Persephone Abbot is in my debt. Exactly the way I want it. The sins of the father should not be inherited by the daughter. It’s unfair, I know, but since when has life been fair? The events that brought us here began on Halloween night more than five years ago in that chapel ruin. I saved her that night. Carried her home through the storm that was the omen warning of what would come.I didn’t know … what would come.
I didn’t know it then, but I do now.
Her father destroyed something precious. Someone innocent.
I don’t believe in an eye for an eye. I won’t just balance the scales of justice, I’ll tip them so far in my favor his legacy will topple.
I’ll take that which is most precious. His daughter.
But I’m not the only monster lurking in the dark corners of her world. She’ll sleep in the bed of the beast, but I’ll keep her safe. Protect her fiercely.
And maybe I’ll keep her.
Set in the Benedetti Mafia World, Descent is a brand new Standalone Enemies-to-Lovers Romance.

This was not what i expected to be honest.
I love Natasha Knight, i’m a big fan of her’s so reading her books is always an amazing experience. However, Descent was not it for me. I don’t know what it was but it felt lacking. it didn’t make me breathless like her books usually do. i don’t know what to expect with her so its always a surprise. Whenever i read her books i’m always at the edge of my seat, but this one did not have that effect on me.
Nevertheless, it was nice and i kinda enjoyed it.

“Hades. He was my savior once. Twice. Now he’s become my tormentor. And I don’t ever want him to let me go.”
Twined with the greek mythology of Hades and Persephone comes the story of revenge and payback. A beautiful love story filled with dark secrets, mystery and intrigue.
“Persephone will be sacrificed, but that can’t be helped. It’s fitting, actually. Almost poetic. An eye for an eye. A girl for a girl.”
I love a romance where two characters are drawn to one another, not just by chemistry or attraction but a higher power; destiny. The romance in the book was everything. Their attraction, past history and this deep, underlying bond that draws them together.
“Hades and I, there’s something that binds us. It’s always been like this with us. Like a moth to the flame. Except that I don’t know which of us is the moth and which the flame that will burn the other.”
Dominic and Gia are in this book, and a little of Salvatore. I really enjoyed reading about the Benedetti brothers out of their own books and to see what they’re up to now. Made me miss Sergio even more.
“Hades loved Persephone. And he’s right. She loved him, too. But his love, it condemned her. It could only take. She wasn’t the same even in the time she spent in the light. Because once you let darkness love you, it won’t ever let you go. And you won’t want it to.”
Descent is a standalone, and is set in the Benedetti Mafia World. If you haven’t read the Benedetti Brothers series, I’d advice you do so now, however it is not needed in order to read this book.
Warning: dark subjects discussed. sensitive issues mentioned such as suicide, child pornography and statutory rape.
“She owns a part of me. She always has. No. That’s not it. Persephone owns my f****** soul.”
I enjoyed this read oh so much! Mafia, angst, secrets, age gap, do I need to say more? Hades and Persephone are deliciously hot. I couldn’t get enough of them. Loved it!
OMG „Decent” by Natasha Knight is that kind of book you won’t be able to put down. I am seriously addicted of her writing. She can perfectly write stories that are equally sexy and addictive and yes “Descent” is just another proof of this opinion.
The main characters are Persephone and Hades. She is trying to tie everything in life after her father’s tragic accident while trying to fight for crumbling family empire. She knew Hayden “Hades” when they were younger but after few years same, now man is a threat to everything she now and everything she was fighting for. He basically owns everything and if she wants to have anything he won’t say no to some begging from Persephone. So they made a deal in which Persephone is owned by Hades if she wants to live in her family’s house and work at her family’s company. How this story will go? If you want to find out you need to read this addicting book.
“Descent” is a devilish mix of everything I like. There are secrets, unexpected plot twists and seriously hot romance with a hint of sinfully sexy moments. Add to this mix a little bit of dark and you have this amazing story. I bet you will love this story as much as me because if you want your books to be sinful with a hint of dark don’t think another minute and read this dark jewel.
I really enjoyed this book. Natasha Knight usually throws me with a curve ball with her reads. They are a little darker and twisted then this one was. Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining at all. I think this is one was one of my favorites. for me this one flowed so much better and the characters chemistry just clicked for me. Once I started I did not want to put it to end. I’m pretty excited I picked this author up as a new author last year. I am looking forward to 2020.
Wow! Another amazing dark romance by Natasha Knight! This is a full length novel, so no cliffhanger, which I really appreciate it. I loved this retelling of the Hades and Persephone myth set in modern times. Hayden (Hades) and Persephone’s story is amazingly dark second chance to love, complex, captivating, heartbreaking and heartwarming afterward, filled with drama, danger, secrets, and unpredictable twists and turns. Hayden is an amazing dark character, ruthless, powerful, alpha, and dominant. He is seeking for vengeance. Persephone is a beautiful woman, young, innocent, naive, and strong. While seeking for the truth, she gets caught in the middle of a war. They share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is intense, and suspenseful. The secondary characters are intriguing, and they have an important part in this story. The ending is fast-paced, action packed and completely unpredictable. The Epilogues are heartwarming. I enjoyed it! I would love to have Ares’s story. Author Natasha Knight, I love your words, very much.
