We pulled the trigger and braced ourselves for the fallout. We were ready for anything. Or so we thought.War revealed our greatest weaknesses, the ones inside of us that we kept hidden. It forced us to face our vulnerabilities, to overcome the battles within that threatened to hold us prisoner.Enemies came in all forms, but so did strength. As a united front, we were unstoppable. Our power came … unstoppable. Our power came from each other, and our greatest weapon was about to be unleashed.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. I loved it. I loved Hazel, she’s a lot stronger than I would be in this situation. I loved getting more into Cruz’s thoughts and feelings.
I love how Ali wrapped everything up in a nice pretty bow. This series is definitely nothing like anything I’ve read from her before but I absolutely adored it! Can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us!
This book was by far my favorite in the series. Ali Dean perfectly wrapped up this genius series with this book. I love how Cruz and Hazel’s relationship progressed and how the rest of the boys were integrated into the series. I hope that they’ll be extensions/spin off’s for some of the boy’s stories.
What a brilliant conclusion to the series!
It was thrilling, it was exciting, it was intense. It was angsty teenage romance at its finest with mystery, revenge, and love.
It was the perfect way to end the series, and cannot wait to see what else this author brings out next.
Highly recommended!
Honestly, this book left me wanting more. More of the story, more of the characters. Can we please get a 4th Ali Dean? I highly recommend this entire series. If you haven’t read the first two books, begin there. The characters are engaging, fiery, and desirable. I loved the end to this story, and I love that the action didn’t end just because we were in the last book. Now that the Malone family is mostly in jail, the characters battle what is next for themselves and deal with some harsh emotions that have been put to the side with all of the drama occurring in the other two books. It was great to see a different side of the characters, and I would most definitely read more if there was more!!!
This is an amazing book. Who knew highschool could be so dramatic with the twists and turns it took. Cruz and Hazel were so grown up to be teenagers on the verge of college. The supporting characters were great and each showed their own personality. A well written and well developed plot by this author. A must read book for your entertainment. I received this early copy and voluntarily give my honest opinion.
Woo! What a ride!
This third installment in the Defiance Falls series picks up in the aftermath of the evidence dump to take down the Malone’s. Overnight, the crew goes from well known to notorious, and Cruz and Jeremy become heroes to the town.
I really loved Cruz in this book. He struggles with his purpose and motivation now that the Malone threat is over, and how it affects his relationships with everyone around him. His turmoil with his dad and Gramps, his friends and Hazel are all connected to his history with the Malone’s. On the lighter side, his fantasies that he explores with Hazel seriously up the steam in this one, and I am here for it. Cruz Donovan is seriously swoon worthy, y’all.
There’s more soccer action in this one, but it’s still not a heavy focus.
Lots of loose ends and smaller plots are tied up well, and the end is a solid conclusion to the series. There’s not a huge time jump in the epilogue, but I for one would love a short story or novella to give us a peek at future Cruz and Hazel. A spin off focusing the other guys would be great, too.
Defiance Falls War is the conclusion to the Defiance Falls Trilogy, and each book must be read in order!!
After the secrets and action of the first two books, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. I was excited to see how everything played out yet nervous that it could be a little too much. But Ali Dean has delivered the perfect conclusion!
I loved how she wrapped everything up in a neat little bow but still had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how it all played out. The action & drama continued but led to answers and resolutions, ensuring this book is anything but boring.
While I’m definitely happy with how everything concluded I would love more from these characters! Here’s to hoping for more books, sports, and some college action!
I loved this series! So sad for it to be over because I loved the characters so much. (Fingerscrossed that we get some more of the Hazel’s boys!) This final book in the trilogy starts off right where book 2 ended so make sure you start with book one and read in order. Each book shows the growth of Hazel, Cruz and their friends, and it was amazing to see how much Hazel had embraced her strength and leadership throughout the series. It’s great to see such a strong female character who wasn’t afraid to show emotion but was still a badass.
Defiance Falls War takes a through the consequences of “outing” the Malones and how that affects the whole Braven crew and the town of Defiance Falls. There are many twists and turns that keep you on your toes as the main players fight for stability after the big revelations. Readers are left with a very satisfying ending to the series. My only complaint would be that I wish there was some more scenes between Hazel and Cruz – but that’s me just being selfish because I love them as a couple!
Overall, another great series by Ali Dean. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
This series was quite different from the Pepper Jones series but just as good if not better. Ali Dean’s writing is amazing. Every time I start a book by her I’m hooked from the start. I am really looking forward to more from her.
With this being the third book in the Defiance Falls trilogy, it gives you every emotion from the first two books and more! Action packed, addicting, romantic, page turner, thrill seeking; are just a few words to describe this amazing book.
Hazel and Cruz’s relationship gets put to the test in this book. I love seeing both of their characters evolve and grow to tackle and overcome the obstacles they have to encounter apart and together.
This is the thing I love about Ali’s books. Her characters never stay the same throughout the books, they grow and show their true colors in the end.
Being a soccer girl at heart. Definitely loved the added soccer scenes with in.
I absolutely loved this series from Ali Dean! It was a different in a way from the usual books she has written and I enjoyed it oh so much! I love all of Ali Dean’s books and this one is no exception!! This book series had all of the feels, of friendship, mystery, love and loyalty! Go grab your copy!! It is a must read!

