Nope!
Fast forward forty-seven years. Bonnie unexpectedly passes after a night of hot sex and is whisked up to Purgatory, ‘The Green Room’ as they call it. Bonnie’s best friend meets her at the pearly green gates and the fun begins, from body sculpting to channeling.

Bonnie McMillan and Peter Hampton meet at Woodstock, 1969 and it’s lust and love at first sight. After a lifetime of being together Bonnie unexpectedly dies and leaves Peter alone for the first time in 47 yrs. But not for long. After Bonnie meets her best friend who died a few years before her and is whisked away to the Green Room, she’s determined to learn how to channel so she can connect once again with Peter. Undead shenanigans ensue.
Have you ever wondered what happens when someone dies? Do they go to Heaven? Hell? Purgatory? Nowhere? Well, in this story some people go to the Green Room which is kind of like a naughty kinky sexy Purgatory. I think the brevity of the story shortchanges the depth a bit, but it’s steamy and pretty damn funny and yet at the same time there’s parts that are heart breaking. If there is a Green Room in the great beyond then I think I’d enjoy going there. I’m looking forward to reading book 2!
I give Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 1) by JD Frettier, 5 stars.
Bonnie is a hippie at heart, she always has been. But after a long life together with husband, the unthinkable happens. She passes away. Now she’s with her best friend in what they call the green room. All her friend can think about is sex with the gorgeous men who have passed before them. All Bonnie can think about is her husband. She wants to be with him in every way possible. Adjusting to life after death isn’t easy. But giving up their sexual fun? Never!
This is a fun, extremely different take of what happens after you die. From making sure their sex toys are hidden from their kids to what to do all day in the green room, it will make you think twice as to what really happens in the afterlife. It is so well written and among the hot scenes, made me laugh so much. I quickly breezed through this book because it was so enjoyable. It is sad that Bonnie is separated from her husband, but she finds her way to make herself known. Besides the comedy and romance, you find a couple destined to be together. It also teaches us not to take life too seriously.
This is romance with sex, but it is also hilariously amusing and fun. A short read, this is for you if too I like to stretch the boundaries of your reading genres. Needless to say it is for the adult crowd.
I was pleasantly surprised while reading this quick, funny and tug at
your heartstrings story. Bonnie passes away then her new adventure
begins. She meets some quirky people, a skilled plastic surgeon, a
Tarrot reader and her guide thru her experiences, her friend Dee are
there to get her thru. I can’t say much more without revealing the plot,
but I assure you, it’s a book worth reading with the added bonus of making
you laugh at death in spite of the dark subject and a love that never dies.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterllife by J.D Frettier, is the first installment of The Green Room Chronicles. Although a short story, the storyline is well written. Bonnie passes away after a sensual night with her husband of 47 years. Dee, Bonnie’s best friend who passed away 8 years ago, is waiting for her at “The Green Room,” which is the waiting room before you are assigned to heaven or hell. During Bonnie’s wait, she reminisces about her life and what may happen now that she is gone from her family’s life. Dee shows her around the “The Green Room” and what it could add to Bonnie’s journey before the fate of her soul is decided. I enjoyed reading this quick, short story. Very enlightening and original that will make you think about the after-life.
Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine by JD Frettier and book 1 of the Green Room Chronicles. It was a short, quick read. I thought the book was well written.

I thought this book was a very good read.

The Green Room Chronicles

By J. D. Frettier
This is a funny romance story, involving the after life. While funny, this book is not for those under 18. Due to sexual content and adult situations.

