I really enjoyed this read – what a strong mix of contemporary and history!
I love the concept behind this story—soulmates reunited after centuries apart—but can they overcome in this life larger hurdles than they overcame in the last? Then, to complicate matters, throw in an overprotective guardian, some Hollywood glitz and an unsolved murder and you have one wild and crazy ride.
Clara has a gift for dropping you into the middle of a moment and painting the scene around you—you genuinely feel that you are taking this journey by the heroine’s (Millicent) side—and despite her immortal status, she retains all the human qualities that make her so lovable and relatable.
I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!
The story is awesome being that it’s about vampires. I loved the fact that reincarnation and/or doppelgangers are in this story. I really like anything paranormal. This book was a slow read for me. Not because of the content but because of the small print in the paperback. That set me back a little bit with the speed of reading this story but it didn’t hinder me on liking the story. I did however predict a few things that happened in the book, that I definitely don’t want to give away. Alexandre! Millicent and Jack are perfect for each other. Their relationship, meant to be only fun, turns into way more real quick. There attraction undeniable. Alexandre was Millicent and Annie’s maker. I found myself in awe of him in the beginning but hated him towards the end. I really enjoyed the 18 century flashbacks. I would have loved to live in that era, wait maybe I did. Fun story and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Deepest Midnight: Book One of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter is a paranormal romance and supernatural themes. This captivating tale revolves around vampires, which is full of suspense and drama, mystery and action, love and pain. Clara has written a story that pulls at you and keeps you enthralled all the way through and definitely leaving the best of the story until the very end. Clara’s attention to the detail of the characters and the world in which she created is rich and vivid and brings the story to life. The story transitions nicely from the 18th Century to modern day.
Millicent has been in mourning, for over two hundred years. Losing your soulmate never gets easier no matter how many years have passed. Imagine her shock when she comes upon a face, a face of someone from her past. Could it be him, her long lost love? And what will her maker, make of her new find?
I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Rebel Heart. If you like a good vampire book then have a read of this one.
I wasn’t sure about Deepest Midnight when I started reading it but it has really grown on me. It is far better than certain other contemporary vampire romances and I liked the looks back into Millicent’s past. It added more to the story in a great way as opposed to leaving huge questions for possible later books.
Even though this book probably wasn’t supposed to be as funny as I found it, one of my favorite bits near the beginning is when Millicent thinks “Oh I can’t just tell this guy I’m a vampire and can’t go out in the day time” when she absolutely could have. The time period being now, the fact that she wears all black, and her being crazy rich would have been PERFECT for her to just play it like she’s really eccentric or really into the goth lifestyle. She also could have played it like a deadpan joke. I definitely died laughing if she had.
Alexandre is incredibly intriguing and I constantly wanted to know more about his backstory and was rooting for Millicent to give him a piece of her mind for treating her like property at times.
Really looking forward to the next book
Deepest Midnight (Book One of the Immortal Kindred Series) By Clara Winter
5 Stars!!!!!
I love finding new authors as well as new series. I also love books with Vampires. This book was just my cup of tea! The author had a very unique take on vampires and I found her characters to be quite refreshing.
I found that I was really routing for Millicent. I like how the author was able to introduce parts of her past to enrich the book and help to get to know her character better. I also enjoyed how the author was able to bring the drama into the book. I quite enjoyed how the author was able to draw out the intrigue and the murderer wasn’t really obvious at first. I really enjoyed this book from page one and cannot wait to read more from this author and this series.

Deepest Midnight: Book 1 of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter is a paranormal romance that I couldn’t put down once I started reading. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept my attention till the end. The characters are very detailed and I felt like I was going right along with them. The character Millicent is a Immortal/vampire who feels grief still because of the past. When she finds herself caught and looking into the eyes of a man whom looks like her dead love. This man’s name is Jack. There is definitely desire and attraction between these two. What will happen with these two? What will she do? Find out what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is book one in the Immortal Kindred series. As far as vampire stories go, this one is interesting because the author throws in the idea of reincarnation as well. Millicent was alive in the 1700’s and was a French noblewoman. She fell in love with a man who wasn’t her husband. Soon after she became a vampire and for over two hundred years mourns the loss of her true love. By chance, she meets a man who is the spitting image of her lost love. Does reincarnation exist? Can this actually be him?
