Tsing has big plans for the viral program now they are back in the heart of the Empire.Plans that Lilly doesn’t agree with. But that’s the least of her concerns now that Ethan has returned. Because Lilly is sitting on a secret. And hiding it could see her tried for treason amid the ever escalating stakes of the war.Stay or run? There are no easy options left with Ethan watching her every move.
We get Ryker on Deviant Control and here we have more of Ethan (Ethan is so mine ) He was chosen as the first Controller for Lilliana by her father. Ethan is so much more, he doesn’t like to share. Even if there are two Alphas in this threesome, Ethan shows dominancy towards Ryker. I think Ryker balances the threesome, even though he listens to Ethans demands he gets his own way with manipulation.
Lillian has feelings and is affectionate to both her Alphas. They can get way too controlling and demanding which makes her rebel which her Alphas are quick to control.
At the end of The Controllers #3 (which must be read first) we saw Ryker handing Lilly over to Ethan after they reached Chimera. Lilly returns to her research role and gradually life settles into a new normal. The book explores the developing relationship between Ethan and Lilly, alongside Lilly’s gradual acceptance of what it means to be an omega. There is also subtext on how relationships suffer when partners don’t fully communicate their thoughts and feelings.
The Alpha/omega dynamic is one of dominance and submission, it’s a controlling relationship in a power exchange rather than abusive way. There are also times when actions may skirt the line of dubious consent, though all sexual activity is fully consensual. However the needs and desires of an omega means that Lilly flourishes in the relationship, although her rebellious mind sometimes gets in the way!
I quickly found myself absorbed by this story, drawn in by Lilly’s strength and determination not to be dismissed just because she is omega. Ethan proved to be a fascinating character, just as alpha as Ryker but almost the antithesis of him. What you see is what you get with Ethan, there are no games, no power plays, no subtle manoeuvrings. The author actually surprised me with how attentive and attuned to Lilly he was. His appreciation of her as more than just a prize, his genuine interest in her work and his desire to see her emotional needs fulfilled though her work showed us just what a complex and layered character he is.
We got some much needed “bigger picture”, seeing the main characters not only interacting with one another but also with work colleagues and friends. The setting was extended to include a wider variety of backdrops, such that I felt more aware of the world, more cognizant of how the different dynamics are viewed and interact with one another. More traditional omegaverse elements were woven into the story, including heats and knotting, something that had felt a little lacking in previous books.
I believe this book would be enjoyed by those who read books with elements of power exchange, such as spankings. This is also suitable for readers who like SFR too.
Can Lilly find salvation?
Or is everything she’s known truly gone?
Lilly has been saved ( I guess that’s what we are calling it )
Ethan is not a happy controller – No one plays with his toys and to go as far as to scare or harm her –
Blind rage is his only response
Now on to claim what is his
Something with Tsing is really off here – Ethan knows he is a danger to his omega and he needs to figure out why and he needs to do it quickly
We met Ryker in the last book – such a twisted Alpha – can’t help but love him he makes an appearance here and we get the deets on why our little omega has two controllers
We also get a bit of the why that was behind her pops making the decisions he did
The back and forth between these two alphas was entertaining, to say the least. Props for everyone not just slipping into a slot and calling it a day.
Ryker’s lack of self-preservation and his need to manipulate others on a purely emotional level just adds to the dominance games between these two. Ethan, in my opinion, is definitely the more dominant and he is not one to share his toys – at all. I do admit though despite his more battle-hardened aura Ethan’s concern for Lilly goes far beyond just the chemically induced physical responses.
If you take the dominance battle between our Alphas (not that there is really one but Ryker likes to play he has a chance) add-in Lilly’s battle with her omega dynamics and don’t forget Tsing’s hidden agenda and you have a recipe for disaster that is boiling over
This is one of my top series in this genre
It has a strong series plot that easily carries from episode to episode
dotted with multiple smaller plot lines that run concurrently –
Then add the couple or in this case triple who are staring in that episode and you have an engaging and entertaining read every single time
I am still curious about Lilly’s blood …
Deviant Evolution is the second part in Dr. Lillian Brach’s saga.
