Delivered, Book 2 of The Devil’s Duet, is not a standalone. It should be read after reading Depraved.Gabrielle Duval belongs to me. I’ve made sure of that. Now it’s time to eliminate the man who kept us apart. My father. The devil himself. His reign of terror ends here. On my terms. Those who are triggered by dark storylines, please proceed cautiously!
This author does things like no other. I have read some of her other work which left me reeling with the darkness and the characters. The first part of this book stretched me (this author stretches me every single time and I guess that’s why I keep coming back), and made me want to read the second part especially after the cliff hanger. I wasn’t sure about him but I was sure of the strength of his love and his need to protect her. As the threat grows and it’s clear the reason his father has to be dealt with when the reason for Georgie’s fear for her friend comes to light. It’s just one more reason to have him dealt with. There’s plenty of action and suspense but there’s also grief and despair that kinda drags out the story. The build up was great knowing the ending was coming just made it even more exciting and then. . . . yeah it seems the author ran out of steam. You need to judge for yourself, I just expected more of a splash for the ending than what we were given.
The Devil’s Duet Book 2
The finale of Julian & Gabrielle’s story. And what a finale it was!
The story picks up right where Depraved left us hanging!
So many things I enjoyed about this story! We get to see more of JD’s heart, we get to see the lengths and the reasons why he did what he though he had to do to protect Gabrielle. I loved the dual POV’s. I like to see into the mind and heart of both characters.
Gabrielle proves to everyone she is no shrinking violet and she demands that she becomes an equal player in both her relationship with Julian and with finding out the truth of what is really going on.
As ever, the chemistry between Gabrielle and Julian is amazingly hot.
There are parts of this story that made me weepy and parts that made me angry and then it made me feel like justice truly was served. This story and this duet will give you all the feels like a well written story should do!
I cannot wait to see what Ms. Charles comes out with next! You will get a tease of what’s to come and I am excited! You have a new fan and I will be stalking you!
A stunning conclusion to the Devil’s Duet, Delivered takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that you hope never ends.
Book 2 in the Devil’s Duet was everything I hoped it would be. Of the two stories, this was the more emotional read for me as there were some situations that were very intense and would test even the best of readers.
I fell in love with these characters in Depraved and stalked this author for book two. Her problem now is that I am so in love with other characters that she won’t get rid of me until all the stories have been told. And I am talking Gray, Chase, and my favorite Smith!
Without getting into too much of this story, I will say that JD and Gabby push each other to the very end of their ropes and it was fabulous. Explosive from beginning to end!
Reading time for Delivered was a little over 5 hours. Minus the few times I had to adult, I read this in one sitting.
Absolutely loved this book, this series and now this author! So glad I found her!
Delivered gets 5 stars from me!
Wow! This book is simply amazing!! This story is an emotional rollercoaster as we ride every high and hit the withdrawal symptoms that the characters endures. This book was heart-wrenching in its emotional angst, highs and lows of the two main characters’ struggles as they help each other try to get what they each need. This was a crushing and, at times, unhinged story that is edgy, suspenseful, and guttural with gritty real issues. DELIVERED is the second book in the Devil’s Due Series—you must read Depraved to know the dynamics of the storyline. It will be hard to put this down once you get started—an engaging story that will keep you intrigued throughout this addictive page-turner. This book was flawlessly and poignantly written about JD and Gabrielle’s love story—emotional and exhilarating—this book is best read with tissues nearby. Delivered drained every bit of moisture from my eyes, and just when I thought I had none left, tears would occur again. I fell head over heels for JD and Gabrielle, and I have no doubt you will too. JD wants revenge for what happened to Gabrielle’s hotel. How will JD prepare himself for an event that will alter his life forever? I love that Gabrielle is a strong, sassy and feisty female that is very independent. Her strength, determination, and survival are firmly encased in a story about love—love that readers will long to see flourish. JD and Gabrielle are full of surprises—I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it was jaw-dropping good! What happens next—you will be astonished! There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. Eva Charles, you delivered no holds barred romantic suspense book that grips readers to the core as you unleash an unfiltered, suspenseful, addictive, intriguing, and calculating love story. Voluntarily reviewed this book.
Oh holy hell!!! Eva Charles was devious with this book and I loved each and every word and page. Now if you are looking for a sweet easy read keep on moving because this isn’t that. Now if you are like me and you like your romances dark and gritty and your male leads to not be the hero that you normally associate with romances then one click this book today!!!
This book was heart wrenching, the characters were cruel, no good and devious. You constantly think you know how this book is all going to play out but you’d be wrong because the twists and turns in this book will leave you constantly guessing.
J.D. isn’t an easy man to fall for. He has made decisions in life to protect Gabby and although they may seem excessive with a father like his you have to go to the extreme. He will do whatever he must to keep Gabby safe and have no remorse about it.
Gabby has been through a lot and she is about to go through even more. Secrets and truths are revealed and she is about to be tested on how strong she really is. Danger is lurking around the corner and she needs to trust those around her.
