It was just supposed to be a fling. It would end and we’d go our separate ways.I should know by now nothing in my life is ever that simple. When Jamie Miller knocks on my door ten months after we ended our … whatever it was, I promptly punch him in his smug face, for no other reason than I feel like it and he deserves it. It’s probably not the best way to handle things, but I’ve never been good at … but I’ve never been good at doing things properly.
When he tells me he’s my new landlord, my whole world is rocked.
But Jamie? He wants to prove to me he’s more than an egotistical jerk and for some reason he’s decided he wants me.
I don’t think love is in the cards for me, and definitely not with Jamie, but he’s determined to prove me wrong.

Miranda is my girlfriend and no one can convince me otheriwse. She is one of the best FMC I’ve ever come across…such a strong confident and funniest character ever. Toby was a sweetheart and Jamie was… Jamie. I sure did hate him in the first book but he was a sweetheart in this.
The epilogues were crazy I remembered an episodes from Friends while reading it
It was such a fun and addicting read. Highly recommend this for a light and fun read.
Ahhhh! I loved this!!! It was a whole new side to Jamie! I loved it. You always thought he was a jerk but in reality he’s not. The epilogues. Yes you read that right! EPILOGUES. Multiple ones cause this author is amazing. Like that made my night cause i wasn’t left wondering at all how the future was. I love Miranda and how she was as well.
We first meet Jamie and Miranda in Desperately Seeking Roomate which is about Miranda’s best friend. This book focuses on her and Jamie’s relationship that ended abruptly eight months ago. Miranda finds out that her new landlord happens to be Jamie and she has to figure out why he wants to start coming around again.
I loved watching these two characters develop, watching how their feelings for each other and them as individuals grow was just so cool! The author really nailed it with these characters and this story line. Definitely recommend if you want a great second chance romance book to read.
A landlord who’s a dick head so that he doesn’t let people in. A sassy art student who happens to know said new landlord. OMG, I’m so glad I read/listened to the first book with Lou and Abel. Both are funny and relatable. I wonder if Tanner will get his happy never ending in the next book? I could only hope. Anyways, I love the friendship of Lou and Miranda and Tanner. I can’t wait to re-read this in a slower pace.
I just adore this book! It’s funny and steamy and sweet all rolled into one gorgeous cover! I was (im)patiently waiting for this book to release after reading Desperately Seeking Roommate, and I’ve gotta tell ya, Desperately Seeking Landlord did NOT disappoint!
Loved the chemistry between between Miranda & Jamie! I’m glad we got to see who Jamie really was, behind his facade. And that epilogue was simply fantastic!!!
I highly recommend this book!!!
Wow. I absolutely loved this book. I always wondered about Miranda and Jamie.
They might of looked like unlikely couple, but they were so perfect for each other. They learnt to open their hearts to each other.
I couldn’t stop laughing at parts.
I highly recommend this book.
I was super excited when I found out Miranda was getting her own book and couldn’t wait till it came out. However, when it was revealed that Jamie would be the hero, I was a little hesitant because I did not like him one bit in Desperately Seeking Roommate and I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy his book at all, but boy am I glad I was wrong about him! There is definitely a lot more to Jamie than meets the eye and that we get to see of him in Lou’s book. Micalea definitely redeemed him with her magical writing skills and I think I just might love him more than Abel. I loved seeing the slow progression of Miranda and Jamie’s relationship and the point where they couldn’t deny their feelings for one another any longer. It was sweet, fun, and loving, and while they are total opposites in every way, they were still perfect for one another. I love how we got to see a different side to Jamie that made me understand him more and why he was the way he was and it made me love him and root for him to get his happy ever after with Miranda. Miranda is a complete spitfire and her attitude and spirit made the book into the amazing and laugh out loud book that it was. I wish I could be a little bit more like Miranda. Overall, this was a lovely story with amazing characters, a great storyline, lots of laughs, and exquisite writing. Thank you Micalea for another fantastic book that I could not put down!
What a fantastically funny story. I absolutely loved this book so much. I found myself laughing out loud at places. I loved the chemistry between the characters and little Toby was the best. I also really loved the little glimpses at the end. A brilliant story.
I absolutely loved Jamie and Miranda. If you read Desperately Seeking Roommate, you know Miranda is Lou’s best friend, and Jamie was their landlord. But to Miranda he was more. This book flowed so well from page to page, and I couldn’t put it down. There’s a lot of laughter and lightheartedness, but there’s also a lot of emotional moments. Single parent is one of my top top favorite tropes to read, so I was definitely excited to read this one.
What a way to turn the villain into the knight! After reading Desperately Seeking Roommate, I absolutely disliked Jamie. And then he walked away from Miranda and I disliked him even more! But Jamie proved me wrong. He is a less scared, warmer version of Christian Grey (minus the red room of pain).
Jamie becomes Miranda’s landlord and cannot stop himself from spending time with her. Consistently putting himself in her path whether it was intentional or not. Miranda unable to resist Jamie and what she sees glimpses of keeps coming back.
I absolutely loved this book and a little curveball thrown in! No spoilers here. Enjoy the chemistry, quirkiness, and hotness that is Jamie and Miranda!
When I say I couldn’t put this one down I truly mean it. After reading Desperately Seeking Roommate I was looking forward to this one. I’m glad to see appearances of characters from the previous book in here. Man did Jamie surprise me in this one. He comes off as a jerk, but hang in there with him because he’s going to rock your world. Miranda and Jamie were so good together. It was fun watching Jamie fight it, but there was no way he was going to win. I loved Toby, he was a very delightful surprise. The Christmas scene, all I can say is be still my heart. That move sealed Jamie’s fate and makes me wish I had a guy like him. The epilogues are the cherry on top for this book. I can’t recommend this book enough. It will have you laughing quite often, but it also had my heart happy sighing. This is definitely a book you don’t want to pass up, trust me!!
I devoured this book in one evening! I might have stayed up till 3 AM to do it, but I couldn’t put it down. After reading ‘Desperately Seeking Roommate’ I hoped we would hear Miranda’s story. I love her personality! How could you not when, “The wand chooses the wizard, after all, so can’t the cat choose the cat lady?”, flys out of her mouth? Miranda is a spunky breath of fresh air as the leading lady.
This story starts off with Miranda learning the biggest-hottest jerk to ever cross her path, Jamie, is now her new landlord. Given that they haven’t seen each other in almost a year, learning the egotistical beefcake is her new landlord was the last thing Miranda wanted to hear.
Jamie is much more than the rude landlord with a wicked tongue, however, he’s perfectly happy keeping that side of him to himself. Actually, he prefers it that way. When the self-appointed cat lady, Miranda, stumbles into his closely guarded personal life Jamie decides to take a chance at letting someone into his inner circle.
Navigating their way to a happy ending is not without its ups, downs, and the occasional punch to the face. (Yeah that happened.)
My only criticism of this book is that I feel it’s beneficial to read ‘Desperately Seeking Roommate’ before so you can fully appreciate how much of a jerk Jamie is. This is still very much a stand-alone story, I just wish we would have seen more of jerk Jamie at the beginning of the story to really appreciate his character growth.
Overall this was a cute read with some great characters that made me laugh out loud resulting in weird looks from my husband.
Yay! Jamie & Miranda’s story had so many laugh outloud moments & a wonderful & sweet twist that you don’t want to miss! I fell in love with Jamie’s brooding personality, there is a reason so read to find out!
Okay wow I devoured this story in one sitting!!!! I didn’t think it was possibly to like Jamie because he was always such a jerk with Lou and in Desperately seeking a roommate but holy heck he might be my favorite character to date! This was such a good book and everyone should read it!!!!! This just goes to show what a great writer Micalea is from taking someone I thought I would never like to making me swoon and melt like wow just wow hats off girl!
Oh…. This should be interesting!!! We get to read Miranda’s story! We get to see what actually transpired between her and Jamie I hope. Holy smokes!!!! I did not expect what I learned about Jamie in this book! MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!!!! Oh, Lord help me!! I kept setting off my asthma from all the laughing with this book! I did not like Shannon. I adored Tobias and Mama Jo. This was a sweet rom-com of a book. Especially the ghost incident!! Jamie is such a pushover!

