Delivered, Book 2 of The Devil’s Duet, is not a standalone. It should be read after reading Depraved.Gabrielle Duval belongs to me. I’ve made sure of that. Now it’s time to eliminate the man who kept us apart. My father. The devil himself. His reign of terror ends here. On my terms. Those who are triggered by dark storylines, please proceed cautiously!
Wow, what a ride. The conclusion to The Devil’s Duet was an emotional roller coaster with twist and turns. Gabby and JD are explosive together. I loved them exploring their dark sides together…they really heat the pages up.
Their journey is an intense and emotional one that has a big surprise that I never saw coming. It deals with some real life situations that can be triggers for some and is hard to read just knowing that this does happen to many. I was able to read through it without it being a problem.
All in all I really enjoyed this duet.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Book 2 in The Devil’s Duet, make sure you have read book 1 Depraved first as this is a continuation of that story. Delivered answered lots of questions that were left after Depraved, we get a lot more of the background between Gabriella and JD through their teenage years and also a lot more info on JD’s father who is now the President.
We learn a lot more about the BDSM references to when they were teenagers and playing sexual games that really they should know nothing about, JD’s father turns out to have had a very nasty hand in this and we learn a lot more about him and his evil ways and dirty undertakings. JD is still on a one man mission to protect Gabriella any way he can as well as plans to take out his father.
Gabriella seems a lot more vulnerable in this book, she has lost the strength and fight in her character due to personal loss and the reality of the situation she is in settling in on her. She tries to stay true to herself by staying away from JD and his controlling influences knowing she may very well lose herself totally if she stays with him. But of course JD does his best to protect her his own way.
There are a couple of plot points in here that may not go down too well with some readers, but I understand why JD did what he did in an attempt to convince his father that he had no feelings for Gabrielle, but she felt that for the next 15 years! Also the ending was a bit anti-climatic as JD surges ahead with plans to kill his father, but fate seems to step in here.
Overall a good read, I did enjoy this as a duet and would read more from Eva again.
YASSSSSSSSSSSS. This book was EVERYTHING! It was everything I had hoped for and SO MUCH MORE. Ok, so that may be a lot of caps, but it’s warranted!
After the end of Depraved I was left BEGGING for more. We were completely left on the edge of our seats and I couldn’t wait to have the burn soothed. (Pun 100% intended) As awful as the fire was, it was the perfect beginning for this book. It helped Gabby make JD take a few steps back, and put him a few pegs down from the pedestal he’d been on. There was so much drama and so many interesting twists. We go to learn A LOT about Georgie and we really got to see a completely different side of Gabby. During this time, we also got to see a great new side to Smith!!
In Depraved we got a really good idea of the life that JD and Gabby now live, but I really wanted to see more into their past. We knew DW was this monster of a man, but hadn’t really learned a whole lot to know why. Holy crap did we find out why!!!! The amount of crap this man shit on people was insanity. We got some major bombs dropped on us, some crazy twists and some really interesting turn-arounds in this book. DW really was kind of the center of all of that. Beyond the shit storm that was DW, it was so good to see JD and Gabby grow and evolve. JD really evolved something serious in this book, but per the usual, I was really upset at him many times for hiding crap. And of course these three kept us on this amazing emotional roller coaster. It was just SOOOO well done!!
Here we go with supporting characters again. Smith and Lally are AMAZING! This story really was made complete with them. Lally was HYSTERICAL, and I loved seeing this new side to Smith. They were really a key factor in this story and made a huge difference.
Eva, you did a SPECTACULAR job on this duet. I CANNOT wait to see what comes next and I desperately want to go back and read everything else you have now. I’m so sad I haven’t read you before now!!
“Nothing is ever completely destroyed. There is no such thing as the perfect crime.”
Delivered had me on the edge of my seat the entire book. It picks up from where Depraved ended and there was not a dull moment. There is gruesome pain and suspense that will have you trying to guess what will happen next. In my opinion, this one is a lot darker than the first book and I LOVED it!! We are given more details about the past which answers all the lingering questions I was previously left with. This was a perfect conclusion for Julian and Elle. I definitely recommend this duet!

Get ready for the final part of The Devil’s Duet and finally learn all the secrets and lies that have kept JD and Gabrielle apart for all these years.
Delivered picks up right where Depraved left readers biting their nails and wondering just what in the heck was going to happen next!
This is a great second-chance romance duet, with some serious romantic suspense thrown in, does not disappoint. There’s so much back history to the story of JD and Gabrielle, so much that JD has kept from her. And it’s all revealed at last in Delivered.
I loved the romance and love between JD and Gabrielle. It was buried under some serious guilt and over protectiveness by JD that hid his true feelings. But once the truth was finally revealed—once Gabrielle truly understood the burden JD has bore for all these years—their love and their trust in the other is evident and awesome.
I’m leaving this review brief and detail free for a purpose. The Devil’s Duet is something you need to read to experience. And there’s more to come! I can’t wait for Smith’s story next!
