Once again another AMAZING story by Pam Godwin!! Tate and Lucia’s story had my heart pumping the entire way. So much action! It had pain, heartbreak, and torture. Love, sacrifice and one damn good HEA!! I mean isn’t that what we really want in a romance novel?!?! Lol! Between Pam Godwins writing style and the way she tells the story, she is definitely one of the greats! Another incredible story! Heading right on in to the next one because I can’t wait even a minute to keep reading this awesome series!!!
God, I love Tate and his crusade. This book was simply amazing. Pam has grown to one of my favorite authors. I love dark reads and this is one of them. It’s crazy to think such things even exist. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you say to yourself what did I just read?
Another fantastically dark book. Love and suspense is the perfect couple. Lucia has been the baddest heroine I’ve met so far. To me she was the main character in this story. Tate was the typical alpha, overprotective and willing to do anything to save the one that means to most to him. This is series has not disappointed and I can wait for the next book.
OMG this series just keeps getting better.
Amazing characters and a dark twisted agonising story.
I have been captivated from book 1 and each book gets better but also has something different to the book before it.
The story line and character build up is exceptional, i feel like im right there with them feeling all their emotions along with them.
Tate is a alpha male, he’s been stripped of his dignity in the past, been through a lot of pain and loved someone that would never be his. Then he goes on a mission to find Lucia and it quickly takes a turn for the worse and through the small amount of time he falls completely for her.
Lucia has been missing for so long, held captive in a different way, does unspeakable things and she hates herself for it. She’s been through so much pain and then Tate finds her and their chemistry is instant, they find solace and love in each other.
This has dark and disturbing scenes and parts broke my heart, i cried for Tate and Lucia. Cant wait to read kates story now .
Tate’s story and his quest to find Lucia, Camila’s sister was devastatingly raw and heartbreaking. His love for Camila sent him on this endeavor, if only to make her happy to find the sister she thought was long gone.
Van’s involvement with Tate’s plan was a surprise and I happily rooted for Van and his actions to pay for his past sins.
The scene with Van, Tate, and Lucia in that basement will forever be imprinted in my mind as the baseline for the ultimate self sacrifice.
These books are awesome!
Hands down- the BEST in the series (so far)!! The connection between Lucia and Tate was incredibly strong, the pain and sacrifice they went through for each other and hope and determination that drove them was immense. So much action in this storyline.
Definitely my favorite and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Kate in the next book!!
When you think nothing can top the last book in the series…. Devastate does and as the title goes this story will devastate you! What an emotional roller coaster ride! 5 amazing yet chilling stars! Definitely a gripping story that will put you through the wringer. All the feels! I absolutely love Tate and Lucia and this read will stay with you for a long time. Can’t wait to read Kate’s story…
Devastate is the 4th book in the Deliver Series by Pam Godwin. This is a series that you have to start with book 1 and read in order otherwise it won’t make sense.
Let me say, what an awesome, amazing, raw, gritty, steamy, intense, spicy, epic read we get in book 4 with Tate’s story. I enjoyed it, loved every twist and turn — I dare not give anything more away( Spoilers). If you love dark suspenseful romances then this is IT for you. Although this is Tate’s story, we do get more with Van. And more characters make appearances which stay with you after the story ends. What a deliciously dark romance read. Looking forward to book 5.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Devastate is the 4th book in the Deliver series and this story had me at the edge of my seat .This novel was dark and unpredictable with some twists you won’t see coming as we are taken to the dark alleys of Venezuela.
Told in dual POV, expect to be taken on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Tate and Lucia had such intense chemistry from the moment they saw each other, yet as their relationship progressed it became so much more. They were both complex yet well developed characters and the extended characters all added support and balance to the story.
This novel was so much more than I expected. It was well-crafted and layered and will have you riveted until the very end. This was another excellent continuation to this series and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Dark Romance.
