Duty meets desire . . . Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. How can she cold-bloodedly end all that heat, those green eyes, that ripped body? Unfortunately for Mercy, attempted murder and kidnapping are just foreplay for the Kyllwood brothers. Logan … Kyllwood brothers. Logan may be the youngest of the bunch, but death and violence are already a way of life. Now he’s ready to complete a painful, terrifying ritual to become one of the Seven, dedicated to protecting this world from the most dangerous evil it’s ever known. But first he has to deal with a blackmailing Fey, a ransom demand and his own pounding need for the last female he ever should have fallen for . . .

We’ve been waiting and now it’s here. Demon’s Mercy is the latest book from Rebecca Zanetti in her Dark Protectors series. Rebecca Zanetti brings to life not only the wonderful characters in this book but allows the reader to fall into this magical world and all it holds. With the engaging storyline, edge of your seat action and suspense I found myself quickly devouring this book. Ms. Zanetti has a unique view on the paranormal world and took me on a roller coaster ride with this book. Mercy and Kyle had off the charts chemistry and I enjoyed the back and forth between the two characters. I loved how the romance part of the story was there but not at the forefront of the entire book. This book had it all and I look forward to more books by Rebecca Zanetti.
I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
First let me say that I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my feedback. I always leave an honest review.
Holy shiznet!!! I love Mercy. She’s so sassy and fiesty. She gives Logan a run for his money let me tell you. She doesn’t give an inch. Poor Logan is discombobulated when he’s around her. I laughed so hard during this story. I think my favorite part was when Mercy added “you Tarzan, me Jane” cause Logan was being all macho with her. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
Yes!! It’s finally time for Logan’s HEA. Or is it? He’s about to join the Seven by becoming a shield so finding a mate is not on his radar. Fate, however, has a different plan in mind for him.
Mercy is a fairy, or Fae, as they prefer to be called. She, and her people, are in town to stop Logan and the Seven from fully forming. The Fae have determined that the Seven’s rituals Ares causing dimensional disruptions…and could result in world destruction. Mercy is attracted to Logan but she is fully committed to her cause, plus she’s already promised to another.
But as me know, that pesky Fate is at work and nothing is gonna stand in her way.
I loved this book. Logan and Mercy and so great together. They are both dedicated to their own cause and families…..which makes them constantly butt heads…..while also fighting their desire for each other. And the secondary characters really added to the story.
Now I’m ready for Garret’s book.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, St. Martin’s Press/Lyrical Press, via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.

Just reading the synopsis had me excited to read this book. I have seen some of Rebecca Zanetti’s books but I have never picked up one of her books, until now. I am so glad I did. I inhaled Demon’s Mercy, Dark Protectors #9, by Rebecca Zanetti. The whole freaking thing!
Logan is the perfect hybrid of duty vs desire. Yes, he is a hybrid, part demon par vampire, but his character in this book is delicious and deadly. You can just hear his growl of frustrations dealing with Mercy. Damn that growl! Gives ya shivers. When he goes from controlled alpha to ripping a Cyst’s head off in a snap, you just want to dive into the layers of his character.
Mercy, a Fae, was raised for one reason and one reason only, and that is all she knows but Logan has her questioning everything. She does not want war and will do anything to prevent that, even going against the Fae President. She is in a constant battle of doing right for her kind and her heart. The push and pull between Logan and Mercy is freaking H O T. They have a cat and mouse chase that you might find in a burlesque show. You think this is finally going to happen and then nope…. Ha! But Lord, when it does, YOWZA!
I am super excited about finding this series. Now, to start with book one of this series and read through them all. I’m ready for my next shot of the Dark Protectors series. I love finding new authors.
Seems like I have been waiting forever for Demon’s Mercy.
Demon’s Mercy is about Logan who is Zane’s, the king and leader of the Demon nation, brother.
Mercy who is a Fae trys to stop a disaster from happening. So she decides to kidnap Logan which is laughable because Logan is a Hybrid soldier and all around badass.
They also just happen to be mates.
I loved this book and highly recommend this and the rest of the series. Even though these are standalone, they’ll be more pleasurable reading them in order.
Love the whole series.

Loved it!!!
Once in a while you come across an author you just know you have to read everything they write, Rebecca Zanetti is one of those authors to me.
Demon Mercy is a well written, riveting read. I loved the characters, their interaction, and the engaging, dynamic storyline. I could not put this down and will definitely be recommend to others. I will be reading many more books by this author
This is book 9 in the Dark Protector’s series and you absolutely have to read previous books so you don’t get confused, especially the one directly before this one. This one is about Logan Kyllwood and Mercy O’Malley. Mercy has been sent by her people to take out Logan but she decides to kidnap him instead. She doesn’t agree with killing people without trying to change circumstances first. Logan is the youngest Kyllwood brother, and the brother of the demon leader Zane. He is prepared to undergo the ceremony to become one of the Seven when he is asked to track and retrieve one of the women that are necessary to bring down the evil they are trying to prepare for. He never expects to be kidnapped by a crazy faery, or to realize that this crazy faery is his mate.
