but Elsa fights back to every hell Aiden puts her into and ofcourse it leads her to embarassing/insulting consequences.
The story has yet to bring us in the mystery. Elsa and Aiden’s angst is begging to be unleashed.
Deviant King was my first read by Rina Kent and it definitely won’t be my last. Normally I don’t read bully romances, but my mood led me here, so I decided to give this a chance. And boy, it did not disappoint.
Rina has an absolute talent for writing a completely engaging story from beginning to end. The characters, the angst and most of all, the bit of mystery and suspense. It’s a fully loaded story and you’ll be trying to piece things together bit by bit especially when so many pieces of the puzzle are missing.
I had no idea this was a series, so I was little bummed out that 2 more books would follow this. But they’re all out, so you can bet that I’ll be binging all of those.
Anyways, it’s been a while since I’ve read a dark romance. Aiden is crazy and yes, very much a sociopath. He’s the definition of an anti-hero. PERIOD. He’s possessive and extremely territorial. But it works for Elsa, even though she constantly freezes him out. But the draw between them is sizzling and intense. And it becomes extremely tough for her to deny him.
Elsa intrigued the heck out of me, there’s sooooo much we don’t know about her. It’s like she’s locked up in cage and a lot of that,I believe, ties in with her forgotten memories. It’s such a mystery throughout the entire story, so that’s one arc I can’t wait to learn more about over the next couple of books. With that aside, I loved her loyalty to her best friend, Kim, she’s sooooo protective of her.
Also, I loved the fact that she didn’t let people walk all over her. I think I would have had a very different opinion of her if she was a doormat.
With this being a dark romance read, there’s certain aspects I’d rather skip over, but it wasn’t as much as what I’ve read in other dark romances. But I will say that this read is not for everyone. If you don’t enjoy dark romances and with the bully trope, I wouldn’t read this.
With Deviant King only being the first part of three to Elsa and Aiden’s story, we’re about to learn some more crazy truths. And I’m here for it.
NARRATORS: I’ve been waiting to listen to a duet narration and it was absolutely EVERYTHING. When I first started listening to audiobooks, this was what I was expected. I actually prefer this type of narration, plus it feels the most natural. Definitely a fan of both narrators and can’t wait to listen to more by them.

Rina Kent
this Book literally gave me hangover for about a week, which is much more than any other book has given me. I just loved Aiden and Elsa. I completed this series sooo fast!!! and let me warn you, if you decide to pickup the first book of the series then you wont be able to stop until you are done with all the books. It’s that addicting!!!
So in this book Elsa gets to meet the king of her new school – Aiden, on her very first day. his reaction to her is violent and it leaves her very confused. we also get to meet the side characters of the story. who i may not mention, but let me tell you, from the first page you will be begging to get to know more about those characters story!!!!
Then the scene is skipped to a few years ahead , and now Elsa is in her final year and finally decides to fight back Aiden. Aiden , now rather than ignoring her, takes a certain interest in Elsa which she thinks is more dangerous than the bullying.
Their chemistry was off the charts and when they came close….. lets just say i have highlighted pages upon pages for there scenes.
I would strongly recommend this book to all bully and dark romance lovers. Trust me read this series , you wont ever regret it!!!

BEST READ OF 2019!!
Deviant King easily tops the chart of my best read for the year! Amazing, suspenseful plot with great character development and off-the-chart steam and sweetness throughout the book! I literally finished it in one reading and I kept re-reading it for more hints and clues of what’s to come in Book 2 .
All the unknown is really drawing my attention and spidey-senses to deduce what really is going on! Plus, i totally love the way Rina is weaving parallels with a good chess game into the plot! Total loves!!!
