Delivered, Book 2 of The Devil’s Duet, is not a standalone. It should be read after reading Depraved.Gabrielle Duval belongs to me. I’ve made sure of that. Now it’s time to eliminate the man who kept us apart. My father. The devil himself. His reign of terror ends here. On my terms. Those who are triggered by dark storylines, please proceed cautiously!

Delivered (The Devil’s Due Book 2)
“Gabrielle Duval belongs to me.
I’ve made sure of that.”
This is book 2 and not a standalone
Read Depraved first.
This book has left me in my feelings
JD I really like how he protects the people he loves everything about this book was
on point and I was rooting for the MC
A great conclusion to the MC.
This book did just that delivered.
I am obsessed with this series.
I voluntarily read this my review.
I loved this book not only did it drag me far deeper into a world with Gabrielle and JD but it also pulled my emotions into it.
Gabrielle and JD’s relationship was almost completely different than what they had in Depraved because they still had the undeniable chemistry and smoking hot scenes but this time they were more connected on a more emotionally soul deep level.
I loved the ongoing suspense with the twists and turns once I started reading Delivered I didn’t stop until I had read every single word.
This duet was outstanding the storyline was consuming with all the suspense, secrets that were kept and some that were shared, it kept a pace throughout both books that made your mind reel at all of these insane things that were taking place that made you want to devour the pages as fast as you can because you need to know what happens. Of course, you also have Gabby and JD with their epically steamy moments and working on a second chance at love while hoping the traumas of the past aren’t going to rip them apart again
Delivered is the second book of The Devil’s Duet by Eva Charles. It is full of steamy scenes, drama-filed characters, and unexpected plot twists. There is a lot going on in this book, so you do need to read the first novel in the duet to understand a lot of the background information and for the story line to make sense.
This series isn’t what I was expecting when I read the blurb. There are lot of political aspects that make up the story, which typically isn’t my forte. Overall, I did enjoy the tense romantic dynamics between Gabrielle and Julian and the drama that surrounds their lives, it made for an interesting read.
I received an ARC of Delivered in exchange for my honest review.
This book has it all!
Julian and Gabby need to navigate through a mine field. It seems every direction they turn there are bad memories, heartbreak and devastation. This book was written exceptionally well, with so much to keep you invested in JD and Gabby. My heart broke multiple times for Gabby but thankfully JD was always there for her even as he fought through some demons from his past and his family. Eva has written this book with mystery, intrigue, smoking hot sex scenes. This book and the duet have everything you’ll need to spend some quality time inside a book.
Rating: 4.5
Q: I’m dead inside.
Not just numb.
Dead.
I can’t remember the last time I felt alive.
As sad as I am that Delivered is the conclusion to Julian and Gabrielle’s romance, it was everything I hoped for. I only recently discovered Eva Charles, my first opportunity to read her work was with Depraved. I’ve not read her other titles, but I find myself very curious about them with how taken I was by the Devil’s Duet. Delivered is the conclusion to the duet and I cannot stress how important it is to read these books in order as the plot is intricately woven and neither book would serve as a standalone.
Q: I might have gone into the dark with you, but only because I already loved it there.
The Devil’s Duet books are second chance, dark romances written in dual POV and containing elements of BDSM. Delivered picks up exactly where readers were left stunned by the epic cliffhanger from Depraved. I do not jest when I say after Delivered hit my kindle, I felt like I finally got to take my first full breath after a month! I was incredibly anxious to find out where this story was head and to further deconstruct these primary characters JD (aka Julian) and Gabrielle. These characters had complex histories both together and individually therefore, there was a lot of threads to be tied together over the course of the two books. I like most aspects of their personalities, loved how fallible the both were, and their chemistry was scorching! There is nothing hotter than an enemies-to-lovers dynamic or so I thought… until I read an enemies-to-lovers romance that included aspects of BDSM. Now that was SPECTULARLY HOT! Seriously, I often joke in my reviews that you will need to have your spouses on standby or your batteries charged, but I kid you not, you will need one or both after reading the Devil’s Duet. These characters fascinated me with both books. I think it was crucial that Eva included JD’s perspective as he is almost the complete opposite of what I expected him to be at any given point. I struggled with one aspect, and perhaps it’s just me, but the blame game was high with these characters—and even higher than I would have liked with secondary characters at one point. While that did not detract from the story, and I greatly enjoyed reading this duet, I also was slightly put off.
