I’m the Seattle Shark’s Defender.Lightning on the ice with a dedication to my team no one can shake. At least, I thought so.Before her. Harper Thompson.Gorgeous. Awkward. Genius. She’s developing a new helmet that will revolutionize safety standardsAnd I’ve just volunteered to be her personal guinea pig.My reasoning lies in my past and who I lost… this helmet could still save.
Her mouth drives me wild and her mind brings me to my knees.
But she’s moving across the country, and I bleed Seattle Shark green.
The ticking time bomb can’t stop the electricity between us, or the fact that my heart wants her more than the jersey on my back.
My contract and her lab are on the line if we’re discovered.
One mistake and we’ll both lose everything we’ve ever worked for.
But success means walking away from the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
Harper Thompson’s the one hit I never saw coming.

I absolutely loved Harper!! She’s an absolute genius with a big caring heart and soul. Nathan Noble is a swoon worthy gentleman. I loved the cause they are both so passionate about.
This story sets the background for the Reapers series that follows.
I love all the Seattle Sharks books and Nathan and Harper’s book was another great read. I love the slow burn of Harper and Nathan’s relationship and when they finally got together it was perfection. Another great read and great story with amazing characters that I really enjoyed.
Though I read the books backwards, each book is a standalone and I loved reading Nathan’s and Harper’s book. I enjoyed reading this wonderful hockey romance book
I love all of the characters in this series. This book was just as good as all of the other ones.
Another addictive addition to this exciting series that always leaves me wanting more. Defender had me sat in bed reading until the early hours even though I had work the following morning. As with any book by this author, it had me hooked and didn’t let go until the end. I loved seeing the connection developing between Harper and Nathan as they work together and are determined to prevent others going through what their loved ones have had to deal with. I’m excited to see what Samantha Whiskey has planned next for the Seattle Sharks as old friends move on and we meet new ones. Whilst each book of this series can be read as a standalone, I would recommend taking the time to start from the beginning and immerse yourself in the world of the Seattle Sharks – you won’t be disappointed!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
I love Noble. The Sharks are hands down on of my favorite hockey teams on my Kindle and I’m so happy Noble got a story and he ended with Harper. The tease of them being a possibility an earlier book, then getting a peek into what happened then was perfect.
They were the perfect counter balance to each other and like any other time I read about a Shark I went into overtime unable to put it down.
This was an incredibly invigorating, and enthralling journey to go on with Nathan and Harper. They seems like two people who have nothing in common, but clearly have a connection with one another. They are both driven to excel in their own respective careers, which brings them tighter together. I loved how Nathan accepted Harper for all her quirks rather than dismiss her because she spoke her mind, and analyzed everything. They both found something that they did not know that they needed. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. Samantha Whiskey is an amazing storyteller that certainly knows how to draw you in, hold your attention, and warms your heart in the end.
A fantastic sports romance that doesn’t disappoint! This newest addition to the series packs the punch with its opposite attract, sweet and funny banter, Nathan and Harper is a winning couple that you can’t help but fall in love with. Their journey was a joy to follow and made my heart smile with the many heartfelt moment from start to finish. If you love this genre than this is a definite must read for you.
The 9th book in the Seattle Sharks Series and still going strong!
Nathan and Harper’s sizzling connection, swoon-worthy moments and the heart of hearts story that keeps them in one another’s lives made for an absolute stellar Hockey Romance!
I cannot get enough of Samatha Whiskey’s Sharks!
5+ Stars!!

Every time I read a new Sharks book I remember why I fell in love with the series to start with. There is something absolutely addicting about these men and the women they fall for, this story was no exception.
Noble – Both in name and nature. He is sweet, caring, determined, affectionate, protective.
Harper – beautiful , quirky, career driven, a scientific genius and a non-believer when it comes to love.
“This wasn’t chemistry. This wasn’t even nuclear. This was the shit that caused the Big Bang. Entire universes could have been created from this kiss.”
