She’s mine to claim. Mine to protect. Mine to care for.
I swore I’d never go back to that mountain, not after my old buddy and I fell out years ago. So imagine my shock when I find out he’s died and left me his hunting cabin. On the way there, I find myself staring down the barrel of a pistol without a safety, in the form of smooth thighs, arresting green eyes, and curves that could charm a … curves that could charm a sapling into a mighty oak.
But it turns out my old buddy’s gone and thrown me another curveball: the nymph with the ass that won’t quit? That’s his eighteen-year-old little girl. She’s running from something, but I’m not about to let anyone lay a finger on this green-eyed angel.
I’ll put my life on the line to keep her safe, because nobody lays a finger on this mountain daddy’s angel.

Author’s note: I’ve wanted to write a mountain-man romance for what feels like FOREVER! There’s just something about a rugged, brooding loner with a big axe that makes you want to curl up by a roaring fire. Enter, Silas Walker! He’s a little grumpy and a lot stubborn, but once this mountain Daddy gets his hands on his baby girl, he’s never letting her go.
Please be aware that this book contains suspense elements and discussions of past physical abuse. But don’t let that heavy stuff fool you. This romance is fast and filthy, with no cheating or cliffhangers, and features a guaranteed HEA!

Short, Sweet and Hot AF
Margot Scott is becoming a go-to for me for sweet hot reads.
Silas and Norah are easy to love. Their story is a deliciously smutty age-gap romance with a dash of suspense and a hint of “Daddy Dom” kinkiness. A great evening’s entertainment. Recommended.
Fabulous book! Norah and Silas are meant to be together, despite the age gap and the Daddy/babygirl taboo. I would recommend this book to everyone. I loved how the murdered father’s ghost-boy made appearances and gave his ghostly blessing to the relationship. Seriously, a great Margot Scott read!
Running away to the mountain cabin and brought together by another force
Deep Wood is the story of Norah and Silas. She is eighteen years old and is fleeing from an abusive boyfriend after she broke off their relationship and said she would go to the police. Well there is a whole lot more to that part of the story. When he starts to threaten her she decides to take a trip to her father’s cabin in the woods where she would go with him and her mother every summer. Unfortunately her father was killed two weeks ago and the cabin technically now belongs to someone else she has never met, as it was left to an old friend of her father’s in his will. Silas is thirty-seven years old and just quit his job, traded in his Lexus sedan for a new Ram truck and hit the road driving for over twelve hours to get to the cabin that he just found out that morning his childhood best friend had left him in his will. He finds himself last at night and just about ready to fall asleep but still about a half hour away from the cabin on the mountain when he pulls into a small convenience store and gas station. Inside he finds a young woman at the counter trying to locate her money and wallet to pay for the various items she has on the counter. As he is on his last nerve and she is fraying it even more he decides to just pay for her items along with his. Outside she tries to get him to give her a ride up the road but he is not having it and instead leaves her sitting on the stoop outside the store. But just shortly down the road he swerves to avoid a young boy on a bike that darted out in front of him. The boy looks like his friend when they were kids which gets him thinking back to the young girl and he turns around to give her a ride.
This story is entertaining and crams a lot into the plot including – abuse, violence and murder, death, guilt, ghosts, age gap romance, Daddy Dom/little girl kink, destiny, love and a few more. Even though this is a well written story I was left feeling that all of these things together would have all been better in a full length story and not a novella. It was just scratching the surface/dipping the toe in on most of it including the kink. But overall I found the story to still be good and enjoyed reading it based on where the author took the story.
1) run away from a problem
2) get a ride from a sexy man in a newish looking truck
3) offer him a favor for a favor (is offer more than that to him but that’s another story)
4) house in the mountains in the same cabin I was running from.
This story is deliciously hot. She’s running from her past and hiding a secret that she feels will change his feeling towards her. Silas is her dads best friend. When her past finally catches up to her will Silas stick around and let the feeling between them grow? Read in and find out what happens when daddy’s ex best friend takes you for
The ride of your life.

