I’m the kid your parents warned you about… Eighteen months in prison or doing time at Oceanside Academy.Reform school has met its match in me, even if it is full of young offenders. Thieves, graffiti writers, drug runners and other petty criminals reside within the walls, and I’m just like them. But what they didn’t tell me was that I’d be one of only a handful of girls in a hoard full of boys. … in a hoard full of boys. It’ll take more than just street smarts to keep my wits about me.
Everyone here has a chip on their shoulders, and I’m no different. Mine’s one of the biggest, that’s why they call me Asia because I have one as large as a continent.
Rules or not, these bad boys are about to discover I’ve earned my label for reason…
I’m the biggest misfit of them all.
Delinquent is book one of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy trilogy for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. Contains foul language and sexual scenes. Ends on a cliffhanger

I loved this book! Asia’s had a hard life and only trusts few people, and fights for what she believes in. The court forcing her to Oceanside could just be what saves her life or breaks her. So many bullies and a few that want to claim her for their own…I love Ford, Sonny and yes even Camden, and of course Eastern! Monk needed his a$$ kicked! I love this filthy, dirty gang world!
This was sooo good! This was a book that I can´t stop reading. Loved every page! And I need to start reading the next book! Asia is a strong FMC and the build up to the next book was great!
5 stars for Delinquent by Bea Paige. This is book one in the Academy of Misfits series. “I started my life fighting to live, and I’ve spent every day since doing the same damn thing…..fighting to survive.” Asia has had a rough life. She is tough, got an attitude, she is bad, but there are times when you get to see her heart. She is sent to an academy after getting in trouble. It is filled with a bunch of teenage inmates, or misfits I would say. This is a dark reverse harem book. All the characters have walls built up to protect themselves. Two gangs seem to rule the school, but Asia follows her own rules. Eastern is her best friend, who was becoming more. Sonny is the playful one who seems to have her back. Ford is filled with controlled violence but seems to help Asia. Camden is a real mystery, no one knows what to expect from him. I can not wait to see what is to come from this group.
I enjoyed this story and it’s characters. I was intrigued with the idea of an academy being a reform school. Everyone is on different sides but which is the right side? I’m excited to see where this story goes.
What an epic read, For 75% of the book I was in absolute awe of such fabulous story telling, and the fact that it was set in the smoke, the dirty gritty harsh life of a London kid. Asia is one hell of a character she has more balls than yer average Joe that much is true, After been born to a heroine addict mother and been a baby addict as well, life was never going to be a bed of roses, been dragged up under the sky rises and living a life of neglect and always having to sleep with one eye open, isn’t just a story for books but the harsh reality of a lot of inner city kids, After been saved fro a stint in juvie she gets sent to Oceanside Academy the last chance saloon, life doesn’t get any better it gets worse, so much worse. Fights bullies, gangs, drugs abuse all these mini adults who have had a life most of us will never ever experience. Trapped in this place and just like the outside this place ha sit’s ring leaders and their minions, Monk all though he was an out and out horror for most of the book I actually think their is more to him. Camden is one seriously mixed up young man, I loved Ford and Sonny. For me the author has given us a great representation of the kids of this country of the lives of the poor and neglected, trying to forge a life through trials so much pain and sorrow, the random drugs available just the singularly fight to stay alive. Now why 4 stars when it really deserves 5 is the RH( reverse harem) side of it, I know I have to suspend believe when I read a book and I am well prepared to do that, however in this case it truly does’t fit, in this country it would never ever happen and the ages of these kids who don’t even understand love just doesn’t make sense. I can not see Asia been apart of this triangle. Yes she is starved of love and affection, it still wouldn’t make her be part of a RH, for me this spoilt the book and at the 75% mark I nearly put it down, however I persevered and I am glad I did, the last few chapters were quite nail biting stuff. A bit unbelievable at the same time. I have already purchased it because I need to know what happens to Eastern and Asia and the gang, I also feel she has a snake in her camp and it’s female. Need to know if I AM RIGHT. i JUST DO NOT LIKE THE RH side of it, in my honest opinion this book did not need it.
