Aidan Kerrigan is the leader of the Fenian Warriors and his loyalty to the Fae is unwavering but an unexpected mission in the human world and a chance encounter with Rose MacLaren is tempting him to discard duty and claim what is forbidden. This heartfelt fantasy romance is the stuff fantasies are made of and has readers sighing in envy and delight. The characters are strong and obviously belong together as Aidan and Rose defy death itself to claim his happily ever after. The romance is sweet, fulfilling and a true love story that captures the essence of romance – the true heart of romance.
This steady paced plot keeps readers glued to the pages as it transport readers to a magical world. The story is full of passion as Aidan and Rose get to know each other but readers can also feel the expectation of what is to come as the relationship is forbidden. This story is a delightfully charming read and so engaging that the world outside the book ceases to exist for the reader during this wonderful romance.
I was a little hesitant about reading Aidan Kerrigan’s story knowing what his future held having read about him in the previous books and knowing some of his story already. However I needn’t have worried as this book was totally mesmerizing and it kept me spellbound from beginning to end! I fell in love with Aidan and I must say I was torn at whether or not I really wanted him to go on the mission to the human realm knowing the decisions he would have to make. I shed many tears throughout this story and yes felt anger towards King Ansgar for what he put Aidan through. I loved Rose and loved her strength and tenacity. I really appreciated the way Mary Morgan ended the story and also how she included her note afterwards. I will be re-reading The Legends of the Fenian Warriors again and again, as I have the Order Of The Dragon Knights! The next book by this author can’t come soon enough for me….she is absolutely brilliant!!
Aidan Kerrigan’ and Rose MacLaren ‘s tale will enthrall the reader from the first pages and sweep one into the realm of the Fae. This is book four in Legends of the Fenian Warriors series and this author never disappoints. Settle into a comfy chair and enjoy.
Ebook from net galley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
A love destined in the stars! The greatest Fae Warrior and a inquisitive human botanist forge a love that is stronger than the great Fae magic. Love truly is the strongest power! Mary has crafted an epic love story of Fae proportions that showcases why she was meant to be a storyteller. The is some of the finest fantasy romance!
Aidan Kerrigan is a prince of the Fae. His sister is the Queen, descendants of the God Angus Og and extremely powerful. He is the powerful leader of the Fenian Warriors, guardians of the Fae and human world charged to keep the timelines in harmony. He guides the warriors and oversees the training the future warriors occasionally taking a quest into the human world. He’s been charged by his brother-in-law the King to take out a threat. It seems an inquisitive human Rose MacLaren of the Society of the Thistle, is close to discovering the origins of the Fae by examining ancient stone etchings left from the Fae’s time on earth. This cannot happen so Aiden, the Fenian warrior’s strongest & wisest warrior is charged with making sure this won’t happen. His sister, Queen Nuala who has the gift of sight, cautions him that she sees two paths for him, both leading to destruction! So this is his mental set as he travels to earth in 1986. Little does he know he’s about to meet a woman who will hold his heart and he’ll have to give up his Fae heritage to become human to be with her.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Yes Yes YES!! People , ya gotta read this author’s stuff!!!
Oh Mary!
What tales and magic you have woven in this creation!
This is the stuff of legends woven upon paper and with ink for those like me to enjoy and think “what if……” And we all know legends and myths have / are made with some truth interwoven.
I loved this tale of Aiden and Rose.
I’m off to my next adventure courtesy of you Mary( I have 3 more of your works awaiting my perusal, this being my first)
This is my first read by Mary Morgan and I’m looking forward to reading as many of her books as I can in the future!
LOVED IT!!Mary Morgan
Mary Morgan has done it again. Ms. Morgan introduced me to historical, Celtic paranormal and fantasy romance. Since then, I have read all of her books (no necessarily in order- but that doesn’t natter) and this book has become my very favorite. Aidan is the Leader of the Fenian Warriors who lives for his job until… Rose’s strength shows him what love can do.
Rose and Aidan are wonderful characters you can’t help but cheer them on. The story will suck you in and refuse to let you go until you reluctantly turn the last page with a sigh sorry to see it end. I love stories that make you feel you’re on the journey with the characters. Descriptions so vivid you can see, feel and smell them.
If you love romance, secrets, twist and turns with strong heroes and heroines then you are going to love Destiny of a Warrior! Are you still sitting there staring at this review? What are you waiting for? Secure your copy today and join Aidan and Rose’s adventure! You’ll be so glad you did. Oh, did I mention the love scenes sizzle right off the page?
Aidan Kerrigan is the leader of the Fenian Warriors and takes his duties very seriously. When he is told he must go to the human realm for what could be a disasterous mission he is not happy. Unfortunately when his King and the Seer say it’s got to be him he has no choice but submit to destiny.
