Deleted: Jackson and Maggie is the second standalone book in the sweet Cliffside Bay romance series. If you like stories of starting over, small-town settings, and jaw-dropping twists, then you’ll adore Tess Thompson’s scandal-filled tale.

Wow is really the only thing to say. I am so shocked on these two wonderful people.
First I am shocked how different all the dogs are. Second i am shocked kyle is a man ho. Lol
I am glad violet is strong and a great mom.
It is sad how kyle became a dad. Idk how i would handle that. It is fantastic that violet and Kyle could come together and protect and care for these wonderful kids. I can not believe people can make up lives and feelings in their heads and think its okay to destroy someone else’s lives and call it love.
Jackson Waller fell in love with Maggie Keene when he was only six years old after defending her on the playground. They became sweethearts and had a life all planned out . . .until their own dreams tore them apart. Jackson wanted to be a doctor and take over his father’s practice and Maggie wanted to be on Broadway. Breaking up is always rough, but when Maggie is killed in a car accident on her way to New York City, Jackson’s heart is broken in ways that make recovery impossible.
When Maggie Keene left Cliffside Bay on her way to make her dreams come true in NYC, she left with a broken heart. She’s spent the last twelve years trying to make it big, but only achieving moderate success. She has not been home for twelve years, because no one from her hometown has contacted her and all of the letters she wrote to her friends were returned unopened. When she gets a call that her estranged father is dying, she decides to go home, only to discover that nothing is what she thought and the towbhas thought she died twelve years ago.
Jackson and Maggie have a second chance at happiness if they are brave enough to take it. Can they fall back into the relationship they had as highschool sweethearts or have they grown to far apart in the last twelve years? While exploring a new chance at happiness, Maggie is also left unwinding the mystery of just why her father lied to the town about her death and about the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of her mother and infant sister almost 2 decades ago.
Tess Thompson crafted a truly compelling tale with Jackson and Maggie’s story. I could not put it down and gladly gave up a night of sleep to finish this book in virtually one sitting.
Jackson and Maggie were childhood best friends turned sweethearts. After her mother dies, Maggie spent more time with Jackson’s family than her own. They were more than close which is why breaking up was tragic in itself. Jackson is left completely bereft and adrift when he learns Maggie has died. He throws himself into his career and his friends, but he isn’t really living. He can’t move on without her. Maggie is completely devastated when she believes her hometown sides with Jackson after their break-up and deletes her from their lives. She throws everything she has into being a success, but a career ending injury has her rethinking everything . . . even before she gets the call about her father’s impending death. Finding her tombstone is completely surreal and old secrets and hurts are brought back to the forefront in the small town of Cliffside Bay. Seeing Jackson and Maggie reunite is beautiful and bittersweet since so much time has been lost and so much is still unknown in Maggie’s past.
The love and sweetness in this book is breathtaking! (Let’s just say that Jackson pulls off a completely stunning event towards the end of this book with a little help from his friends) Add in a fantastic mystery regarding the death of Maggie’s mother and disappearance of her infant sister’s body so many years ago and readers are left turning page after page to see what could possibly be coming next! I also loved catching back up with the rest of the Cliffside Bay crew. 5 stars for Deleted. Don’t let Jackson and Maggie’s story pass you by!
Original concept wrapped in a bit of mystery with a lot of heart. Would have liked little more insight into their reconnecting, seemed rushed.
This second book of the Cliffside Bay series is all about Jackson and Maggie. They are epic, their story is epic. They have been through, in thirty years, more than most people will go through their entire lives.
Jackson and Maggie met when they were six years old. A bully in the schoolyard pushed Maggie down into the mud, Jackson beat the snot out of him, helped Maggie up, walked her home from school, met her the next morning to walk her to school, and they were inseparable ever since. Until they were eighteen years old. Jackson was going away to college at USC to become a doctor and eventually take over his dad’s medical practice in Cliffside Bay. Maggie had won a scholarship to NYC to study dance and theatre. Jackson wanted her to stay and go to school with him at USC. He asked her to give up her dream. She followed her dream. She was killed in a car wreck in Kansas on her way to NYC. Jackson’s heart was forever broken and guilt became his constant companion.
