A great love story that leaves you breathless. Taking off from where book 1 left off, Cadence and Fitz are drawn back together. Lots of twists and turns. well worth the read. Highly recommend this duet!!
This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Dakota Willink; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This is the second book in the duet and it takes place seventeen years later from where the first book ended.
Cadence is now single mom to Kallie . She never sought out Fitz to tell him they have a daughter. She is the driving force of a non profit. This puts her in the path of Fitz. He remains under his fathers ruling thumb and is a fixer. His boss works opposite in the beliefs
As they interact they realize their feelings are still strong. But will family, politics, secrets and drama will they be able to have a HEA.
Both books in the duet complimented each other and the couple. I wish that Cadence was open about her daughter with Fitz to each of them much sooner. But drama does make the tale.

I love the characters of Cadence and Fitz, and this is their story 17 years after Cadence Untouched. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would, because of how much I loved Cadence and Fitz. You really need to read these two books in order to understand the whole story and the dynamics. Cadence is a great mom and runs a non-profit. Fitz is a great dad and is a partner in a PR firm with his best friend Devon. This book covers what they have been up to and how they meet by chance again 17 years later. It had plenty of twists, and the heat between Cadence and Fitz is as strong now as it was in Cadence Untouched. I can’t say too much more because I really don’t want to give away anything. But suffice it to say, these two never stopped thinking about or caring for the other one, even when they were not together. First loves and a second chance at your first love – these are two amazing things. I loved these characters so much, I’ve love another one to see how they are doing now. Looking forward to reading more from this author, who was new to me before these two books.
This is the second book in the Cadence Duet, and the conclusion to Fitz, and Cadance’s emotional story. We are now 17 years later, Fitz, and Cadance, had both gone their separate ways, but get thrown back together in a twist a fate. Although many years have gone by, they realize they still have feelings for one another. Can Cadance forgive Fitz for leaving her all those years ago? And can Fitz forgive Cadance for the secret she kept? This is a great book, with lots of drama, chemistry, and romance.

This book was even more emotional than the first book, because of the way things ended between Cadence and Fitz. This is definitely a multiple-hankie story, but mostly in good ways. Cadence had loved Fitz so much, and he loved her, too, but felt that his father had him over a barrel where his future was concerned. Fast forward 17 years… His son and her daughter are school friends, and she figures out who Austin is. Cadence and Fitz eventually run into each other. He wants her back from the moment that they reconnect. She’s drawn to him as well, but she has so many secrets. The more involved they become, the harder it is for her to confess. He puts two and two together, and it nearly tears them apart forever. This book and the one before it (Cadence Untouched) have moved into my short list of favorite books that I’ve ever read – and I’m looking forward to many more from this author.

This is such an amazing and beautiful book! I love the characters so much and the amazing chemistry they have. I definitely recommend this book!
One summer spent together changed Fitz and Cadence forever. Seventeen years later they are brought together by fate and they still feel the same way they did that summer. I absolutely loved Cadence and Fitz’s journey of love filled with secrets, twists and that beautiful HEA was perfect! The writing is great, the characters believable and the story had me hooked from the start.
This is book two in the Cadence Duet. This is not a standalone read. So seventeen years has gone by between the two books and we get to see how Cadence and Fitz have grown and wet about their lives. Cam time dull the heartbreak and allow one to move on? From the book blurb: “Cadence is the driving force behind a non-profit organization where she handles each case with the determination of a shark. Fitz is known as Washington’s fixer. He is the CEO for a public relations firm—one that represents the politicians who fight against everything Cadence stands for.”
Fate forces these to two paths to cross again. Does time soothe all lies, secrets and betrayal? This is a great duet to read to find out.

