One tall, dark, and broody professor + One overachieving college student = Chemistry they can’t erase.When I was asked to babysit for a single father, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Two months with Mr. tall, dark, and broody didn’t seem like a bad trade-off for the money he would pay me.As the weeks go by, our attraction grows and I realize what a concerned and caring father he is. … concerned and caring father he is. And he learns that not every woman is untrustworthy like his ex-wife.
We both agree to walk away from our fling when I leave for college at the end of summer.
And reluctantly, we do.
Until my first day of classes when he crashes back into my world.
“I’m Professor Decker. Welcome to King University.”

What a story! Miles, Sophie and Joey are characters that instantly come to life within the first few chapters. We’re witness to the building romance of age gap and a single father romance that is a non stop page turner. Sophie knows what she wants and has her goals in view, Miles has his focus on one particular person only, Joey. Seeing the kind of father this man is will have you falling for him instantly. Events that take place have you gasping and have you nipping at the bit to see what happens next. I throughly enjoyed reading this story and highly recommend you one click.
First book in the King University Series and although I enjoyed it, I found it to be a bit slow. Many endearing characters, connections to other series and introductions to future books in the series. Some moments were truly worth treasuring in the book…I swooned through the romantic gestures. Joey is so adorable and has so much personality. The actual storyline was very good and it kept you guess as to whether the professor and his student would get a happy ending.
Depravity is book one in the King University trilogy. It ticks so many of my fave trope boxes
* Forbidden – check
* Age gap – check
* Slow burn – check
* Single dad – check
* Hot college professor – check, check, check
Grab this one, head down to the beach and get lost for a bit. Can’t wait for the next in this new, sexy series.
WOW. AMAZING. FANTASTIC. EMOTIONALLY PERFECT.
Jacob Chance’s stories always wow me, always amaze me, always put a smile on my face at the end but in Depravity… he took all those thing to a whole new level and it was writing perfection. As soon as I started reading I was captivated and needed more. It’s pure sexual tension and taboo at its finest.
You meet Sophie and Miles. Miles is a single dad raising his nearly three yr old son, Joey.
Sophie works for Miles’s sister and was recommended for babysitting. Now Miles is very guarded, set in his ways, kind of gives the jerk vibe but he has his reasons. The one main concern in his life is his son.
Sophie, I love Sophie, she is full of life, excited about the next chapter of her life and best of all has a sassy spirit.
They both feel it but they both fight it. Yes, I’m talking about the mega attraction you feel as your reading. Jacob writes these characters so well you can feel their emotions off the pages with them. What happens when you can’t fight the inevitable? It’s a classic the heart wants what the heart wants no matter how much you fight it.
This story brings all the emotion and it was so perfect for the start of The King University series. It just makes me that much more excited for the next two. I wish I could give more then 5 stars because it was 10 to me. I definitely recommend this book, It was amazing!
Age is not just a number but to sexy college professor divorced father Miles Decker his smoking hot nineteen year old babysitter the age difference is a definite impossible possibility or is it. Sophie is a college freshman who works for Miranda, Miles older sister. Miranda suggest that Sophie go to work for her brother as a babysitter three nights a week while he teaches a night course at a nearby college. Miles can be quite the handsome asshole when he wants and that is the way he behaves when he comes home from the university on the first evening Sophie babysits. This is the story how two imperfect people fined each other and hold on. It’s a funny, romantic story of second chances and true love. A five star read. Once again author Jacob Chance nails a perfect story with beautifully written well developed characters who could be your next door neighbors: characters that melt your heart…which leaves you wanting more….great summer read.
I enjoyed reading about Miles and Sophie. And Joey is so cute!
It was interesting getting a male perspective regarding his wife leaving him. It did leave Miles a little broken and jaded. And Sophie is so young, she hasn’t really had very many relationships.
If you enjoy age-gap romances, check this one out!
5 FORBIDDEN ROMANCE STARS!!!
Forbidden romance GOLD! It was the trifecta of taboo! A must read for all forbidden romance lovers! But also for anyone who just loves a great romance. I LOVED IT!!! My absolute favorite book by this author. It was EVERYTHING you want from a taboo romance and more. He created characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and wish for their HEA!
Miles was a single dad to his adorable son Joey, left bitter by an ugly split from his ex. He’s a wonderful father to his son which makes him endearing enough to overlook his propensity for acting like a jerk when he’s pissed. And he’s a sexy professor.
Sophie is a total rule follower and a hard worker. She spends her time running from one job to another to save up for college, that starts in a couple of months. She’s also sassy and has a backbone, so don’t try and push her around.
Miles needed a babysitter to care for his son and Sophie needed another job, so as luck would have it, these two came into eachother’s lives. Employee/employer, he was quite a bit older and it was about to get a whole lot more complicated. Can you say taboo?
The banter is awesome. The attraction is irresistible. And when they finally stop resisting one another, it’s the stuff of dirty, sexy fairytales!!! And how could you not fall in love with Joey too! Miles was lonely and didn’t even know it. Sophie wanted him even though she shouldn’t. You can’t decide who you fall in love with. Maybe it was just meant to be.
Depravity by Jacob Chance is a slow burn romance that had my heart swooning every step of the way! I wholeheartedly adored the back and forth banter between Miles, a single dad and college professor, and Sophie, a part-time babysitter and soon-to-be college freshmen. What starts off as a hot summer fling soon blossoms into so much more. There is just one little problem…neither one of them expected him to be her professor.
