Delivered, Book 2 of The Devil’s Duet, is not a standalone. It should be read after reading Depraved.Gabrielle Duval belongs to me. I’ve made sure of that. Now it’s time to eliminate the man who kept us apart. My father. The devil himself. His reign of terror ends here. On my terms. Those who are triggered by dark storylines, please proceed cautiously!
Delivered by Eva Charles is book Two in The Devils Duet. This continues the story of JD Wilder and Gabrielle Duval, so you should really read the first book ‘Depraved’ to fully enjoy this one. This book does pick up where the last one left off so we are taken back into their story quickly. Gabrielle is growing stronger in her attitude revealing more of the strong women she is. JD of course is looking into the secrets that are being revealed and working to find the answers. JD and Gabrielle burn up the pages with their hotness of course. I enjoyed their story and will be looking for more books from this author.
~Trying to deal with the very Devil itself~
—>>> The push and pull between Gabby and JD does not wane between them, it just grows stronger in this second book. One main character will be tested with tragedies and questions of faith, but it will serve to make their connection that much more solid. More questions will be posed, more details will come to light which will churn your stomach, and more soothing of the soul will be made. JD’s fifteen years lost can be recouped, if he will just open his heart a little more to let the most important thing he let slip away back in where it belongs.
Intense and fraught with many more agonizing truths, but with a so-very-satisfying ending to their story. I am sure more amazing reads are to come with his brothers’ stories!
Fantastic continuation to the duet. Delivered picks up right were the cliffie in Depraved, Book1, left us. The author continues the story leaving us in suspense as to what exactly what happened in the past with JD, his family and his father’s role in past events. Events that molded JD into the hardened man he is today and have him. The storyline intensifies as Gabrielle struggles with the hotel fire, the deaths and destruction that seem to be plaguing her. As for JD, he is convinced his father had a role in all Gabby’s recent troubles and sets out to prove it. Yet at the heart of it all, JD simply wants is to protect her and to keep her safe. But his overbearing controlling ways seem to push Gabrielle further over the edge.
There story is HOT, Intense and exciting. The characters will get under your skin and their emotions will warm your heart and have you reeling. JD is still the guy you want to hate but can’t and Gabby is the strong woman that just wants the truth and answers. 5 Stars for a great conclusion to the duet. I highly recommend reading the Devil’s Duet and this reader is anxiously awaiting Smith and both the Wilder brother’s stories. 2 Thumbs Up.
This is the second and concluding part of the duet, and carries straight on from where Depraved ended and JD and Gabrielle’s story is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. This is a well written story which is dark, gritty, intense, and powerful with secrets, suspense, twists, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I recommend. The only down side, in my opinion anyway, is that this story felt very rushed.
Delivered made me nervous!!! I was crazy over JD and Gabrielle’s story. This heart pounding conclusion had me so close to the edge, I was afraid I would come out unscathed. Eva Charles brought an amazing duet! You will not be disappointed. There are a few sensitive issues that had me doubting. But once you come over that hump, all is better in this dark world. Gabrielle and JD were meant to be. But will they get their HEA together? You will need to read Delivered to find out!

Absolutely Flipping Fantastic!
Delivered is the second and final book in the Devil’s Duet written by author Eva Charles. This duet has a continuing storyline. Therefore, it is necessary to read Depraved, the first book in the duet before beginning this novel. I absolutely fell in love with JD in the first book, and I just couldn’t wait to read the conclusion. My expectations were really high going in, and Ms. Charles did not disappoint!
The storyline is undeniably captivating. Not only is the storyline fabulous, but the characters are so well developed. I went through so many emotions while reading this book. I often felt like I was on a roller coaster, and I must admit that I felt a bit drunk when I finished. This is undoubtedly one of my favorites of 2019!
Grab a drink, a spare pair of panties, then buckle up, and enjoy this fabulous ride!