How far is too far? Warning: this book is NOT for the faint at heart. The title says it all…Devastate. The forth book in the Deliver series pulls no punches. Well maybe it does punch, a lot. Pam Godwin will test your limits and then pushes you over them. There were so many “I can’t believe she went there” moments. As I said, not for the faint of heart.
We met Tate Vades in Deliver. Once held captive as a slave in training, Tate is now part of the ‘Freedom Fighters’. A small group of former slaves started by Camila Dias that frees other slaves in capture. This is their way of coping and recovering from their captivity and sexual torture experiences. Tate wants to reunite Camila with her sister, Lucia who she believes is dead. He becomes obsessed with finding her. Camila was the one who saved Tate, freed him. He has strong feelings for Camila that he thinks is love.
“He was a survivor of captivity and sexual torture, and despite it all, he still considered himself a proud, dominant man.”
“…Camilia saved him from that fate. She freed him. Then she stole his heart.”
Tate sets out to find Lucia. Hiring Cole Hartman to help.
“What is the price you’re willing to pay?”
“Money isn’t an issue.”
“I’m not talking about money.”
They follow a chilling lead to Venezuela’s Kidnap Alley, what they find is neither a corpse nor a captive. Lucia, alive and …existing. Tate gets help from the most unlikely source. Van Quiso, yes, that Van Quiso.
“Out there, every single person is your enemy. Remember that.”
…“Trust. No. One.”
What ensues is a series of moments. Ups, downs, suspense, mystery and horror. Yes horror! Pam goes there. Fully committed. Literally, devastating. You will be on the edge of your seat. Often wondering as I did – how on earth can this have a good ending????
The ride is rough. The sex, insane. It will make you uncomfortable at times. And then she suckers us one more time….(no spoilers). So, I sit here trying to recover from my book hangover, thinking, maybe I need a RomCom next…..
5 Devastating stars
Tate Tate Tate my heart hes such a good guy considering hes been through hell and back more than once. I have to say I loved Van more in this book. Him and Tate are closer.
Lucia Dias man on man what evil shes lived with and been through. Taken than crashed saved but then put through hell as payment
Tate Anthony Vades The one he loved might of got away but the one he found is the one who owns his heart now. His love for one sister led him to fall more for another. What he went through to save her was just crazy.
Cole Hartman you know nothing but he knows everything and everybody. Hes way good at his job.
Tiago He has a deep story I cant wait to read. The evil things hes done and Why he kept Lucia. His master piece on Tates body all signs of hiss story crazy how he kept Lucia in check just sick
“I’ll find her, but it won’t bring you any closer to the woman you want.”
“I just know from experience that a broken heart is the worst kind of hell, a goddamn lonely path from which you can never recover.”
“Shes beautiful in an innocent, unintentional way, and she knows how to use that to her advantage. Something to think about when you make contact.”
“Trust. No one.”
“Stop Laughing at it,”he said, gripping the hair at her nape, “and work it into your mouth.”
“Your impatience only makes me hungrier, sweetheart.”
“I expected you to walk funny. With more of a Limp.”
“We’re doing this. Together. Us. Get that through your stubborn head.”
“The sweetness of your skin mixed with your arousal.. You’re a goddamn sinful temptation.”
“It’s karma. I’ve carried this debt for so long. For the crimes I committed against you.”
“Violence and corruption was the way of life here. Embracing it was a means of survival.”
Devastate, Book 4 in The Deliver Series, this series needs to be read in order. One of my top favorite dark series, I highly recommend!
What took me so long to read this? I was taking a break from dark romance for a bit, I’m so glad to be back to my roots.
PAM GODWIN just gets my dark heart pumping. Every. Single. Time. Devastatingly good and bad and everything in between. I love this series, then she goes and throws Van Quiso, one of my favorite dark antiheroes in the mix and I’m out of sorts, shredded, shocked, elated in twisted harmony. I’d like to say this was Tate and Lucia’s story, but I couldn’t focus on anything but Van. He stole the spotlight. I’m not even sorry. I highlighted half the book, I literally felt like jumping up and down like a high school cheerleader, no joke. Now that I got that off my chest. I’ll move on. But, yeah, Van. Ok, I need to move on.