Ok, so going in to this book I had absolutely no idea what I was in for, I kind of got the idea it was going to be paranormal kind of read with a twist and I was right! Paranormal with a humorous twist. I’m a bit weird about the ‘after life’ so wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it but I have to say the book was such a fun read. It was only a short read but that didn’t mean the story was lacking. The pace was fast, the writing good and I really enjoyed the characters.
I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for something a little different to read and I am looking forward to more from this author in the future.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in The Green Room Chronicles series by J.D Frettier. I didn’t know what to expect going into this book because I had never read any of Ms. Frettier’s stories before now, and when I researched her (ok, I admit it- I stalked her) to see what else she has done, this appears to be her debut novel? If that’s the case, what a brilliant introduction- as well as a superb and polished debut.
Even though this is a novella sized story, there is nothing lacking in the content. There was quite a lot to the storyline, and I never felt like I was missing information or that the story was rushed or cut short in any way like some novellas can be. It is a very quick and easy read and when the end came I wanted more, not because it was lacking, but because I enjoyed the story.
We meet Bonnie who had died after a kinky night with her beloved husband of 47 years. She is met at the “Pearly Gates” and introduced to ‘The Green Room”, by her best friend Dee- who had died 8 years earlier. The Green Room is the waiting room/checkpoint where souls are held till they are assigned to go to heaven, or hell. Bonnie has time to do some reflecting on her life- and we tag along as she remembers it all. Her soulmate Peter and how they met at Woodstock, their time at college, moving into a Hippie Commune, then the birth of their children, working, and her life up till having the fatal heart attack. She tries to come to terms with leaving her soulmate behind- and worries about things that she didn’t do- especially about whether her children will discover her stash of sex toys. As she is reminiscing, Dee shows her all the wonders The Green Room has to offer- and so her ‘adventure’ begins….
As you can probably imagine, there were quite a few laugh out loud moments to be had throughout the book. But there were also some more thought-provoking elements too. The storyline is very original, clever, and quirky. The characters are well developed and endearingly zany. I loved the ‘energy’ they gave the whole storyline. This is a character driven story, and the characters are definitely the real gems here.
A light-hearted, fun, and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the afterlife!
I’m ready to jump into the next book ASAP!
Thank you, Ms. Frettier!
This book was so much fun! Bonnie and Peter meet in Woodstock in 1969. The fall in lust/love and have been together ever since until she dies and leaves Peter after 47 years. Bonnie meets up with her best friend who previously died and takes her to the kinky green room where she can reconnect with Peter.
I think this is something we all wonder about when we die. What lies ahead when we are no longer on this earth? Is there a heaven or a hell? This book took a hilarious approach to purgatory (aka the green room) and frankly I really want to see the green room lol.
I loved everything about this book. It was hilarious, steamy, and it definitely pulled at your heart string. I cannot wait to dive into book 2!
Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 1) by JD Frettier is a pun in cheek tale of the after-life and is a witty and fun and really really short read. The characters are well written and their antics will see you falling in love with them. Laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of it all will lift your spirits. If the Green Room really does exist then we all have something to look forward to.
Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine by JD Frettier is the first book in The Green Room Chronicles series. This book has me laughing out loud more than once.
Bonnie never expected that a night of fun would end in her death. However when she is greeted by her very dead best friend she accepts her new situation. However the afterlife isn’t at all like she thought it would be.
The start of her death is the start of her hilarious antics in her quest to find an old flame. She also had to try and figure out a way to stop her kids from finding certain X-rated objects that she would prefer them not to see. Whoever thought the afterlife would be boring has clearly never met Bonnie.
This book was brilliant. The blurb entertained me enough but Bonnie and her exploits are the type to have you laughing out loud. This was a great new view on what to expect in the afterlife and I sure hope that this is exactly how it turns out to be!

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in the Green Room Chronicles by J.D. Frettier. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say it is the most unique book I have every read. This rom-com is full of steamy situations and hilarious recollections. We meet Bonnie McMillan as she is passing into the afterlife. Her best friend, Dee, who passed away years earlier is there to help her with the transition to life in “The Green Room”. This short story had me hooked from the very first page. The witty dialog and funny but sensitive topics discussed had me thinking, I hope it is truly like this after I pass. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series, I hope it continues in the truly entertaining vein.

5 Stars!!!!!
When I first read the blurb about this book I wasn’t quite sure what to think but upon reading it I find that it was quite a delightful short book and that it was very well written. The whole sort of plot line is so unique and has such a lighthearted flow to it. I was very much hooked from the first chapter. I have to admit it wasn’t what I was expecting.
To see this from Bonnie’s perspective was very fascinating. I was quite intrigued by how the author put to life the idea of the afterlife and sex. I find that this is a very unique and refreshing book. I will most definitely be reading more from this author in the future and this series. It definitely takes a heavy subject and puts it to light and I really enjoyed this book and the plot.

5 Amazingly Awesome stars
Oh my goodness, not sure where to start with this review…I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I clicked this book and I will admit that I judged it by the title and the cover..The cover is like Amazing and the size of the book had me thinking ok I have to take a chance on this…Well let me just say that I was right and I absolutely did not want it to end.
I’m not going to go into too much detail of the plot but I will say that I could picture Bonnie and in so many ways saw myself in her thoughts and her actions. Being married for well over half my own life had me feeling all the feels that went into this storyline and had me actually picturing it all in my mind…This author took just the right amount of word space to draw you in and completely understand the feelings and the happenings. My heart broke in some parts but in others I was laughing so hard at the channeling scenes…I think though that the thoughts she was having about her kids got me the most…I could seriously see me wanting to find a way to communicate things to my husband, kind of like a to do list when I’m gone for the kids…Now if you are thinking of reading this and just not sure…Take the chance…It was done in the most amazing way, still touching on the sadness, yet handling it all in a way that made it such a perfect read.
I’ve read a few things now by the author behind this name under other names…I’m now sitting here channeling my thoughts trying to let her know that she has a new forever fan, no matter what the book, what name she writes under she has made my automatic one click list and I can’t wait to read the next, and I sincerely hope there are many more to come in the Green Room series because I will be first in line for all of them 🙂
LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!

I stumbled across this book on amazon and I couldn’t pass it by, it’s an incredibly short story with what seemed to me a light, fun and even unique storyline. This isn’t a topic I’ve read much about yet.
The story was fun from beginning to end with enjoyable characters. Since the story is so short I really don’t want to say too much of the storyline and risk spoiling anything. It’s definitely a light, fun read I’d recommend to friends. I look forward to reading more from JD Frettier.
Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine by J. D. Frettier
Bonnie passes away and her soul leaves her body to enter the Green room led by her friend Dee. She is overwhelmed and trying to take it in while also grieving the separation from her husband Peter. This short book was a hilarious and interesting read. Definitely not for those under 18 since it has several erotic scenes but it was very enjoyable. Readers will laugh the entire time they read.