Just like the first one, I was taken a bit by surprise by how involved I was in the story and how much I enjoyed it. It was a great continuation of the first book and a very satisfying ending to the duet. JD is a human under all those layers of jerk, and Gabrielle proves herself one incredibly tough cookie through the trials the first book sets up.
Together they are a force to be reckoned with, and it takes Gabrielle and their friend Smith to get him to become what I’d call fully human.
There’s mystery, suspense, thrills and some dark romance here. If you enjoy that type of read, I’d recommend this duet!
I couldn’t wait until Delivered came out to finish the duet! It was a great conclusion to Depraved. There was a lot of angst and it was so hot and steamy! The relationship between Gabrielle and JD drove me crazy but it was a good crazy. We finally got our answers to their relationship. I am so glad I took a chance on Eva Charles. I can’t wait to read more of her!
This is book two in this dark romance duet and you must read book one first. Wow, what a book! This book leaves it all on the table as J.D. and Gabrielle’s continues to unfold. As this was a dark romance, there are plenty of things that could be triggers for some and honestly, some stuff that will be big turnoffs for others. There is a lot going on here. Betrayals, deception, heartbreak, twists, corruption intense emotions and intrigue, are all layered into this gripping read. I loved Gabrielle. She was a strong heroine that you could really feel for. J.D., well in the end he did truly seem to love and want to protect Gabrielle. I just really, really hated some of the things he did as a way of “Protecting Her”. This seriously took away his hero status for me and regardless of what else he did or said, I just couldn’t let it go and move past it. So ultimately it cost this book a star.
Holy moly did Eva Charles deliver something absolutely fantastic with Delivered. The range of emotions with Gabrielle has you reaching for the tissues and even new panties at times. She is so strong with everything that is thrown at her. Her bond with JD only gets stronger even when she pushes away. JD is amazing throughout Delivered. I love how he does everything in his power to not only protect Gabrielle but to prove that their love has never gone away. You will be glued to the pages when it comes to this one. Note this is not a stand alone and you must read Depraved first. I really can’t wait for more from Eva Charles and Smith’s story. If you have read Eva Charles and her sweet side then you really need to read this other side of her. I loved Delivered and you need to one click this one.
This book is appropriately named because it did.
Just when you think you know what a scum bag his father (POTUS) is he turns out to be much worse, so much worse. I don’t think I could have dreamed up how much worse.
You find out JD is in fact a good guy and protects those he loves. He was not joking about his daddy he really is the devil.
I enjoyed this instalment, very hard to read in the beginning and so many terrible secrets. But it ends on a great note.
4 smoking hot stars!! I’m sad this duet is over but finished up beautifully.
This is book two of the “Devil’s Duet”.
This is the conclusion of Gabrielle and JD’s story. And boy is it an ending!! This book was definitely controversial and has some clear triggers (if you have any). But it fit in the book perfectly and made the villain stand out clear.
This book was super sexy. Like I thought.. hmm maybe I want to do that shit. I’m def not a sub but I thought about it. Lol. JD pissed me off when he revealed secrets. I was very disappointed and it kind of killed my massive crush on him. But he earned it back. Lol. I am so curious about the other brothers and so much more!!
The beginning of the book just did not capture my attention like the first book but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
The second of the Devil’s Duet, and this is meant to be read after Depraved as Delivered starts where Depraved leaves off; Julien looking for Gabrielle. JD just wants to protect Gabby, while Gabby fights JD at every turn. If only JD would share with Gabby everything that is going on and the reasons for the way things are. Will JD be able to keep Gabby safe or will he end up having to share the information that will surely break her?
I was so excited for the rest of this story, and now I’m a bit bummed as for me this sort of fell flat. There were still lots of twists and turns, loads of drama. I felt like there were things that were just left unfinished with certain issues, and there were others that it seemed like they were forgotten about and then the author had to do a rush job to give us the answers. This ended up being an ok story, and I give this 4 stars.