I loved this installment to this series. I have wanted a story for Logan and Garrett ever since they showed up in the realm enforcer’s books and this one definitely didn’t disappoint me. Logan is definitely all grown up now! He is the typical Alpha male that we all love and when he decides that you need his help, he is all in. He will do everything in his power to protect the people he cares about, including going through a horrific ritual in order to prepare for anything. Mercy thought her life was set in stone. She is one of a few left of her species and it’s species we haven’t met before but are known by other’s to be crazy-the Fae. And I really love how they are introduced! Throwing these two together is like throwing wood onto a fire! It’s all combustible and action packed! Mercy is one of those characters that you aren’t sure of at first but by the end of the book you have fallen in love with them and can’t wait to see more. And throw in the snippet’s of Sam and the other Seven? I really can’t wait to see where this new story ARC is going to take us! I can only hope that all of the characters get their HEA-including the one that is still stuck!!
Logan Kyllwood is no stranger to duty and fate. It’s his duty to protect the Realm and Demon nation as well as his fate to become a member of The Seven, an elite and secret band of Brothers tasked with protecting the world against the ultimate evil, the Kurjan Ulric. Mercy O’Malley is a brilliant and slightly crazy Fae who is trying to keep the Fae people from assassinating Logan before he can fulfill his destiny and become a fully fledged member of The Seven… something her people believe will rip universes apart. What is Mercy’s plan to save Logan? Why kidnapping him of course! Join Logan and Mercy on their epic adventure that changes the entire Realm forever!
The Fae have decided to come out of hiding and save the world from being destroyed when the Seven form and dimensions collide. Mercy O’Malley is supposed to take out Logan Kyllwood, the last man set to join the Seven, but when she gets near him her blood sizzles and her heartbeat quickens. When she decides to kidnap him instead Logan goes along with it trying to figure out this new danger. Needless to say, neither one of them fights against the pull they have for each other even though they are fated to be on opposite sides of this war.
Logan was born a warrior and even though he is the youngest Kyllwood brother he has taken on a significant task of saving their world by joining the mysterious Seven. As with all of the other alpha heroes in this series, Logan is dark and broody but he has an element of fun that is brought out when he meets Mercy. Part of that is that she is Fae, a species he didn’t know was real. He jokingly calls her a fairy through the whole book, a title she begrudgingly accepts. It’s that humor that humanizes the story and makes she and Logan interesting.
I like that a new species has been introduced to this Dark Protector world. The discovery of what is “fae” makes this story interesting and I hope the author delves into that lineage more in future novels. Logan and Mercy were a fun pairing and I enjoyed their story and look forward to getting a glimpse into their future in the next Dark Protector story. I was given an ARC of this novel through NetGalley for my honest review and it was honest!
I absolutely love this series and I was so excited I was approved for an ARC! Once I started reading I was hooked! The action was awesome and the chemistry between Logan and Mercy was hot! Mercy is this cute Fae who takes no mess. Logan is a totally alpha male soldier but has a sweet side. They were a good fit. I enjoyed when Mercy would not just do what Logan said she has her own mind and didn’t have any problems telling him when to shove it lol! I can’t wait to read the next one!
*Received ARC from NetGalley
Here’s the deal, I am one of Rebecca Zanetti’s biggest fans but when I found out that Demon’s Mercy was Logan’s story I was a bit… meh. Logan just felt so YOUNG. If you’ve read Ms. Zanetti’s Dark Protector series, then you’ve watched Logan and his best friend Garrett grow up and in this book they’re only in their late 20s. That’s not young for romance novel age, but it feels young when many of the other heroes in this series are CENTURIES old. Of course, I never should have underestimated RZ’s ability to make me fall in love with a sexy alpha hero.
I adore this story! Logan *sigh* he is so sexy and strong and I am into him. He is way more of a classic Alpha hero than I thought he would be and totally worked. I didn’t expect him to be as fierce and experienced as he is. His total acceptance of his mate and his fate give me literal heart eyes. As fantastic as Logan is, Mercy stole the show. I adore her confidence and willingness to fight for what she believes in, even in the face of major opposition. Her growth as a character from chapter one impressed me to no end. Logan and Mercy are explosive together in the best way. Their chemistry is off the charts!
As in all Rebecca Zanetti novels, the banter is second to none and the world building is perfection. RZ has an amazing ability to flawlessly add details to an already complicated world, throw major twists in every book, and write a completely standalone novel. She’s a magician, I’m sure of it.
