A serial killer terrorizes a small California town in this gripping thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag.California, 1985—Four children and young teacher Anne Navarre make a gruesome discovery: a partially buried female body, her eyes and mouth glued shut. A serial killer is at large, and the very bonds that hold their idyllic town together are about to be tested to the … about to be tested to the breaking point.

I thought it was an excellent read. There were many instances in the bood
that made it scary. Trish
I love all of Tami Hoag’s books. I immediately bought the rest of the series, and hope others will follow. I really enjoyed the entire series being in the 80’s, and I remember enough to know that it felt real and correct. The story and characters are excellent and believable.
A real page Turner. Couldn’t figure out who the serial killer was
One of my favorite authors who never disappoints.

Keep s you guessing
Thrilling, occasionally terrifying, the plot is expertly carried by crisp dialogue. The romance is a little thin, but satisfying.
Great Book
What distinguishes this book is the careful plotting. The writing is good, the characters sympathetic (except for the possible villains). The conclusion makes sense; there was no need to trot out details from the past unknown to the reader until they were needed to make logical sense. And the women were strong!
