WANTED: A ROOMMATE Requirements1.Don’t be a smoker. That’s gross.2.Don’t be a jerk. I have no time to deal with your mood swings.3.Clean up after yourself. Is it really so hard to put dirty clothes where they belong? If you meet these qualifications, call me.Sincerely,Desperately Seeking RoommateWhen I put the ad in my university’s newspaper, the last thing I ever expect is for the star football … the last thing I ever expect is for the star football player to respond.
From what I know of him, Abel Russo is a womanizer and an absolute jerk.
Sadly, he’s the only thing stopping me from being evicted by my annoyingly gleeful landlord.
It should be easy enough—there’s no chance we’ll fall for each other. But then he gives me lingering looks, and I might just be looking back.
All I wanted was a roommate, but I’m about to get so much more than I bargained for.

Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer is the story of Lou and Abel.
This of course is a college romance that is funny and a easy read. Lou is looking for a roommate due to her landlord being on her. Abel is looking for a place to stay to get away from his family and friends…or at least not to be ‘under their feet’. Both are total opposite where Abel is into a football jock, Lou is the more into food being more of a home body I thought. But they ended up finding some things to connect over…not to mention the attraction that was building.
Overall a easy no real drama read.
I really found this book enjoyable, the mail characters were perfect and complemented each other well. Lou is a smart, strong, sassy, confident woman who has the occasional insecurity slip up and get to use but overall she was comfortable with who she was and comfortable in her own skin. She is in search of a new roommate and as date would have it she gets Abel, the sexy jock who is known all over campus by his antics. Those so called antics couldn’t be further from the truth because he is deep down, a sweet, kind, loving guy with impeccable manors. They had intense chemistry that was off the charts. I laughed so much at this book and could totally relate to Lou I’m so many levels especially her love for food. Great Read!

Desperately Seeking Roomate was such a fun introduction to Micalea Smeltzer!! This book was an adorable read with fantastic, quirky characters, tons of giggles and a beautiful love story.
Lou needs a new roommate and being that she’s rather desperate to avoid eviction, she can’t afford to be choosy. Sure she’s in the take it or leave it category but the last person she expected to answer her ad was a super popular football player.
Abel is more than he seems and is more than ready to improve his living situation and his life! Moving in with a chick was weird at first but his new roommate is slowly starting to occupy more than the room nextdoor; she’s taking up residence somewhere in the vicinity of his heart! He just has to convince her!
This story includes one of the funniest cases of mistaken identity ever and the laughs kept coming after that. I loved Lou (and BFF Miranda who was a hoot!) and Abel! Fantastic, richly layered characters who felt entirely relatable! Throughouly enjoyed my first Smeltzer book and I’m certain they’ll more added to my collection soon!

What can I say about Desperately Seeking Roommate? ITS ONE OF THE BEST ROM-COMS EVER CREATED! Seriously, this book was AMAZING! Fun, snarky, sweet, charming, witty and FREAKING FABULOUS, I ADORED the ever loving tar out of it!
This book made me sigh and melt. I LOOOOVED the heroine and the hero was EVERYTHING I had hoped for and more. The romance crackled with energy and the characters sure did draw me in and the story was PHENOMENAL. The story was captivating and engaging and was REALLY good. A DEFINITE MUUUUUUUUUST READ!
I give Desperately Seeking Roommate a FABULOUS FIVE OUTSTANDING STARS!
I’ve never heard people talking about this book by Micalea Smeltzer and they have to start talking about this. It was so freaking good. I absolutely loved the whole world set up. Lou is such a fun ball, she is such a sunshine. I absolutely adore her and Abel just brought out the best in her. I loved Miranda and the thing she did at the end. Love, absolutely loved her. Damn!!! I will definitely be reading her book.
This is such a sweet and hilarious book! Desperately Seeking Roommate is a roommates to lovers, college romance book with a swoony quarterback hero and a quirky plus-size heroine! This book hit so close to home and for that, I couldn’t help but love it! It’s one of the funniest books I’ve read in a long time and I adored it so much!
Lou is my girl! I saw bits and pieces of myself in her and I honestly want to be even more like her! She is confident and so beautifully herself. She isn’t afraid to be weird and different and she embraces her quirks. From the very beginning, I connected with her and I really enjoyed her story!
Abel is amazing too! He is super sweet and not your typical jock. He’s determined to focus on football and his future so he’s given up women for the next year. He totally didn’t expect to fall for his new roommate! This man is such a sweetheart and I couldn’t get over him! I need an Abel in my life!
These two were hilarious together and they meshed so well! From the cute babysitting moments to the sweet Netflix nights I was hooked by them! And y’all that epilogue totally got me! It was so sweet and the perfect ending to this story! I’m excited to jump into Miranda and Jamie’s story next!
This was an interesting book. You should leave things up to fate. You never know where it will take you.
I loved Lou and Abel together. They could have a laugh, but also be very serious.
I highly recommend this book.
Who is Lou? Where does she live? What does she do for a living? What is she doing right now? Who is Miranda? How do she and Lou know one another? Who are Abel, Justin, Kelley, and Jamie? What happens when Miranda sends an email for Lou that she was working on? Why does Lou freak out? I think Jamie is smarmy. Oh, I like Abel! Especially when Jamie is there. I do not like Danika. The grocery store scene had me laughing so hard. Okay, the dining hall is even funnier with Tanner, Abel, Kit, and the boys! See what Kit and Danika do and why. I did not expect this level of funny when I started reading, but romcom this is to the nth percent!!! You must read this book!

Jamie is everything and more……swoon
We go into this book utterly convinced jamie is an absolute jerk, but what we find is someone completely different hes built up so many walls over the years due to a heartbreaking past its understandable hes who he is ,until the amazing Miranda sees through these walls and looks at the real Jamie.
Oh how i love this girl she had me laughing so hard and her confidence is perfect i loved how the relationship between them grew and how perfect the characters are together.