Wow, what a great book. I was so excited to read this one to see how Gabby and Julian’s story would turn out. There was so much mystery and intrigue throughout, you will be turning the pages just to see what would happen. I look forward to Smith’s book.
Delivered, book 2 in the Devil’s Duet, picks up right where Depraved left off. This entertaining book is full of suspense and twists and turns. Threats are made. Secrets are revealed. And the ending ties up all the loose ends. JD continues to have great animosity towards his father as he strives to uncover his misdeeds – past and present. Gabrielle is no fragile flower and pushes back when JD tries to be Mr. Overprotective and makes sure she is treated like and equal partner in their relationship. The two continue to have great chemistry with a fair number of intense, very descriptive sex scenes. The author does a great job depicting how one may handle something devastating, but the grief part dragged on. After that, the book moved at a good pace, until the very end which seemed a bit rushed. I really liked getting to know more about Smith (I love his character!) and I am hoping that he and JD’s brothers get their own books. Overall, I enjoyed this book as the characters were likable, there was the right amount of suspense, and the storyline was good. I received this book for free.
Great conclusion! Everything I’d hoped it to be and more. This book…. wow. It’s gritty, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twist and turns , oh gosh my head was spinning. I wasn’t expecting some of the crazy things, so totally surprised.
JD and Gabrielle are both great characters and I loved them both. Together they are explosive and perfect for each other. If I could’ve given this wonderful book more stars I would have. I absolutely loved it.

Great conclusion! Everything I’d hoped it to be and more. This book…. wow. It’s gritty, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twist and turns , oh gosh my head was spinning. I wasn’t expecting some of the crazy things, so totally surprised.

This was a great follow up in this duet. If you have read the first book you know the shocking ending. This book picks up where that one felt off and wooowee it was another wind ride. Just like the first book, the relationship between Gabrielle and JD really kept me guessing. I loved it, but this story was also about so much more then just them getting a HEA. The first half of the story was hard to read. Lots of sadness but in the end these characters get a great and well deserved ending to their second chance. I wish I could say more but diets are always so hard to review. I don’t want to give too much away. But I’m so glad justice was finally served for so many people in this story. 4 stars #2OCCJD
love how this one just continues from Depraved it is one powerful thrilling story from page one and has your heart racing a mile a minute as we discover secret after secret and answers but what is the real truth, you get all the feels intense love, grief, protection as JD fights his way to the truth and protects Gabby the only way he knows how. I loved these characters they make a big impact on every page and I am so interested in Smith I loved his heart hard he was so invested in JD as his friend and security and I had the upmost respect for this man. Fantastic writing that you cant put down.
Starting off right where we were left hanging with Depraved (The Devil’s Duet #1), the devastation around JD and Gabrielle is everywhere. Can these two actually survive and have a happily ever after?
The secrets are unfolding; the story is becoming more clear. There is one person that is responsible for the turmoil that is running amok in this small town is now the man in charge.
What will it take to unleash the side of JD that we all know is brewing. Like a teapot waiting to whistle. JD is going to seek revenge and he won’t stop until everyone is safe.
This is an emotional journey that we take for resolution. Good conclusion to this duet! Bring on the next stories from the side characters in this duet. Can’t wait to hear their stories!!!

“Light shines brightest in the dark”
We pick up right where we left off at in book one.
Elle is having a hard time coping with the reality of what happened and survivors guilt is weighing heavy on her. I am going to be honest, there are a couple of times I wanted to shake her and tell her to pull up her big girl panties.
JD is now faced with his own guilt regarding not only that his presence in her life may be the reason behind this all, but also with his past. He knows he has to come clean and tell Elle of the actions his father forced from him and the truth behind the abrupt ending of their childhood romance.
As secrets are slowly revealed bonds will be tested and some truths may just be too much to forgive (I suggest taking a deep breath because ‘OMG’ twisted and shocked are mild responses).
I still have a couple of questions as thing were left up in the air – what happened to the accused fire starter? Who was responsible for the end? I am hoping I will get these answers and more in the brothers’ story * hint hint*
Hang on tight as Delivered takes its reader on one twisted and emotionally charged journey.
I was so looking forward to this conclusion of the duet from reading Depraved but this one fell short for me. I had high expectations for this book and sometimes they were met but others I was left disappointed. This book was full of angst and emotional turmoil which was right on par with the first one. JD is still the brooding sexy alpha and I love him but in this book his choices left a little to be desired. Gabby finally finds out why she was sent away and it is hard to deal with. They have a tough road ahead of them and their relationship, can it survive all the betrayals?
Overall it was a good book with the writing of the characters and the plot, but it just didn’t live up to the expectations set forth in the first book. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future.
JD realises that there is more going on then he realised and, but Gabrielle is more determined to fight him as every turn.
Gabrielle knows that JD is keeping things from her, as she finds out the truths and lies, she starts to realise that she was blaming JD when she perhaps shouldn’t have been, but something is still holding her back from giving him what he wants, all of her.
JD learns more and more about what his father has done, with everything that JD learnt will he still do everything is his power to protect Gabrielle even if it means losing her forever.
All the questions are answered with an amazing conclusion.