Q: …I already miss her so much it hurts everywhere. I’m like a wooden chair battered against the shore during a hurricane. Torn apart limb by limb. Grains of sand wearing craggy holes into the splintered surface until it’s a fragile piece of driftwood, twisted into a grotesque form. Unrecognizable.
My expectations were high for the conclusion of the Devil’s Duet and without question, Delivered was one of my most anticipated reads for March. When it hit my kindle, I was so excited that I had a gap in my review schedule and subsequently, I was able to dive right in. I read Delivered from start to finish overnight and absolutely loved it. Yet, as a reader and blogger, I was at odds with my rating for the book. As a reader, Delivered is entertaining and engaging, a rollercoaster of emotions. I was highly invested in the story and the characters added to a book that you can’t put down? All signs pointed to a five-star review, right?! Nevertheless, I’m still a blogger, and there were small things which caused me to rate Delivered with 4.5 stars instead of a full five stars. For example, as anxious as I was for the conclusion to the story—and to pick back up with the truly devastating cliffhanger from Depraved—the beginning of Delivered did not gain my attention as swiftly as Depraved had. Also, Depraved seems to be slightly faster paced, and while individually Delivered’s pace matched the ton of the book, it was marginally slower. Now that readers will have the option to read these stories back to back—as I just did—leads me to think it will create some overarching pace issues which might not have been obvious previously. While I feel most will likely be unable to distinguish these characteristics, or even care, I pride myself on honest reviews of the books I blog and therefore Delivered didn’t receive a full five-stars for me. I still found the writing to be engaging and the plot superb. In reading the Devil’s Duet, I was introduced to an author that I am highly motivated to read again, and soon! Overall, I think Eva Charles did wrote an outstanding and original story that wasn’t predicable and that readers will love it.
Quotes:
I’m going to tell her everything. Now. …because watching her like this is like being eaten from the inside out. Like something’s chomping on my organs, gnawing on my nerves, devouring the remnants of my soul. I can’t take it anymore. I can’t watch her like this. Not for another second. But I’m going to stick the knife in her back one more time before I come clean.
—
She thinks I’d use her love as a weapon against her. It shreds what’s left of my heart.
—
Oh, JD. You are so complicated, and yet so predictable. Your concern for me, your love, often emerges in twisted misshapen forms, shrouded by darkness, but there is always light at the center. It’s what has always drawn me to you. Like a moth to a flame.
—
“As sick as it is that your father watched us having sex, as much as I want to vomit thinking about it, I don’t give a damn… It’s all the rest, JD. All the rest that makes my heart ache and makes me so mad I want to take my fists to you. You think about me, even as an adult, like I’m just something you can manipulate and lie to on a whim. Like I’m not a woman who deserves your respect or who can be trusted to manage life’s problems—to handle a difficult truth. That’s where the real pain comes from.”
If you haven’t read the first book then don’t read this one. This one starts where the other ends. You have heartbreak, trust issues and the past come in this one. Both Julian and Gabrielle have things to overcome in order to find happiness in life and with each other in this book. Gabrielle is grieving and healing in this one. She finds out that people stent who they say they are and find why her bestie was against their relationship. The dark truth comes out and fuels the fire to take down the monsters. Revenge is served and justice is taken care of. Julian will do everything he can to protect his family. It has a happy ending but it takes a lot of work to get to it. Gabrielle is a fighter. She wants to believe what she knows but deep down she wonders what was true and what was a lie. She finds out so much in this book. Her and Julian have to fight for their love as well. I so enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for Simon’s book next!!
Delivered was the amazing conclusion to the Devil’s Duet. Gabby and JD continued to keep me riveted as my heart pounded, ached and then was slowly pieced back together. After the first book I had so many questions and this book tied everything together. The angst, passion, suspense, and love threaded throughout Delivered made for an emotional and wild ride. As everything gradually began to fall in place I found myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was revealed next. I loved that even though the chemistry pretty much sizzled off the pages Delivered packed an emotional punch I didn’t expect. After this captivating duet I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that there’s more to come from the rest of the Wilder family!
Please Read Depraved before reading this book! This is book two of a duet! Delivered picked up where we left off in Depraved. Eva Charles is an amazing author and this duet is beyond amazing. I am not a fan of spoilers in my reviews, so I can’t say too much about this one. BUT, please read this duet!!
This is the second book in the series and they need to be read in order.
Julian “JD” Wilder is trying to balance reclaiming the love of his life while trying to keep her safe from those who wish her harm, specifically his father. But who can JD trust when his father is the most powerful man in the US?
