Another mixed-up story of craziness and very little in the way of actual plot. I consider these books more of a case of sailing in white water rapids. Not even Charlaine knows where it begins and ends. And as for a plot, that is something weird you put in a sandwich apparently, not something a Sookie novel requires.
So we start at a photoshoot, …
Love the Sookie Stackhouse series!
I really enjoyed Definitely Dead. I like the addition of Quin and Amelia and Bob. I am very excited to see where Sookie’s next adventure or misadventure lands her and with who.
Love all of Charlaine Harris’s work. This series is one of the best I have ever read. Love Eric!
Enjoyed the whole series.
I have been a long tome fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books, but did not like the TV series. The books are fun to read, a little creepy, funny and romantic.
Definitely Dead maybe one of my favorites for this series. Sookie continues to find herself entangled with supernatural politics. The budding relationship with Quinn is exciting but I’m cautiously optimistic. I have a feeling he maybe a player, but I hope not! The story has plenty of mystery and blood shed. Looking forward to the next book!
Loved it as always. Charlaine Harris is one of my favorite authors.
Sookie finds out from Eric that she must attend the vampire summit that is coming up. She tries to tell him again that she is not his, she doesn’t belong to him, and that he cannot just tell her what to do. There is a double wedding being planned in Bon Temps. Sookie seems to be happier for Andy and his fiancé than she is for Portia and hers. …
Love this series
Love, love, love Charlaine Harris and this series of books!! Never disappointing.
Another mixed-up story of craziness and very little in the way of actual plot. I consider these books more of a case of sailing in white water rapids. Not even Charlaine knows where it begins and ends. And as for a plot, that is something weird you put in a sandwich apparently, not something a Sookie novel requires.
So we start at a photoshoot, Claude the gay fairy (go figure?) and Sookie in a Mr Wonderful photoshoot, don’t ask, it has nothing to do with the story. It is more of an excuse to delve into a discussion on Claude’s appearance, a fetish of the authors, lovingly describing men in great detail.
From there, it gets crazy. Debbie Pelts family are after her, convinced she had a hand in their psycho daughters death, oh what a surprise, a southern in this book which is obviously insane?
Meantime the Weretiger Quinn, all 74ft of solid muscle with a penis that is apparently 72 miles long, asks her out and drools all over her, as well as telling her the Queen needs her help. Nay demands her help.
Please, a request, can we have her desired by a dwarf or even an ordinary bloke, and she actually likes him rather than her drooling like a cat in heat every few pages?
Next, we are introduced to a Deamon or Goblins, or maybe they are both? Who knows, by this point by brains had turned to mushroom soup and were floating close to the ceiling singing a Lou Reed medley.
Oh, forget this, let’s go for the short version…
Sookie is hunted by Were, Sookie is hunted by Vampires, Sookie loses most of her clothes, Sookie gets almost f****d a lot by virtually everyone who is impossibly fit. Then gets humped by a Were, internally explored by another Were and so on …..
I think I preferred it when Sookie didn’t have a boyfriend and the stories had a plot of some description.
Tune in next week …. Sooke gets f*****d a lot. Part 7
And one final point, there is the remnants of a subplot running through this, which is apparently a short story she wrote, not part of the initial 6. So that just adds to the confusion. Sensibly the story should perhaps be included or an explanation offered?
I suspect the reason it wasn’t is that it involved a misshapen albino called Waldo, so no fit brute to drool over her, merely an Igor.
Do I recommend this book? If you are a woman hungry for descriptions of fantasy men or you enjoy pain.
I love this series too. I love that they are doing a reboot of the True Blood HBO show. I will forever consider this series my favorite vampire/supernatural series.
Love Skokie!
Sookie finds out from Eric that she must attend the vampire summit that is coming up. She tries to tell him again that she is not his, she doesn’t belong to him, and that he cannot just tell her what to do.
Jason is still very new to the supe’s world and new at being a werepanther. Him and Crystal’s relationship is moving along as fast as Jason always does.
There is a double wedding being planned in Bon Temps.
There was some chemistry between Sookie and Quinn at the Shreveport Pack Leader competition.
Because of a devious but good at heart priest, Sookie is confronted by the Pelts. They just know that Sookie knows the truth of what happened to their daughter Debbie.
Sookie is called out to New Orleans to collect the belongings of her dead vampire cousin Hadley. With a death at her house, and the lawyer Mr. Cataliades hastening her leave, Sookie asks Bill to come along with them to New Orleans.
She meets the landlord; a witch named Amelia, and discovers a dead body in the closet. (Again?) Amelia had performed a spell to keep things as they were until Sookie arrived. Now that the spell has been broken.
Have read all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels & loved every one.
Just about anything Charlaine Harris writes is entertaining. Love the Dead series. Have the whole collection of the TV series. Always enjoy reading her works.
Loved the series
A friend and my oldest sister gave me Charlaine Harris, Sookie Stackhouse Series and I binge read them one after the other. They were fun to read and my friends and sister compared what we liked about the series.
