Oh my gosh, Deep Beneath was a stunner of a romantic suspense with enough sci-fi feel that sure kept things interesting and the romance, is everything I dream about in a good story! Dale Mayer put together a heck of a read with her latest Psychic Vision novel. This book had so many surprises and twists and amazing edge worthy action its no surprise this book was awesome. Add in the romance with its high heat intensity and we have ourselves a book worthy of a Five Stars!

I love this series, can’t wait to read the next one!
This is book 15 in the Psychic Visions series and it features Samson and Whimsy. The story takes place in Puget Sound, Alaska and involves a lot of telepathy, astral projection, sea mammals, a couple of dogs and people who care what happens to our planet. The story is too complicated to give an accurate synopsis but fascinating to read, as everything falls into place and makes sense.
The romance didn’t come into play until the last chapter, for which I was a little disappointed, but the story line was amazing! The characters were so multifaceted and fabulous, including the dogs! I can’t wait for the next one.

Deep Breath is one of Dale Mayer’s “Psychic Visions” novels. This book starts with an enormous event. Whismy and her fiancé are kayaking in waters in the Seattle area when they are caught in a gigantic storm. The description of Whimsy’s near-drowning is explicit, realistic and spellbinding.
Whimsy is rescued by Samson who has a lab on an isolated island. He nurses her until he is able to take her back to the mainland. The dynamic between these two characters is captivating as their personalities emerge and slowly change.
When they return to the mainland, they discover a mystery that involves Whimsy, her ex-fiancé, Samson, his brothers and some illegal activities that go far beyond all of them.
The characters and the mystery will grab your attention until the very end!
I can’t say how much I LOVED this book. I read everything she writes but think this is her best series, although the others addres not far behind! This is my absolute favorite in the series, at least so far….. It captured my attention right from the start. I actually chose to forgo kayaking for the day and because I too engrossed with Dr. Whimsy’s own kayak adventure. I hope we see more of her!
I actually found myself holding my breath at times while I read this book. Dr. Whimsy is stranded after a storm and attack and lands on Samson’s beach. She has no idea which way is up, who to trust or what is truth. Trying not to give any spoilers, Jamie and Whimsy work well together. The background and descriptions make it so you can almost smell the salt in the air from the water. As always Dr. Maddie and friends make an appearance. I also enjoyed reading about King and Queen. The story was just wonderful, however if you plan to sleep don’t start reading it before bed, you will not be able to put it down. Can’t wait for the next book.

Deep Beneath by Dale Mayer
Psychic Visions Series Book Fifteen
Dr. Whimsical “Whimsy” Connor went kayaking with some friends after she earned her PhD. She loved the water, but on this particular day…the water didn’t seem to love her…or did it? That little trip turned into a life-changing experience for her.
Samson Cartwright loved his work and his island. Lately, something was happening though. The weather, the ocean, other things…something wasn’t right. And then, he finds a woman on the beach and everything changes. And then there’s his younger brother who he really needs back on the island.
The connection between Whimsy and Samson and this island is comfortable…it feels like home. But something is calling for her to help and she plans on doing her best to figure it out. Figure out who she is. Another page-turning story in this series.

What started as a fabulous day for Whimsy becomes a near death experience. Samson finds Whimsy and rescues her, caring for Whimsy on the private island as she regains her strength and memory. I read the story in two days enjoying the
romance, paranormal elements and intrigue. The story comes together creating a plot that reveals itself with a teasing pace that held my attention
I have read all of the Dale Mayer series and the Psychic Visions is one of my favorites. That being said this wasn’t one of my favorite books in the series. In this book Whimsy is celebrating getting her PhD by going out on the sound Kayaking. While Whimsy is getting caught up in a storm and drowning, Samson hears voices calling him to go out to the beach where he finds and resuscitates Whimsy. There’s something strange occurring in the sound with the frequency and strength of storms. Samson and Whimsy work together to determine the cause. Personally, I would have liked it if there was more psychic activity in the plot, but that didn’t diminish the story line. I enjoyed reading this book even if it wasn’t my favorite in the series.
Another interesting read from Dale Mayer! Mystery, suspense, romance, and a touch of paranormal = an intriguing read! This is a great addition in the series! Good read!
Received an advance copy from the author through Booksprout.
I look forward to each next book in this series. This story grabs you and holds on, very real imagery and characters. Great combination of suspense and surprises in this story.
This book has lots of twists and turns so you never know what will happen next. It also makes you wonder what can happen in this world as it is bigger than you think.

Dale Mayer’s Psychic novels are always excellently different. They’re always touching psychic issues that not really far-fetched from our daily experience, making them believable to an extent and relatable.
This time, Deep Beneath touch ‘hearing visions’. How a voice inside your head might lead you to something. As this was not only fiction, it’s also psychic, you have to be open minded to enjoy the book. There’s mystery, suspense, thriller, romance… basically everything I love in a book was in Deep Beneath. The feeling of suspense was so intense, I had to put it down few times to take a breath. In the end, it was an enjoyable journey. Looking forward to more books in Psychic series.
I was provided a complimentary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
This was the first book of this series that I have read. It was interesting and enjoyable. Figuring out the bad guy was not predictable and kept you wanting to find out what would happen next. I look forward to reading more of this series and would recommend it to others who like a little paranormal with their mystery.
I read most of “Deep Beneath” while sailing in the Mediterranean sea, and the combination of the scenic descriptions in the book and the real waves surrounding me resulted in a memorable experience.
The ocean is depicted as a living, breathing entity; mysterious and powerful, it is, in my opinion, the leading character of the book.
The psychic experiences of the protagonists are a perfect match to it, and, together, give a unique and evocative atmosphere to the narration.
The storyline is articulate and rich, with a numerous and diverse cast of characters, most of them with a vivid, and never obvious, personality.
In particular, I liked the character of Whimsy, the female protagonist, smart and generous; strong enough to deal with a sequence of difficult circumstances while embracing with an analytical mind her newly discovered psychic abilities.
Many of the other characters deserve mention: Samson, the serious and responsible brother, Jamie, his sensitive and rebellious sibling, Heather and Ned, Samson faithful and affectionate work partners and, finally, Stefan and Dr. Maddie, who never fail to make a welcome appearance in this series.
An Excellent book that keeps you glued to the pages. An intriguing story that really does make you think about all the unknowns. Its full of intrigue and suspense that carries the book and keeps you hooked. The characters especially Whimsy are well formed. I love this series and this book is definitely a wonderful addition to this superb series

I love Dale Mayers paranormal series, this book has lots of great suspense and details, keeps you guessing. A book well worth reading.
Although this is book 15 it’s still a lone book but has some of the other characters in from the other books like Dr Maddy and Stefan. Whimsy is now a Dr after getting her PhD and to celebrate she goes off kayaking with two other friends and her fiancé. But tragedy strikes as storm comes out of nowhere and she drowns. On an island Samson is the scientist who owns it but as part of the deed he needs to protect it. He sees a girl washed up on the shore and saves her life. What we see from here is a huge mystery and suspense as we read about whimsey’s struggles of finding out who she is, that some of her life was a lie and greater things are needed to be worked out. As an act of betrayal is hard to swallow will the heroes survive the turmoil and nutty professor? A great strong cast of characters and I loved the connection whimsey seemed to have with things around herself.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is the 15th book in the Psychic Vision Novels, it can be read as a standalone story.
Whimsy is found by Samson on his island in the Puget Sound after she was shot and left for death. There is plenty of drama and action surrounding the island and the psychic abilities of the people around it.
I liked the by play between Samson and Whimsy, also the way Whimsy dealt with Samson’s brother was particularly entertaining.