Delivered took me on a journey to the dark side in a whole new way. It was an amazing read that I am still processing. The darkness came from places I didn’t expect. It made my breath hitch, my stomach heave, and my heart bleed. JD and Gabrielle’s story is wrapped in turmoil and pain. Watching them work through all the dark to get to the light was inspiring. From the very beginning of The Devil’s Duet, I felt hope for JD. I felt as though he was hiding many secrets, the biggest of all, his love for Gabrielle. Never has a title of a book fit the story so well. Delivered is the ultimate word to describe so many facets of this book. Everyone gets delivered in some way, shape, or form.
The Devil’s Duet kept me glued to the pages. The characters captured my heart while they made me laugh, smile, cry, and swoon. JD’s controlling and possessive tendencies are what made him so adorable. Even though these qualities drove Gabrielle insane, it is also what makes her love him to his inner soul. Even though Gabrielle has loved JD for as long as she can remember, she still fights to stand on her own two feet and be the strong female the JD doesn’t even know he needs. This push and pull relationship is magnetic and left me wanting a JD of my very own.
I also want to mention the numerous supporting characters that we meet along the journey. They all had an important part to play in this story and some leave you wanting more. JD’s best friend, Smith, is one of those characters. He takes no crap from JD and has no issues with putting him in his place. They have a mutual respect that goes back for years and I’m sure he has a story of his own to tell in a future book.
This duet was nothing like I expected; it was so much more. It is not your typical dark and dominant alpha male claiming what he believes he can. There is a whole other side to the darkness here. Darkness that lurks behind closed doors, darkness that lurks in the recesses of the mind, and darkness that hides in the shadows waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting and helpless. The only way to fully enjoy everything that is The Devil’s Duet, is to pick up the books and read them yourself. I have now found a new author to love and enjoy.
Just when you think the first book in this duet was tumultuous, along comes the second and blows Depraved out of the water. Delivered has a trigger warning for a reason. This author does not beat around the bush when it comes to hard topics. Pain and misery seep from the pages as if the very fibre of the book is bleeding with the characters.
We start back where Depraved finished and the stakes cannot be any higher for JD and Gabrielle. Destruction and loss are not just physical, they are physiological.
I cannot remember the last time I became so invested in characters at such an early stage of the book.
“It was all this. You trying to repair my soul.”
The way this author spun the tale, I found my own morality was called into question. Topics that I wouldn’t consider before were up for grabs because of something I read and how it affected the protagonists and me. For long moments, I questioned the devil’s work. One character was so purely evil I’m sure he bled black, not red. It was this particular person who had me wondering if murder was an option and could you escape prosecution from it. I know I wouldn’t look good in an orange jumpsuit, that’s for sure.
Gabrielle discovers so many revelations. Some so hard to bear they nearly knocked the breath out of me! Through it all, she has JD by her side. Even when she’s in so much pain, she can’t bear to have any human kindness. JD never backs off he’s beyond persistent and I love that about him.
‘Oh, JD. You are so complicated, and yet so predictable. Your concern for me, your love, often emerges in twisted misshapen forms, shrouded by darkness, but it is always light at the centre. It’s what has always drawn me to you. Like a moth to a flame.’
I have one more point to make. Smith. That man is a danger to any human with ovaries, and it looks like he’s getting a book real soon. Eeek!
Secrets, lies and danger await JD and Gabrielle in “Delivered”, part two of The Devil’s Duet by Eva Charles. When we last saw them, JD was rushing to find Gabrielle who was working late at her hotel. His feelings of despair and helplessness resonated throughout the book which made me wish some good fortune would come his way. All he had ever wanted was to be with Gabrielle, love her unconditionally and keep her safe. He was her protector, her savior and her future and their passionate memories became the reality that they both deserved.