A new-to-me author and narrator, I can’t express how much I loved this romantic comedy! Lou is looking for a roommate and has quite an interesting list of qualifications/rules. When fate sends Abel, Mr. Popular football player, her way the stars have aligned because they are the best opposites attract, perfect-for-each-other couple! I love that Lou and her bestie are not portrayed as “barbie dolls” but rather flaunt their curves, love to eat and are totally confident in who they are. Their personalities, especially Lou’s, had me laughing out loud with all the quirky and witty things she say and do. This friends-to-lovers romance was hilarious, but it also had sweet and honest moments and very relatable issues of acceptance and trust that comes along with new love. Because of Lou, I will always strive to be a pink Starburst!
Listened to on audio: Narrated by Addison Barnes, she was so entertaining and gave so much life and personality to Lou, as well as her vast array of voices for the secondary characters. It truly was such a fun and entertaining listening experience.
OH MY GAWD!!!!
I listened to this story in audio. That narrator was perfect, that story was perfect, I loved everything!
DSR had a little bit of everything. This was my first time reading or rather listening to a story by this author and I am so happy with the outcome. I’ll definitely be reading more books by this author.
I’m going to need to go pick up the actual book so I can highlight favorite quotes and parts of the story. … who am I kidding the whole book would probably highlighted.
Omg I loved this so much!! This book was exactly what I needed! It was sweet, funny (and without trying too hard). I connected so much with the Lou and I absolutely LOVED her confidence despite the hate shown to her because of her curves!! And be still my heart because Abel was the absolute best and he was was a fantastic male lead.
This book delivered on so much and I am so happy I finally got a chance o read it! It’s a book that needs more attention because it’s so good!
Desperately Seeking Roommate was a sweet, hilarious RomCom that will leave you amused. This friends to lovers or should I say roommates to lovers college romance was heart-warming, sexy and at times steamy with lots of sassy banter that I really did enjoy. I loved the main characters and the side characters. Quirky, over the top, swoony they had it all. My only issue with the story was that the h fell for the “trap” too easily when it was obviously a setup. I would recommend this story to those looking for a light, easy read.
I listened to the audible version of this story which was narrated by Addison Barnes. Addison’s portrayal of the male voice was excellent and I enjoyed it however the female’s voice felt young and it took me a while to get used to it. However after a while I did enjoy the narration.

NO SPOILERS!
Desperately Seeking Roommate was a fun, sexy, hilarious, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I very much enjoyed the storyline and characters Micalea Smeltzer created! It had been a while since I read anything from Micalea, and I’m so glad I jumped back into her books with Desperately Seeking Roommate. Abel and Lou, as well as a few secondary characters, were fantastic, and I loved reading their story from beginning to end. I’m definitely looking forward to reading Desperately Seeking Landlord!
Lou and Abel are so cute! Lou is quirky and funny, awkward at times, and open and honest. She’s desperate for a roommate and Abel turns out to be so much more than she was expecting. These two are great together! I loved their games and their chemistry. They kept me giggling and smiling throughout their story. It’s cute, sweet, sexy, and fun. I truly enjoyed it.
I may be old enough to be Lou’s mother, but I want to be like Lou when I grow up. She knows she doesn’t have the “perfect” body, but she loves herself and is a strong woman. She also has no filter and she’ll make you bust out laughing many times throughout the story. When faced with a situation out of her control, she takes charge and get things handled. This time, she needs to find a roommate. Her new (sleazy) landlord has raised the rent and she can’t afford it on her own. Putting an ad on her University’s newspaper, she hopes for the best, but pretty much expects the worst. Her needs are simple,
“Requirements:
1. Don’t be a smoker. That’s gross.
2. Don’t be a jerk. I have no time to deal with your mood swings.
3. Clean up after yourself. Is it really so hard to put dirty clothes where they belong?”
Abel, star of the University’s football team is tired. The senior outgrew college frat life and decided to concentrate on getting good grades, getting his degree, and doing well on the field. To help focus, he moved out of the place he shared, and into his sister’s spare room. Only problem? He can’t concentrate with his niece and nephews running around. A roommate ad catches his eye and he calls the number listed. Lou and Abel meet up and decide that they can tolerate each other enough to be roommates.
This book is so very, very good!! You fall in love with the characters, the writing is amazing, the story engaging. I didn’t want to leave Lou behind, but she got her HEA and we got a glimpse at her and Abel’s life 5 and 10 years down the road. I truly love my rom-coms and this is a new fave. I’m already recommending Lou and Abel’s story to others and getting them hooked on Ms. Smeltzer’s writing.

Able and Lou are hilarious and romantic. I loved the adventure of falling in love with these two. I connected with the characters and loved the cheer song Lou does for Able. Recommended for someone who wants heat and laughter in their romance.
Roommate, Jock, nerdy, friends-to-lovers
If I didn’t have to work I would have devoured this book in one sitting. The heroine is hilarious, wonderful and caring and the hero is all you can ask for in a good guy. Their path to HEA is a banter worth swooning over. Grab this book and enjoy. I certainly did.
Shut up with this book! It’s so freaking good. The writing, the characters, the story. Everything. I was swoon worthy and hilarious. Just my kind of book. I will definitely be reading more from Micalea!
If you haven’t read it, do it. NOW!
This book was absolutely freaking adorable, theres no better word for it. Breaking the mold of female characters, Lou is so incredibly extraordinary that she will definitely stick with you. I’ve had a rough month, and this was the perfect read to bring me back. I actually laughed out loud, which is no easy accomplishment. Just in time for Summer, Desperately Seeking Roomate is that perfect poolside read!
