You might be wondering how you’ll know when your playboy ways are coming to an end. For some it might be an unexpected pregnancy (ahem… you know who), for others it might be finally landing the one woman you’ve always wanted (cough… I won’t mention any names). For me, it was the death of my mentor and the subsequent reading of his will. The signs were there, they always are. But I didn’t notice … didn’t notice them until it was too late, and my demise was complete.
Demise Sign #1 – You find yourself thrust into the land of responsibility and you don’t immediately hightail it out of town.

Oh how I love the Bailey’s! Just this whole family I am loving. Love series that follows a family, it’s fun getting characters from previous books in the newer ones to see how they are holding up.
I was super excited to read Denver’s story. The little bits you get of him from Rome’s story I was totally intrigued with what his story was gonna be. He wasn’t what I was expecting him to be. He just melted my heart.
And Cleo was just the same. She broke my heart with her just trying to find her way in life. I got her feelings toward Denver in the beginning and was hoping it didn’t take him long to break through her walls.

Once again Piper gives us a Bailey! You know that family we all love and wish we could be a part of.
Denver, never getting married. A playboy that will not fall into the trap the others have fallen into. Marriage and all that is not for him. But we know there is always someone that can tame the wildest of the beast.
Cleo, not sure where she belonged. A woman that had never found her bearings, but suddenly had to manage her late father’s company with the man he spent a great deal of time mentoring. Oh, and did I mention Cleo hates him!!
This book had so much humor, so many feels, and so much growth! Watching these two come together and discover each other made for a great story!
I liked Denver and Cleo a lot. It was fun to watch them trying to ignore their attraction towards each other.
I was glad that Denver wasn’t the playboy one might have thought he would be. He was actually a pretty great guy and not the one running away from every obstacle. There was even a vulnerable side to him.
I didn’t understand Cleo’s doings at the end but I guess that was there for the obligatory twist right before the HEA.
To be honest, this time I don’t have much to say because the story was enjoyable and of course I liked the Bailey family. It’s a pretty great small town romance, just like all the other books were so far. Best to be enjoyed reading them in order.
Now I’m actually very excited for the next book and hope for some more fun times with Phoenix because she seems like a funny girl with a smart mouth.
Denver Bailey stole my heart.
I felt more emotional with his book. My previous picture of him was playboy/manwhore living without a care in the world.
This book gave me insight in to why he was the way he was and it pulled at my heartstrings.
He’s seriously the best.
Cleo came in struggling with identity, confidence and a host of other issues.
It was delightful to see how they helped each other grow into who they were meant to be.
Oh…with a whole lot of witty banter and steamy sexy scenes.
I suppose you could read this as a stand-alone but it would be so much better starting from the beginning.

This Bailey has left me with so many emotions! Oh Denver Bailey….. how the mighty playboy has fallen!!! Denver was the one Bailey that by his own proclamation would never fall in love or marry, he just wasn’t the type. Cleo was struggling to find herself and where she belonged and it didn’t hurt that she LOVED to drive Denver crazy. What happens when the two people who love to drive each other crazy are left to run a business together? Let’s just say there’s lots of sexual tension, witty banter and a turn of events that will leave you mind-blown! Piper Rayne has given us another INCREDIBLE Bailey family 5-Star read!
This is the fifth book in the amazing Bailey Series, and this is a great addition to the series. I loved Denver and Cleo’s sweet romance. The Baileys are amazing. Tanya Eby, Tim Paige did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Confessions of a Naughty Nanny, the next book in the Series.
This is the 5th book in this series and I love this family. If you haven’t read the other’s that is fine, but you totally should. The book is that much better if you do.
This is Denver’s book! I know. I was excited too. I wasn’t a huge fan of Cleo at the start of this book but I love being surprised by characters and this book surprised me. It was one of those situations that throws characters together and you get to watch the pieces fall into place.
I ended up loving both of these characters fiercely and I loved this story even more. It was emotional and sweet and so well paced for start to finish. It had a plot that kept you on your toes and characters you love.
I struggled a bit in the beginning of this story as Denver hasn’t been my favourite Bailey. Wow, once he’s layers were peeled away though I found myself looking at him from a different perspective.
Cleo really is this lost wandering soul looking for where she needs to be in the world.
The wonders of Lake Starlight and the Bailey’s create a magical growth journey for both.
I was super thrilled to be back with the Bailey’s and excited that Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy brought us Denver’s take of romance.
Confirmed bachelor Denver Bailey has no plans of falling for someone like the rest of his siblings. But, when the death of his mentor and boss Chip Dawson forces him to get way too up close and personal with Chip’s daughter, Cleo, he doesn’t stand a chance.
Cleo hates Alaska and all that Lifetime Adventures Stands for, or so she thinks, but, when she’s forced into a partnership with Denver, they’ll have to find a way to work together or lose Lifetime Adventures. When a chance at being on a reality TV show pushes Cleo and Denver even closer together, they quickly discover that they have more in common than they thought and that there really is a thin line between love and hate.
Both Cleo and Denver are such lost souls at the beginning of this book over Chip’s death that it tugged at my heartstrings. I loved watching them discover just how much they had in common. And, both have so much baggage that watching them wade through it all to get to one another was phenomenal. We finally learn why Denver sicks only to one night stands as well as why Cleo claims to hate Alaska. The backstory was really deep in this book and I gloried in every bit of character motivation it explained. ‘
The rest of the Bailey siblings and their significant others were as awesome as usual and quick to claim Cleo as one of their own as well as to call Denver out for being a dumba$$ when needed. Cleo’s sister, Bridget was also a great character addition that I kind of hope reappears in a future book.
I love watching a bachelor meet his match and Cleo is the ultimate woman for Denver. Along with an amazing backstory, the plot around the reality tv show is a lot of fun and makes Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy a great addition to the series. 5 stars.
I swear these two ladies blow my mind with each and every single book they release!! I look forward to each and every one of them. And from the moment we met Denver I just knew he was so much deeper than any of us gave him credit for. And of course he didn’t disappoint at all. And Cleo was his perfect match in every way. I loved the slow build up even though they had chemistry sparking my kindle up!!! I can’t put into words how much I love these Bailey siblings and can’t wait for the next book!!! If you haven’t started this series get on it asap!!! They are all 100 star books!!! ~By Tina
The Bailey’s are one of my Go To Series when I need a pick me up! Denver and Cleo definitely did not disappoint!
As always, Piper Rayne never disappoints and knows how to make me feel like I am right there experiencing the story right with the characters. I am at a loss of words…What an amazing read! I love all of the Bailey clan but Denver and Cleo’s story really caught my heart. This story really tore my heart strings. It had so many emotions. I laughed, I cried and I found myself wanting to throw my kindle a few times.
Denver and Cleo hated each other, although the sexual tension was definitely there. I loved the stubbornness in both of these characters and their determination of what they wanted.
I have read several of Piper Rayne’s book and have loved every single one! Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy is the fifth book in The Bailey’s Series. It can be read as a standalone although I suggest reading from book one. It will give you more intel on each and every character.
THIS.SERIES.IS.EVERYTHING! With every book that I get through, I just fall in love with the Baileys even more. Next up is Denver’s story and playboy he is not.
We have a bit of an enemies-to-lovers (just a little) in Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy and I enjoyed every moment that these two spend together. I loved that these two were forced to team up together and make their business flourish.
Besides the insane sizzling chemistry that has been brewing between them, we really start to dig deep into their characters and I truly loved getting to know them. Not only did they have their personal journey of grieving, but they needed to find some sort of balance to run this business together.
Learning about Denver and how he’s been dealing with things since he lost his parents was absolutely heartbreaking. I swear I keep saying this with every book, but Denver is my favorite Bailey so far. He won me over completely and I just want to hug him forever.
Denver and Cleo’s story was one of love and healing. They were absolutely beautiful together and I can’t recommend this series and book, enough.

Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy is book five in The Baileys series. It can be read as a standalone but the Baileys are such a fun entertain family I recommend if you haven’t already that you read them all. This one is Denver’s story and oh boy his story does not disappoint. Denver the give to you how it is kind of guy. His a playboy and sometimes troublemaker. When his mentor Chip passes away he get half of Chip’s business. the other half of the business goes to Cleo. These two are great for each other. Cleo also tells you how it is and does hold back when it comes to Denver. They have fun banter and there’s loads of sexual tension. These two goes from not liking each other to friends to so much more. As you read you learn more about Cleo and Denver and I loved the growth in the characters. This one is another great Bailey story. I can’t wait for the next one.

Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy was the fifth book in Piper Rayne’s Baileys series. Although technically they could be read as stand-alones, for the best experience, they should be read in order.
This was by far one of my favorite series. It had everything – humor, heartstring tugging, life lessons, hilarious sibling bantering, small town fun gossip and more. Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy was no exception. And I totally fell in love. Again.
The storyline was well written, keeping me hooked and intrigued from beginning to end. Denver and Cleo were both gorgeous, troubled people trying to find their way in life the best they knew how. We were provided with insight into their minds while watching them grow and develop. It was a mixture of serious and lightheartedness maintaining the perfect balance. No spoilers so no details, but it was a fun and well developed journey.
The authors also kept the entire Bailey clan front and center continuing to cultivate all characters; which provided additional depth and dimension to the storyline. I totally want to be in this family! Five siblings down and four to go. Phoenix is up next in Confessions of a Naughty Nanny and I can’t wait!
This dynamic duo Piper Rayne continue to impress me with their stories and Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy is no different. I love the Baileys and have been looking forward to Denver’s story. Denver and Cleo are perfect together. I really enjoyed how their story unfolds and they go from enemies to lovers. The chemistry is hot and the story is full of laughs and heartwarming moments.
This is the fifth book in the Bailey Siblings Series. They are stand alones, but trust me, you’ll want to read them all from the start!
You’ll absolutely love Grandma Dori! And you’ll love all of the Baileys.
This is Denver’s book.
Chip died and left Denver half the company. The other half is left to Cleo.
These two absolutely hate each other!!
I will admit that i didn’t like Cleo at first. I got the wrong first impression. I honestly thought she was going to be like her mother.
I ended up loving her and my heart broke for her.
This is a great read and I really can’t wait for the next!
Denver Bailey may have once described himself as a Self-Centered Playboy but this man stole my heart and gave me all the feels along the way!
Denver proved to be surprisingly deep while his emotional story unfolded. This was a welcome contrast to what we’ve seen in other books in the Bailey series.
An emotional journey between two souls wounded by the past but brought together in the most unlikely of ways was not only good for the heart but it made me believe in the healing power of unconditional love.
This story was a pure delight. Full of Bailey sibling love and downright hilarious moments, this is one book you won’t want to miss!
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Funny, steamy, heartbreaking, romantic and heartwarming…these are just a few words to describe another amazing book in this series. Denver and Cleo had obstacles to overcome, but with the Bailey family behind them to dish out tough love and support, their love should fly high.
Cleo and Denver
Thank you to Piper and Rayne. This was a wonderful adventure with remarkable characters that I did not want to say “Goodbye” to. And I do not need to, as I know I will see them again in future books. I look forward to that. Great book. You will love reading about Cleo and Denver.
