Death. It’s all I’ve ever known. All I’ve ever cared about. That is until I found a broken boy in a shed; back torn open, bones broken and gritting his teeth, fighting the pain like a champ. I cared. It was the first I remembered caring since I was six years old.My брат. My brother. The reality is I suck at being an assassin. Well, let me clarify. I’m great at the killing, not so great at the not … killing, not so great at the not caring part.
I’m not as lucky as my брат. I didn’t meet a woman who could live with me in the dark. This girl is all light.
Now I’m going to lose everything.
… And I can’t fight it. I don’t want to. She lit a fire that’s inextinguishable.

I love this book so much!
This book actually hit my heart and soul much deeper than I expected! I’ve been waiting for Bry Ann to give us Anatoli’s story, and boy was it worth the wait!! The pain, sadness, guilt in this story is heartbreaking, but the kindness, friendship, support and deep, deep-felt love is so strong between the characters, I couldn’t help wishing they were all my friends for real. This book is one of, and quite possibly the best of Bry Ann’s that I’ve read…..I actually cried when I finished reading, it was so touching. I highly recommend you read it!
WOW sorry but I need a minute to gather my thoughts so I do this book some justice, I’m speechless right now.
Addy has had a really bad life so far. She bounced from foster home to foster home for years until she landed in one NO child should EVER be in. She was forced to do stuff, bad stuff at only nine years old. Who does this to a child?? This guy did and it shaped Addy to be a shy, unsociable, beautiful young woman with a mission. Then her past comes back to haunt her at the same time she meets someone that makes her feel things she has never felt before.
Anatoli is an assassin. Has been for years but lately he has started to soften a bit especially since meeting Tobias, Alex and Scarlett. When his friend asks him to come visit her and look around the foster home she runs/owns he agrees but the last thing he was expecting was to meet a beautiful, shy woman. When there paths cross again a few weeks later in another state he can’t help but wonder what she is hiding but knows whatever it is has her extremely scared. Now he has made a decision, one he knows certain people will not be happy with, that will set his life on a different course. One that he never expected.
Bry Ann, in my opinion, is an amazing author. She has a way of getting you hooked even before the book is even live. Her style of writing is a bit darker with a twist and I love it. She has a way of making the reader, like myself, feel every emotion the characters feel and then some. When reading her stories I find myself pissed, crying at times and laughing even at the darker parts of the story. I’m looking forward to reading a lot more from her.
Best lines in the book… “It is okay not to be okay. It’s okay not to be perfect. It’s okay to struggle and show the world you’ve been a little or a lot scarred. No one can help you if nobody knows.”
Bry Ann is that one author that makes me cry EVERY time. Every. D@mn. Time. Anatolia and Addy tug on your heartstrings and make you grateful for the life you have lived. They are beautifully flawed and exquisite when they come together. The emotions this book pulls from you leave you breathless and wanting, heart overflowing and praying the book will never end! Superb job Bry Ann!