The story switches back and forth between the 18th century and present day so we fully understand Millicent’s life. The author did a good job because you never get lost within the story. Milli’s knowledge of vampire history is limited to only what her maker told her, which isn’t much. She has only lived with her maker and another vampire, rarely meeting any other immortal. Guaranteed this will lead to some interesting situations later in the series.
This is the first book that I have read from this author. I found the story to be easy flowing and interesting. There was romance, drama and mystery rolled all together which made an intriguing story. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Deepest Midnight by Clara Winter is the first book in the first book in the Immortal Kindred series. The story is set in modern day Savannah, Georgia with some flashbacks to the 18th century French court. Millicent is an immortal vampire who meets an actor who looks like her long lost love of ages ago. I really like Millicent and the other characters. I was drawn in by the story and loved the flashbacks to her mortal life. The secondary characters were great. I really look forward to reading more from this series.

Deepest Midnight was a brilliant read; I was hooked from beginning to end. The author‘s writing was excellent, the story flowed well, it was easy to read and very engaging. The author’s attention to detail was great which made it even better to read. The characters were well thought out and developed well over the story. Vampire stories are amongst my favourite paranormal romance reads but I do find sometimes they are much the same so I liked that this one was a little different, I could tell the author had really thought about what she was writing about and which direction she wanted her characters to go in. There was a dark undertone to the story too which I particularly liked. I enjoyed the little snippets into Millicent’s past and finding out more about her.
Overall I thought that this was a fantastic paranormal romance read with some great twists and turns which left me guessing what was going to happen! I am really looking forward to reading book 2 in the series and I highly recommend this one!
For some reason, I was initially hesitant about reading this story – I’m sure it was the space I was in at that moment. What was I hesitant for? This story is fantastic.
I was immediately invested in the characters. The story moves quickly and doesn’t use a ton of unnecessary descriptions. It is clearly well plotted from beginning to end. I read it in one sitting and read every word. There was no need to skim at any point.
There is a lot right with this book and nothing wrong with it.
This is a book I would recommend to my younger cousins and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Deepest Midnight is the first book in The Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter. This was my first read by Ms. Winter, but I am a real sucker for a good vampire story, so she had me right from the beginning. The story is a paranormal romance, with vampires, supernatural themes, suspense, action, drama, and a touch of mystery. Ms. Winter spins a captivating tale, with an original twist to the vampire theme.
Millicent has been brooding and glum for over two hundred years mourning the loss of her soulmate, even though it happened so long ago, the pain is still fresh and the loss weighs heavily on her heart- it’s like she’d lost a part of herself. So, imagine her shock when she stops to watch a as a movie is being filmed nearby, and looks into the face from her past. The actor is the spitting image of her long lost lover. Is her grief-stricken mind playing tricks on her? Is this a freaky coincidence, or could he really be the same man? Join Millicent, Alexandre, Annie, and Jack to find out all the captivating details for yourself.
This was a great story, with wonderful paranormal elements crafted in such a way that they were entirely believable. The whole story ‘came alive’ before my eyes, and that comes down to the authors talent for spinning a great story. I am really looking forward to the next book, “Rebel Heart’.
Thank you, Ms. Winter!
Deepest Midnight: Book One of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter is paranormal romance that quickly became an addictive read. Set in Savannah, Georgia, this story has all the historical feel of that location in the character interactions. Add in attractive vampires, this story took on a twist that gives the story charm, allure and intrigue. Millicent is the heroine, who is fractured/flawed, from her past. Her character was strong, yet vulnerable. When she believes fate has changed her path, she cannot avoid not pursing that. However, not everyone is willing to let things fall as they will and that brings in the drama of the story. It was detailed, well written and an addictive pleasure to read.
a great read about hope. Living forever can be miserable if you have lost the one you love. Millicent still mourns her lover even though he died more than two centuries ago. But when she meets an actor who looks exactly like him, her hope is reignited. Desperate to find out if he is Julien, she seeks him out and accidently develops feelings for him. If he is Julien, can Millicent hope for a better future or will the past repeat itself?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Millicent struggling with her feelings but still going for what she wants or the supportive and friendly Annie. The contrast between bright happy Alexander and moody Millicent was beautifully written and enjoyable.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of history with alleyways covered in moss and cobblestones and the fountain giving the place a sense of character. Or the vivid sense of colour in the past with vibrant blues and pinks and green parks or gold birds eye catching and bright making you feel as if you were actually there.