Ethan returns from war and Ryker is sent away. Ethan is something else… He is strong and an ultra Alpha Controller but he has a softer side—which I love! Where Ryker is manipulative in getting his ways — Ethan is a savage, he takes what he wants and he definitely wants Lilly.
Poor Lillian is an independent woman and having more than one Controller is eating at her spirit. Will she embrace her fate and her two Controllers or will she try and flee from their dominance.
I love this second installment in the Deviant saga. The characters grow and develop so much throughout the series. I cannot wait for the last part of Lilly’s story to unfold.
This book is for mature audiences only who enjoy Alpha men taking control and demanding obedience from their Omegas. This book is ultra steamy and super hot.
I am continually amazed with L.V. Lane’s storytelling. She gets better with every book and this one is the best one yet! Deviant Evolution picks up where Deviant Control left off and it’s on from page one. Ethan is everything I expected him to be and more. We get to know him pretty well in this installment and I love how unapologetic he is about doing whatever it takes to get what he wants. Ryker adds another dimension the this dynamic and, without giving any spoilers, I’ll just say that it’s interesting and surprising. In Deviant Evolution we definitely see the evolution of the three main characters as their feelings grow and change, their agendas shift and plans for the future start coming together. Dr. Tsing took somewhat of a backseat to the burgeoning relationship of the threesome, but he continued to hover ominously in the background making me nervous about whatever his plans might be. I also loved meeting some new characters and I am really hoping that Lucian gets a book. As always, the book was scorching hot! Can’t wait for the next installment!
I love that you get more of Ethan in this one. He is so possessive and he even claims a side of Lillians neck (If you haven’t read the first one to know what I mean by this, then go read it!).
I love how he is with Lillian. He has his own way of dealing with her that is almost completely different then Ryker. I also like how when Ryker pops back up you get to see how that plays out. I think my favorite part had to be when Lillian finally calls Rykers bluff.
I loved watching the development of these three’s relationship. And how these two Alphas deal with both wanting Lillian. This fourth book in the series, second in this relationship, ends in a cliffhanger. But it ends in a Happy for now kind of way. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Fantastic Conclusion!
What a fantastic conclusion to Lilly, Ethan and Ryker’s story. Once again the story is fast paced, action packed and so amazingly steamy (definitely panty melting), you may have some issues reading with one hand!
Lilly is an amazing character with tons of spunk and whit. She is fierce and independent but is also falling deeply for two very strong alphas. Ethan and Ryker are definitely super alphas. They are protective, big, sexy and very growly. Ryker is funny but a little crazy and Ethan is dark and intense. When they are together with Lilly their interactions are extremely explosive and highly combustible.
I love everything about this whole series. The writing is fantastic and the world building is amazing. I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next.
These three just keep getting better together. Ryder is crazy and hilarious and Ethan – well he’s just drool worthy. I am hooked on these characters and love the rich story underneath the seriously explosive chemistry.
Ethan has returned home to Chimera and it is time for Ryker to go on a mission. Ethan and Lillian move into Lillian’s apartment to begin her training in being controlled by her Alpha. Where Ryker was psychologically manipulative, Ethan is the real deal. He gives one warning if Lillian is lucky before he hands out the punishment. Halfway through the learning process, Ryker shows up to add his flavor to the mix.
I enjoyed the sexual and emotional development of this thruple. Each one of them is struggling with their emotional response to this unusual coupling. The constant back and forth between Ethan, Ryker, and Lillian, and their desires makes this novelette a page-turner. Reading the process of two Alphas as they realize they must share one Omega and how it fits into their usual belief system, was intriguing to me. Even in fiction, men think fighting each other will solve everything. I was engrossed in reading Ethan’s journey to discover his role in the thruple and how it fit into his image of himself. Ryker’s emotional struggle with human emotions and acceptance of his current fate is spectacular to read. If you are sensitive to manipulation/psychological mind games, bloodletting/vampirism related intimacy, or want a clean-cut HEA, this novel is not for you.