We’re now 17 years after the end of Cadence Untouched, the first book in this duet. We first meet Cadence in her role as the owner of a non-profit that helps DACA individuals. She is surprised when her daughter’s date for the prom—whom her daughter states is just a friend—reminds her of Fitz. When she finds out his last name, she figures out that the young man must be his son. While doing her regular run at a different place in the city, she actually runs into Fitz. She had already determined to tell her daughter, Kallie, about her father; she had previously spun a tale that she didn’t know who her father was. Now, what will she tell Fitz?
I feel that the pacing wasn’t quite right with this book. I fully expected Cadence to tell Fitz about Kallie early in the book, maybe at the end of the first act or at least by the midpoint, so that the both of the book would follow the aftermath of the revelation and them all, perhaps, working toward becoming a family. Instead, the bulk of the book seemed to be about the evolving relationship between Cadence and Fitz, without her having divulged that they had a child. This might have been okay (though I think it still should have happened by the midpoint) if Cadence had wrestled more often with whether (and when) she should tell him. She did now and then (and not often for long) and more towards the end when it looks like the secret may get out anyway, but there definitely should have been more persistent inner conflict for Cadence. I thought Fitz sometimes still thought, spoke, and acted a trifle immature for his age (39).
The author clearly has some very strong political views about DACA and immigration, and she made Cadence very passionate about these topics. This is fine, but at times the dialogue felt more like political proselytizing than real conversation, which I think is unfortunate.
The end, to me, felt like it came out of nowhere. We know that Fitz’s father is a nasty piece of work, but I wasn’t expecting his cruelty and the dramatic way in which he exited the story. Unfortunately, the book had more than the common issues with grammar, punctuation, and spelling. At times plurals and possessives were confused, like panty’s vs. panties or references to family members as a group (e.g., the Millers, not the Miller’s). Some sections in italics weren’t properly italicized, with some formatting shifts coming within sentences and even words. There were some issues on occasion with capitalization.
If the first book got you emotionally invested in Cadence and Fitz, you would most likely want to read about their second chance at love. If you haven’t, this book could be read as a stand-alone, but the flaws in it and the pacing issues may be enough to distract you from reaching the end.
The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable second chance romance read.

After reading and enjoying the first part of Fitz and Cadence’s story I went straight on to read this one and it is just as good if not even better than the first book. This book has lots going on and had plenty of twists this is a super read and I really really enjoyed it and could not put it down. I would recommend it
Loved how this book has a dual POV. It really gives you the real sense of both characters in this book. Cadence Defined takes place 17 years after the first book. Trust me when I say, you really don’t need a lot of the in between. You will come across unexpected twist, but it will all make sense. Such a good series!
This is a second-chance with a man who broke Cadence’s heart. It was different but so much the same, even after 17 years. The story took place in the heart of power, deception and strong party lines. It wasn’t perfect, but I was impressed with both characters as they do what they love to help people. There were secrets and lies, but a lot of longing and passion
This is book 2 in the Cadence series. I love 2nd chance romance stories. I loved this conclusion of Fritz and Cadence. It has been 17 years since these 2 have last seen each other. Their lives are so different. This book had a nice flow. I loved how this book eneded for all the characters.
Great ending to this series. Love the characters and story line.
Cadence Defined is the conclusion to Cadence Untouched. I loved Cadence & Fitz’s story. Unique in many ways, but a solid and well used theme in others. I didn’t like that it was 17 years before they meet again, especially since Bethany (the reason they couldn’t be together before) has been gone for 11 of those years. I feel like it was a waste of time they could have had, especially time Fitz could have has with his daughter, and also time that Austin could have had a mother figure in his life. Overall it was a great story with a lot of important issues touched on without going overboard.
The audio performance was very well done, I hadn’t heard narrations from Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel until this duet but their narration was impressive.
Cadence & Fitz meet at summer camp and fall in love, but Fitz must return home at the end of the summer and marry the daughter of one of his father’s friends. Cadence knows that they only have that summer, and when she finds out she’s pregnant after Fitz’s wedding she chooses to hide their baby Kallie from him. 17 years later, Fitz’s wife has passed away, and Cadence meets his 15 year old son Austin when he picks Kallie up for the prom, and now that summer is coming back at her in every way it can and its time to tell Fitz he has a daughter.

4.5 Perfect Ending Stars!
I love the woman that Cadence grew up to be. She was an amazing Mom to her daughter, which made me connect with her on another level. Fitz, ugh I was angered that he was still letting his father pull his strings, but I loved the father he became to his son. It funny how fate works and these two are drawn back together after 17 years. I like the way Fitz mind was changed about politics after spending time with Cadence. The secrets, the twists all lead up to a perfect ending!