Twelve years later, Jackson realizes it’s finally time to move on. He’s about to propose to his girlfriend (which none of the Dogs really approve of). Suddenly, Jackson is seeing Maggie everywhere. What is going on? Maggie has just gotten news that her father is terminally ill and wants to see her. She’s headed to Cliffside Bay. The first stop she makes is at the bench that she and Jackson spent so many hours on. Then she heads to the cemetery to “talk” to her mom. That’s when she finds out that she died…twelve years ago….What is going on?
This story has pretty much everything. Jackson and Maggie are not perfect, but they are perfect for one another. There is a lot they need to get through but they know they can. They are Maggie and Jackson, they are Us. I really enjoyed their story!
Deleted, Tess Thompson’s story of Jackson and Maggie, continues the stories of the people of Cliffside Bay. Maggie, a dancer and singer, comes back to Cliffside Bay to ask her estranged father a question, but what she finds is so much more than the answer to the question. Jackson, Maggie’s high school love and the local doctor, is shocked when Maggie returns to town. A lovely well-written story with twists and turns, you will find yourself believing in second chances and redemption.
Awesome book
I did a lot of skimming. Relentlessly depressing at the beginning, smarmy and saccharin the second half, too many partially developed characters to keep track of (obviously setting the stage for further novels) and just generally disappointing. I struggled to finish.
Full of emotion. Very good story.
Deleted from All Their Lives …. outstanding, couldn’t put it down
How can I do this book justice? It’s hard to put in words just how good a storyline this is. It draws you into the tension, the emotion, the drama, the despair, the agony, and yes, the joy….
We read about betrayal of the worst kind, it’s like we are there experiencing the horrendous things Maggie’s dad put her through. Then we feel her pain as she felt her protectors abandoning and rejecting her. We get to see her strength. We see how she won’t give up, how she faces real fear and gains victory.
You see, Maggie literally was deleted … deleted out of everyone’s lives as she does her best to make a new life for herself. We see how she comes face to face with her past in the most shocking way.
Then, we get to see how all those people in her past deal with her return and realize they too, were betrayed.
OBSERVATIONS:
Read this when you have time to just read and not be bothered with everyday busywork. It’s a page turner for sure. I found myself neglecting some work because I didn’t want to put this book down.
A LOT of real life issues are covered here, but they all connect smoothly.
I did get confused at times with all the characters…. why did Kara have no family and need privacy? Did I miss that in the book? Also, who was Dax and his new wife? Yes, I know they were high school sweethearts but how were they connected to the others here? Little things like that I seemed to forget and thus was confused.
It got somewhat longwinded at times but it didn’t ruin the book…. just skim over those parts if you want too. It’s easy to keep up with the main plot.
Looking forward to reading more of this series. Since this was the first book, I’m thinking we got to meet the characters in future books.
This is a great summer beach read!
It is wonderful to see how the hurts of the past and the meddling of others can be resolved. Love the characters. I think this was first in series. I’ve read the 1st 4 of them and look forward to reading more.
Beautiful
Maggie didn’t have a whole lot when she was younger but the love of her mother, her friends, people from the town & Jackson. Then she went to NYC for college & career. Jackson ended up going to college & made friends with the Dogs, but he thought he lost Maggie to death. Not did everyone get a shock when she came when got the call. But there is so much more.
Jackson and Maggie fell in love at the age of six. At the age of ten, Maggie went to live with Jackson’s family. After graduating from high school, their dreams took them to opposite coasts. And then Maggie died…except no one told Maggie. The impending death of her father, Maggie goes back home to find out the truth of her mother’s death.
DELETED is filled with mystery. It is a fun, interesting read.
Absolutely fantastic 2nd book in the Cliffside Bay series! I loved Maggie and Jackson’s story! I was taken surprise many times with all they had to overcome to be together! This is a definite must read! I’m totally in love with this series! Can’t wait for more! Highly recommend!
Very good book about friends in a small town,
Tragedies, happiness, broken hearts;
but true friends finding love.
Good story
LOVED this book. Great characters and interesting plot. Highly recommend.
It was a novella with very little in it except gratuitous sex in a restaurant walk-in refrigerator.
I loved it
Rather unique story line, not the often over used premises. Story progressed well.