I loved the mix of genres with realism of actors and police officers and the fantasy of immortals that combined together for a captivating read. I also loved the original fairy tale feel of the meetings with Jupiter in the little cottage in the woods with a wise helpful figure was beautifully written. The flashbacks into the memories of the past were well written nd didn’t distract from the narrative of the present. The use of italics and dates in these sections was a great addition and made it easy to follow for the reader. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Rated 4 stars
This is a story of vampires or immortals. I was glad to pick this up because it’s been a bit since I was able to indulge myself. I was a bit shocked over this story. It was not what I expected it to be. It starts off at a nice pace as we are Introduced to the characters. We meet a few humans and then everything goes haywire. Half way through there is A lot of memory sharing and inner thinking. I got a bit bored at that point. Millicent is Way overthinking the situation (I know she is a different vampire but still) It picks back up near the end for a smashing conclusion.
Vampires are my second fav paranormal story. So I have read a lot. I felt this had a some holes in it. With them being together for 240 years I would think they would know a lot more about vampires than what was led to believe. I enjoyed the story of how Alexandre enticed Millicent to him. The relationship with the human and between the 3 vampires were lovely adds to the story. Overall this is a short look into the current life of a few vamps with some flashbacks to help explain a few things. I enjoyed the explanation of the title. Very interesting and perfect! I liked this…yes i had a few issues but it is a good story and held my interest. I read it fairly quickly and the story did move along nicely. This is my first time reading this author. I am giving her second book in the series a read.
I give Deepest Midnight: Book One of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter, 4 stars.
Millicent is a vampire that has been around for over two centuries. And she has been grieving the whole time. In fact, she has not been happy since she was mortal and was truly in love. But that ended up being short lived. Now she has met man who reminds her so much of him. But is it this man the one she loves or just the memory of her lost love? Plus he is human. If she wants a long relationship, she must tell him. Will it ever work?
This a paranormal romance with some suspense thrown in. There are flashbacks to tell you more of Millicent’s mortal life plus much going on in modern day. There at the relationships with her immortal family, as well as interacting with humans. She struggles daily. This book was okay to start with, but it gets quite good with the twists and turns you won’t see coming. Plus an angle that I won’t give away that I have not seen in vampire stories before.
I was intrigued with this book and I highly recommend it to those who love vampires and interesting stories.

Vampires are my go to books. I love most reads that feature blood sucking lol. I was so excited to dive into this story. Normally it’s a guy that’s the vampire and the female is just a mortal. In this story our girl has the fangs and it’s depressing. But it gets better she just has to find her happy place. The author made some surprising twist that made the story stand out more. It wasn’t a typical vampire story. Mills has a very depressing personality and it doesn’t make her likable but you do understand her. I don’t like my characters to be down 24/7. As the story goes on the author puts some twist in that just have you wanting to scream. I love books that are unpredictable. The author definitely delivered.
Deepest Midnight (The Immortal Kindred Series #1) by Clara Winter was an engaging read that had me hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author and I’m impressed. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a good paranormal romance, especially one involving vampires, and I will tell you I had this book read in one sitting. This book had a mix of everything, it played with the normal tropes and clichés, but didn’t overload, and gave more substance to the vampire lore. This book had this dark tone throughout. Even when there was cause to be happy, that lurking darkness was still there, letting us know this book is anything but.
There is one thing I want to touch on and highlight, that really pulled me into this book, and that was the flashbacks to Millicent past. They were giving little by little at first, just a sneak peek here and there into her oastself, and into a time long gone. It gave us just enough that when she reveal her whole story, you were engrossed, captivated and didn’t want it to end. In truth, if the author wanted, could make a prequel going more in depth with what transpire not only between Millicent and Julien, but what transpired after her change.
Overall this book is a solid read, and it’s a solid start to what will probably become my most anticipated series of this year. So please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval, that this book will put you in a trance and you will not be able to stop reading until you get to that bittersweet ending.
Happy Reading

Deepest Midnight by Clara Winter is the first book in the Immortal Kindred series. This book is full of twists and turns that will take you on an amazing journey from page one.
I really enjoyed how the book utterly captivated me from the word go. I became so immersed in the story and the characters. I couldn’t decide how I thought it all might end which I found really exciting. I wanted things to work out well for Millicent and I was behind her the whole way.
This was such a strong and brilliant start to a new series. I cannot wait to read more.
This is not your run of the mill vampire love story. The author does a beautiful job weaving her tale through flashbacks, plot twists, and intriguing characters. I found myself entranced by the story and read it in one sitting. I am so thankful that this is book one in a series; I am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to read book two!
