Deep South legends. Deep fried curses. Deep dish revenge . . .This Debutante Is Having A Ball!Way down south in the land of cotton, one belle’s plans are soon forgotten–when Sassy Peterson drives her Maserati off the road to avoid a deer and lands smack-dab in the proverbial creek without a paddle. The Alabama heiress should have known something weird was going on when she saw the deer’s … she saw the deer’s ginormous fangs. Hello, Predator Bambi! But nothing can prepare her for the leather-clad, muscle-bound, golden-eyed sex god who rescues her. Who wears leather in May? That’s just the first of many questions Sassy has when her savior reveals he’s a demon hunter named Grim. Also: Why would a troop of fairies want to give her magical powers and rainbow hair? Why would a style-challenged beast called the Howling Hag want to hunt her down? Most importantly, what’s a nice debutante like Sassy doing in a place like this anyway? Besides feeling Grim . . .

This book is hilarious. If you are looking for a silly, funny, giggle at any moment kind of book, this is it. It has all kinds of supernatural people thrown in with “normal” humans and the things that happen are hilarious. Can’t help but laugh out loud at Sassy! She is a wealthy debutante who gets into all sorts of trouble.
Lexi George does a great job combining humor and action in her Demon Hunting series. Although all of the books are about demon hunters, demons, and other paranormals, she manages to provide an original “big bad” for each book. The heroine of Demon Hunting With a Dixie Deb, Sassy, is almost the epitome of a Southern Deb. All she lacks is the snobby nastiness found in some. In fact, Sassy has spent her life trying to make everyone around her happy. The scene when she finally loses her cool in The Sweet Shop is amazing! The hero, Grim, is a typical Dalvahni warrior – arrogant and protective of the one he loves. Sassy and Grim were attracted to each other from the beginning and fell in love fairly quickly. Evan, from book 3, plays a much larger role in this book and he is definitely growing on me. I hope we see more of him in future books. The book ended with a bit of a cliffhanger. Hopefully, we will learn more about that in a future book. I highly recommend this book and series.
Must Read!
Gumdrops and gopher guts you don’t want to pass this series up. You do, however, want to read them in order. A lot of the characters were in previous books and it will help keep the whose-who in order. Besides the fact, you’ll want to buy the whole series at one time or be able to get the next one immediately after its predecessor. They are so good I’ve added the author to my auto-buy list, and it’s a shortlist.
What made me like it so much:
The characters are quirky, varied, and warped. Sassy is an optimistic people pleaser. A good southern girl who’s never cussed yet has her own set of expletives. Sweet marshmallows, a trip to Hannah not only opens her eyes it smacks her in the face with pixie dust for an overdue wake-up call.
Grim, who is well, grim. These Dalvhani are yummy as can be, but they tend to be a bit rigid when they first arrive in Hannah. Then Grim meets Sassy and Sassy meets Grim… and things happen. So does the laughter. If it hurts you to laugh stay away from this book until you get your laugh back. Because laughter will ensue. As well as smiles and possible over heating. Things get hot (As hot as the Dalvhani warriors), bright, and very colorful at times.
Overall: The storyline is compelling, the plot interesting and surprising at times, the world-building is done well, and the characters are original and intriguing. The author does and outstanding job with all her characters. There are a few (okay, less than a dozen) side characters that make this book even better. I’m not sure I would want to live in Hannah. But it would never be boring.
My Favorite Parts: The ending! It was totally unexpected and sooooo perfect. I might have cried a tiny little bit. Unfortunately it was the saddest part because it was the end and the next book won’t be out until April 2022. Oh I almost forgot. I love the purple what!
Recommendation? Read it! Get the whole series, it’s freaking awesome. I couldn’t put it down and read one book after the other until the last published book. If you want a fun book, with lots of laughter, fun, and shenanigans. This is the book for you.
The author continues to deliver page turners with lots of whimsical humour and steamy romance.
Hurricane Sissy blazes into life on a ray of sunshine. She is a force of nature to be reckoned with. Grim has no idea what hit him until it’s too late. Mother-of-pearl.
I highly recommend this book/series. You won’t be disappointed.