For those who love suspense, intense and steamy high school-bully novels, this is definitely a must-read! <3
RATING:
• Overall: 5
• Storyline: 4.5
• Hero/Heroine: 4.5 / 4
• Steam: 4.5
*PLEASE NOTE HEREON REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
SAFETY:
• Hero: Aiden King, I loveeeeeee Aiden's character so much!!! He is such a complex character that I just cannot get enough of. Is he bad? Is he good? Is he nasty or is he sweet? Is he indiffirent or is he possessive?? His many sides draw me to his character, wanting to peel off the layers of his facade and to understand him deeper. In this book, we can only tell he has an obsession with the heroine, but the reason why is as good a guess as any. Though Aiden portrays his alpha-male personality most of the time, there are many sweet little moments that Aiden shows toward Elsa in this book, which I totally adore! Loveeee to see more of him in Book 2 and 3!!
• Heroine: Elsa Quinn, She is as, if not more, mysterious than Aiden due to her partial lost of memory. She can be a sassy girl, standing up for herself and her friend, Kim, but also an insecure girl due to the fact of her memory lost. She hates herself for having an attraction to Aiden as much as she hates the guy himself, but she doesn't know why (and so do we but i think more will be revealed in subsequent books). As the story unfolds, more and more of her past is slowly revealed and it intrigues me to read on and find out the bottom of the truth.
• Safe sex: Yes, heroine is on the shot
• OM/OW: Hero has something going on with a girl named Silver
• Sexual acts with OM/OW: Insinuation of a BJ by Silver but nothing it's not confirmed
• Virgin: Heroine only
• Angst: A little at the ending
• Triggers: A few forced sexual encounters
• Push/Pull: Yes
• Ending: Cliffhanger with twist!
This is a voluntary and honest review because I love this book sooooo much!!
I’ve never been a fan of bully romance books, but after being bugged by my cousin to read this one, I caved in and I am so happy I did because I’m head over heels in love with Aiden now!! Do you see that girl holding a sign that says “MARRY ME AND MAKE ME YOUR QUEEN”? Well, that’s me. I created my own Aiden King fan club and I’m the president LOL
Why do I love this book so much? Let’s try to explain to you what was happening in my crazy mind while I was reading it! (it’s not an easy task, trust me, because there were so many thoughts swirling in my head!)
At first, I was shocked. My jaw hit the floor pretty hard because Aiden was so cruel with Elsa and I wanted to scream at him, punch him and kill him. Why was she treating her like that? I couldn’t understand at the time what was going on, but now that I know the reasons behind his behaviour, I totally understand why he reacted that way. My killer instinct rapidly subsided because… well, Aiden didn’t become a softie at the end of the book, but it was obvious that he started to care (a lot) for my precious Elsa.
Let’s talk about what I loved the most about this romance (apart from Aiden hotness of course) – the bedroom scenes. Saying that this book is hot is the understatement of the freaking century, there’s steam everywhere, I had to wipe it off my glasses every five minutes LOL
I truly believe that this book is a must-read for those who live bullies – Aiden king will soon become your favorite and trust me, he’s untoppable.
I can’t wait for the third installment of this series to come out, I’m sure it’ll be amazing.
To be honest, I am not really a huge fan of bully books, and the start of this one was a little rough for me. However, I like this author so I pushed through, and I am glad I did because I ended up getting sucked into the story and enjoying it a whole hell of a lot. The writing was great. It moved along at a good pace. The plot, although, far-fetched kept we turning the pages. There was a good cast of secondary characters, and I liked Elsa a lot. Aiden, on the other hand, was hard to warm up to. He is pretty much a “go to the police and get a restraining order..STAT” type of character. But I guess that was what the author was going for. Last, this one wraps up on a proper soap opera cliffhanger, and yours truly will be first in line to grab up book two when it become available.
Fantabulous!
This was such an awesome bully romance. If you like this genre at all, then this is the book for you. The Hero is a huge jerk and a big bully and completely obsessed with the heroine Elsa Quinn. First he bullies her by turning the whole school against her on her first day, then later he bullies her into almost everything she does. She sees emptiness in his eyes, she knows he has something dark inside him.