All the characters within this series are incorporated throughout each story, it’s important to start from the beginning. Godwin does a great job of reminding you who is who in each book, a little reminder, but never the same story told twice. A recap within each story. Every character is plagued with a dark past. Tate and Lucia’s story is no different. Heartbreakingly beautiful how two shredded souls mend through love. I was on the edge of my seat from start till finish. This coupling was dark, dirty, and all kinds of hot.
“The reason was simple. She yielded to him in a way no one ever had, craved the freedom in relinquishing control. And it was in his nature to take the reins.”
Let me tell you about the story. It’s South American gangs, kidnapping, forced non-con, and twisted beyond your wild imagination. I was in awe. Is this really happening? The suspense was off the radar. Brutally written with grit pouring from the pages. I had to take breather breaks to compose myself. Pam Godwin is one of the few authors I can read third person with and not have it effect my connection to the characters. I was completely engrossed from page one and by the end my heart thumping with elation. A beautiful, tragic dark love story. I can’t get enough of this world, I’ll take a book from every character.
Pam you did it again!! You are one of the greatest dark romance writers that I have came across.
So far I think this is the best book of the series. Highly recommend reading the whole series in order:
Deliver #1 (Van/Liv/Josh), Vanquish #2 (Van/Amber), Disclaim #3 (Camila/Matias), Devastate #4 (Tate/Lucia)
All are dark & gruesome, but are forever HEA’s
Tate, what can I say about that man?? I fell in love with Tate, he is a protective, sexy, dominate, possessive, alpha male. I swooned at how he loved and cried for him when he was fighting for his love. Don’t want to give anything away so i will let it at that!
I can’t wait to read Taken #5 (Kate/?)
Awesome continuation…dare I say darker than the previous in the series? I have enjoyed this series so far and Tate’s story was really awesome. His reality is shaken but eventually love wins out. This is truly dark romance at its best!!!!
Pam Godwin is the queen of Dark Romance! Devastate, brought in a new monster that makes Van look like a saint! I loved that Van made a main role in this book, fighting along side with Tate to rescue Camilla’s sister, Lucia. The torture and stuggles that Tate has to endure at the hands of Tiago, Lucia’s captor, will make you cringe!! This is such a great addition to this series…I can’t wait to read book 5!
This book was so much more that I expected and anticipated.
I knew for a fact it was going to be good. Since the previous three books rocked.
But Devastate was so much beyond good.
This story gutted me and torn me to pieces.
Tate’s journey will forever be in my head and heart.
I already knew he was a strong man, physically and mentally. He had to be to survive his past ordeal.
He’s also loyal and so big hearted. He’s gorgeous and sexy. He’s the complete package.
What an incredible man Tate is,which again from the past books I already new.
But after reading his story he will be forever be the model of what my future book hero’s will be compared to.
The lengths he went to and the things he endured left me flabbergasted and crying my eyes out.
He is the epitome of what the word unconditional love means and embodies.
I felt so sad for Lucia living her life,if you can call that living, thinking she has no one left in the world who loves her. She’s just sludging through. Barely surviving and barely have the will to survive.
I’m trying to put myself in her position and I just can’t fathom thinking of there being no one on Earth who doesn’t care about me. What a burden on the heart and soul.
As much as I loved the previous books. I have to say Devastate is my favorite so far.
I’m also going to say it’s one of my all time favorite books.
Yes even with all the pain and suffering in the book the true meaning of the story is having hope, having faith and finding, even if it’s one person,a love so big,so true and so all encompassing that that one person is the whole world.
Wow. Tate and Lucia have left me speechless. Their journey was seriously rough. And the darkness and depravity packed a hurtful punch. I have devoured them in a matter of hours and I am reeling. The dynamics between them and they way they fell for each other fast and furious, just made the pain that much harder to bare. You knew it was going to be awful, but what her captor put her through, what he did to everyone around him was awful. I am in awe of Tate, Lucia and even Vans strength and determination to survive. At any cost. You do not want to miss this one. I cried and cursed. I even laughed for a second there. And in the end I rejoiced. I hope you all find solace and healing along with Tate and Lucia and that you enjoy it as much as I did.