After reading some long books, I decided to look in my Kindle Library and I found a short-story DEEP WOOD: A Mountain Daddy Romance. It is an Age Gap Romance, too. Also he is a Daddy Dom. It was an entertaining story that I could easily read in one sitting. I know some readers have triggers and then might not enjoy this story.
Silas Walker is a real estate dealer who just has inherited a fishing cabin from an old friend that he hasn’t spoken to in years. They had a falling out years ago. So Silas was very surprised by being bequeathed this family cabin. He thought maybe it was Jack Benson’s way of making up for what he had done to Silas in their past! Whatever the reason, Silas quit his job, traded his Lexus for a Dodge Ram, and headed halfway across the country to his newly inherited cabin. As he got closer, he stopped at a gas-station/quick-mart. He got in line to pay when the young girl in front of him was having trouble paying for her items. He was tired and impatient so paid for her items, so he could be on his way. The very same girl was by his truck, flirting to get a ride. He said, “No!”
Silas’s concern for her welfare wore him down. Imagine his surprise when he found out that she was Jack Benson’s daughter and they both were headed to the same cabin. Her name was Norah and she was running far away from something bad. In order for Silas to let her stay, she had to tell him the entire awful story. Silas might be stubborn and grumpy, but he would give his life to protect his “baby girl” once this mountain man claimed her.

Fast paced, dramatic, sexy, and one wild ride.
Loved this short novella. Would have made a fantastic full length novel.
The characters and plot were great!
A short but good best friend’s young daughter falls for her dead father’s older estranged best friend. Very good plot for a short book that I devoured in one reading.
I enjoyed this steamy age-gap romance a lot. The story is only 70 or so pages but well rounded. Silas and Lilah have great chemistry and the plot is interesting. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Again Mrs. Scott delivers a fantastic read. I could not put this one down. Connected to the characters. Mountain daddy’s are the best!

** spoiler alert ** **A little spoilerish**
I see where Margot Scott was trying to go with this book. But, I feel it wasn’t probably executed. I think what happened to Norah’s dad set a serious tone to this book. I wasn’t feeling it. If it just stuck to finding a girl late at night… then yes! Forbiddeness! But the whole killing and feeling guilty. Not so sexy.
I was looking and hoping to get that forbiddeness feel in this book. I mean… that’s why I jumped so fast to read this book!!! The dirty forbidden feeling you get while reading a Margot Scott Book. The daddy little play… I love it! But, I didn’t feel the daddy thing until the very end and only one time!
This book was kinda slow too. It wouldn’t have bothered me if there were more naughty, dirty things going on. It all felt too normal.
It wasn’t a bad book. Just something I’m not use to. I will continue to read Margot Scott books. Because overall they have been good to me. This was just there.

Silas and Norah end up meeting by accident at a convenience store. Silas is on the mountain to take over his dead best friend’s cabin. Norah is eighteen and on the run with some secrets. Her father was Silas friend at one time. The two end up at the cabin alone and become sexually involved in Daddy/little relationship. A steamy hot read.

3.5 stars
This story is difficult to rate as there are parts I quite enjoyed and parts that I really didn’t like. The female lead isn’t all that likable but she did improve throughout the story. I did like the hero from the beginning and there is the tiniest bit of paranormal which was a nice little side note.
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Norah and Silas have that “insta-love” connection. And the mountain man/dom aspect is played up just right for the reader. I loved that Margot Scott did a terrific job with providing enough background details but not wading down the story with them either. The author has a real knack for capturing the interest of the reader and keeping their attention to the very end….not many novella authors can do that so masterfully.

