Holy cow. I kid you not, I read the first paragraph of this book several times. I could not believe what I was reading. What??? How???
Deleted is the perfect sequel to Traded. All of the characters we love are back, with the added bonus of a new one! This book is a real page turner. I can’t wait to read the third in the series!
Deleted:Jackson and Maggie’s story is about love torn apart and thought it was lost forever. Jackson gave Maggie an ultimatum either him or her dream, Maggie chose her dream. In a cruel twist Jackson and the whole town were told Maggie was dead.
Twelve years later Maggie comes back to face her past and shocks everyone.
Can Jackson and Maggie let the past go and make it this time?
This is another great installment to the Cliffside Bay Series by Tess Thompson that I believe you will completely enjoy. I couldn’t put it down!
So let me just start by saying that this was my first experience of the very talented Tess Thompson. And I really have to say Deleted: Jackson and Maggie, though of a much cleaner read than what I am usually used to, still managed to reel me in and keep my attention throughout this magnificently.
This was such a sweet second-chance story that totally relied on its spoken narrative to hook in and enthral its spectators.
This book had so much more going on, and also to give than just the actual relationship between Jackson and Maggie.
As lovely as that reconnected feeling was, Deleted also Managed to intertwine a much deeper story throughout the pages.
Combining toxic family dynamics alongside friendship, loyalty and trust all set against a stunning small town backdrop.
Such a winning combination here.
A definite recipe for success.
So, I really enjoyed getting to know all the many varied individuals portrayed here and though there are definitely some overused cliches in this storyline, I still very much enjoyed Jackson’s and Maggie’s complicated journey to there own personal HEA.
So yes technically this could be read as a standalone, but personally having read it that way myself I really think you would get much more out of this if you read the first book in the series too.
It would just help contribute in my opinion to the overall understanding of dynamics between certain characters involved here.
I also really liked the way this author has taken the time to set things up here for future story growth, And I’m guessing Zane and Honor are next.
So, This was told in dual POV my favourite and both Jackson and Maggie/Bird are such relatable and likeable people.
And I have to say, for such a charmingly clean romance this still surprisingly satisfied my sweet-tooth.
I do typically like my men a whole lot darker and my romance just more alpha arse-wholery but this, well it made my cheeks hurt smiling.
I didn’t care about the cheese or the cliches when my heart was going pitter-patter.
Deleted was just so AW in nature.
If you like a more romantic gentle romance then this is the one for you.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Deleted: Jackson and Maggie (Cliffside Bay series #2)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This is a great second chance at love romance read. It is book 2 of the Cliffside bay Series and tells Jackson and Maggie’s love story with a twist and will leave you with a feeling of completeness. It was a little slow difficult to get into at the beginning but was better as you went along. I am looking to more from Tess and this series.
Few authors can consistently put out excellent books. Tess Thompson is one of those few. Deleted, the second in the Cliffside Bay series, pulls you into the lives of Maggie and Jackson. There’s a few very unexpected twists in this book which keeps you guessing what comes next. I highly suggest reading the first of the series, Traded, so you don’t miss any of this extended family’s story.
Beautifully written … the story just flows like life in real time. One doesn’t want to put it down. Some just awful things happen but the writing style is so beautiful that there is no negative impact sensation … it’s just a lovely, feel good story and book. Loved it.
I really enjoy Tess Thompson’s books, and this one if by far and away my new favorite. Chapter 1 opens with Maggie turning thirty and learning she’s been dead for 12 years. And things only get crazier from there. I’d rate this box 5 Kleenexes instead of 5 stars. (Pro tip: you will need them.)
Maggie is very much a Tess Thompson heroine, smart, sassy, and imperfect. The book opens with Maggie at a crossroads in her life which is deeply ironic since she’s supposedly dead – except nobody told her.
This book is complex, and very real. The scene that hit home for me was in a nursing home with a dementia patient. As the daughter of a dementia patient I suddenly wondered if she’d had a camera nearby during my conversations with dad. She gets it right, with those incredibly well thought out details.
This is a story of true love that survives the test of time. It’s woven in a complex story of long-term friends with a theme of enduring love, friendship, and family. But it’s not an ideal world, and some of the ordeals the characters have survived will resonate for some readers.
This is the ultimate second chances book. Multiple characters have the chance to live their dreams they thought wouldn’t happen, Darla, Zane, Jackson, Maggie (at least 3 times over)! If you like second chance romances this is the book for you. I loved learning a bit more about Jackson who was first introduced in Brody and Kara’s book, Traded. We get to learn about what truly happened with Maggie who was mentioned multiple times in Traded. Then we see what happens when Jackson and Maggie learn the truth and when Maggie confronts her father and Darla, her father’s wife. I can’t wait to read about the other Dogs, Zane, Kyle, and Lance and keep up with the other residents of Cliffside Bay!

“Maggie Keene turned thirty the week she learned she’d been dead for twelve years.”
So starts Tess Thompson’s Deleted, the second book in her Cliffside Bay Series. That first line teases an intriguing story line, and the author comes through, delivering an intricate and beautifully written novel for her readers.
This book touched me on a more personal level than some of Ms. Thompson’s other novels. It was made up of all the lovely things that this author’s fans have come to expect from her―a stunning locale, rich, real characters, and a gripping story―but this one was a bit extra for me. Maggie touched me deeply with her history of abuse, and later when her life makes an unexpected turn and she feels a great sense of abandonment by those whom she loves the most. Maggie’s path was an emotional one, and it was written so very well.
I am a fan of Tess Thompson’s River Valley Series and am happy to say that she absolutely shines with the first two novels in her new Cliffside Bay Series as well. She has proven once again that this author never fails to impress.
Deleted was an interesting book. I’ve never read a book where the heroine was assumed dead but wasn’t so when I read the blurb I wanted to know more. I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t to over the top. It flowed easy and kept me intrigued. Jackson was also a great character to read about. Yeah, he may not have been the smartest when it came to Sharon but he was an upstanding character and was willing to own up to his mistakes. His heart and brain knew what he wanted all along. I felt so bad for Maggie. First for having to suffer for the past 12 years (even though she could have done things to fix the issue I also understood where her head was after her hard past) and then for having to deal with everything that he had to once she came back. I’m glad that everyone welcomed her with open arms. She didn’t deserve anything less than happiness. It was great getting a glimpse of the rest of the DOGS and their friends. Hopefully Zane’s book will be next. I’d love to see him happy (especially after a few of his revelations in this book!).
In Cliffside Bay love runs as deeply as the secrets it’s scenery hides. Thompson prides herself on making every tale a compelling canvas of emotion. Deleted is no exception. From young love to tragedy, Jackson and Maggie grab hold of a heart and wring out every memory, teardrop and hope encased within. What began in heartache went on to become an inspirational journey of second chances, survival and everlasting love. There is no escaping destiny and like Jackson and Maggie, Deleted has classic written all over it.
Tess Thompson just keeps getting better and better.
This is a beautiful book about second chances at love. But more than a love story, it’s a story friendships and relationships. But to add to that it also deals with real life issues of abuse.
This book made me laugh and cry, and I also couldn’t put it down. It was a very late night when I finished it.
I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, and this one hasn’t even been released yet.