Rose MacLaren is a member of the Society of the Thistle. Most of the women in the society are decendents of the original members from hundreds of years before. Some have special gifts. Rose has had a recurring vision which is unusual. It always involves the same man and the standing stones.
Our hero is a Fae of strong beliefs and an iron will. Our heroine and her sister love to investigate historical places and plants.
This is a magical romance full of fun and wonderful characters.
I have read all the books in this series. Because our hero can travel through time you can read this alone or inbetween any of the others.
I loved each book.
It’s been a while since I’ve read about the Fenian Warriors and it was nice to return to their world. The author gives us Aidan and Rose’s story, and to do it, she takes us back in time when Aidan was still leader of the warriors. Aidan’s story is as intense as the man himself, and his love story is one for the ages. Aidan’s story could easily be read before the others – as things that happen in this book affect the other warriors, so even though it’s the 4th book in the series, it could easily be the first. Rose MacLaren is a strong, smart and beautiful heroine, well matched to Aidan.
The author writes an intricate world, full of detail and you feel like you are standing in the Fae realm as she pulls you into this story along with her characters. It’s hard to forget these warriors, and if you haven’t read any of this series, then I really believe you are missing out. Highly recommended.
Outstanding…..absolutely outstanding! I cannot find the words to say how much I loved this story and how much I adored Aidan and Rose. Such amazing and strong characters, she as a human and he as a Fae Warrior. Their love for each other consumed me and I felt every emotion they felt….that’s how good the writing is!
You will be brought into a world filled with magic and secrets of the ancients, the Fae. You will also be brought into the human world where one woman is close to discovering their secret. When Aidan is sent to stop her, his heart takes over everything he has ever been taught and believed in. His love for Rose will make him choose the human world but at such a horrific cost, he may not even survive it! Only Rose can bring him back….
Oh and another thing….I just KNEW Nessie was real!!!!! lol
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
If you’re a Mary Morgan fan, like me, this is the book you’ve been waiting for. The legend of Aiden Kerrigan and his great love for Rose was only hinted to, up to this point.
In Destiny of a Warrior, we get the full impact of their strength, determination, and passion.
I’m at a loss for words. You must read this book.
If you aren’t a Mary Morgan fan yet…what are you waiting for?
Aidan Kerrigan’s moral compass leads his every thought, feeling and emotion. As the leader of the Fenian Warriors, he has a responsibility to be an example to those men he mentors. There is no space for emotion, yet alone love. But when a situation surfaces, he’ll have to use every ounce of willpower to resist the alluring beauty Rose MacLaren, a Society of the Thistle member. What she uncovers will change both fae and human realms forever. Aiden pushes away her advances but in a moment of clarity, he realizes his destiny is walking through life with Rose. Will she accept him as the man he is and will she wait for him when he sacrifices all for her love?
I have read snippets of Aiden’s and Rose’s love story in past books and I was so excited when Mary Morgan told me she’d written their story. I had high expectations and was interested in how the story would play out. I was not disappointed. In fact, I truly believe this is Mary Morgan’s best book to date.
Continuity is a huge thing for me, especially when it comes to a series. I remember certain details from previous books and in Destiny of a Warrior, these threads are woven throughout the story. Even small details are brought forward with more clarity in this book. Well done, Mary Morgan!
The reason why I say this is the best book of Mary Morgan’s career is the emotional attachment the reader feels for the characters. There are several obstacles which Aiden and Rose have to overcome before they can be together. Aiden must open his heart to the possibility of love while Rose must open her spirit to the magic within Aiden. The struggle is real within them both and there were times I cried aloud for them to confess their true feelings for one another.
There’s one scene where Rose is close to breaking down, her heart split open and anguish pouring out, where I hugged my tablet and wept with her. The emotion coming from the words written pierced my soul and I let my emotions take over. This reaction is a rare one for me and I applaud Mary Morgan for an excellently written story.
If you’re looking to be transported to Scotland and Ireland, complete with a magical love story and one act of defiance which will shake the Fae realm for years to come, pick up Destiny of a Warrior today. Highly recommend!
Favorite Character/Quote:
“Rose was his land—his home. A part of him fractured with the realization. When did his world tilt off its axis? There was no firm compass anymore. No sure direction, save one. Rose.”
My Rating: 5 stars
Destiny of a Warrior (Legends of the Fenian Warriors Book 4)
There have been 3 books I have read that have stayed with me forever, I remember the year’s I read them, where Iread themm, the music I listened too when I read them, the joy, the journey, the sacrifice & sorrow but most of all the Love.
This Is Aiden “You met him in the Order of the Dragon Knights. Now, journey to the realm of the Fae and witness their greatest legend!”
This is Rose’s , Rose MacLaren, a Society of the Thistle member, yearns to expand her botanical knowledge with her love of history.