Deep Wood by Margot Scott
5 STARS
Margot Scott has a dirty and delicious way with her words and stories.
If you look for something quick, dirty and af, she is definitely the right choice for you, but keep in mind that, you will need some ice or a cold shower.
Silas and Nora’s story was easy to read, very , and a little wild.
Silas wants to escape the real life, his job and his life in the city. He wants quite, the forest, the mountains, hunting & fishing, fresh air. Now, his luck has changed. His best friend from his childhood has died, but he left him the cabin on the mountain. The cabin in which they grew, the cabin where they spent they holydays when they were kids.
Norah made some poor choices, and she is on the run now. She wants to escape her life and the reality that she lives in. Her father was a role model for her, but sadly, something bad happened to him. So she ran away to the only place she knew and loved with all her heart. The cabin on the mountain.
Imagine what happenes when they both meet there.
So… If you are a fan of the age gap, daddy kink, old man & young girl, this is for you.
I’ve enjoyed other books by this author, but this one is probably my favorite. Its an older man/younger woman daddy dom short read. It’s an easy read to finish in one sitting. It had its fair of emotional angst and drama. And to top it off it was sexy. It’s a book I could read again.

I am loving Margot Scott’s most recent longer releases! Deep Wood brings together strangers Silas and Norah in a chance encounter. Closer ties are slowly revealed after they discover both of them were seeking shelter in the same cabin. Silas is much older than Norah and fights internally against his desires and her advances. The slow burn of their relationship coupled with the drama of her past catching up with her makes this a great read!
Silas picks up more trouble than he realizes when he stumbles upon Norah. They have some twists and turns to navigate but the rewards are fabulous in this hot Daddy novella! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
The story of Norah and Silas is another great story for Margot Scott it’s a slow burn about a troubled girl whose running away from her present-past and a man who is running toward a past that he has not reconciled with these two people are on a collision course that neither one is prepared for but that which each needs to heal; through in some supernatural influence and love and you have a recipe for a wonderful love story and the daddy-baby girl dynamic only sweetens a little more but is not the complete focus of the book,
Norah and Silas have a shared history that neither are actively aware of the link being Norah’s father Jack who was Silas’s childhood best friend, the story focuses on how these two come together after Jack’s death and find that even though they are practically strangers they need one another in order to heal, this book for me was another great surprise for me because it shows Margot Scott’s extensive talent to give a story that is bitter sweet with elements of a power exchange that both characters are navigating without manipulation or ulterior motives.
In the beginning I disliked the heroine because I thought her to be selfish and spoiled however as the relationship between Silas and Norah progressed I started to feel differently about Norah and begun to see that the motives for the things she did weren’t guided by a genuine need to hurt anyone but rather she was girl lost in although she had the love of her parents it did not fill a very important void in her life which opened the door for her boyfriend to exploit and abuse her; I don’t want to give away too much and slip and give spoilers but I will say that this book was worth it and in this time out of time we all need a little fantasy and escape and to believe that there is a Daddy-Dom out there to rescue us all and tell us that everything with be okay and that tomorrow will be a better day. Happy Reading!!!
This was a short enjoyable read.
It’s an age gap daddy Dom romance of novella length.
It’s very instalove with a lack of angst so if that’s your thing this should definitely be a good fit for you.
It’s quite a sweet story and though there is a backstory regarding Nora’s father and his death at the hands of Norah’s exit wasn’t a massive part of the story more background Filler and the emphasis here is mostly on Norah and Simas’s emerging bond.
I liked both Norah and Silas very much and though this wasn’t that in-depth I could still feel the connection between them they definitely had a lot of Chemistry together.
This is my second experience with this author and she does write excellent Daddy Dom stories managing to deliver just the right balance and makes you go aw rather than ew.
This was a sweet read and gets a thumbs up from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Deep Woods.

Silas’s old friend left him his grandfather’s hunting cabin when he died even though their friendship had been strained for years. On his way to the cabin he ended up picking up a young hiker. Norah was the daughter of Silas’s friend. But they couldn’t deny their attraction to each other. The journey of their relationship was full of deception, danger and daddy dom issues before they could get their HEA. Interesting and exciting read