Gabrielle Duval knows she loves Julian but she was so hurt by him in the past that she has no idea if she can trust him anymore.
As the pieces begin to fall into place will Julian be able to protect Gabrielle and if yes is he prepared to lose everything?
This was such a great duet and it had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!!
I loved Julian and I understood more and more why he did what he did as things came out and he knew he needed to protect Gabrielle at all costs. He truly loved her with everything he was and it tore him apart that he was losing her trust after certain events.
Gabrielle was another great character who was sweet and had no idea what was going on that involved her and the danger she faced. I hated that she went to Smith but then I understood why she needed space and time to figure everything out.
I loved as things were slowly revealed and all the pieces began to fall into place. There were definitely some shocking moments!!
I was totally freaking out with Julian’s plans as I knew he thought that was the only way for it to be over.
The end was awesome and I really hope we get more with Julian’s brothers!!
What an amazing conclusion to this story!
I’ve been a fan of JD since the beginning, which isn’t always easy because of his controlling ways. He hates not getting his way but his intentions are good And his loyalty to the ones he loves is fierce. He’s dominant, sexy, and secretly sweet. It’s a combination you can’t resist.
Gabrielle can’t help but be wrapped up in Julian. He’s a hard person to say no to, but that won’t stop her from doing it, much to his dismay. She’s stubborn, headstrong, and struggling to make sense of the situation she finds herself in.
I’m quickly becoming addicted to these romantic suspense stories! So many twists and turns, so many mysteries to unravel! This epic ending had it all. I can’t wait to read the next book from this author! She’s just found herself a new fangirl.
Delivered by Eva Charles is book #2 in The Devils Duet. The story of JD Wilder and Gabrielle Duval continues on where book 1 left off and boy, it’s a doozy. Things were looking grim when the fire took place and in the aftermath in book 2, we get to get into more twists, turns, secrets, drama and learn more about things that were kept secret. We get to see a whole new side to Gabby in this book and see how far JD would go to keep Gabby safe. The emotions, the chemistry, the feels, the passion, heartbreak and the love that sizzles in this story/duet is amazing. The emotional rollercoaster ride that takes place is one you will need to hold onto your kindle because kids , it’s a doozy of a romance ride and oh yes, i loved every moment of it!!!
My Rating: 4.8 stars ******
This book delivered the goods!
This book starts right where Depraved left off, and not to give spoilers, but it was heartbreaking. We also get answers about JD’s past, why he did what he did, and they were shocking. This book had me glued to the pages to see what was going to happen next. I felt everything these characters were going through. I loved that Gabby was strong but vulnerable. JD was controlling, but I enjoyed him even more when he let himself also be vulnerable and romantic. The end delivered me from all the angst and delivered a satisfying conclusion! This duet gave me everything I love in a book – it created a world that I didn’t want to leave, a story that left me enthralled and characters that I care about. Read this duet now!
This is the second book in the Devil’s Duet by Eva Charles and I just loved it! Book 1 ends on a cliffhanger so you will want to read Depraved before Delivered or things could get confusing! In this book we get more detail about what’s going on with JD and his psycho Dad and we also get more background info on JD’s motivation. JD is fierce and protective and loves even harder! His banter between him and his best friend Smith is legendary! ( I can’t wait for Smith’s book!) This is a love story and although you may think JD is raw, rough and unable to be “saved” you won’t feel that way when you finish! I received a free copy of this book for an honest review and I would highly recommend it!
#4.5 Stars!
The duet is complete, after putting us through the wringer, this story took us for an intense, suspenseful and nail biting adventure. Delivered, the second book in The Devil’s Duet, picks up exactly where the cliffhanger left us, gasping over the events that had us guessing who made it out of the fire. With so many questions left unanswered, this story had me playing a game of whodunit, while mourning the wreckage left in its wake. There truly was a Devil in this story, and I for one was happy he was going to burn in Hell for all the pain and suffering he’d caused. I will try to be as brief as possible, this one you need to experience almost blind, and not have any surprises spoiled!
“It was all this. You trying to repair my soul.”
Gabrielle is devastated by the losses she’s suffered. The material things she lost are of no consequence, compared to the lives lost. With so many unanswered questions surrounding the fire, she needs answers. Including the truth, as painful as it is, Gabby needs to know everything. After so many years being in the dark, she deserves to know everything JD has kept hidden, trying to keep her safe.
“My father knew that nothing else, nothing would break me like watching her suffer.”