I had been waiting for this book. Not long ago I read Noble Savages that included the book Cruel King. I love Bully Romance and Cruel King was one of the best I had read and was a step in a new direction for Rina Kent. I think all her Mafia/assassin series books are incredible. Cruel King was the story of Levi King and it included Levi’s cousin Adrian and this book is Adrian’s story. The way Levi talked about Adrian sounded like Adrian could be a sociopath.
Elsa likes to stay in the background but is not afraid to stand up for herself, and while she is afraid of Aiden, she stands up for herself anyway. Though he seems to always see through her. He says she likes being forced into doing things she thinks she should have issues with, and she isn’t sure if he is right or if she just hates him. Maybe she thinks she should because he made her miserable for a long time.
On her first day at Royal Elite School Elsa meets Kim, a girl who is sneaking around the edge of the crowd of students and she figures that Kim is a girl like her, who just wants to keep her head down and get through high school so she can get into a good college. They become immediate friends. Then she sees Aiden on the field with his friends. She meets his eyes and can’t look away. He then comes up to her and tells her that he will destroy her.
Aiden is the king of the school and after that the majority of the student body treats her like trash. Elsa and Aiden have daily glaring matches but other than that, they have no contact. He doesn’t outright bully her, but he also doesn’t do anything about it and since one word from him to the other students would stop it, she blames him for starting it and letting it go on.
However things change on the first day of their senior year when he starts bullying her face to face. He wants her and she is putty in his hands. There are also a lot of secrets at play. Elsa is being raised by her aunt and uncle since her parent died when she was young. She doesn’t remember anything before she woke up in the hospital and doesn’t want to remember.
Also, there is something going on with her friend Kim and Kim won’t talk about what it is, but it is the reason Kim has been an outcast even though she has known 90% of the students since middle school. Kim even lives right near Aiden and across the street from Aidens best friend Xander.
The biggest mystery is Aiden himself. Why is he so dark? When Elsa calls him sick he doesn’t deny it, he knows he is different than other people. Elsa is curious to know what made him that way. She even wonders if he was abused as a child. I love how it is written, with all the mystery and we as readers don’t know the answers either.
“But as I stare up at Aiden’s punishing eyes, my earlier thoughts shrink behind my trembling, defective heart. He scares me. Call it instinct or an intuition, but something terrifying lurks behind that easy-going smile and football star image.
“What did you just do?” His voice is calm and quiet with a slight huskiness.”
I hate knowing what the secrets are and the people who have the secrets don’t tell them so everything is about huge misunderstandings or just the fact that the main character(s) don’t really know the motivation behind certain things. Another thing I like was that this was an erotic romance and boy was it spicy. I give it 5 peppers for hotness ! One thing I sometimes hate about high school romance is that they are too clean and a great number of high school students can be a bit dirty. If they were we wouldn’t have TV shows like Teen Mom or Young and Pregnant.
To Rina Kent: hurry up and finish the next book. I can’t wait!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
While this book left me with more questions than answers, I’m so FULLY invested it’s not even funny! I was drawn in from page one and by the last page, I was practically salivating for answers and more of the story. Needless to say, I can not wait to get my hands on book two of this series.
I never thought I would be a person who enjoyed bully romance, but the more I read, the more I enjoy it. I think the overall tension between the two main characters enhances the romance when it finally comes about. In this story, Elsa “Frozen” has been tormented since day one, though Aidan pretty much ignores her. But when these two collide it’s epic and powerful. I like their dynamic for the most part, but there were some times when I found consent to be dubious. I also feel like there is more going on with some of the side characters than we really get to see in this initial book. I’m curious to see what might come of those tensions as well.
There is a definite cliffhanger at the end of this book, which is one of the reasons why I am so eager to get my hands on book two. Some huge questions are lingering in my head and it’s both frustrating and intriguing.
Dark and interesting
I was so invested in the story. I just kept reading with great anticipation and delight. The characters aren’t sweet and fluffy. Aiden isn’t a nice guy. Elsa has her own issues. This is just a great book!