Can Noble make a believer out of Harper? Or will her rational, scientific brain and secret project put more than just Noble’s heart in danger?
Defender is the 9th Book in the Seattle Sharks series and this book is like winning the Stanley Cup of Hockey romances. Nathan and Harper have a chemistry so electric that you will continue to get zapped from the static electricity these two produce at every turn of the page. Their story is emotional, overflowing with heart, soul and passion. This book will have you jumping out of your seat, like you do with a game winning goal as you feel every sensation that Nathan and Harper experience as the countdown begins. This book will make you smile, shed a tear and will heat you up so much that you should not be anywhere near an ice rink for fear of melting the ice. If there was a couple from this series that totally stole my heart, it was definitely these two.
From the moment they met Nathan Noble knew there was something special about Harper Thompson. She is slightly awkward, always has her nose in a book, has a heart of gold, and a body made for sin… even if she doesn’t know it. On paper they have nothing in common, but that doesn’t stop him from checking her out every chance he gets, or creating reasons to spend more time with her. When he learns of a new project she is working on, and that she could use his expertise, he wants to jump at the chance to help her out… but doing so could cost him everything he loves. And hockey will always be his first love, or will it?
Between the pages of Defender readers will find a steamy little opposites attract tale that will have their toes curling and their swoon meter on high alert! These two are about as different as two love birds could be, but the chemistry they share proves that love knows no bounds. As soon as I met them I knew I was in for a treat, they had be smiling in a matter of minutes and it just continued to get better from there. Nobody does hockey romance quite like Ms. Whiskey, her stories are one of a kind, and her characters are unforgettable. Once again she has created a gem of a story that has left my heart happy, and anxious for more! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it’s captivating, emotional, and good on the heart!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Defender is book 9 in The Seattle Shark series and is swoon worthy. This book will leave you with a smile and a sigh. Nathan and Harper light the pages on fire and will leave you hanging by a thread to see if everything will work out in the end. Definitely a 5 star read, this series by Samantha Whiskey just get better and better.
I knew I was going to love Nathan Noble. I so wanted him and Harper to get together.
It was kind of hard to love Harper at first. She is so intelligent and her brain is always working something out. She would just pause in whatever she was doing and let her brain just flow. Noble got used to her way of thinking and the more he thought about it, it just turned him on. He finally pulled Harper into his orbit and to watch these two fall in love, was glorious.
I don’t want to give you the gist of the story, because, well, you have read the blurb, but, you really, really need to read the book. You will not regret it.
And, while I was reading the epilogue, I started squealing, OUT LOUD, because, HELLO, Axel.
*** I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book. ***
This is the story of Noble and Harper. Another great Shark story. This is a very emotional story. They have great chemistry, yet they deny themselves for a long time. Once they really get together, they have a time frame to be with one another. Work comes first for each of them, although they are striving for the same goal. The plot is great and very realistic. And let’s not forget the steamy love scenes that Samantha Whiskey never fails to give us. I enjoyed this book a great deal. Looking forward to another.
Just when you think Samantha Whiskey and her Seattle Sharks series can’t get any better, Defender appears!
Harper a sometimes socially awkward genius, has the job of a lifetime waiting. All she has to do is finish her most recent research. Research that allows the manufacture of state of the art sport’s safety equipment.
Nathan Noble has a very personal reason for helping Harper Thompson with her research and is ultimately prepared to put his career, and his life, on the line.
What originally begins as friends hanging out together, develops into ‘lab partners’ that spend a huge amount of time together.
The chemistry between them is explosive, but knowing that, in a matter of months Harper will be leaving Seattle, stops things from becoming more intimate.
However, there is one way to collect the necessary research without alerting anyone’s suspicion to their research and they enter into a suitable ‘arrangment’ as their cover.
The road to this couple’s HEA is at times sweet, sexy and tortured, knowing what is ahead of them.
The final chapters bringing this emotional story to a conclusion cannot be read without the availability of tissues BUT the ensuing tears are So worth it!
Another must from the pen of Samantha Whiskey.
