At eighteen-years-old, I made a promise with my best friend in high school. If neither one of us were married by age thirty-two, we would marry each other. Now Miles Warner is back in town and wants to cash in on that promise we made all those years ago. The fact that Miles is still unmarried and single baffles me. The young man I remembered from high school has grown into one of the most … most handsome men I’ve ever laid eyes on. And he refuses to take no for an answer. You see, he needs a bride, and I’m his last resort. Romantic, isn’t it?
Well, no thank you. That is not going to happen.
At least that’s what I keep telling myself. But as the days pass by and Miles settles back into life in our hometown, I find myself falling head over heels in love with him. Again.
What is the lesson I’ve learned, you ask?
Nevermake a promise you don’t intend to keep.

Five “I couldn’t put it down” Stars!!
I’ve been reading Kelly Elliott books for about 5 or 6 years now and always thought that Wanted would be my favorite of hers because it was the first book I read of hers. Well let’s just say that Delicate Promises is now my favorite of hers. By far! I mean I felt every single emotion go through me while reading this book. I cried, I swooned and more importantly I feel in love with these two characters.

*I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opinions are those of my own.*
I am loving this New Series of Southern Brides. In this book I so LAUGHED out LOUD but Miles has a habit to stick his foot in his mouth one to many times when it comes to kynslee. These two have been life long friends but with out realizing their relationship was changing. One promise held a hell of a meaning and after 12 years could it be that simply that the love for each other that they really never proclaimed could be just as strong now or has it been to many years apart for them to find their Happy Ever After Together.
OK, all I have to say is #LongLiveRowdy. How Kelly is freakin hilarious is beyond me. What author can make a grown Marine man run and scream like a girl over a rooster is brilliantly funny? I could not put this book down. Amazing characters. There were times you just want to reach in and smack the H upside the head. A defiant must read
Great Read!
Kysnlee and Miles have been best friends all their lives. They supported each other through tragic events at a young age and vowed to be there for each other. Before Miles heads off to the marines, they make a promise, to marry each other if neither is married by 30.
Miles shows up at the planned time to “cash in” on their promise. Kynlsee is not having it. She may love Miles with all her heart, but she wants something real. Miles has to prove to her that he doesn’t just want to marry her because of a promise but because she is the love of his life.
We learn that the last 12 years have not been easy on either of them. Not seeing each other often, trying to develop a relationship when Miles always has to leave. Kynslee tries to move on but had given her heart to Miles years ago.
Having their journey grow throughout the novel was bittersweet. Sometimes I wanted to hit Miles over the head, but it all came together in the perfect way.
Rowdy = LOL!
Can’t wait for the next novel!
it was amazing
Kelly really stepped out of her box with this book….The Southern Brides is quickly becoming another favorite for me.
Miles and Kynslee have known each other for forever. BUT Miles does something that truly breaks Kynslee’s heart and he doesn’t just do it once..
The man has been gone from their hometown of Hunt Texas for a very long time. Now he’s back and he wants the woman he loves. But he just goes about in all the wrong ways.
This book is going to make you angry, make you laugh and at points make you really angry….But it is all perfectly Kelly

Delicate Promises is another great read from Kelly Elliott. I thought this was a great addition to this series.
We meet new characters in this book so it is a complete standalone novel. You do NOT have to read any other book to enjoy this book.
Just like book 1, this is an emotional, angsty and heartwarming friends to lovers story. Some would say this is also a second chance romance. Miles and Kynslee’s story had it’s ups and downs but I couldn’t help but root for their HEA. I will say my only negative to this story was how frustrating the characters could get at times. I wanted to smack both of them at some point in the book. They truly had some serious communication issues. But I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is the second book in Kelly Elliott’s Southern Bride series. All the books in this series are complete standalone novels. This story is told in dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. As with every Kelly Elliott book, my emotions were all over the place while reading this story. I swooned, laughed, yelled and fell in love. Everything I have come to expect when reading a book by this author.
In this book we follow Miles and Kynslee. These two have been best friends since they were kids. Over time they have crossed the line of friends into something more, but hold back their real feelings for each other. So when Miles enlists into the Marines, Kynslee is heart broken. Now years later Miles is back and out of the Marines and determined to get Kynslee back. Will Kynslee forgive Miles for the past?? Can these two work things out and get their HEA?? What happens when Miles past comes back to haunt him?? Read this book to find out the answers to these and many more questions.
I would recommend this book to all fans of a friends to lovers story or even a second chance romance lover. If you are already a fan of Kelly’s books, then you MUST read this book. I look forward to the other books in this series.