This was a freaking amazingly realistic and gritty start to a new series! Asia is sent off to Oceanside Acdemy, a reform school, which is also her last chance to change her ways before she’s sent to jail. Honestly, she only takes this option over jail because she’s worried for her brothers who live with a foster family and still wants to be in their lives. Oceanside Academy isn’t what she thought it would be, especially not the person running it. Asia has the badass and strong survivor personality that I think deep down everyone wants. She isn’t afraid to fight for what she believes in, doesn’t back down, tells it how it is, and loves fiercely for those who she deems worthy. Her interactions with each of her guys are so different, but the attraction is definitely there even if she doesn’t want it to be. I’m not sure how I feel about Eastern, her best friend, since he broke her trust and kept so many secrets. Camden is the leader of the Hackney Hackers, one of the gangs, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about him except that he’s tough and sinful. Ford is the leader of the No Names, the rival gang, and he’s protective, serious, and the only one who’s ever challenged Camden and won. Sonny is wreckless, emotional, and playful and I fell for his character from the moment he was introduced! The secondary characters are well developed and their roles are realistic even if you want to hurt them for hurting Asia. I have a love-hate relationship with every single character, but I think Pink and Sonny are my absolute favorites besides Asia. I’ve read plenty of reverse harem and a handful of contemporary romance books, but I’ve never read anything like this before. I love what Bea has created- it’s angsty, raw, and has such a “bad boy, bad girl” vibe!

First, let me tell you this is an RH novel with a cliffhanger. This is one of those reads that goes quickly because you want to see what happens next and then you devour it. If you want an RH, Bully Romance that isn’t your typical girl goes to school and the rich kids pick on her, then this will check your boxes. It is original in that the heroine goes to a reform school and all the antics and drama that ensue when she arrives. I really enjoyed this book and will be glad when I can read Book 2. 4 Fantastic Stars!
Compelling, Raw & Gritty! This book is a breath of fresh air! I loved the descriptive writing and the realistic characters. I was engaged into the story from the very first page and loved it. I cannot wait for the next installment. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I am now definitely a big fan!
I first found this author reading her “finding there Muse” series and loved it! This is a younger age group of characters but Bea does an awesome job with the characters and story line. It kept me interested to keep reading until the last page and does leave on a cliffhanger but also just makes me want to read the next book more.
I liked the female protagonist and liked that she wasn’t victim the story took a while to pick up Reverse Harem is my favorite romance but I didn’t enjoy this one. I may stick to the standalone bc series bore me when they don’t go anywhere
I have been eagerly anticipating this book since the characters were teased in Symphony and it more than lived up to my hopes and expectations.
Delinquent is a gritty, dark, academy, bully romance. (Did I throw enough at you there?) Really there are so many tropes that can be covered here as there are quite a few relationships that develop in this book.
You know that mistake you often make? The one where you open a book late at night and think — it’s ok, I’ll only read a chapter or two. And then you get sucked into a world that you just don’t want to leave. Yeah that was me here! I opened it just to start and the next thing I knew the book was over and I was craving the next book. I want to know everything possible about these captivating characters. I NEED to know what happens next.
Oceanside is an Academy of Misfits. (see what I did there? ) One last chance instead of prison. A place for kids who most of society has already given up on. These are kids who have lived on the streets, kids who have had to fight to stay alive. So naturally not everyone gets along at all. The kids here are T.O.U.G.H.
But don’t underestimate our heroine, Asia. This is one scrappy, strong woman. She can more than hold her own. I loved that we got to see her tough as nails side and also see the soft interior she hides underneath. Watching her start to make female friends for the first time made me so happy. I can’t wait to see more of Pink and Kate.
And OMG the boys. Can we take a minute to appreciate the HAF boys that come into Asia’s life — Eastern, Sonny, Ford & Camden. No wonder this is #whychoose — each boy has something about him that makes me want to swoop in and give him a great big hug. None of these guys have had an easy life. And I am rooting and rooting for them to make a better life for themselves.
Delinquent is a gritty, raw tale of survival — teens caught up in a cutthroat world finding whatever way they can to make it day to day. This book wrenched my heart wide open. I want to be able to save everyone!
I can’t wait to see where Bea Paige takes this tale!
