Sometimes light can be found in the dark. Rafe is a blazing sun in the center of my universe. He’s my strength. The only man capable of healing me. He’s the love of my life. He’s also my enforcer. The strikes of his belt shield me from self-harm’s temptation, but old habits are hard to break. No matter how much light we infuse into our deviant world, we still feed off each other’s twisted desires.… twisted desires.
Now I stand before him dressed in white, on the cusp of putting my fragile heart into his hands forever.
But what if forever ends today?
What if the past isn’t finished with us yet?
We’ve gone through hell to get here, and nothing and no one is going to take this away from us.
NOTE TO READERS: Deviant is a dark romance with kidnapping and other disturbing themes. Intended for mature readers. Not for the faint of heart. You’ve been warned. Part 5 in the Condemned series.

Oh how I’ve missed Rafe and Alex! Was so happy when this landed on my kindle.
Living off the grid, Rafe and Alex are trying to fight the demons they both have. Rafe will not allow Alex to harm herself or keep the nightmares inside. Rafe being Rafe knows when Alex is hiding her demons!!! And true to Rafe style, he will get her to confess what she is trying to hide.
Once they move back to ‘the cabin’, their safe house, they get visitors. Information is exchanged and trust is broken.
Rafe knows how to cook up a steamy scene using his favorite spices, that’s for sure!! He knows just how far he can take Alex. The perfect amount of trust between the two is what is needed, Rafe will make sure of this!
Love is professed, spoken by Rafe in words that are easily spoken…without actually saying the I Love You typical words…
Consumed. Territorial. Protective. Twitterpated. Whipped. Obsessed.
But when the past comes to haunt them once again, is trust enough for these two to survive? How far will one go to ensure that Alex is theirs?

This is a quick read but I can not stress enough to read the other books in the series first. Or you will be totally confused and lost in the story.
This series as with each book gets better and darker as each one comes out. It drags you in and you feel all of the pain, heartache and even the love that Rafe and Axel share. But don’t think you know what will happen next because Gemma James will throw you for a loop and give you something that you were not expecting.
I am not going to give anything away and spoil it for anyone. I am going to say, read this series and you will understand. I will tell you that it is dark, so if you are not a fan, then please step away and read something else. But if you love a good dark story, then just aboard the roller coaster and enjoy the ride. I loved everything about it.

~~ 4.5 Deliciously Twisted Stars!~~
This fifth heart-stopping installment in Gemma James’ wildly addictive Condemned series was fanfreakingtastic!
Rafe and Alex’s toxic, torturous love saga reached soul shattering heights and catastrophic lows but as always there was not a single dull moment! This fast paced page turner is chock full of epic love, dark depravity, deliciously sadistic punishments, spine-tingling suspense, wickedly wanton erotic interludes and wondrously romantic wedding bells! And to cap it all off, a jawdropping cliffy that is not to be missed!!!!!
I simply cannot get enough of this crazy in love and oh so warped coupling and I suspect the best is yet to come in the sixth (and final?) installment, DESCENT!
Can’t freaking wait!
I can’t believe I was introduced to Gemma James and her Condemned series back in 2015 with the first book Torrent. Deviant is book 5 and it was so good to be back with Alex and Rafe. Their relationship is unconventional to say the least but it works for them. Their dark and twisted urges keep their guilt and demons away.
Rafe is darker than ever but his love and protectiveness for Alex is really what fuels him. He can and will get rough with Alex but she needs and feeds off it cause her guilt is still eating at her. She was the reason Rafe was put in jail back then because of her lies. Besides her guilt she fears he will leave her. They both struggle with honesty because of fear of hurting each other.
Their past soon catches up with them and it was a thrilling and erotic ride. It was so easy to get back in the Condemned universe. I love these two flawed and broken characters who’ll never give up fighting. For each other.
Their love and faith in each other is stronger than ever. It was good to see Rafe’s friend Jax again cause his friendship with Rafe is definitely unique too. Deviant is not the end and I can’t wait to read the next book cause I can’t get enough of Rafe and Alex.
“Love had no definition. It was the insanity that glued two hearts together, the possessiveness that gripped the soul, the inevitability that arrowed straight for the jugular.”
I was so excited to meet Rafe and Alex again!! Their dark, twisted, dirty fairytale had me hooked when I binged the series a few months ago, so there really wasn’t a choice when I got a chance to review. The thing I love most about this series, is that it may not be your typical HEA, but it’s theirs, and you can feel it when you’re reading. Their need, their desire, their unwavering devotion just pulls you right in. Now, this is not the end, so don’t go in thinking it’s all wrapped up, because it’s not. In fact, I completely thought it would be, and now I’m sitting wondering what will happen in the next book!! It really is a binge-worthy series that is kinky as all get out, suspenseful, exciting, and I always look forward to diving in!!
“This was the side of him that terrified me-the unchecked darkness that ruled his actions, the part of him that bulldozed over my defenses, annihilating my limits as if they never existed in the first place.”

What a continuation story about Rafe and Alex. I have loved the series and especially this book, but just sad I have to wait six months for the next book.
Although deviants are not rare in socio-discourse, this re-twists this. It seems romantic while it shows the cruelties. Gemma James, as an author, shines yet it needs some revising to make it more literary.