Julian is convinced, now more than ever, that DW was responsible for the fires. His father is guilty of so many crimes, if only he could prove it, without a doubt or without any more people dying. It might be harder to do, now that DW is the POTUS. But nothing is impossible, especially if you’re as determined as JD is, his father has gotten away with his crimes for far too long. He caused too much pain and suffering, and now it’s time to pay the piper. But JD needs to come clean to Gabby, confess his secrets that could destroy her and pray she’ll forgive him.
“I’m going to tell her everything. Now. …because watching her like this is like being eaten from the inside out. Like something’s chomping on my organs, gnawing on my nerves, devouring the remnants of my soul.”
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, the twists and turns it takes had me playing a continuous guessing game. And then there’s the interaction between JD and Gabby, they set the pages on fire! So many unexpected surprises in store; some good, some bad, and some shocking, so be prepared!
“I’m dead inside. Not just numb. Dead. I can’t remember the last time I felt alive.”
The edge of my seat that I was on with Depraved has finally fallen.
Julian “J.D. Wilder is upset and not sure what’s going on. He is in protector mode. Gabrielle “Gabby” Duval has had a personal tragedy at the beginning of this continuation of The Devil’s Duet. This one seemed so opposite of what we read in the first book. J.D. seemed more reserved and a little standoffish with us.
Where Depraved had more heat, this book was more emotional. But that’s not to say there isn’t any heat, you just have to be patient. It was very hard to see how happiness would ever find a place in our couple’s lives. There’s a mystery that needs solving but it became overshadowed by all the hurt and sadness. And that’s what gave me the incentive to continue because at the very least I wanted answers. At times I wanted to shake Gabrielle and say, “snap out of it!” Having never been in her position, I can’t say I understand what she’s going through but she was pulling the scenes down. I was glad to see that the author turned the mood around because that was tough getting through.
There were so many twists and turns to the story that I had no idea what was coming around the next corner. For me that’s a good thing since I really suck at solving mysteries. One thing was certain and that was my opinion of J.D.’s father. The ending was perfect for our couple especially after all that they’d been through. Even better was finding out that the author isn’t done with the Wilder family yet.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This is an amazing series! I love JD and Gabrielle! All the lies and revenge. I love that Gabby was strong and didn’t let JD by with anything. I hope we get more from the other brothers and Smith. MUST READ!

Wow! All I can say is this series is more than i ever imagined. Delivered takes you through an emotional rollercoaster ride with JD and Gabrielle. In this book we learn more about the past and why JD is how he is. Kudos to you Eva for an amazing, emotional story that will tug at your heart.
The conclusion to JD and Gabrielle’s story is finally here in Delivered by Eva Charles, the second book in The Devil’s Duet. We pick up where we left off and the ride this time around is full of secrets, twists and turns! Will JD and Gabrielle make it through all this?
JD is ready to fight for Gabrielle at all costs, but is it too late? I loved JD’s determination and cockiness. I also loved Gabrielle in this book. She was so much stronger and full of sass this time around. As the world around them begins to fall apart and secrets are revealed, we are taken on a dark journey that will captivate you.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
What can I say about this conclusion to the duet but fabulous! I was on the edge of my seat through out the whole book! I read it in one sitting as I could not put it down! So many twists and turns in this conclusion that you don’t see coming or maybe you start to figure it out but then bam it goes another way altogether!
Gabrielle and Justin are a couple that have been through so much and they just keep taking the hits but get back up time and time again. Justin has some work on his communication skills throughout the book but he does get it right eventually! Gabby also learns to open up a little more and deals with the fact that she is surrounded by people who want to protect her by not telling her things. She learns to show she wants and can handle openness and honesty from those around her.
I love the power they gain when they work together and love each other through it all. They learn that the past does not have to define their future!
What an amazing duet to experience!
Delivered (The Devil’s Duet Series) by Eva Charles begins the story where Depraved left off. Gabby’s hotel has burned to the ground. She barely made it out of there alive and her best friend is dead. Gabby has nothing left but the clothes on her back. Julian is at wits ends and has to finally let his good friend and the head of his security in on just what they up against. Gabby is having a hard time dealing with everything that has happened to her but once she learns why she was sent away, things change for her and Julian. It definitely was a tough road for them and their relationship. By the end it was well worth the trip. I like how some discovers were made but was disappointed in how some things ended. I was left with more questions than I started with and I hope they will be answered in the upcoming books even though it will not be Julian and Gabby’s story. Hoping they will make an appearance. I really liked the characters in this series and look forward to reading more about them.. 4 stars for me.
