Wow an amazing second chance book three in the Frazier Falls series! It is is well written, emotionally deep, fast pace, engaging, and well developed. There is action, drama, humour, witty banter, family, steam, intrigue, and much more to look forward to in this book. The characters are likeable; their chemistry is undeniable!
A recommended read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Defend Me is the third book in the Frazier Falls Small Town Series. I love this series! The small town and the characters have been so much fun to read about. This book addresses the seriousness of bullying in school and the effects it has on children. It was great seeing how Rose came to understand that she needed to think before she spoke. I liked that Paxton was able to overcome as an adult and became more involved in life. This was a great book and I hate to see the series end!

This was a tough one for me because Rose bullied Paxton, not as much as Brady who tortured him regularly and tried to kill him, but still she bullied with words. That’s how I was bullied in high school by being made fun of. Unlike Brady, she does show that people can change and she realizes that words can hurt just as much if not more than actions. Paxton is such a good guy to volunteer to help around Frazier Falls, especially the elderly. I’ve been rooting for him to find his happily ever after since the first book in this series.
Rose is a people person who works for a successful fashion magazine in New York who flees back to her hometown of Frazer Falls following a breakup. Paxton is a shy observer yet extremely attractive, so different from the boy who was bullied mercilessly. When Rose and Paxton are reunited, their attraction is instantaneous yet will they be able to overcome the pain of their past in order to find their happy future. Defend Me is a captivatingly heartwarming new story from Kelly Collins filled with heartache, painful pasts, insecurities, humorous wit, steamy passion, forgiveness, healing, second chances, and love. This is one series, one book with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with.
Paxton Cooper works with his brothers in their family business, Cooper Construction. He is known as the quiet one and isn’t much for socializing or dating but finds himself helping some of the older women in town with yard work that they may have trouble maintaining. Paxton has always remained in Frazier Falls despite being picked on throughout both Elementary and High School.
Rose Rogers is an editor at Flare Magazine but when she catches her boyfriend, James Rivers, cheating on her she decides to head home to Frazier Falls early before her close friend, Carla, gets married. What she doesn’t expect to find is Paxton Cooper shirtless in her mom’s front yard mowing the lawn.
Rose and Paxton have a history and it’s one neither wants to bring up or deal with. Their hatred of one another goes back to what Rose put Paxton through in elementary school.
Can the two figure out a way to coincide while Rose is back in town for the wedding or will there be too much to overcome from the past?
This is another great book by the author and I am really enjoying getting to know the citizens of Frazier Falls.
I liked Paxton but he really seemed to keep to himself in town and had no desire to do more socializing than he was absolutely required to. He seemed like a great guy but it seemed like he had little self confidence for conversation and mingling with others.
Rose seemed super confident yet she was hurt by catching James cheating on her and headed home to get away from it all. When she saw Paxton I was confused on why she hated him so much, especially when we begin to learn everything that happened between them.
There was a lot of tension between Paxton and Rose and you had a feeling things would definitely get heated soon! I loved what happened at the first wedding events and ho drunk both Rose and Paxton got! I also really liked how both Paxton and Rose viewed everything completely different and how it was Paxton that was the more concerned one of the two of them.
I wasn’t expecting the events with Lauren and Melanie and how everything imploded. I really did feel sorry for Rose as I didn’t think she was guilty of what everyone was accusing her of. I loved what happened at the diner when Eli and Rose were together. I liked how Eli began to see Rose differently and was ready to help her.
The events at the bar were awesome and I was so proud of Rose! I was surprised at what Rose realized through all of it and how she was prepared to resume her life.
The end was great and I was so happy that everything turned out the way it should!
The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were created with such great detail and depth that Rose and Paxton kept me totally captivated as their journey unfolded!
Small town settings are great to base a love story. Everyone knows your name and your business. Makes for entertaining reading! Interesting characters who go through a lot of emotions and feelings to get to the other side. Good read!

Paxton had a hard time in high school with bullies but life turned around for him and his adult life is going good. Until Rose comes back to Frazier Falls and Paxton relives his past hurt. This is an emotional read and pulled at my heartstrings many times. Two strong characters who have to work through their past in order to find a future. This is well written with well developed characters and a perfect ending.
Paxton has always been cool, calm and quiet so to see how he reacted to Rose coming back to town was a surprise but always made you realise how deeply his past hurt him. I will be honest I did need to warm up to Rose as I felt so protective of Paxton, however once you get to know her and see her reflect on the past you warm up to her just like Paxton. There is a lot more emotion in this book to the others however there needs to be as well it’s Paxton so he needs it. I absolutely loved this read and do hope it isn’t the end of Fraser Falls just because the Cooper boys are all matched up!

Great story with amazing characters. Pax is the hometown boy everybody loves, he’s always there for his family and community. Rose grew up with Pax but always teased him to cover up her true feelings for him, she left to chase her dreams in New York. When she returns for his brother’s wedding they are thrown together again and sparks fly. This is a friend/enemies to lover romance as they both fight it all the way. Humor, steam a lot of feelings make this a great book.
Loved this storyline is awesome I had a great time getting to know the well developed and engaging characters. The flow of the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

This is another great read from this author.
In this book which is the third book in Frazier Falls series
we find out Paxton story and why there is so much going
on between him and Rose since they have known each other
most of there life.
In the plot there’s a small amount of bullying but that leads
up to what is going on with Paxton and Rose.

LOVE IT – Hope it is not the end! I guess with the third and final Cooper brother to find his match, I guess this is the end of Frazier Falls series. I would hope not, but I have to say I loved the twist to this story. This story is about Paxton Cooper and Rose Rogers. Paxton is the last Cooper brother that has not been tied down as he is also the one in town to help every elderly person especially women. They love to have him come over and mow yards so that he can take off his shirt! It was hilarious to see the older women flaunt to him, but he is such a respectable young man that he loves what he gets in return which is their cooking…. Granted I thought this book was going to be about Paxton being the one defending, but it turned out to be the opposite, he was defended, and I love how it was done.
Rose is in NYC and thinks that the man she has been dating is going to ask her to move in on their one year anniversary; however, she ends up catching him cheating on her in a club that he was taking her to. You may want to feel bad for Rose but then you learn she is a bully as well…. Paxton is of course mowing the lawn of Rose’s mother when she is being dropped off by a yellow cab in her club clothes. He doesn’t want to talk to her or anything like that, but the story takes off right after that as the wedding of Owen and Carla is happening and she is a bridesmaid to it. I won’t give it all out but note that it was an awesome read!
