Wow! Just wow! Tiffany and Rowen are one of my all time favorite couples! I was so excited for Deflected, but I was not prepared for how much I would love it! You need to read every book in the Texas Mutiny series to truly understand how perfectly amazing this book is. This was the perfect follow-up to Goalie! The Walmart scene had me sobbing – it was so perfect to see that from Tiffany’s POV. BEAUTIFUL! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
What a perfect way to end this amazing series! sad to see it come to an end, but excited for the future! it was a really nice story with a wonderful couple and amazing moments that I will cherish for a long time!
Groupie gave us a Tiffany and Rowen as a couple. And despite the fact that Carter had given us a bad taste in our mouth for Tiffany previouesly, we found ourselves rooting for them to make it as a couple!
Deflected lets us see Tiffany and Rowen grow. They grow as a couple. They grow as individuals. They grow in their professional lives. And they become a family. I love their relationship. I love that she still calls him “Rookie”. And I found myself liking Tiffany even more.
It was great to see all the Mutiny folks make appearances in the book. I found the moment between Tiffany & Mariana very real.
And thank heavens I had my kids before reading this book because it might have scared me off being pregnant forever!
Sad that it is the end of the Mutiny books. I was kind of hoping to get the story of Rowen’s parents. Ryan cracks me up!
I loved getting more about the entire Texas Mutiny gang but especially Tiffany and Rowen. When I first met Tiffany way back in Groupie I wasn’t sure I could stand her. Then ME turned her into a character I loved. I loved Rowen from the beginning. This book is perfect with telling their story. I love all the interactions with Rowens parents. They are the most perfect in laws. The Texas Mutiny crew have become family. I’m sad to see the series coming to a close.
The Texas Mutiny series has come to an end, and ME Carter has given us some of her best writing yet with Deflected.
Groupie was one of my first ME Carter books, and I’ll never forget how it felt to read such a unique love story. So I’m really glad that ME Carter continued their story and allowed us to see the growth that happened in Tiffany and Rowen’s life and relationship.
I adore Rowen and how sweet and loving he is, but for me, Tiffany is my favorite of ME Carter’s heroines. I love her personality and how she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She is such a strong and independent character, and in Deflected I related to her in so many different ways. And one of my only issues with the book was that I wished I could have read the entire thing from Tiffany’s POV. As much as I love Rowen, I think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had been able to see more in Tiffany’s perspective. I’m sure I’m in the minority with this one, but as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of dual POV’s, this is almost always an issue of mine with romance novels.
But overall Deflected was a really good read. I loved seeing the growth in Rowen and Tiffany’s relationship. The issues that popped up in the book felt so true to real life that I forgot I was reading a fictional story. Honestly, the last 15 percent of the story were so relatable to my life that I felt as if they had come straight from my memories. It’s something that I love about ME Carter’s books. She will always write her scenes as true to life and she can make them.
So if you have read the other books in the Texas Mutiny series then I definitely recommend Deflected. ME Carter’s writing has only gotten better with each book, and Rowen and Tiffany’s HEA is not something you will want to miss out on.
The depth of emotion and the capacity that these characters have to love, fight, forgive and love again is palpable. That’s what I truly love about all of M.E. Carter’s books. The ability to make readers tangibly live through her characters feelings is incredible.
It’s the end of an era, with this final book in the Texas Mutiny series and I, for one, will be so sad to see it go. But we get a continuation of Tiffany and Rowen’s story so it makes it a little more bearable.
I have so much to say about Tiffany, and this book in general, but I will invariably give the whole plot away, so I’ll try to keep this brief (and spoiler-free). If you remember Tiffany from Groupie, you’ll know she’s been through the ringer more than once, but she has this contagious fighting spirit that helps her push through anything that comes her way. It’s a good thing too, because she’s having to ride out another storm, so to speak. Only this time, she’s not alone. Bless Rowen for his patience, love, wisdom and ever-present horniness… (is that blasphemous?)… OH! And God Bless Ryan Flannigan for his foul Gaelic mouth, even though I have no idea wtf he is saying.
Bottom line is this was the perfect ending to a much loved series that will stay in my mind for years to come. It’s the conclusion you didn’t know you needed, but trust me when I say, you really, really do!