DEVIANT KING — RINA KENT
•••
plot: 5/5
characters: is 6/5 an option?
pacing: 5/5
•••
IMPORTANT: *read the author warning, lots of dark/mature content in this one (probably why i loved it so much)*
•••
this book is addictive. i read it in one sitting (at the expense of sleeping, but who needs that when you have deviant king?) this was my first rina kent book and i honestly can’t think of anything negative to say about it. the writing style was amazing and it flows really well and naturally. nothing seemed to drag or be overly expedited. also, the ending destroyed me. i’m dead now. my heart hurts.
elsa and aiden’s relationship was so enthralling, right from the start. it’s not normal… or healthy… or sane… but it’s theirs. aiden might be an actual psychopath… but i can’t get enough! 3 words to describe their scenes: angst, mysterious, H O T. i loved how they complemented each other and the character development; it started out and then escalated and i’m obsessed. and then that ending. thank you rina, you’ve officially broken me. i’m broken.
i’m also super curious about elsa’s past… it’s so mysterious and i *almost* want to look up spoilers because of the amount of suspense i’m being held in. (i won’t though, because… no). i can’t wait for her memories to come back in the next books:.. maybe her accident will trigger something.

Ooooo I love a good dark YA bully high school romance and from the get go it was evident that there were dark secrets coupled with plenty of suspense. This was my first time reading a Rina Kent book and I was soon under her writing spell. Her words just flowed and it was easy to become lost in the pages of this story.
Aiden King has it all going on… the brooding, the power, the sought after school football star that just oozes sex appeal! Unfortunately for Elsa she was on Aiden’s radar and not in a good way! Two really great characters that butted heads at every turn. Else was a strong character that didn’t take Aiden’s BS lying down!
What an ending… The epic of all cliffhangers. I’ll be jumping into book two straightaway. As for Rina’s back catalogue….? Yup! I’ll be one clicking all of those as well! If you love dark bully romance then one click this bad boy!
Hola!

My Rating: 1/4
Type: Series. Trilogy- Book1
Genre: Contemporary Fiction Romance, Bully Romances
Primary Characters: Aiden & Elsa
Narration: Dual POV
This is my first Rina Kent’s book. I picked this up after several suggestions from fellow readers in several reading group. This book definitely exceeded my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed and binge read this entire trilogy. Even though I enjoyed it, I’m slightly conflicted over my rating due to some of the initial parts of the book.
I directly picked it up without reading cruel King. Aiden is one of the school’s four horsemen and King of RES. He is cruel, crazy and have several psychotic tendencies. Title suits so well. Aiden is deviant, mysterious, dark, jerk, bully and completely obsessed with the heroine Elsa.
Elsa is called as “Ice princess” and “Frozen”. It’s not only because of her name, but her character traits resemble that. She is very protective, fierce, strong willed, defiant and loyal. I loved her loyalty to her best friend. She stands up on her own and fights back if necessary. She has kept her head down in RES for 2 years, now, in her final senior year all she wants is to work for her grade and move to her dream university.
One instance of saving her friend will make Aiden to act and his deviant nature comes out. Story takes a good turn post this. All the mystery of Aiden got me hooked. I was curious on Aiden’s hidden motive. Elsa not remembering her childhood times before the traumatic accident was topping on the cake. It added to the mystery. It took me sometime to warm up to Aiden and other horse man.
Plot and narration is good. Secondary characters actually made up to the best part of the book. Cliffhanger ending made me pick up the next book soon after this. We only get a small little smidge of the complexity of this story, yet to see how this turns out. Series is yet to bring out the mystery.
This is a quick read with complex, twisty and psycho characters. Let’s see how they all turn out and hoping to get some answers in the next part of the series.

I’ll be forever grateful to Mary Macfarlane for recommending Deviant King through her channel More To Mary. This book is everything and more! I read this book last year when I didn’t even have a Goodreads account but decided to do a review because frankly Rina Kent’s work is so underrated and that is unacceptable!
So this is a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story with a bully romance and the book 1 of the Royal Elite series, NOT a standalone. So if you hate a good old cliffy, prepare yourself to read all 3 books in one go!
