Don’t fall in love with your bandmate’s girl. It’s an unspoken rule, and one I’m determined to follow. I’ve always been the guy to take the high road, to be the voice of reason, but when it comes to Jess I’m tired of fighting this overwhelming attraction. The more time we spend together, the more compelled I am to show her she’s worthy of love and dreams of her own. The lines of my moral compass … lines of my moral compass begin to blur. I should leave her alone, but I can’t. I know it’s wrong, but everything about us feels so right.
Despite everything I try, it doesn’t change the truth. She’s not mine.
I can’t sit back and watch her love someone else. But if given the choice, will she even want me?
DERAIL can be read as a standalone, or start with Trent’s story in DETOUR.

From the first strum of his guitar Sean had my heart. Derailed is the second book in the series and this book deals with a few serious issues that will cause your heart to ache. Sean and Jess’s story is one that will have you anxious, angry and at times frustrated. However do not let any of this deter you as this book is worth every anxious moment and tear you might shed. This story is so much more than a rocker romance it is about not turning a blind eye when people around you need your help. It is also a book that teaches us that when you find love it is about giving not taking, that love should build you up not knock you down, love should be selfless not selfish and real love should make you shine and not hide in the dark. Their story will hold you captive to the end and these two will grab hold of your heart. Derailed is a story that will connect with your soul and have you falling madly in love with these two. Kacey Shea has totally outdone herself with this book and Derailed certainly deserves a Grammy award as the words of this story will be the beat to your heart.
Derailed captured my heart. I read this book in one sitting and was so sad it had to end. Sean and Jess’s story is nothing like the cliché storyline I’m used to with rockstar romance novels. They had depth and real emotion. You laughed, cried, and fell in love right along with them. Kacey Shea does an incredible job of bringing real problems to life in a relatable way.
Derailed is a romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat and stay with you long after it’s finished. It was an exceptional novel by Kacey Shea. This will not be the last book I read by her.
Kacey Shea pens another masterpiece brought to life with outstanding narration. I will admit. After Detour I knew Derail would be one a top favorite of the series. I am a sucker for forbidden love, white knights, and a girl that needs to be rescued, but finds a backbone along the way. This book checks all of the boxes. I have no words for the narration, Speechless. If I didn’t think this book could get any better, just bring in two of my favorites to bring it to life. I was obsessed with this series when I read it, but listening to it brings on a whole new stalkerish level of obsessed. 10 hours and 40 mins of pure bliss.
I have never read anything by Ms. Shea and I can’t believe I haven’t! Because omg!!! Sean and Jess and omg my freaking heart!!! I couldn’t put this book down! And I’ll tell you too, I’m not necessarily a fan of the rockstar genre. I have to find something I really like. Did I like Derailed? Nope! I LOVED it!!! And Austin and Trent and Lexi and Deb. They’re one of those amazing families created by love and friendship and just my heart! And most of all, Sean and Jess. They’re story wasn’t easy and neither was their journey but true love prevails no matter what!!
I fell in love with 3UG in Detour which was Trent and Lexi’s book. Getting deeper into the group and their crush of keeping a good drummer may be at the end with Coy. Sean has always been the calm one of the group but when he sees Coy Wright’s girlfriend Jessica “Jess” Moore, he is anything but calm. Jess has a past that makes her feel unworthy and Coy has been the one to be there for her, so she puts up with his heavy hand and anger as she feels that is all she deserves. When she becomes friends with Sean she realizes she may deserve more, but is she brave enough to reach for it? I really loved the development of characters throughout this story. The way Jess found out more about herself through the eyes of Deb and Sean was emotional. This is a great book and definitely a must read series.
Oh my goodness after devouring Detour back in May I just knew that I needed to get my hands on Sean’s story right away because I absolutely loved his character in the first book in the Off Track Records series! Of course the wait was certainly well worth it and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it because I found myself falling more and more in love with these characters.
Derailed by Kacey Shea will take readers on an emotional journey and will leave them on the edge of their seats in anticipation from start to finish. This story gives readers all the feels with that heart wrenching feeling in the pit of your stomach until the very end! My head is still reeling hours after devouring this beautifully captivating read and there are so many deep layers to this story that will warm a readers heart inside and out.
While I have so many thoughts and emotions running through my head about this book, I just don’t feel that I fully express them without giving away some essential aspects of the storyline. That is something I definitely wouldn’t want to do because this book needs to be experienced firsthand!
Seriously I am so honored to have been given the chance to read this story and I cannot help but recommend this 5+ star read! Kacey Shea you have outdone yourself this time and I am so excited to see what the next in the series has to hold!
LOVE! Could not put this book down. Couldn’t get enough of Sean and Jess and was so disappointed it ended. I felt there was so much more left of their story. I can’t wait to read more of Kacey Shea books. They are just what I need.
While I liked Trent and Lexi’s story, I loved Sean and Jess’ story. I have so many things I want to say, but I don’t want to give anything away. Derailed was heartbreaking at times and definitely emotion packed. Can’t wait to read the next book!

Not another boy band….
*3.5 stars*
Three Ugly Guys is a group of musicians with heart, soul and serious problems. Sean is in the thick of it but even the issues he has to work through and deal with can’t deny his compassionate heart and empathy for friends in need. When Jess is thrown into the mix, bringing her own secrets and challenges, the heat is going to rise and the drama will amp, amp up….
I’ve loved the 3UG books and couldn’t wait for Sean’s story! All the characters are unique and bring something distinctly their own to the series. To me, Sean seemed the most vulnerable. He’s a strong guy, don’t get me wrong, but his heart always seemed to the most fragile – hidden away in a man-whorish rock start body, of course. When Jess enters their circle he immediately notices things not quite right, even as his bandmates are totally oblivious.
“Good luck with world domination.”
“It’s my first time.”
Did I mention drama? Oh yes, there is a lot of it! Some of it made me pause when decisions and actions whiplashed from moment to moment at times but through it all there was sweetness and compassion, tenderness and real life struggles. When love happens, the only predictable thing is unpredictability and Jess and Sean had seconds!
It was a powder keg of emotions between all the characters, keeping me happily embroiled in it right to the end…

Derailed is a wonderful read. A well written book that has a beautiful, emotionally moving storyline. The characters are complex and engaging. Jess is such an amazing character and her story is sure to break your heart. Sean is just a genuine great guy. Together these two create a couple that is perfect for each other, impossible not to fall in love with and make you wish with your whole heart for a HEA for them. This is a book that deals with hard issues and as in life things are very rarely just black or white, but many shades of gray.