This was the third book in the trilogy and it was great! Knew it was the final book going in and I was still wondering how it was all going to be wrapped up to the last ten pages. Would love to see a spinoff so we could have all the group have their HEAs, and especially would love to see more from a certain new character that Hazel’s dad seemed to know real well. But if that never comes to fruition, this is still a very satisfying end to the Defiance Falls series.
DFW is the 3rd and final book book in the Defiance Falls series, picking up right where book 2 ended.
In this book, we get to see the group taking action to get their lives back and finally end the Malone’s reign over them and others. Ali Dean also takes us deeper into Hazel and Cruz’s relationship, showing us how hard just accepting being happy can be for Cruz but also how great the two of them are together. While there were some parts that could be kind of slow, I definitely still loved the book and the series. I am hoping that Bodhi and Ruby will get their own book to show us where their feelings began and what happens with them now.
I absolutely loved this story! It was a great read and a great conclusion to this series. I would highly recommend reading the previous two books in this series as they definitely build off of one another and the actions in book 2 really affect this book, (book 3). It was great getting to see Cruz and Hazel together and seeing them present an united front. This book falls between the new adult and young adult genres. There is sex but it is not explicit and you really don’t get any details, but you know that it is happening between the characters. I loved getting to see Cruz and Hazel together and watching them figure out how to be together and dealing with fears and what was going on around them. They have dropped the evidence on the Malone’s and so everything has changed. They are more in power now and have to figure out how to deal with that and what it means for everyone. This story has plenty to grab and hold your attention the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters within our main group. It would be cool to come back and visit them again to see the rest of the crew get their happy endings. This book does conclude the story and you get a happy ending for sure. There is action and intrigue along with the romance and watching the characters figure out their relationship and how it fits with life and a future. Fantastic read!

Satisfying conclusion to an exciting, YA, romantic-thriller trilogy
The adventures in this book are launched immediately after the cliffhanger at the end of Book 2. This novel does not stand alone, and it is crucial to read the other two books in this trilogy, in order, before reading this book.
Hazel Ross and Cruz Donovan have just begun their senior year in high school, along with their same-age coterie of best friends, Bodhi and Emmett Boyd (Hazel’s first-cousins), Spike Matlock and Peter Moody. These six are the main actors in this drama, but there are also crucial appearances by Hazel’s father, her grandparents, and Cruz’s father and grandfather.
There is plenty of action in the form of shootings, multiple arrests, and attempted murder. There are also more sexy times between Hazel and Cruz, as well as some rocky moments in their romance. All’s well that ends well, however, and there is a positive, upbeat resolution that does an excellent job of rounding out this exciting series.
Fans of the first two books will not want to miss this final book in a terrific, YA, thriller series.
I rate this book as follows:
Heroine: 4 stars
Hero: 4 stars
Subcharacters: 4 stars
Romance Plot: 4 stars
Thriller Plot: 4 stars
Writing: 4 stars
Overall: 4 stars

THRILLING!
A fantastic ending to this exciting series that had me hooked from the start keeping me entertained and on my toes with this one being just as engaging while filling all the pieces leaving me thrilled for it to finally come to an end. It’s intense edgy exciting entertaining emotional with thrilling chemistry and at times hard to put down.
Well we pick up where we left off. Except this time the story just dives in and gets to business. It was suspenseful and intense. The whole gang is dealing with their actions and always on their toes. Hazel is worried for Cruz which undoubtedly she has good reason. Anyone who has been through what he has makes you wonder if they will crack at any moment or get help to deal with his demons! I hope you remembered the girl who is being a baby about not making the team. Well she is back. Does Louise redeem herself? Will Hazel go bad all the way or actually be the voice of reason. What will happen to them? So much happens and your constantly on the edge of your seat! At one point I was like biosynthesis good right, then bam Ali throws a twist in there I didn’t see coming. Does Hazel and Cruz get a happily ever after? You need to read the book and see.
Be prepared with this final book in the series! It was a nail biter!

You know when a series is so good you don’t want to read the last book because you don’t want it to end but at the same time you can’t wait to read the last book because you can’t wait to see what happens? Well that is exactly how it was for me with Defiance Falls War. u2063

Between arrests, shootings, and attempted murders this last book really brings out a ton of emotion for everyone in the group. This third book starts out with the reactions of everyone in town when the evidence on the Malones’ criminal activities come out, which causes the guys and Hazel to be treated differently. With all this going on it doesn’t go over well with the group when one of them goes missing. u2063

The conclusion to the Defiance Falls Trilogy did not disappoint! While you started getting answers you continued biting your nails until the very end. I liked that we got to see more of Cruz and his thoughts. I love books with multiple POVs because it helps you get a better idea of, not only what’s going on in the story, but also everyone’s personal feelings. In this final installment we get to see that even though Cruz had to grow up quickly, he is still a little boy that needs reassurance. Hazel just plainly kicks some major butt. She is not a wilting flower anymore, she is a strong tree with deep roots that not even a hurricane can knock her over. Even though we get a sense of closure in this book, I would enjoy a couple of spin-offs of this series. I crave to hear more about Cruz and Hazel. I also want to get in the minds of the other crew members. Hearing Hazel’s dad’s POV would be the cherry on top! Ali Dean does a great job of making the story flow as if it’s only one book instead of three. Her ability to catch your attention and draw you in is beyond mesmerizing. She writes a series that is unputdownable and makes you feel fully encompassed into the story. This is another 5-star read by Ali Dean!
I am willingly leaving a review after receiving an advanced copy.
This is the final installment in this original and entertaining new series by Ali Dean. While this book has soccer as the main characters’ goto sport, the plot centers more around the happenings and drama surrounding the town and people of Defiance Falls and their attempts to seek justice. This is slightly different from Dean’s past books that had sports as more of a main plot point, but with all the intrigue, you won’t miss it. If you want an action packed series with tons of drama and a wonderful couple (Hazel and Cruz), then grab this Series now! I thoroughly enjoyed it! 4 Fantastic Stars!