In a mystical world ruled by ancient laws and edicts, can a fierce warrior choose a path destined for love? And will a woman honoring the ways of the land believe in a myth only spoken of in legends? If they do, will their love be enough to defy death’s punishment?
Destiny of a Warrior is for me one of THE best stories Mary Morgan has written In my opinion, I would recommend this series & the dragon Knight series, to anyone who believes in the magic & strength of Love.
This Story touched my heart my soul will stay with me always.
It’s a Must read Don’t take my word for it read it for yourself
I was given this book as a gift, I was not compensated nor asked
to review this book, The Opinions of this book are my own.
Sometimes you must go back to the past to clearly understand the events of the present. Mary Morgan’s Destiny of a Warrior is an excellent example of this very thing Not so much the distance past, just to the year 1986. This is well before the time of Aileen, the heroine of Dragon’s Knight’s Medallion, her story or her travels but yet she is a part of this one too. This is of course, Rose McLaren’s and Aidan Kerrigan’s story of loyalty, duty, sacrifice and love. One book is not dependent on the other but I dare anyone to read one without wanting to read the other.
Well, Mary Morgan has outdone herself with this true gem of a story. A great love story that will stick with you long after the last page is finished. With it also comes warnings and wisdom, such as, “With love comes pain, regardless of the great joy,” or “Power is fleeting. Love is everlasting.” Rose and Aiden, you will not be forgotten.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The fourth book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series a book that makes you feel like you are there watching it happen. There was a point when I felt like if I could I would do some harm to the Fae for what they where doing to Fenian Warrior Aidan Kerrigan. This is Aidan Kerrigan and human Rose MacLaren, a Society of the Thistle member’s story. I recommend this book.
I bow down to Mary Morgan for her tenacity in writing Aidan Kerrigan’s story, at long last. He so deserved his story to be told, and who better than Mary to tell it.
Aidan is a Fenian Warrior, not only that, but a leader to the Fenian Warriors. He is out to prove he can do anything, strength, endurance, power, and yes even stand alone with love he didn’t know he possessed. .
But what he doesn’t know there is a little someone Rose MacLaren, who has foresight, and she sees him in her dreams.
I wanted to scream, cry, and help Aidan, but he had to find out the hard way, what the strength of one woman can do… for love; and what he was willing to do for love….
This is a intense, enthralling, painstakingly, magical, darkness, motivated story. It weaves you in and tangles the mind and body with what will happen next, and when it it does??
It is so worth reading the outcome.
If you love romance, secrets, lies, and strong heroes and heroines, then you will love this.
What would you do for love?
Thank you Mary Morgan, I truly loved his story, Aiden deserved it.
A love story that rivals the best! It plucked all my heartstrings.
The story captures the light of love, its purity of heart and its strength to endure when all appears lost. By following their hearts, Rose and Adrian must overcome unsurmountable dictates of the Realm.
If you have been following Mary Morgan’s two series, Destiny of a Warrior will encourage another go-around reading both.
Morgan’s world building puts you in the thick of things—caught between the Fae Realm and earth. It’s fast-paced with snappy dialogue, and rich scenes making her world so believable, it is no longer fantasy.
Rose MacLaren is a determined, intelligent character with her feet on the ground and her mind searching for aliens who might be among us. She also has seizures which produce visions she can’t make sense of. Rose belongs to a society of women learning about herbs used in the past which brings her very close to a dig she gets to see, while her sister takes plenty of pictures. This is Rose’s opportunity to pursue a theory she has involving some etching she saw on one of the stones in a stone circle. Could it be more than etchings, perhaps the ancient writing Ogham?
Travel between realms with Adrian, a Fenian Warrior and Fae, to Scotland and Ireland discovering his destiny in the arms of Rose MacLaren.
You will be in the depths of despair when the Fenian Warrior breaks Fae rules. Love is paramount and punishment must be endured. Make sure to add tissues to your grocery list. You will empty a box in sympathy for their plight. And I loved every minute!
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author, and I am completely blown away! She has a way of writing that pulls you right in and allows you to visualize this sometimes strange world that she has constructed so beautifully. She shows rather than tells, and we really get to know the characters and their struggles in an intimate way that feels real. The level of the prose is exceptional. It is lyrical and poetic but still accessible. The writing just flows and charms you so that you willingly follow the magical, fantastic journey. Rarely have I read such exquisitely written paranormal fantasy romance. I love, in this book, the blend of Irish mythology and stories with 1980s Scotland. Two of my favorite places to visit! Aiden and Rose came across as so real in their goals, motivations, and conflicts. Their chemistry was there in spades. The tension, both romantic and otherwise, was palpable and seemed true to the characters and the story arc. I read and review a lot of books, and this is one of the times that I actually went and bought several of the author’s books so I can continue to live in the world that she creates. Just exceptional. I am looking forward to more!