The evil surrounding JD and Gabrielle was heightened when tragedy struck and amidst all the chaos, he feared for her life. Dark secrets were revealed that were unpleasant and destructive and affected everyone involved. Tracks were covered so the enemy remained untouchable, or was he? Will the severity of his actions ever be exposed, or will he remain free to strike again? JD knew his father was behind all of the bad things that had and were happening, and he was determined to exact revenge on him until he never hurt anyone ever again. He felt that he could not keep Gabrielle safe so he devised a plan to rid the world of his father once and for all. JD had been carrying around his own secrets his whole life which had made it difficult for him to trust anyone. Gabrielle was the only bright spot in his life and without her, he would be nothing.
Delivered book 2 in the Devils Duet series by Eva Charles brings us back to Charleston, back to JD and Gabrielle’s story where everything is coming to a head and a battle is soon to either make or break them in half but it could bring them closer together.
When Gabrielle’s hotel is burned to the ground, Gabby has officially lost all she owns. She put her blood, sweat and tears into her hotel but there is more to the fire than meets the eye and it was more than just an accident. A death and everything that has led up afterwards means so much more is could there be someone trying to take down Gabrielle?
“Light shines brightest in the Dark” Gabrielle
JD is in Full Panic mode when he sees Gabrielle’s future go up in smoke, but he knows he is not fully equipped to protect her as much as he think and as much as he tries he knows that with her hotel burning to the ground, and the other things that have been happening with the warehouse fires and things from his past are finally coming to a head and all the lies will be brought to light, and someone is going to pay with their life.
“The Sins of the Father are always visited upon the son”
Eva Charles kept us hanging with the ending of book one Depraved, and brought the final blow in Delivered, I for one could not put this down because I needed to know what happened with JD and Gabrielle, To see where everything was going to lead, what twists and turns this rough road was going to bring us out on. I for one and hoping that she continues on with this series, I am dying to know how the siblings turn out.
Delivered continues straight on from where Depraved left off, even reminding us of the exciting cliffhanger at the end of the first book.
Oh no, why did you do it? My heart is breaking into tiny pieces you evil author, my stomach feels like it has lead in it and there is a lump in my throat that is making it hard to swallow. You know what you did you scoundrel, I’m not giving anything away, however I forgive you!
Intrigue, mystery and mayhem are certainly the order of the day in this second book too. Answers to questions are slowly forthcoming but then more questions pop up. It’s a little like those puzzles where you’re not sure if a piece really fits in that spot because it could also fit in another shaped the same, very clever. All is revealed bit by bit and I have to say that is a good thing as DW as a character is one of the most despicable I’ve come across.
Terrific descriptions of both the scenes and characters enable readers once again to easily and clearly visually see the story as it is read in this fast paced book. Steamy intimate scenes between the lead characters are fresh and at times fun.
Another good story and I look forward to reading the next book in this Charleston series..ah now Smith is an interesting man for sure.
Well, Eva Charles definitely DELIVERED JD to us on a handsome, arrogant silver platter and I for one am not even remotely disappointed. If you haven’t read the first book in this duet, Depraved, don’t read any further because some of what I may say here would spoil that book for you and you MUST read it to understand fully the dynamics in this story. When we left JD and Gabrielle, their world was completely obliterated as they knew it. There are some definite tragedies that each must contend with. There are many truths that must be revealed and secrets (some serious bombs indeed) that must be released in order for these two to even come CLOSE to being who they are meant to be together. While reading, I wasn’t completely sure they had it in them. Seeing the lengths that JD would go through to protect those he loves is an absolutely beautiful thing to see, despite the fact that many don’t like the way he goes about it. JD showed his beautiful side and yes, I physically swooned…(you will know when when you get to that part lol). Eva ties up some loose ends for us along with bringing us even more to look forward to his her Charleston, NC world.
Julian has been dealing with his father for years but when it threatens the life of the woman he loves he can’t stand let it go. Gabrielle has just seen everything she worked for years ruined and has no idea why. Can Julian protect her and see his father pay at same time? Will Gabrielle and Julian finally be able to be together?
