“I’m sending you a girl.”
“What?”
“She needs sorting out. I’m talking Exit Strategy.”
Exit Strategy. That’s what we call deprogramming these days. You might call it brainwashing. It’s one of my skills. Give me a man whose idea of heaven is a suicide vest, and I can turn him into a peace loving hippy wannabe.
“She’s a white widow?”
“No. Human trafficking victim turned sex slave and mule. She’s a … a mess.”
Christ, poor little bint. Now I knew why Suarez was calling me.
Colonel Rory “Mac” Mackenzie, covert operations expert, is all set for an undercover job when an old friend lands him with Pepper, a human trafficking victim of a Moroccan-Turkish crime syndicate. Unable to turn her away, Mac now has two missions: to infiltrate a terrorist training camp in the Sahara and to become a Master for Pepper.
Warning: contains graphic violence and sex. Complete and stand alone novel.

I am having such a great time with all those beauties AJ Adams released on iTunes!
https://books.apple.com/nl/book/deliverance/id1547150076
You can imagine how happy i was when i got Deliverance all polished up and shining brightly as ARC!
Because i loved it the first time, and i enjoyed revisiting Pepper and Mac just as much this time.
A word of warning, though….Pepper has been through A LOT!
And her story is filled with triggers…..
Pepper has had a rough life. She doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t a slave.
And she’s mostly been with “Masters” that were evil….and enjoyed it!
Leaving her with scars on the inside as well as on her body.
The fact she isn’t stark raving mad,is only because of her fellow slave,Chloe.
They spent time together when Chloe had to teach Pepper to carry drugs from one place to the other without panicking.
Returning to London after a job turned bad has Pepper in fear of a bashing by her “Master”,but her handler leaves her with a man that seems…..kind?
Conditioning is stubborn though, and it takes her a while to not shrink in fear when her new Master gets angry at hearing her story.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Mac when his friend Suarez asks for a favor.
He is set to leave for an undercover job in the Sahara in six weeks.
And the last time he tried to save a girl,it didn’t end well.
He is determined to make sure this girl will be left in capable hands, though.
But the possibilities shrink to none, and by that time he feels a connection to her.
More than that,to be honest, and his intentions shift towards keeping her safe himself.
He decides to spend his time waiting by getting Pepper in shape.
And encouraging her to show more of herself to him without fear of retribution.
She turns out to be a delightful package with a sharp mind and a good sense of humor, and they get along smashing.
By the time they arrive in the Sahara,Mac has a new recruit called Pepper.
And she is ready to do everything the men in the trainingcamp need to do to get into shape…..
Can they do what Mac was hired to do without getting caught?
Can they cause friction between the different factions, and at the same time get all the intel London needs?
And with that much testosterone in the training camp, can Mac keep his precious Pepper safe from harm?
This was a story about healing and building trust for both.
And confidence in one’s own strenght….
This was also a story about how to defeat your enemy from within.
About being smarter and more cunning.
Mac and Pepper delivered,in all areas.
And i enjoyed their story, very much!
What a story! Once again A. J. Adams has created characters that are not necessarily living good lives but they are people you hope will end up having a good life together. Mac is ex-SAS who has deprogrammed people in the past; Pepper is a woman who became a sex slave as a child and is in great need of deprogramming. Both Mac and Pepper are on the verge of becoming overwhelmed by their lives and both are also in need of something they have not yet found. This is a story that is difficult to describe. In the story both Mac and Pepper grow and become more through the time together they spend together. This book has sex, violence and adventure and is not one for readers who want a sugary sweet romance. It will make you think and care and hope for the best right up till the last page. I kind of wonder what Mac and Pepper might get up to if a series of books were written about them.
