Defiant Wolf by Julie K. Cohen is such an amazing story that I have read. I loved reading this story so much cause I love reading about wolf shifters and this is one of the best ones I have read this is an amazing author to read. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters, fantasy and paranormal romances.

April has chosen to take her sister’s place on one of the Alpha’s missions to gain money for the pack. The mission itself is distasteful, but knowing that you have to do what your guard says no matter what is the hardest part, especially when you know what the what really is. Nathan, the Alpha’s middle son, broke April’s heart by totally ignoring her after promising to blood bond, which caused her to publicly breaking things off with him. Now, he’s standing at the edge of the circle where the Alpha is making April choose one of the guards to take on the mission. They are all big, have horrible body odor, & leer at her hoping to be the one to take what they want from her. Nathan talks his father in to letting him be her guard on the mission eve n though he has no idea what it is she’s supposed to do. As things heat up between them once again, they have to work to earn each other’s trust as things on the mission go horribly wrong. Working together to come up with an alternative solution to the failed mission brings them even closer together & they can no longer ignore that they are fated mates. They know that by completing the blood bond that they will have to face the wrath of their Alpha to save her family.
I loved the characters in this story. They are well-developed & written. The story line keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what obstacles these 2 will face.
This is the 4th book I’ve read written by Julie Cohen; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

This was a good story about 2 wolves who are mates but encounter many problems along the way. The alpha is controlling and has it in for the h because he doesn’t want his son to mate with her. He’s also disdainful of his son and barely acknowledges him saying often that he’s not worth much. The H and h have many issues which started when the H started trying to protect the h by pushing her away. They have to work hard to resolve their differences and find a way around the alpha. It is a good story, my problem was the h remained aggressive towards the H for far too long. The editing could also use some work. I recommend this book.
Edit. I discovered after writing the review that I had received an unedited copy. It was edited after that and is undergoing an additional edit so I didn’t deduct for editing. Also while I feel that the above sentiment about the h is true, that is just a personal preference and wouldn’t bother most readers I don’t think.

April needs to protect her family she though that she had a future with Nathan Novak the son of the brutal pack alpha but he has been ignoring her So she volunteers to do a job for the pack she knows that the guards sent with her will brutalise her on the mission and that she will be destroyed at the end of it but she ahs ni choice. Then Nathan gets his father to agree to him been one of the guards. Can he keep her safe by been there do they have a future together You will have to read to see

Because I have read the Broken Shifters, it made it easier to know if a character would be dead or not and how an outcome of a conflict would not end. Still there is enough questions about the white wolves to make the story interesting and the reader eager to know more.

Each one of these guards was large, powerful, brutal, and her stomach rolled at the thought of them touching her. The Alpha didn’t care which one brutalized her, as long as the mission succeeded. Seeing Nathan join them there, probably on pack business unrelated to her mission, she is devastated that he will see her having to choose one of these men.
Nathan’s father is the Alpha who rules through fear and does cruel things Nathan doesn’t agree with. But in order to please his father while also protecting his pack and the woman he loves, he has to be careful to at least give the appearance of going along with the Alpha’s decision. But is he willing to let him send April on this dangerous mission, knowing what will happen to her from her own guard? Or does he have something else in mind?
This is great PNR book. The characters are well developed and engaging and plenty of chemistry that helps to keep you engaged. The storyline flowed smoothly from start to finish.