Descent is a standalone dark romance. This is Hayden (Hades) Montgomery and Persephone Abbot’s story.
Hades is consumed with revenge and is going to make Persephone pay for her father’s sin. Persephone is HIS!
Descent’s story is good combination of dark, sexy and angsty.
I enjoyed the telling of this take of modern mythology. 4 stars
ith every book I read by Natasha, I love her words more and more. This story hit home in a way I was not expecting and I loved every minute of it. Persephone and Hayden are perfect and real. Natasha has a way of bringing her characters to life with their well written personalities and thought out storylines.
Talk about book hangover, this is the book!! This story kept me glued to my Kindle almost from the first page. A lot is fabulous characters with so much suspense and drama I couldn’t get enough. Hayden and Persephone’s story is dark and riveting. There are secrets, drama and oh so very sexy scenes. I couldn’t get enough of this book and I highly recommend it!! I can’t wait for this evil genius of an author to put out her next book!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Descent is a new standalone book set in the Benedetti Mafia World. If you have not read those books though that is fine You will not be lost or anything. However I will tell you those books are so good, you will want to run out and get them and read those too. This is also a enemies to lovers romance and man am I a sucker for them. However this is not a light and fluffy one. If you have read Natasha Knight before then you know the goodness you have in store for you. Descent does not disappoint. This is the story of Persephone Abbot and her one time friend Hades. Now a tragic accident has left Persephone broke and selling nearly everything her family ever had to handle the care and medical bills of her dad. Hades who was her friend and neighbor comes from his own powerful family is not the boy that he once was and for reasons that Persephone has not clue about he seems to hate her and her family. You get to uncover this mystery at the same time Persephone is being clued in. Hades is determined to take everything and he might just keep her. But can she sell herself to him to stay afloat and provide the things necessary that one of her family member need to be on this earth? You have to read to find out but you are going to love this book. I know that I did and I devoured it. If you like your stories on the dark side, with a ton of twists and turns that will keep you guessing and one the edge of your seat then you do not want to miss this one.
This book wasn’t just one thing. It wasn’t just slightly dark. It had the mafia aspect. The book was suspenseful and overall pretty romantic. Oh and the book was able to bring on the right amount of heat. Hayden and Persephone were an amazing couple. They were able to compliment one another easily.
Descent is dark and twisty and oh so delicious! I loved the complex characters and the storyline that keeps you guessing up until the end. Hayden/Hades and Persephone have been connected since childhood but revenge brings them back together. They go from enemies to lovers with a chemistry that sizzles. I have not read any of the Benedetti Crime Family books that this is set in but am remedying that stat!
This one is a mash up of second chance, mafia, and arrangement for sex. Throw in a little mythology and some flawed characters and readers are sure to find something to draw them in.
As always, Natasha has delivered a well written, nicely paced and interesting book. The woman has talent in spades. Anytime I pick up one of her books, I know I’m in for a ride. And while I really enjoyed Descent, this time, the ride seemed a bit smooth and lacking some of the more exciting twists and turns I’ve come to expect. It was still well worth the read and I look forward to whatever comes next.
I love reading a Natasha Knight book. I know I will get a suspenseful, page-turning and somewhat dark read. This is no different and I was pulled in by the mystery and by the darkness and secrets that veiled all of the characters.
There are secrets, lies and cover ups that surround one tragic incident from everyone’s past.
This was a fast read that I eagerly read in one sitting.
I wanted more from this story though. I wanted to know more about Haden’s sister. What were her motives? Why did she do what she did? What were Persephone’s dad’s motives? That, for me, is a big part and left major questions making this story feel a little unfinished.
Haden is broody, dark and full of anger. He has come back to take vengeance on Persephone’s dad. But, since her father is incapacitated, Haden will take everything her father owns, including Persephone.
The whole story is cloaked in a dark and somber tone. It definetly sets the proper setting and feel for the story unfolding.
Haden has a powerful, demanding and commanding presence. It follows him throughout the book and his interludes with Persephone.
Another thing I noticed is that we didn’t dig much into the characters and who they were.
Regardless, this was one entertaining, page-turning read.
Oh my gosh you guys, what an emotional ride Natasha Knight gave me with this story that I don’t even know where to begin with.
Descent is a new standalone enemies to lovers dark romance with many twisted and turns, secrets, families tragedy, mafia business involved and scorching romance between main characters.
Yep, this book has it all and it was one helluva great read.
Natasha Knight starter this story with very promising plot and as I go further I need to admit that as always she DIDN’T disappoint with this one. Author gave me all the feels, and chills and whole range of emotions with this awesome book.
Hayden and Persephone complicated relationship grab my attention from the beginning. Love and hate mixed together with lust and desire. Yes, I love stories where heroes bantering with each other, when they push and pull back and neither of them give up. They’ve pump adrenaline into my veins through their love war and I was eagerly absorbing every written word.
Both of them are strong heroes. Percy was young but she was a fighter, with strength and sassy mouth she didn’t allow anyone to break her.