Pam Godwin delivers an emotionally packed, page turning, heart thumping, edge of your seat book with Devestate. This book took dark to an entirely different level. It was twisted and depraved yet passionate and tender. Pam’s writing brought the book to life and at times some of the darkest moments were truly hard to get through. I found myself literally gripping my kindle, knuckles white. I can’t believe Tate’s story is over! I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Never has a book title been so on point on what the story will do to you – take heed, this is not for the faint of heart, and it will devastate you, as it does to the characters involved
This is the story of Tate. Born to a prostitute, orphaned young, and raised by prostitues, only to be kidnapped and sexually tortured for weeks. His time in captivity left him damaged, and by the time he came around to profess his love for his best friend, her love had returned to claim her. He then focuses on making her happy, which involves finding out what happened to her sister all those years ago. Little does he realize, her sister, Lucia, is his other half, and she has been in hell all this time
Lucia holds no hope, her life is limited, her time on earth, ticking away. She has long forgot her past, there is no one left from it. Her present makes her sick, but it is all she has, and she survives as well as she can. Her future doesn’t exist, it is only the now. When Tate shows up, she starts to feel like maybe there is something more for her, but she should have known better
This is a stand alone in a series, and a dark, twisted, angry, and violent series it is. Characters from other books, Cole is here, and from the series, Liv, and Josh are around. Van plays an important part in the book, and you get to see his softer side, though it is still pretty rough. Cole is also front and center, and still heartbroken, and we get his edgier side. It’s a good thing, and he wears it well. Camilla and Matias are here, how could they not be, but they truly are minor in it all
To say Tate and Lucia go through hell in this book is true. They are hurt, there are truly awful things that happen to them, and they fall apart. If you are of the faint of heart, or a sunshine and rainbow romance reader, this isn’t your book. If you like the dark, the true dark and heartache, where really bad things happen, and yet, our characters make it through, you can handle this. Even Van gets bad and ugly things here, and his redemption continues, as he continues to try and be an okay guy.
There is a new bad here, and he is really good at being that bad. He isn’t done yet, and he is still out there. Van’s former slaves are all still banded together, and they know, having right and might on their side, isn’t always enough. Not in this world, not where they need to be, or where they have to go. Good doesn’t always win, and even when it does, the scars run deep. In this case, there are so many scars, but they show they survived, and that is all Tate and Lucia get to cling to in the end, their scars
I’m in love with Tate.
This book was so good. I ‘ve been looking forward to this book since I read the last book. This series is really good. It is a dark read and does push my boundaries in parts. But the story is just so well written. Once I start the books I find it hard to put them down. And this book was no different.
Tate as had quite a hard life. He has had to deal with a lot. He has fought some of his past but there are still things that he can’t get out of his head. Nearly being sold to a sex trafficker being abducted held against your well and being abused well have that effect on you. Things happened that he will never get over. But there was a woman that made it a lil easier. The only thing was she could never be his. She only had eyes for her love and Tate wasnt the guy. Which hurt but would do anything for her even putting his life in danger to find her missing sister.
Lucia had been through so much that she was just living life day to day. Her sister went missing years ago her parents died then she got abducted. So he life was not goin good. Lucia now lived with the most horrible man that lived. But she needed him he and there was nothing she could do about it. Until Tate came and made her want things she never thought she could have.
I really like these characters even after everything they have been through. They still see that bit of light at the end of the tunnel. They are so strong and willing to put there lives on the edge. Like I said I can’t get enough of this series and now I m dying for the next books. The author really knows how to keep us hanging. I would highly recommend this series it just brilliant. I would recommend that you read the series in order. But you won’t be disappointed it’s a really good series every book just keeps getting better and better.
