Deep in ChaosSkullyI turned on my brothers, my club – the Hell Hounds MC. Why? It’s simple. I was done and wanted out. There was no reason for me to stay in this town, but I had to make it right with the Chaos Kings MC. The only reason I did was because of her – Tanya. I just had to taste her, even if it was just once. She brings out a different man inside me, making me want that legit life. And … that legit life. And once I taste her, I won’t ever want to let her go.
Tanya
My stomach flipped the second I saw Skully for the first time. But he was off limits. There was no way I could ever be with him. He was a Hell Hound and could never be trusted. The man pushed all of my buttons. But I craved his touch, even though I knew that I shouldn’t. Part outlaw, part hero – the most confusing man on the planet. I’d just started to get over the most painful breakup of my life. I didn’t want lust, or love. I wanted nothing to do with any man. But…when it came to Skully, he was my weakness. Why should I deny myself? I wanted him, and I will have him.

Skully and Tanya are two broken people who find each other during a hard fought situation. Not knowing if they should be together, and if the CKMC would accept them together. Skully has a lot to prove. Is he willing to do so? Can they even make it work between them? This book was sweet, fun, and emotional. I enjoyed the ride.
This is book is only my second book that I have read by this author and I am sort of becoming interested but not necessarily a fan just yet.
Skully left a 1% MC club because of how they treated people, especially women. He met Tanya who is attached to the Chaos Kings MC and it was an instant spark. Now, what I have noticed is both main characters in books 1 and 2 are wounded. They are looking for a way to heal. That way ends up being through love, devotion, and tribe. Being accepted is a key factor in the healing process.
I really liked the storyline and I like the characters. Skully is submissive to a point. Tanya is bossy and he let’s her boss him. But he can be aggressive and dominant.
What detracts from the story is the editing. Words were split, words misspelled, extra words in sentences…it was a constant annoyance.
Oh, storyline…yup SPOILER ALERT….
So Tanya had an abortion then later in life a miscarriage. It never says she can’t have children. So…what happens because she starts her period after having fun times with Skully. That kinda means the POSSIBILITY of pregnancy is there.
It was nice the author tried to focus on character development and emotional development; And she is getting better at these things but still the flow is off. I know there were times I felt the story should wrap up and end and the book keeps going. At least the author continued to create new story to try and keep the reader engaged.
Overall the book is steamy, 4/5 stars.
Overall main characters were pretty good, 3/5 stars
Editing, nope, 2/5 stars.
Overall storyline, 3/5 stars.
Overall experience 3/5 stars.
This is a really great story. I enjoyed reading about Skully and Tanya. Their journey is a long one. Very happy with the out come. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I do recommend this book.
Skully and Tanya’s story is the second book in the CKMC series. Now that Skully is no longer a part of the Hell Hounds MC he’s determined to find a job and get his life straight. He knows he should leave Tanya alone, but he’s drawn to her and wants to keep her safe. Tanya cannot deny the chemistry she has with Skully, but she’s just getting over a disastrous breakup and she doesn’t know if she can trust a member of the Hell Hounds. Will Skully be able to break down the walls Tanya has erected to protect her heart or is he destined to ride out the rest of his life a lone wolf?
Deep in Chaos is not your typical MC read and I mean that in the best way. Skully aka Owen was a member of the Hell Hounds MC. But the stuff they were involved in turned his stomach. He helped the Chaos Kings MC out (see the first book in the series Salvation in Chaos) and now the Hell Hounds hate him too. But he can’t forget Tanya, part of the Chaos Kings family and how much he wants to be with her. So he comes around to make amends to the Kings and Tanya is happy to see him. She was into him from the moment they met but him being a Hound was too Romeo and Juliet. Now that he is free, she can get him right where she wants him, in her bed. But the past comes knocking and sometimes there is no way out…
Linny Lawless is putting a unique spin on the MC genre and I love it! Skully is a sweet guy, tough as nails but not afraid to show how he feels. I loved that he was strong but not so alpha that he bulldozed his way through everything. Tanya was a great character; sassy, sweet and confident. But she has a deep sadness that kicks her in the gut when Skully’s life changes. I really enjoyed the first book but Deep in Chaos was a notch above it. The characters and their situations are written so vividly and real. I cannot wait to see what Ms Lawless has in store for the Chaos Kings next!
Book 2 in the Chaos series was just as good as book 1. The story of Tanya and Skully will literally have you smiling and crying in the same moment. The realness to the characters, and to the motorcycle clubs, is what makes this author a good storyteller. Everything is realistic and you are completely drawn into their world, feeling everything they feel. They hate hard and they love hard, and you won’t want their story to end.
