Book three in the Devereux Series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Lady Heather Devereux gets abducted by pirates then given to the Ottoman prince, Khalid. This story has a very evil man, villains, abduction, twists, turns, drama, danger, suspense, and romance. I want to read more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Clash of Cultures and Pride
This book is completely different from most medieval historical romances that I have read. I don’t think I have ever read a book where the heroine was captured by pirates and then taken to an Ottoman prince as a gift. The lady in question is a cousin to Queen Elizabeth I and was on her way to her betrothed in France when the ship was attacked. When the pirate finds out who she is, he decides to give her to his prince. In the first scene between the prince and the lady, it pulls you in right away with the inherent conflict between them. It so happens that her betrothed is a sworn enemy of the prince. So their relationship is rocky from the start, to put it mildly. But this made for a quite fascinating relationship arc. It actually turns out they are quite well suited, even if they both fight it for a while. I like that he ends up having more respect for and treating her better than she probably would have been treated in England or with her French betrothed. I found this to be a very different but compelling read.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
The Moslem prince and his Christian princess.
I was greedy I got the chance to pick up not one but three books by Patricia Grasso on Booksprout. What I like about her books is that they are a bit twisted and that makes them fun reading. They are also written in a style I enjoy a bit different from modern pieces. I found this story interesting Heather the brat meets Khalid the savage and the sparks do fly. I do understand the other reviewers pov it is a bit wordy but I would read bags of these types of books way back in the ’70s. This book and the other two are just blasts from the past for me. There are good stories and I hope you give them a try. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Reading series backwards but loving every minute! Characters are wonderful! Grabs you from the very beginning! Sexy, sexy!
Ms. Grasso’s writing style is a bit different from most historical authors I have read, but I think that is what makes her books so appealing. This one was no different. The content is a controversial for this day and age and I admit, it was a little difficult to get through, but that aside, it’s a very well written book. Ms. Grasso is truly a very talented author and she really knows how to weave a tale that you really become invested in. The plot and storyline really pull you in from the beginning and you are captivated by Heather and Khalid. Both characters were well developed for their roles and there was definitely strong chemistry between them. It’s a very different kind of love story, but a very fascinating and compelling read. I hope you give it a try!

Desert Eden is the third book in the Devereux Series and is a good historical romance.
Kidnapping, danger, drama, suspense, humour, and romance combine to make an enjoyable read. The characters are well developed and suit the time period.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

The feisty English beauty and the beastly prince. On her way to meet her future husband, the ship Heather and her cousin Alice are on is overtaken by a muslim prince’s men. When they find out she is the intended of Khalid’s bitter enemy they give her to Khalid to use as bait. But As Khalid keeps her and trains her in the ways of a slave and the ways of an Eastern woman, he falls in love. Now how can he auction her off as a way of bringing his enemy to him so he can get revenge for his brother and sister? I absolutely adored Heather. She was smart, funny, strong, and brave. And Khalid never did anything to hurt her, and was so gentle with her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
