After the last book I was so scared to read this one, seriously! Juliette and Warner had gone through such a mess in the first three books, and then the last book was like, nooooooooooo! And then this, tear my freaking heart apart with the back flash scenes, already. I was balling like a baby!
I loved Juliette in this, loved Warner in this, really loved Kenji in this! Those are my three little children! Nazeera was awesome too, and her character ARC really opened up and shined here!
There are a lot of twists here, a lot of shocking moments, a lot of me with heart eyes and teary eyes and all kinds of emotional eyes! And that freaking ending was perfect, which only makes me scared for this last book! But I need it now!!!!!
Addictive, intense, and oozing with romance. I’m envious. I couldn’t put it down.
Once again, after the previous book in the series ended on a painfully (but brilliant) dramatic note, I absolutely needed book 5 right away.
This one dedicates a lot of time to showing the reader some past events; it also, despite depicting such dark times, manages to show love, loyalty and friendship and again I’m struck by the beauty of Mafi’s writing style.
Warning: absolutely nothing is resolved in this installment. It’s an important read for the series, giving more backstory and for relationship development but just as things felt like they might be getting started, the books was over. Onto book 6 !
4 stars.
Note:
I listened to the audiobook; this was performed by multiple narrators in order to more clearly depict the multiple POVs and it’s perfectly executed. 5-star performance. Definitely will seek more Harper Audio productions.
This is by far the best book I’ve read in this amazing series that the author has blessed us with!!!!!! I am so relieved that it did not end in a cliffhanger and am very excited for the last book to be released. Definitely a 5 star read from me.
This book was very unique and interesting in its own way and the main reason that it distinguishes with the other books is that we get a lot of flashbacks that is set in the past, which I found very interesting and heartbreaking at the same time.
We also got a new perspective in this book, which makes it extra special to me. The first perspective is Juliette, the second is Warner, and our new addition is wait for it…….
KENJI!!!!!!!
Yes reader, you are reading it right, we get to follow Kenji’s perspective and it is the most funniest of them all which is to be expected by him, and oh my God how much I ship him and Nazeera very hard, I do hope they end up together. They are both so cute and adorable!!!!!!
As for the plot of this book and not to give any spoilers to what happened in the previous book, expect a lot of action and thrill. This was by far the fastest book I’ve ever read. Although all her Shatter Me series reads really quickly, but for some reason, this book was even more fast paced and I just wanted to savor every moment while reading it.
There were many twist and turns and revelations in this book that left me in shock and I wonder what our characters are going to do about it.
Juliette and Warner are the most sweetest, heartwarming, and the CUTEST couple by far in this book and that ending was so sweet that my hearts burst into both joy and happy tears. Best ending ever and I am now able to wait patiently for the final book to come out. That might not have been the case if it ended in a cliffhanger. My relationship with cliffhangers is complicated.
Love the whole series! Can’t recommend enough!
I stink at writing reviews but I love this series. When Warner calls Juliette “love”… *swoons*