Overall, I highly recommend this book. I’ve been following this series for years and it just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait for Ivar’s book!
**I received an ARC of this book in order to provide an honest review**
Another fantastic book in this series. The name of the book makes perfect sense now that I have read it. Mercy is a firecracker and she doesn’t like to be told what to do. I’m not sure I could have held out as long as she did with Logan. I love how she tries and kidnap Logan for it to go totally wrong. I did laugh out loud a few times in this book and other times I was like get it on already. A lot happens in this book but a lot happened in the last book too. Logan and Mercy are perfect for each other. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
*I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Demon’s Mercy is a fast paced, paranormal romantic suspense. It is a part of this author’s Dark Protector series and I would recommend reading them in order for this book to make sense and to avoid spoilers.
Demon’s Mercy is the story of Logan Kyllwood, the younger brother of Zane and a hybrid demon-vampire. He is the ultimate hot, alpha, protective hero. In some areas, I did feel like he was overprotective of Mercy and his bossiness got a little redundant, but I did love this sexy man. Mercy is Fae (yes, a new species that hasn’t been present in the other books). She is one of the 3 keys that the Seven is searching for. She is a strong, stubborn character who is torn between her duty to her people and her love for Logan. I loved how hard core she was. She is determined, brilliant, and has no trouble defending herself.
This book has a lot of action with good fight scenes, teleporting, inventive weapons, and alternate dimensions. In Vampire’s Faith (the previous book), we learned little bit about the Seven. In this book, the Seven is expanded upon – both the other members of the Seven are further developed as well as the purpose of these warriors. There is some intrigue when it comes to discord between what the Seven believe and what the Fae believe about the dimensions and if inducting Logan into the Seven is necessary vs. catastrophic.
While this book has great world building and hot chemistry between Logan and Mercy as well as great suspense, I felt that parts of this book were a little redundant – such as the number of times Mercy attempted to run from Logan. I really enjoyed getting to see some of the characters from the previous books, especially Garrett and Sam. There are a few chapters from Hope’s POV and I am seeing a ton of similarities between her and Janie. I am hoping that the author does a little twist on this. One of the things that I would like to see in this author’s future books is a family tree as there are so many characters in this series that I can’t remember who is mated to who. Overall, I really enjoyed this fast-paced book and I am looking forward to the next one in the series. I received this book from Netgalley and I voluntarily leave this review
Logan and Mercy’s story was just what I needed! A whole lot of fun with sizzling chemistry and a healthy dose of seemingly impossible choices/ situations made for one great read that I couldn’t put down.
Logan has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders for almost all his life. He is a protector and a warrior at heart, and his family tops the list of those who must be protected – especially his niece Hope. The ritual to join the Seven in order to protect everything he holds dear from an unspeakable evil is looming over him after watching his best friend and brother-from-another-mother Garrett nearly die as he went through it. And now he is about to face his greatest challenge yet: a pint sized fairy (sorry, she prefers “fae”) who actually manages to kidnap him and tries to change his mind about going through with the ritual.
Mercy is one of the Keys needed to complete the task that will eliminate Ulric once and for all, but she is certain that the existence of the Seven will cause permanent damage to the universe. As it is, the original ritual that imprisoned Ulric destroyed/ pulled dimensions out of alignment and resulted in the near annihilation of her people. She has been raised with the knowledge that she is one of the ten remaining fae who will be responsible for keeping her race alive, and she has already been paired off with the king Niall. One look at those intense green eyes in a photo was all it took for Mercy to feel a pull unlike anything she experienced in the past which made her decision though. Her operation to kidnap and attempt to turn Logan away from the Seven is her last act of rebellion before her duty must be fulfilled.
The intense attraction to the petite whirlwind is definitely an inconvenience at best. Logan can’t believe he let down his guard enough to underestimate her not once but several times, and when both the fae and the Cyst start tracking Logan and Mercy, he can’t allow himself to make the same mistakes. She knows much more than she is willing to share, but Mercy can’t help wondering if her people have been completely honest with her as she learns more from Logan and his friends.
Demon’s Mercy contains everything I love about this author’s stories: suspense, action, romance, off the charts heat and attraction, and humor. Add in a fast paced plot that keeps you guessing with each new revelation, twist and turn that continues to advance the overall story arc of the series and sets up future books and you have a recipe for one amazing read in my opinion!
I was so excited to see this ARC available on NetGalley. Rebecca Zanetti is one of my all-time favorite authors and the Dark Protectors are my favorite paranormal romance series.
With that being said, I loved Demon’s Mercy. It was a fast paced, action filled book. The chemistry between Mercy and Logan is blazing and Zanetti kept you on your toes wondering what would happen next. I can’t wait for the next book!
