Deserted is the third book in the Auctioned Series, following book 1, Auctioned, and book 2, Stranded.
Gray Nolan had survived a kidnapping where he was supposed to have been auctioned off to the highest bidder. He had also survived being stranded on an island, under siege from a different set of foes, and throughout the hell they’d all endured, their motto had been “Leave no man behind.”
… motto had been “Leave no man behind.”
Recovery was different. Gray wanted to be left alone to fight his demons—and to get over the attachment he’d formed for the man who’d saved him more than once. But in a time when darkness threatened to consume him, salvation arrived as he set out to uphold the promise he’d made to a friend. Eight-year-old Jayden stormed into his life, fresh off the streets of Philadelphia, and lit up Gray’s bleak existence.
Darius Quinn had known that Gray was going to close himself in and run away after everything they’d been through. But he was determined to follow and watch over the young man who should have been just a paycheck. Something about Gray prevented Darius from staying in his preferred role of passive observer, and he couldn’t let Gray carry out his last commitment alone.
What started out as a cross-country road trip to guide them home to Washington was quickly turning into a journey with a destination that scared the life out of Darius. He’d never wanted that kind of future before, and now he was gearing up to fight for it.

I didn’t think I could fall even more in love with this series and yet Cara Dee created perfection with this book. It had everything I could want in it from heart-pounding wrenching moments to humor to undeniable steaminess.
The cast of characters in this has quickly become my favorites by Cara Dee. It’s impossible not to feel for them. The complexity that the author utilizes is phenomenal. I love how the author doesn’t make everything perfect; instead, she takes the time to give three-dimensional characters. Her world-building skills are unparalleled and this built not only on this series but dropped in some surprises from past series, automatically drawing a smile from me.
Everything about the storyline drew me in. There were multiple layers and it kept me hooked. My heart ached for these characters and cheered for them as well. I couldn’t put it down. I’m looking forward to the next in the series because I can only imagine how explosive it will be.
5 stars for an emotionally charged and flawless read.
I don’t even know where to begin with reviewing this book. It has a bit of everything–adventure, danger, love, sexy times, and more. I don’t reread books, like ever. However, in anticipation of Cara pulling the trigger on each installment of this series, I reread all the previous books so it’s all fresh in my brain again. And let me tell you, I’m not disappointed.
Cara Dee has created yet another 5 star masterpiece with this book. Darius and Gray…swoon.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having read both books that come before this one, I was expecting big things from Deserted. As always with Cara Dee, I was not disappointed. There were so many heart-stopping moments, punches to the gut, and laugh-out-loud lines that I completely lost myself. Gray and Darius really came into their own in this book. They became real to me and I found myself rooting for them. Crying when they cried, laughing when they laughed, and loving…well, always, actually. I adore these two and their entire supporting cast of characters. Cara’s fleshed out back stories and brilliant supporting characters are among my very favourite things about reading her books. They’re always so well done.
I’ll leave this long and rambling post with one of the many lines that got me right in the dang heart, but the entire book was just…incredible. I’m already jealous of all the people who haven’t read it yet and will get to read it for the first time.