Desperately Seeking Landlord by Micalea Smeltzer and is Miranda and Jamie’s story.
Miranda is in her last year of college; she is working to move on from a booty call relationship when she finds out that Jamie has bought the building she is residing in. Last time she saw him was over 8 months ago and things didn’t end well. Now he’s back in her life. Miranda is completely confused…. Jaime in book 1 was not the most likeable guy but in book 2, he completely redeems himself because he totally shows who he is underneath that jerky layer. Miranda is this sassy, sweet, beautiful girl who has this innocence about her and Jaime comes across as a sleazy older man who takes advantage but really that’s not him. He is a single father and a good guy….without giving anything away, the chemistry, feels, steam and romance will take your heart away. I also fell for some of the secondary characters in this book. I can’t wait for book 3. Overall fabulous ending and phenomenal read!!!

Jamie Miller started as a creepy jerk in Desperately Seeking Roommate then became someone I whole heartedly rooted for. Jamie keeps everything to his vest, he has been burned so deeply that he doesn’t let anyone in. And his ‘lil fling with Miranda has him craving her and coming back for more.
Miranda knows things with Jamie were just a fling but then she starts to learn more about him and starts to have feelings for him. Starting a relationship backwards might prove more difficult than they anticipated. The physical aspect was never the problem.
I absolutely loved this story. You can’t help but root for these two. Their chemistry is off the charts . Definitely one-click this now.
When Desperately Seeking Landlord started, I loathed Jamie. He was THE worst. A womanizer, a player, a jerk… But, by the end, I loved Jamie so much I hated that the book ended. He ends up totally opposite of how I first saw him in Desperately Seeking Roommate. Now, let’s talk about Miranda. She is amazing. She has her hang ups like we all do. Her wit and humor are unmatched. I love how her character stays true to herself. She doesn’t make any changes to herself to get Jamie. She’s just her. I laughed throughout this book. The back and forth dialog between characters is hilarious. Micalea does a good job keeping the story flowing and the laughs coming. The language isn’t stiff and its relate-able. I may have even cried at the end. It was that good. Great job Micalea!
I’ve been desperately seeking this book since I read Desperately Seeking Roommate and I can say it was 100000000000% worth the wait. I’m pretty sure I’m fully addicted to Micalea Smeltzer’s writing at this point. Desperately Seeking Landlord has the perfect balance of humor and romance creating a romantic comedy that I could not put down for even a second. I’m serious. Un put downable
Miranda and Jamie are the definition of polar opposites and their coming together in the previous book was a hilarious little background, but their story? Holy swoon Batman! Jamie is completely different than I could have ever predicted and surprised me more than once. Brace yourself for him to blow you away. Miranda as always is hilariously sweet. Balancing her sass with her kind heart like the queen she is. Together these opposites end up being the perfect pair and I couldn’t get enough of them.
After reading Desperately Seeking Roommate I knew I had to get my hands on this book. Although Jamie wasn’t my favorite character in the first book he definitely grew on me in this one.
This book was a fun, hilarious read that had me hooked and dying to know how things were going to work out. I really did love these characters and thought that their chemistry was amazing! I love the story line and I love this authors writing!
The laugh out loud banter, the hot steamy moments and the drama that kept me on the edge of my seat made this book a must read for sure! By Alisa