Empty promises, untrue tales, and she begins to question what she thought she knew.
Caught on the wrong side of the law, a new path is presented to her.
A target upon her back, isnt a good start down this road she must travel but alas her head is high, and her will is strong.
Who can she trust, as everyone has an agenda ….
I want to sing, I want to dance, I want to scream for screamings sake and I want to kiss my kindle, and why… because I’ve found “My book”.
Everyone has that one book they have longed to read, an idea in their head of a story you want and need, and this.. THIS is mine!!
I’ve craved a story like this for so long, and now its here I’m like a child on Christmas eve!
It’s so completely and utterly perfect! I could cry simply because I’ve finished it, and that’s not at all me!
Asia is a unique no nonsense, tough street kid, who’s both fearless and fierce. Trust issues galore but so loyal to those she loves. Shes everything I wanted in a female character.
The boys oh gosh! what an utter delight they are! sunshine and storms, Intense and controlling. I wanted all three!
Each has a story to tell, and my heart splintered when it was their time to shine.
Beauty and violence, passion and drama all woven together to create a read that’s fiery and heated.
I cant wait to get my hands on the second book. I know it’s going to be a catastrophic read but still I NEED IT!
I’m going to be honest with you, I fell in love with this character on page two. She tugged on my heart from moment one and I couldn’t let her go. I still can’t. This is absolutely brilliant and I highly recommend it. Five Stars. Six Stars. Ten Stars. One of the best romances ever.
I loved how different this story was compared to Bea Paige’s other books. I think she is really coming into her own and I love everything she is putting out. I cannot wait to see what she does with this series. I felt so many emotions while reading this book, almost as many as I did in her Finding Their Muse series. I think this will hit a lot of boxes for readers and I cannot wait to see their reactions .
So let’s get this started off by mentioning Bea Paige has some hilarious one-liners. We have seen her do dark and emotional, but this is the first book that showed her humor. I was shocked by them and almost lost it at work while reading some chapters haha. I won’t give them away, but you have been warned: don’t drink near your electronics while reading haha.
I also really loved the grittiness these characters and storyline exuded. There are some tough scenes, some that made it hard to read through because the bullying by others not in the harem was extreme. I thought Bea did a brilliant job adding that element to the story. Asia is not someone to be trifled with and it finally blows up with an impressive confrontation and follow-up that is AMAZING. I was happy to seen Asia start to bring her walls down a little with different characters in this world of Oceanside. She had a rough childhood, most of the kids at this reform school do. She doesn’t trust anyone but her best friend and his family. Over the term, she lets a couple more people into her world and I am NEED MORE!
I also want to point out how much I love these guys and girl friends in this book. Sonny is my fav. I love how he does his best to make people laugh, and with the stuff these kids are dealing with, it brings out the light in a time of darkness. I love laughing and smiling and he would definitely be my big crush. Ford is so incredibly hot, its not even funny. The scene in the gym . He also is super observant and is a marshmallow inside and really tries to be there for Asia. Eastern has a lot to make up for, but the best friend turned boyfriend is one of my favorite tropes. I feel for Camden, but I don’t like him yet. He had glimpses of good and tried to make up for things he did or others from his crew did, but he has a ways to go. Some of the other side characters are fantastic. I loved Pink and Kate (I hope we get more of them in book 2, I loved the dysfunction of the 3 girls meshing so well together!). I want Mr Carmichael and Burnside to get a novella themselves. And Monk, Red, and Bram…I think they will come back with a vengeance. I think they were amazing villains to this story. I usually don’t condone violence, but I hope they get what they deserve.
I am a little worried how book 2 is going to go with the way Bea ended it! The big bad guy will not go down easily and I think Camden is going to cause more tension, some in a good way haha. I think its going to make Asia and the guys relationship go 2 steps back after making some great progress in book 1. We will have to wait and see. Book 2 is going to be one of my highly anticipated fall books
Oh and I learned a lot of Brit slang while reading Delinquent haha. I loved how true to character Bea kept this story. It definitely was realistic, the feelings true in this day and age. The relationships and interactions made it feel like I knew these characters, like they were friends from across the pond.