Hayden was dark and dangerous alfa man and one cocky bastard but also protective, carrying and tender on his own way.
Their chemistry was raw, primal and out of the charts, but their were lost in the maze of hatred. They’ve shared common past, and they’ve had their own reasons to act like archenemies because they were standing in the middle of their families tragedy and everything break them apart. This story was a page turner and it’s must read for every dark book lovers.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review
This book is set in the Benedetti Mafia World.
This is the story of Hayden (Hades & Persephone (Percy). Hades takes over Persephone’s world, literally, everything, including her. I have three words for this story. Wow, just wow. This is a very tense and complicated story. There is a mystery in it. There is action in it. The story will hold you to it from the minute you start to read it until the end. These are great characters. It is excellently written. Characters from the Benedetti Series are in it. I love them, too. I just loved everything about this story, and I’m sure you will, too. Looking forward to another of Natasha Knights books.
I feel like I need a stiff drink after this one I literally read it in one day I couldn’t put it down more than a couple minutes before giving in and picking it back up again Hades is a force to be reckoned with and I love how the author used mythology to not only tie Persephone and Hades together but too kind of Escape some of the other characters as well like Aries and his mischevious ways that still don’t quite makes sense but I’m assuming or at least hoping he has his own book that will clear up things in the end on a side note I am actually really disappointed in Dominic’s behavior in this book but I’m also glad we got to see a little bit of him in it as well a cute little Falco if only for a tiny bit I give this book 4.5 stars I would give it 5 but I still feel a little jilted on the emotional connection between Hades and Persephone when they finally admit how much they mean to each other I just wanted to feel it more at the end
Descent was simply riveting! Persephone and Hayden had some amazing chemistry together, and the angsty push and pull between them lit up the pages! I wanted to know more about Hayden’s past, but I loved him for Persephone. Trouble is never too far away though, and the twists and turns kept me so on edge! The dual POV told the story well, and I loved the way each revelation made my nerves tingle! A fantastic book!
Descent by Natasha Knight
5 STARS
Natasha Knight is a new to me author and I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved DESCENT, most definitely won’t be my last read from her.
DESCENT is a standalone dark romance written in dual POV and tells the story of Persephone & Hayden aka Hades.
Persephone and Hades had known each other since they were kids. He is 7 years older than her. He saved her once when she was bearly a teenager at thirteen years old, and now she thinks he came again only to ruin her for good. That’s what Persephone thinks.
“Hades. He was my savior once. Twice. Now he’s become, my tormentor. And I don’t ever want him to let me go.”
Persephone’s family was one of the richest and important families, but somehow, her father succeeded to lose power, and now, after the hit and run accident that happened to him, he lost everything. Hayden steps up, and takes over, or should I say, forces and blackmails Persephone to accept his offer. Having no choice, Persephone must bind her body, soul and especially her heart to Hades. Because Hades wants to ruin her father.
“Persephone Abbot belongs to me. She always has. And now, she belongs in my bed, too. And I’ll make sure she stays there no matter what I have to do.”
He was so controlling, demanding, possessive and obsessed with her.
Persephone is just collateral damage in Hayden’s plan for revenge. He hates her father but doesn’t hate her, she is innocent. She was strong, smart, stubborn, but she was a feather in Hayden’s arms.
This book was so good, I couldn’t put it down. So full of twists and turns, betrail, secrets, danger, darkness and steam. This book is definitely one of the hottest books. The story was very good and very well written, I loved the secondary characters, and I am very curious if Ares and Lizzy will have their own story. Together or separately, doesn’t matter. I just want to read their story.
DESCENT made me very curious and intrigued by the Benedetti family, and I will definitely read their books.
She’s done it again!!
Natasha Knight has written a dark and addictive new addition to her Benedetti Mafia world. While set in her oh so sexy Benedetti world, you won’t need to read any other book. Descent is a complete stand alone, one that will leave you wanting more from this fantastic series.
Whenever there is a new release from Natasha, I know I need to clear my calendar and lock myself away from any distraction. Her ability to suck me into her delicious world calls to my dark side. Her words are addictive and I am continuously hooked.
Descent has so many twists and turns that I was never sure what to except. It was sinful, sexy and down right delicious!
Hayden aka Hades was a ruthless man, but he was so hot! He certainly made my brain turn to mush on a few occasions. While he was powerful and dangerous man, he had a soft side that only our heroine saw on rare occasions. He had that confidence that oozed from him and the swagger to match. He stole my black heart and I loved every minute!!
Persephone was a woman on the brink, her life is falling apart! With no one to turn to she gives herself to the devil. Even with her world falling apart she never backed down from Hades, she stood her ground and fought him every step of the way. I loved this strength in her character, it shone through the darkness and the sacrifices she was willing to make to ensure her family was protected spoke volumes.
Together, their chemistry was undeniable. It was addictive, sexy and electrifying. I just wished there was more of their story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am so glad we are back in the Benedetti world. If you’re looking for your next mafia, enemies to lover romance, then be sure to check out Descent by Natasha Knight.
