From Liliana Hart’s New York Times bestselling MacKenzie family comes a new story by USA Today best-selling author Kimberly Kincaid…
Bartender Kylie Walker went into the basement of The Corner Tavern for a box of cocktail napkins, but what she got was an eyeful of murder. Now she’s on the run from a killer with connections, and one wrong step could be her last. Desperate to stay safe, Kylie … safe, Kylie calls the only person she trusts—her ex-Army Ranger brother. The only problem? He’s two thousand miles away, and trouble is right outside her door.
Security specialist Devon Randolph might be rough and gruff, but he’ll never turn down a friend in need, especially when that friend is the fellow Ranger who once saved his life. Devon may have secrets, but he’s nearby, and he’s got the skills to keep his buddy’s sister safe…even if one look at brash, beautiful, Kylie makes him want to break all the rules.
Forced on the run, Kylie and Devon dodge bullets and bad guys, but they cannot fight the attraction burning between them. Yet the closer they grow, the higher the stakes become. Will they be able to outrun a brutal killer? Or will Devon’s secrets tear them apart first?

WOW! This was so much packed into a short but fast-paced whaop of a good time! Kylie is having a bad night. First her boss is murdered in front of her and then the killer grabs her and holds her at gunpoint. Luckily she remains somewhat calm and channels her brother in her mind and manages to escape and dials him as she is speeding away. Kylie is in in Montana and her brother is in North Carolina so that is not a lot of help but he immediately puts in a call to the one person he trusts to help her, Devon Randolph, who is served with in the Army and now he is a security specialist with MacKenzie Securities. Devon and Kylie are now on the run together and adrenaline brings out the best in both and close quarters brings out more.
How did I miss this one before? I definitely recommend this one if you are a fan of Kimberly Kincaid or Liliana Hart!
After inhaling this novella I can say with absolute certainty that you better take a deep breath before you start this book because that’s the last one you will take for a while. The action kicks of straight away and grabs a hold of you and doesn’t let go till the end. And you will love every second of it.
Kimberly Kincaid has written a story that will suck you in and have you glued to the pages from the get go and have you falling head over heels for the main characters in Devon and Kylie as well as the secondary ones in Kylie’s brother Kellan.
I loved Devon and Kylie. How could you not fall for the returned hero Ranger who is willing to drop everything to help a friend and the feisty bartender who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and now has a target on her back? Together these two make a hell of a team as they fight to get to safety.
They also have undeniable chemistry that’s not just the adrenaline rush of running for their lives. Devon and Kylie fit, there is no better way to describe it. And when they realise this……hot, hot, hot.
“He might not be worthy of her outside this room, but he knew how to make her feel alive. For just a little while, Devon could keep her safe and help her forget. He could give her what she needed.”
As they flee across the country from the killer that has them both in his sights, they see that sometimes a connection can be made no matter the trouble you’re in and maybe that connection is worth fighting for.
“I don’t just trust you, Devon. I need you. No matter what happened in the past, or what happens after today, I only need you.”
This is yet another example of why Kimberly Kincaid is an auto buy author for me. She has given us a small glimpse into her upcoming series with this fast paced novella and I for one can’t wait for the next story with the debut of the sexy firefighters of Station Seventeen, including one sexy brother Kellan from Deep Trouble.
Now onto the next MacKenzie novella and what I suspect might become my new addiction.
Deep trouble, a MacKenzie Family novella by Kimberly Kincaid, is a case of wrong place, wrong time. Bartender Kylie Walker ends up on the run after witnessing the murder of her boss. When Kylie discovers there’s nowhere to hide because the drug dealer killer, with connections in law enforcement will hunt her down, her only option is to flee. Devon Randolph owes his life to Kellan Walker and would do anything to repay that debt. Providing protection for his friend’s sister is no big deal, but it only takes one look at Kylie and his determination to keep her safe no longer is about his debt to his buddy but because of the connection he makes with her. The magnetic attraction and off-the-charts sizzling chemistry between these two is amazing.
Deep Trouble delivers action, suspense, and heat between the sheets, while also showing that lasting connections can be made in adrenaline-infused situations and that danger is the biggest motivation to grab hold of happiness. Kylie and Devon had amazing chemistry and the time spent together on the run only served to heighten their bond.
If you love quick, wonderful romantic suspense reads…then this one is for you!
After bartender Kylie Walker witnesses a murder and needs some protection, who better to help her than her brother Kellan’s best friend (and fellow Army soldier)? What Kellan didn’t expect was for Devon and Kylie’s roadtrip to escape to turn in to more!
Double Trouble is a novella and a crossover between author Kimberly Kincaid’s Station Seventeen series and The MacKenzie Family series by author Liliana Hart. A well-written quick read, with great characters who are easy to root for! This romance is full of suspense, romance, friendships, twists, and…secrets!
Fantastic read that I would easily recommend!
This is a fast paced romance; Kylie’s life suddenly becomes a frantic chase to get to her and her brother to safety. It quickly becomes apparent she needs help and her bother’s friend, Devin steps in to assist.
Devon feels compelled to help Kylie because of his past connection to her brother.
This is an action filled romance with characters you will love or hate, there’s plenty of chemistry and passion between the characters and you will be pulled in from the start
Hot novella about Kylie Walker and Devon Randolph. She accidentally witnesses a murder, and because the killer is a well-connected criminal, needs to go on the run to stay alive. Her brother calls in a favor from his good friend and former fellow soldier.
Deep Trouble is a fast moving, exciting story. Kimberly Kincaid does a great job with characterization and plotting, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Intended as an introduction to the Station Seventeen series by Kimberly Kincaid and an intersection with the MacKenzie Family series by Liliana Hart, Deep Trouble satisfies.
Great Read!! This book had lots of twists & turns that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the story. The romance between the hero and heroine is sexy and believable. I totally fell in love with Devon & Kylie!!
Excellent start to a new series! This fast paced, action packed novella had my complete attention from the first page and I could not put it down. Kylie witnesses her boss’s murder and barely escapes herself. She goes on the run with her brother’s friend Devon. His only job is to keep her safe but neither can fight the attraction between them. Kylie and Devon have amazing chemistry!
Kimberly Kincaid is a must buy for me and I can’t wait to read more of this series! Highly recommended!
This is a Novella for the MacKenzie Family, and a Prequel to the Station Seventeen Series.
This is story of Devon & Kylie. Devon is a security specialist. Kylie is a bartender. Devon gets a call from Kylie’s brother Kellan, and asks him to protect her from the man who she saw shoot her boss. It all goes downhill from there. There are confrontations with this man. A lot of action, emotion, steaminess and attraction. It’s a great story and jam packed for a novella. I’ve read Kimberly’s latest books, but now it catch up time for the back series’. Thank you for being the author you are, with a knack for getting the reader so involved in the story.