This duet is addicting and it will suck you in until the last page. I couldn’t get enough. Eva Charles has become an author I will be watching out for from now on after this duet.
This is well written suspenseful and intriguing story with realistic characters. I enjoyed every minute of this engaging story.
Delivered by Eva Charles is the second and final book in her brand new Devil’s Duet. This book picks up after the devastating fire in Charleston and leaves so many questions dangling throughout. Slowly but surely the plot is wrapped up, reader questions are answered, and some really devastating truths are revealed. JD is just as controlling and possessive as he was in book one, Depraved, but there is a better understanding to his actions thanks to things revealed in this book. Gabrielle is coming to terms with her place in JD’s life and exactly what it entails but she never loses her independent and feisty streak. These books must be read in order. I would definitely like to read more in this world from some of this duets secondary characters. Loved it! Enjoy!
This book is not for the faint of heart. The plot is going to thicken , before it unravels and has you dropping your jaw with the outcome.
4.5* After reading Depraved and loving it I couldn’t wait to read this book! It leaves off right where Depraved did and I fell right back into the story like I never left.
We got to find out more about JD’s past and find out what made him the way he is now. Why he’s so controlling and ruthless at times. He will still do anything and everything to keep Gabrielle safe.
Gabrielle is a strong woman and JD is there to help her when she starts to falter. I love these two together! You can feel their chemistry but you can also feel their love.
Lots of secrets are told, there’s twists and turns that I absolutely loved!
Great duet!!
Julian and Gabby’s story concludes in ‘Delivered.’ Their story takes many twists and turns in the aftermath of a huge plot turn that concluded ‘Depraved.’
‘Delivered’ is so much more dark & delicious! The heat is turned up to scorching between Julian & Gabby as they turn to each other for comfort. There were also many funny and heartfelt moments!
Truths will come to life and much will be revealed. I love the way that Julian’s character developed into so much more!
My only compliant is the lack of answers. Nothing major, just small things. I am thinking that there may be other books in the future as the secondary characters have a lot to say (and resolve)! Gray, Chase, and Smith come to mind!
4 stars!
Oh God… This book couldn’t come fast enough. Let me just say that since The End appeared on my kindle I was so freaking mad… So mad… I wanted more and thank God it hadn’t taken that much time.
Eva Charles managed to grab my attention just by reading one book. Just one and I was a goner.
Her writing is hard, wild, intense and steamy as hell… Oh goody…
Delivered is her latest release and it’s the second book from The Devil’s Duet.
But I need to tell you something. This book is not a standalone therefore you need to read Depraved first.
Get ready to be amazed.
This book keeps telling us Gabrielle and JD’s stories.
And what a story.
If you had read the first book you know the connection these two share and even if she wants to deny it it’s hard…
And I’m not saying another word because I refuse to spoil.
And I’m stunned. I still have my head twisting… Dayum… What just happened?
This book was the perfect combination of desire, hate, love, submission…
Perfect plot, well written, engaging, dark and intense.
These two were almost able to drive me nuts. Let’s talk about two stubborn people… If one says pull the other answers push…
Secrets were everywhere and the need to know more made me keep reading it non stop. I’m stunned…
If you want a duet, filled with desire, love, loyalty as well as crime, deceive and sadness just stop by…
Eva my dear you nailed it. I’m so thankful for your words.
But being a greedy girl like I am… What’s next?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Delivered is the second book of the Devil’s Duet book. I loved reading the second part of JD and Gabrielle’s story, and any one who loves dark romances will love this series. As this is part two, Depraved must be read first, and I look forward to reading more from Eva Charles.
A satisfying end to an amazing duet. There’s an underlying sinister tone to the book that really takes it next level. No spoilers because you really just need to get the conclusion for yourself. Ready for Smith’s book!!
JD is determined to have Gabrielle as his again. Gabrielle is finding out about the past and all the evil things that can happen. JD had many other women but Gabrielle was always meant to be his. A good read and ending to the duet.
The much anticipated finale of the Devil’s Duet. It feels as if I have been waiting for this book for forever. When it’s only been a couple of months. I was excited for this book. Especially after how the first book had left us wanting more.
We pick up right where we left off in the first book. But this time the stakes are higher for Elle and Julian. Much to the dismay of some there doesn’t seem to be anything that can split them up.
As much as I loved the chemistry between Elle and Julian. I was left with more questions than answers. Without giving away anything. I would have liked to know who and why. I have to say for the authors first dip into the dark side. I thoughly enjoyed it. – By Vanessa
DELIVERED (THE Devil’s Duet Book 2)
by Eva Charles
3.5
Release Date March 21
This book picks up from where Depraved ended. I was hooked after book 1 and was looking forward to the conclusion. It was good but not what I was expecting. Where Depraved had a nice buildup to great plot points I just felt all of Book 2, Delivered was rushed.
I still enjoyed the characters of JD and Gabrielle. Their chemistry was consistent and the fire between them still burned hot.
Overall, the premise was great even though all was answered I still believe it could have been elaborated more or made more part of the storyline. But nonetheless I would still recommend this duet.
