Shae and Capelli are fantastic together. Just different enough to be drawn to each other. She’s impulsive when it comes to saving lives and he analyses almost everything with his almost photographic memory. Can they catch the arsonist before it’s too late? I really liked this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next one.
Awesome
This story pairs up the most unlikely duo EVER!
She is hardhead, stubborn and flies by the seat of her pants—which of course lands her in hot water.
While he is a logic thinker with a memory like a steel trap. He hates rules being broken and things he can’t quantify.
So that of course leads to FIREWORKS when they are together!
I LOVED how this story left the couple!! She helped him and he helped her. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
5 WICKED SMART STARs for Starsky and Hutch!
One thing I love almost as much I love as much as Cops and Emts/Firefighters are HACKERS, and Kimberly Kincaid writes the heck out of Capelli’s character!! I was infuriated for him about things in his past that worked against his ability build true partnerships in the Intelligence Unit, but loved the way everyone works to try and show him they are there for him anyway.
Shae is one of my favourite characters in Station Seventeen, and the meaning of her name is ABSOLUTELY perfect for her!! Her go get it attitude combined with her sassy never say die personality is a ton of fun, especially when she’s mouthing at Hawk or Gamble.
The opening scene in Deep Burn is one no firefighter or emt is bound to forget, and Shae’s refusal of Brides order to stand down is typical, understandable, and very ill advised.
When Capelli is ordered to the same scene later in the morning he could never have imagined he was going to have to deal with the rash, impulsive, fly-by-the-seat of her pants, not to mention D@MN SEXY, Shae McCullough but there she was running her mouth even though it was obvious she was in trouble.
Later that week when Shae and Capelli are ordered to work together Shae finds what she knew she saw at the first scene in an even older scene, and takes her finds to Capelli after Arson shuts her down. What follows is Capelli being an absolute moron on more than one occasion until someone from Capelli’s past conspires to make Shae very uncomfortable. Suddenly it’s no longer an arson, but maybe murder, arson, revenge, and?
This book is absolutely BRILLIANT, high-speed, with more twists and turns than your normal neural pathway, and incredibly darkly sexy!! I think Kincaid needs to spend some time writing some more in this direction because I am in LOVE!!
This is Book 2 of the Station Seventeen Series
This is the story of Capelli & Shae. Capelli works for the intelligence unit in Remington Police Department. Shae is a firefighter at Station Seventeen. They are brought together when they are instructed to investigate a fire that is suspicious of arson. They keep dancing around their attraction to each other. Capelli has a calculated mind and a photographic memory. Shae is a free spirit and is impulsive. Even though they are not cops, their minds do a lot of the work. There are times in this story that put your mind on alert. It was very interesting to see how a photogenic mind works. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are great, too. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I loved this new romantic suspense story from the Station Seventeen series.
When you pair a beautiful but impulsive and spontaneous woman with a nerdy, driven and obsessively organized man, sparks are bound to fly, particularly when she’s a firefighter, he’s a tech security expert for the police department and they’ve been assigned to identify a couple of murder/arsons that nearly went undetected by the fire marshal’s office.
Kincaid always provides charming, sweet, spicy romances between characters with very strong personalities that seem to conflict nearly as often as they come together and Deep Burn is no exception, but this story offers so much more with believable, on location and background fire fighting and a look at how an arsonist/extortionist might go about conducting his business.
Don’t plan anything for the next several hours if you’re looking to buy this one because you won’t be able to put it down.
Deep Burn by Kimberly Kincaid is the second in her Station Seventeen series, romantic suspense involving the Remington Fire Department’s Station Seventeen and the Remington Police Department. Deep Burn is about Shae McCullough and James Capelli.
Shae’s a seasoned firefighter, but one who tends to go with her gut. Sometimes that gets her in trouble, like when her disregard for a direct order earned her two weeks’ penance with the arson investigation unit. Capelli’s the opposite of impulsive, and his by-the-books work not only keeps him focused and on task, but gives him the structure he knows he needs. These two should have nothing in common, but when they partner up to investigate possible arson and then murder, they find all those sparks do lead to something.
Ms Kincaid’s writing is precise and at times poetic. Her plots and characterizations are on point. Deep Burn is a great read, and I look forward to more in this series.
Wow. I loved this book! Shae, honest, brassy, seemingly reckless matched up with controlled, by-the-books Capelli. This is so much more than opposites attract. These two were combustible! They brought out something special in each other and it was fantastic to watch them fall in love. And all of this happens while they work to catch a creepy murderer\arsonist. Lots of suspense, hot sexy scenes, and a beautiful love story. Seriously, I loved this book! This is a great addition to this series!
Deep Burn is the second book in the Station Seventeen series and this series just keeps getting better. Shae McCullough is a feisty firefighter who loves her job and can maneuver that big fire truck wherever she needs it to go, and she can hold her own up against any of the male firefighters. Doing what she feels is the right thing to do, gets her in trouble when she goes against the Captains orders and her punishment is two weeks filing paperwork for the arson investigative unit. That is where she meets super serious tech guy, James Capelli, he is a little OCD, a lot serious, and has a secret past. Working together they unveil an arson case that threatens a whole lot of people, and two of those people just happened to be firefighters.
If you love a good romantic suspense then you have to read this book. Five smoking hot stars for this one!
So freaking good! If you like your romance with a little or a lot of suspense and HEAT then this is the one you absolutely NEED TO READ this summer! Shae McCullough is a firefighter at Station Seventeen and, of course, she gets in trouble and has to do some time at arson investigations. This leads to her working with the Intelligence Unit at RPD and closely with James Capelli.
Shae and Capelli flash and burn together and the intensity is mesmerizing. They drive each other crazy but it is a good crazy and was so much fun watching them come to grips and learn to work together.
Even if you haven’t read the other books in this series (and really why not!) don’t miss this one!!!! I highly recommend it. It can be read as a standalone.
