A Fabulous story with Love, Suspense, Danger & new starts
Alert! Book contains some Sad but intriguing back-stories that are a must know & I’m not gonna spoil them
The blurb is perfect, so I’ll focus on the things I loved:
1) I admired Keirnan & Dane’s strength through it all.
A villain from Auggie’s(her dad) past wanted revenge & made her that means. She suffered so much for something she hadn’t done. It was really sad to see how much close danger was to her all along.
2) Their attraction was evident from the start, I’m so happy they came together before it & Dane was so much help otherwise it could’ve been so worse!
3) Emmy, Dane’s daughter, is a ray of sunshine!
4) Dane’s vigilance & Keirnan’s kindness were attractive.
5) I loved the story’s setup & the secondary happenings, they made this book able to connect to real life
6) The rescue was timed perfectly! Her pain ripped me (& Dane too, from the moment he knew she’d been kidnapped..)
7) Loved their family & friends!
This story written by PJ fiala is just the start of GHOST, the organization b/w Military & police. PJ has done her magic on this & I’m really excited for the next book!
P.s. Loved their marriage! The whole occasion was swoony
OMG. This story is SO good. I couldn’t put it down.
Keirnan is a teacher who is trying to help the local library get repairs done. She’s hosting a reading group for children with their family members, babysitters, and anyone who wants to help them read.
Dane is a single parent and and retired from the military. He’s got a 5 year old daughter who is in Keirnan’s class.
When Keirnan is storing items for the auction for the library, she hears a noise from the back where it is closed to the public. There she meets a man who gives her the creeps. She asked him who he was and he wouldn’t tell her his name, only that he was considering donating to the library.
When Keirnan meets Dane for the first time it’s when he drops his daughter at school.
Dane finds out that she’s been kidnapped and her dad , being a friend asks him for help.
Will Dane and Keirnan get together or not?
There’s so much action, romance, and suspense packed into this book.
I can’t wait to see the next book in the series.
Whooeee, she’s done it again. P.J. Fiala has once again had my hands glued to my e-reader with her book, Defending Keirnan. Ms. Fiala has provided readers with a well-written book and populated it with characters that make this story a joy to read. Keirnan is a teacher and is working on a fundraiser to promote her reading program at the local library. Dane is fresh out of the Army and trying to decide what job he’s interested in while raising his daughter. Keirnan and Dane’s story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved every page of this book and look forward to my next book by P.J. Fiala. Defending Keirnan is the prequel to the GHOST Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
PJ Fiala wove a great tale for the prequel of a new series titled GHOST. It should be a great new world with determined military men who protect their women at all cost.
Keirnan Vickers is a kindergarten teacher and Dane Copeland’s a widowed father to a sweet little girl. Neither Keirnan or Dane are looking for love, but sometimes love finds you.
I really liked that Defending Keirnan was a full length novel and I think the GHOST series needed it. There is enough content and back story to have a good understanding of GHOST and what it will become as the series continues.
Wow, what an amazing book, great suspense beautiful characters I love Emmy.
This book is captivating I could not put it down. The writing is vividly and the descriptions of the surroundings are lively. You can picture it in front of you.
I can’t wait for the next book on this series
Wonder how GHOST was started? Well here is Dane and Keirnan story and hold on to the edge of your seats its going to be a bumpy ride. Dane just retired from special forces and is taking care of his daughter when he meets her teacher Keirnan and sparks fly between them, but someone wants her dead . Can Dane and her father save heroin time? This book was absolutely fantastic and it is filled with suspense and action pack and romance and chemistry and a few tears and fears. P.J. did not disappoint in this book it was absolutely fantastic and everything you could ask for and more.
I have come to really enjoy the GHOST series and this prequel was special since it gives the reader the why and how GHOST was formed.
The story centers around Dane Copeland and Keirnan Vickers.
Dane is a single dad to adorable five year old Emmy. A former special ops Army man, he is now looking forward to spend time with his daughter and find a job that allows him to do just that.
When he meets Keirnan, Emmy’s kindergarten teacher, the attraction is immediate.
When Keirnan finds herself in danger from possibly someone in her father’s past, Dane is ready to keep her safe.
The plot was quick paced, engaging, filled with bad guys , and whodunit. Main characters, Dane and Keirnan were likable each with an interesting and in Dane’s case, touching.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Fabulous Beginnings of the GHOST team!!