The reader is thrown back into the fray fairly quickly and the story picks up exactly where it left off in the first book. Julian is still controlling and once we discover secrets from the past, you can’t help but understand him better and why he needs to control everything. Julian has felt isolated for a long time and didn’t feel like he could trust anyone. But will he be able to let anyone in now? Gabrielle is sick of the secrets and feeling inferior. She doesn’t feel like Julian is treating her like his equal. It’s as though she is an object made of glass rather than a grown woman who can make her own decisions and run her own life. That’s why I found Gabrielle’s strength refreshing when she made the decision to take back control from Julian. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the interactions between Smith and Gabrielle. He has become a favourite character of mine. He is a straight shooter who refuses to lie preferring to be honest in order to do his job well.
Throughout the story, there were so many questions. There were hidden secrets and motives that caused you to question everything. There were some gob smacking revelations that made me think about the depths of depravity some people were willing to sink into for their own pleasure. I did enjoy reading Julian and Gabrielle’s story. It was an intense tale with heartbreaking moments as well as being action packed, hard hitting and captivating.
Delivered is book two in Eva Charles’ Devil’s Duet series. It cannot be read as a standalone. It begins where book one, Depraved ended.
Delivered begins with Gabrielle’s dream burning to the ground and Julian unable to find her in the wreckage, not knowing if she is alive or trapped in the burning hotel . . . a fire he suspects was started at his father’s request as a way to hurt and control him once again.
While Gabrielle may escape the fire with hr life, she is in no way left intact by he evil machinations of DW. As the book continues, and the plot begins to unravel, readers are left following a trail of depravity that goes back to Julian and Gabrielle’s childhood . . . one that Julian refuses to allow to happen again.
As Julian plots for ways to get revenge on all the heinous crimes committed by his father, who happens to be the current President of the United States, he also needs to find a way to not only protect Gabrielle but gain back her love and trust that has been tested to the point of breaking . . . but at what cost to himself?
Delivered was an amazing ending to this duet! It continues to be dark and twisted and definitely pushes comfort zones, but is well worth it. (If you don’t like dark, stay away!) These characters continue to have a push and pull that dances around the edges of love and hate as their relationship has been tempestuous for years. They need each other, yet can’t ever seem to get to their happy without something else crashing down to tear them apart. As Julian seeks his vengeance, he just may lose himself and is more than willing to do that if it keeps his loved one’s safe from his father.
Smith continues to be an intriguing and stand out character as do Julian’s brothers. Lilah is also a fantastic addition!
This duet is definitely not for everyone, but I absolutely loved it. It was dark, dangerous and thrilling. I loved watching these characters interact with each other and appreciated the journey they were on. When dealing with the devil, you are bound to be burned . . . but, it’s up to Julian to see if he can truly be delivered. 5 stars!
This picked up right where book 1 left off. It was so much better than the first book for me. The author did a great job tying up the entire story and had some very steamy scenes in between. I recommend this one for some good entertainment.
3.5 stars
There was a big build up of suspense in the previous book, Depraved, especially with the cliffhanger from book one. As Delivered picks up from those last moments of Depraved it began with much intensity.
Through the duet’s conclusion that intensity remained a slow burn and while the relationship between Gabrielle and JD evolved into what it had been and what it was destined to be, the story line itself left me feeling unsatisfied.
For one, so much of the “big bad” was directed at JD’s father. It’s discussed by a few of the characters that he’s such a horrible person, but mainly this comes mostly from Julian’s perspective. As the reader, I would have preferred to experience his evilness within the story, not just be told he was evil. Had the villain had an actual presence in the story, I feel like it would have bonded it all much better and made the story that much stronger.
My other issue was that, with the constant tension building as Julian strives to take down his evil father, I was expecting a much better conclusion to that. Something more epic to go along with all that suspense the characters were dealing with. It was just anti-climactic for me and I felt kinda let down.
Julian and Gabrielle were still very strong and relatable characters and I really enjoyed them together, but the story as a whole fell short for me.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
I am the devil’s spawn. The son of evil incarnate. The heir to corruption and depravity. Gabrielle Duval once belonged to me. And weather she likes it or not she’s destined to be mine again. What will it take to lure this luscious woman back into my bed? A deal with the devil himself, of course. My name is JD Wilder, and this is the story of how I reclaim what is mine.
Delivered is the second book in the Devil’s Duet by Eva Charles. You must have read Depraved before reading this book or your going to be so lost. Delivered picks up right where Depraved left off. I fell so in love with Julian and Gabrielle in the first book. I could not wait to see what happens. I am quiet frankly sorry to see our time with these two end. This is where Julian has to play the game with a psychopath of a father. How is that even going to end well. Gabby’s hotel has burnt to the grown and she has lost everything. JD is crazed with trying to get to her. He knows that his father has had to have something to do with this. He also has to deal with the FBI breathing down his neck because of his grandfather. This book is filled with mystery and you are going to spend a lot of time on the edge of your seat, turning the pages as fast as you can. I loved the time we got to spend in this duet and I am so looking forward to Smith’s story!!