Their story gave me all the feels and I never wanted it to end because I was head over heels in love with them! Although this story could be considered a forbidden romance because of their age gap and the fact that he did happen to be one of her college professor. However, do be apprehensive about reading this story if you are usually against forbidden romances because trust me you are going to love ever second of Miles and Sophie…oh and let’s not forget the sweet and adorable Joey. That little man completely stole my heart!
Now that I have devoured this story, I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the standalone books in the King University series!
Before we start, let’s talk about the cover. A suited guy is always appreciated especially when the shirt is open. I confess it was hard not to stare. But I digress. Let’s get onto the story. The reader is thrown into the fray and dropped into Miles’ life. And it’s not the most pleasant of moments. It does however explain how he can be a bit of a jerk when we see him interact with Sophie later on. You can’t blame him for his guarded attitude. He is slightly jaded after being wronged by a woman and his defensive nature can be excused. Besides, he is an adorable DILF especially when you see him with his son. #ovariesexploding.
Sophie is not only a sweet young woman but she is strong and resilient not to mention her carpe diem attitude. For myself, I could relate to her. Being a bookworm and appearing younger than your years, I can understand why Sophie would hate being called cute. That’s not what a young woman wants to hear.
What starts as an uneasy friendship turns into something much more between Miles and Sophie. The intense attraction peaks to a point where it cannot be ignored any longer. It’s passionate and hot but it’s not just about the physical attraction. Feelings are developing and while Sophie maintains she can keep it casual, I feel like a red flag should be waving around madly. You know that never works out and you begin to bite your nails wondering when it is going to blow up.
There are expected barriers to the relationship and a few unexpected ones. Some snide and selfish people or more accurately one person is trying to get in the way and I honestly wanted to slap them. This story is about opening yourself up to someone and letting them into your life after being hurt. Trusting and forgiving the one you love when they make mistakes and often you find what you always needed when you weren’t looking. Jacob Chance has written a great story with well-developed characters, an interesting plot and fantastic moments that make you laugh, smile and swoon.
Upon the recommendation of a fellow reader, I jumped into this novel by Jacob Chance. His depth and warmth in this book was truly unbelievable. He even made me cry at one point! Miles Becker, single dad, Professor, and nursing a broken heart is newly divorced and coping with the struggle of juggling work and his soon to be three year old son. Sophie Gardner is an over achiever and soon to be a freshman at King University in the fall. She works for Miles’ sister Miranda at her bookstore and was asked to watch Miles son Joey when he had to attend a mixer at work to get to know the staff before classes began in the fall. From their first meeting you could feel something, a pull to each other but they dare not cross that line. What an amazing story unfolds and it will keep you guessing until the very end. I will now be grabbing the rest of the series as each characters’ story unfolds, what a ride this will be

Bravo Jacob, Your versatility as an all round Author is one of the reasons you are an Auto one Click Author to me.
Depravity was a hotly anticipated read for me and and was the perfect first instalment in the King University Series. I loved all of it, from the very first page to the last, in fact I couldn’t get enough of Miles & Sophie. Single Dad reads are one of my favourite genres to read and you nailed this storyline to perfection. I love that It’s slightly different to the traditional professor storyline, it made this a thoroughly enjoyable read I can’t wait to give it a reread. (I am always blown away at the level of small details you execute in each of your books)
Miles is one hot delicious Dad, his love and adoration he has for his son Joey is perfectly written and endearing, it’s also what Joey’s babysitter Sophie finds attractive in Miles initially, well until he shows his intense side. Sophie handles him perfectly when he’s intense though. I’m not going to lie I did want to punch him in the face but he redeemed himself. These two leads have an intense sexual
chemistry that is palpable while your reading it. This is one delicious read I whole heartedly cannot recommend enough.
WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!
That single, and not at all sufficient, word was on repeat in my mind as I read this book. Truthfully, forbidden romance isn’t typically my thing. But this book is most definitely MY THING!! I LOVED it!! It’s impossible for Jacob Chance not to give his all while writing a book. Jacob’s writing just keeps getting better with each book he puts out and Depravity takes the cake. So much different and unique to what we have come to expect from him but in the best possible way. It blew all my expectations out of the water and swear I felt EVERY emotion these characters felt while reading it.
Miles and Sophie were amazing! I loved their individual characters and I loved them together. I swooned pretty hard over the pair of them. The story, the chemistry and the cover all had me completely engaged. Both characters were lovable, and there were some great moments that tugged at the heartstrings. I know I’m being vague but honestly, this story gave me all the feels and then some. Every touch between Miles and Sophie was forbidden in one form or fashion. But that makes every moment they share together more thrilling and sexy, and even more intense. That intensity comes with a reality that neither was prepared for and sets off a domino effect in their lives.
This isn’t your regular student/teacher romance. At least to me it wasn’t. The deep connection these two characters possessed was just mind blowingly potent. I couldn’t put it down. Then add in the single father dynamic and you’ve got a winner all around. In fact, one of the high points of this story for me was seeing the special moments and interactions between father and son and with Sophie too. It was these moments that gave this book that much more and feeling. Everything from the cover to the story within the pages, this book defines captivating!
Depravity is your next book hangover. It really is something else. The sexual tension in this book is INSANE. Jacob masterfully interweaves innocent butterflies with searing white-hot sensual heat.
I loved these characters, I loved their story and I loved that Jacob Chance wrote it. With the perfect balance of character development, story development and hot but classy scenes it fulfills every romance readers dreams. I can only highly recommend reading this book. FIVE PAGE MELTING STARS