Dane is raising his young daughter alone after the tragic death of his wife Catherine. He has recently retired from Special Ops and trying to figure out his “next steps”. With his new availability he walks his daughter to class and meets her teacher Keirnan.
They start dating and sparks fly! Strange happenings make Dane aware Keirnan is in danger. He uses his expertise to add security to her home, but she cannot always be in a protected area.
Danger, intrigue, romance and a delightful 5-year-old will have you laughing and sighing through this fabulous story.
What a way to start a series! There’s mystery , suspense, kidnappings, danger, betrayal and romance what more could you want . There’s a hot guy with a daughter, a school teacher and the interaction between the characters is great. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the series goes. You won’t be disappointed in this book.
Another great read by Patti. There was a lot of intrigue, danger, kidnappings and secrets. I loved Emmy she was a doll. Her dad, Dane was out of the service to take care of his little girl, his wife, Catherine, was hit by a drunk driver at a young age. His mother had been helping him while he was in the service, but he’s out now. When he met Keirnan, sparks started to fly. I wish I had read this first before the other books, since I already knew Gaige’s story, but this is how the series begin. HEA.
After leaving the Army as a special operative, Dane Copeland thinks that his life will be less dangerous. As a single father the love and safety of his young daughter is his only priority. That is until he meets her teacher Keirnan Vickers. The two embark on a fast paced friendship which turns romantic very quickly. But when her life is in danger, Dane must use the training as well as others in the field to save her and bring her home. Will this be a new beginning or a tragic ending? Can Dane find love as well as a new career all at the same time? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that leave the reader wanting more this was a great beginning to the GHOST series. I instantly fell in love with Dane and Keirnan and look forward to reading more.
PJ Fiala takes her readers on a wild ride of mysterious accidents, kidnappings and murderous plots all while falling in love with the hawt, single father of an adorable little girl, who is falling right back. Whew, what a prequel for the new GHOST series. Cannot wait for more!!
starting off to be great.
I would really Like to see how the rest of the series turns out.
Keirnan was happy living her dream of being a teacher and helping the community
Out by raising money to restore the old library.
She meets Dane Copeland a retired special op operator through his daughter
By bringing her to school and the relationship takes off among her kidnapping and rescue.
This thrilling story will have you biting your nails! Kiernan is a teacher with a heart of gold. She is in the process of having a fundraiser to repair the old library when she encounters a strange man. Things are not as they seem and people she thought she could trust betrayed her. When it all comes out, Dane the new man in her life will be the one along with her father that will get to the bottom of what is going on. In the end a new organization will form and a new adventure will begin. PJ is an amazing storyteller and this story is by far one of the best I have read! The characters and storyline hooks you in and have you cheering for Kiernan and Dane. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Another great addition to the Ghost Series. This is the prequel where we learn how GHOST was collaborated. Dane is now retired from the Army and trying to figure out what to do next in his life while raising his daughter with the help of his mom after the loss of his wife. While dropping off his daughter he meets Keirnan his daughters teacher and there is an instant connection. Keirnan brings a spark into his life he hasn’t felt in a long time. As they start a relationship things start to happen that have Dane wanting to protect and keep her safe. When Keirnan is suddenly kidnapped Dane teams up with Keirnan’s dad and some military friends to get her back. Wonderful love story with a combination of action and suspense. I look forward to reading more from this series.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
I started reading PJ Fiala on the recommendation of a friend. I have never looked back. Her stories are filled with everything from suspense, love, action and romance. Defending Kiernan is no different. This story will catch your attention from the first paragraph to the last. You feel everything Kiernan is going through and then add an adorable 5 year old and you have the making of a 5 star read.
Dane just retired from the military and now he is trying to figure out what to do. Kiernan is a schoolteacher and also trying to raise money for their library for much needed improvements. She is a determined and strong woman. From the moment Dane meets Kiernan he is attracted to her. He also becomes very protective of her. Their story is strong and a great beginning to a new series.
Kiernan is a teacher, Dane is single dad. When they meet, they feel attraction.
When Kiernan is kidnapped, Dane needs to get with his contacts in Army to save the woman, who is close to his heart.
Story is wonderful, it has a romance it has a suspense. We learn how GHOST was born.
This is the first book in the GHOST series. All the books I’ve read in this series have been absolutely wonderful. Great characters, lots of action, and intriguing story lines.
Truly enjoyed this book, can’t wait to read the next in the series!
