Though you do not have to read the other books in this series to enjoy this one, I would strongly recommend it. The previous stories contain the continuing family drama and conflict that wraps up nicely in this book.
Out of all the books in this series, I think I enjoyed Smith’s the most. All the guys have serious childhood issues and emotional baggage to sort through and end up with great women who love and support them and help them deal with it all as well as strong (dysfunctional, lol) brotherly bonds but Smith seems to have really gotten the worst deal out of the bunch. His story wraps up the series perfectly and all questions are finally answered when the last of the secrets from their past are revealed. I really enjoyed how it all worked out in the end with all the guys and loved seeing Smith find love and get his happy ending. This story is full of emotions, drama and conflict (both internal struggles and with others), letting go of the past and new beginnings, self-esteem and self-reflection, possibilities and hope, and finding family, strengthening bonds, and love. Overall, a great series that pulls you in with interesting, complex characters and an engaging storyline.
*I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I have enjoyed the previous books in this series, and this one did not disappoint. This series is based on brothers whose past is truly heartbreaking . But somehow, these strong men raise above it all.
Smith Ramsey is the brother Cash and Reid didn’t know existed. A man whose devastating childhood has affected him so much in his adulthood that he feels he is not a worthy man. When he meets his new client, Erin, little does he know that his life will change forever.
It’s a story about family or lack thereof. It’s also a story about opening ones heart, giving a relationship a chance, having hope and finding love.
This last book ties up all the loose ends from previous stories and we finally have the brothers finding their bond and HEA.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I just finished reading this book for the second time and it still packs a punch. I just adore Smith and find him to be an amazing and inspiring hero, in more than once sense of the word. This is a must read and remember the tissues.
Original review:
WOW – what a powerful and moving (no pun intended) story! This is an amazing book of love, family, self-respect and dignity that will blow you away with it’s authenticity and charm. The main core of characters are a unique group that exhibit their brand of family, acceptance and love.
To get the full impact of Smith’s story, I recommend you start with the first book in the series. However, if you go for this one, you will definitely want to read the previous books too.
Smith’s personal torment is lessened by Erin’s unexpected appearance in his life. She is the opposite of Smith in almost every way. She’s tiny to massiveness. She’s cheery to his grumpiness. She likes to talk and he’s taciturn. Where they are similar is their sexual appetite for each other. They have some sexy, steamy times that you will need a cold drink.
I am a fan of Marie Harte and have read many of her books but, I truly believe this one hits all the marks without exception and is the perfect romance novel.