So here are my thoughts if you care to spare 2 minutes and read.
~ This was my first Rina Kent book and besides Mary’s review saying that this is a dark romance with a badass alpha male I didn’t know much about the book or about the author. But I was pleasantly surprised by Rina’s writing, which is a good combination of narrative and descriptive writing styles.
~ I’m not going to do a recap of the story as it would be better if you’d go in blind. All I would say is the angst, steam and the suspense in this story is just on point! And it’s not only a love story. This book has a well developed storyline with amazing twists which would keep you on your toes! While h has a dark past that she can’t recall (except she sees fragments of those memories in her nightmares), H keeps some dark secrets to himself about his past as well. So brace yourself for some good suspense!
~Let’s talk about the H, Aiden! As the blurb says this guys is one dark, brooding, emotionless 18 y/o with some really deeply rooted childhood issues / traumas. He suffers from insomnia but unlike some H’s in other high school bully romance novels, Aiden is smart as whip. He has a knack for chess and plans to attend Harvard once he finishes high school. And he’s someone who doesn’t believe in showing the power thorough physical strength. Aiden is all about mind games ya’ll!
~ So the h Elsa, is NOT a doormat which I’m certain that the feminist halves of our souls would be really thankful! What I most like about the book is her past and the mystery it surrounds. There are very eerie nightmares described in the book related to her past. This frankly gave me the chills and goosebumps while I was reading the book! That part of the book is absolutely good!
So in a nutshell what I’m trying to say here is you need to read this gem of a book and all the other books that follows! There’s a content warning though. Make sure you read it thoroughly before you dive in.
This book is in my top 10 for 2020 and I would recommend Rina’s books to anyone who’d love to read a good old dark romance with a bad ass plot!
Until we meet again with another review, hang tight!

PS: I’ve voluntarily read and reviewed this book
This is my first book. One of my friends suggested this book and when I started reading it, I couldn’t stop untill I finished reading all of Rina Kent’s books. In the beginning, I hated Aiden but then I found my self falling for him bit by bit and in the end, I was swooning over him. He is very dangerous, calculative, makes sure that he gets what he wants no matter what. I liked how Elsa always kept her head high even when she was bullied by Aiden. I loved how hell bent he was on breaking Elsa’s shell, his obsession with Elsa. I am obsessed with the chemistry & madness in this book. I loved the bond between the four horsemen – Aiden, Cole, Xander & Ronan. Very much intrigued by Cole. The Royal Elite Series is a must read.
With this book I discovered the amazing world of Rina Kent.
This was such an amazing bully romance. There were so many elements more than just bullying in this. There was the signature Rina Kent mystery element involved.
Aiden King is the perfect bully hero. His obsession with Elsa Quinn goes deeper than mere physical reaction. But Elsa sees something in him that keeps her from hating him completely.
Till their senior year, Aiden kept away. He is determined to break her.
“Be mine and you’ll be the queen. Fight and you’ll remain a pawn.”
The chemistry is off the charts. I literally read the entire book from start to finish in one night. Their story is complicated, intense, steamy and damn HOT!
The added mystery element made the book even more exciting.
Teen angst, steamy romance and bully to lover romance – the first story in this trilogy involving Aiden and Elsa was so addictive. I couldn’t put it down!!! Read on Kindle Unlimited.
I’m still on the fence about bully to lovers trope and Aiden’s behaviour made me so mad at times. So with this, I could only give it 3 stars. But that’s just my personal opinion. I’m still going to keep reading…!
We meet Elsa, a girl who tries to keep out of the sites of the four horsemen of Royal Elite, specifically Aiden. But Aiden has other plans for her. In his near sadistic ways, he claims Elsa as his and begins to convince her that she is his. But she has memories and nightmares of a past she cannot remember and as she begins remembering, her life begins to turn upside down.
This is the beginning of the Royal Elite series and the first book of Elsa and Aiden’s story. This is mostly a build up to them being together and Elsa beginning to remember her past and who she actually is.
